We have performed a detailed study of Cu $2p$ core-level spectra in single layer La$_{2-x}$Sr$_{x}$CuO$_{4}$, La doped Bi$_2$Sr$_{1.6}$La$_{0.4}$CuO$_{6+\delta}$ (Bi2201) and bilayer Bi$_2$Sr$_{2}$CaCu$_{2}$O$_{8+\delta}$ (Bi2212) high-temperature superconductors by using hard x-ray photoemission (HX-PES). We identify the Cu$^{2+}$ derived (i) the Zhang-Rice singlet (ZRS) feature, (ii) the $d^{n+1}\underline{L}$ (ligand screened) feature, (iii) the $d^{n}$ satellite feature, as well as the hole-doping derived high binding energy feature in the main peak. In Bi-based cuprates, intensities of the $d^{n}$ satellite features seem to be strongly enhanced compared to La$_{2-x}$Sr$_{x}$CuO$_{4}$. From x-ray photon energy dependent measurements, it is shown that the increased intensity in the satellite region is associated with Bi $4s$ core-level spectral intensity. The corrected $d^{n}$ satellite intensity is independent of the doping content or number of Cu-O layers. Our results suggest a correlation of the relative intensity of ZRS feature and hole-doping induced high binding energy spectral changes in the main peak with superconductivity., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures

We report on a study of 2+1 flavor lattice QCD with the $O(a)$-improved Wilson quarks on a $16^3\times 32$ lattice at the lattice spacing $1/a\approx 2$GeV employing Luescher's domain-decomposed HMC(LDDHMC) algorithm. This is dedicated to a preliminary study for the PACS-CS project which plans to complete the Wilson-clover $N_f=2+1$ program lowering the up-down quark masses close to the physical values as much as possible. We present a summary of results of the joint CP-PACS and JLQCD project toward a 2+1 flavor full QCD simulation with the O(a)-improved Wilson quark formalism and the Iwasaki gauge action. Configurations were generated during 2002-2005 at three lattice spacings, a~0.076, 0.100 and 0.122 fm, keeping the physical volume constant at (2.0fm)^3. Up and down quark masses are taken in the range m_{PS}/m_V~0.6-0.78. We have completed the analysis for the light meson spectrum and quark masses in the continuum limit using the full configuration set. The predicted meson masses reproduce experimental values in the continuum limit at a 1% level. The average up and down, and strange quark masses turn out to be m_{ud}^{\bar{MS}}(\mu=2 GeV)=3.50(14)({}^{+26}_{-15}) MeV and m_s^{\bar{MS}}(\mu=2 GeV)=91.8(3.9)({}^{+6.8}_{-4.1}) MeV. We apply the UV-filtering preconditioner, previously used to improve the Multi-Boson algorithm, to the Polynomial Hybrid Monte Carlo (UV-PHMC) algorithm. The performance test for the algorithm is given for the plaquette gauge action and the $O(a)$-improved Wilson action at $\beta=5.2, c_{\mathrm{sw}}=2.02, M_{\pi}/M_{\rho}\sim 0.8$ and 0.7 on a $16^3\times 48$ lattice. We find that the UV-filtering reduces the magnitude of the molecular dynamics force from the pseudo fermion by a factor 3 by tuning the UV-filter parameter. Masses of the eta and eta-prime mesons are estimated in Nf=2+1 lattice QCD with the non-perturbatively O(a) improved Wilson quark action and the Iwasaki RG-improved gluon action, using CP-PACS/JLQCD configurations on a 16^3 x 32 lattice at beta=1.83 (lattice spacing is 0.122 fm). We apply a stochastic noise estimator technique combined with smearing method to evaluate correlators among flavor SU(2) singlet pseudoscalar operators and strange pseudoscalar operators for 10 combinations of up/down and strange quark masses. The correlator matrix is then diagonalized to identify signals for mass eigenstates. Masses of the ground state and the first excited state extrapolated to the physical point are m_eta= 0.545(16) GeV and m_eta-prime= 0.871(46) GeV, being close to the experimental values of the eta and eta-prime masses., Comment: 7 pages, 7 figures, talk presented at Lattice2006 (Hadron Spectroscopy)

The temperature ($T$) dependent metal-insulator transition (MIT) in VO$_2$ is investigated using bulk sensitive hard x-ray ($\sim$ 8 keV) valence band, core level, and V 2$p-3d$ resonant photoemission spectroscopy (PES). The valence band and core level spectra are compared with full-multiplet cluster model calculations including a coherent screening channel. Across the MIT, V 3$d$ spectral weight transfer from the coherent ($d^1\underbar{\it {C}}$ final) states at Fermi level to the incoherent ($d^{0}+d^1\underbar{\it {L}}$ final) states, corresponding to the lower Hubbard band, lead to gap-formation. The spectral shape changes in V 1$s$ and V 2$p$ core levels as well as the valence band are nicely reproduced from a cluster model calculations, providing electronic structure parameters. Resonant-PES finds that the $d^1\underbar{\it{L}}$ states resonate across the V 2$p-3d$ threshold in addition to the $d^{0}$ and $d^1\underbar{\it {C}}$ states. The results support a Mott-Hubbard transition picture for the first order MIT in VO$_2$., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures. to be published in Phys. Rev. B

Kaon photo-production process on $^{12}$C has been studied by measuring neutral kaons in a photon energy range of 0.8$-$1.1 GeV. Neutral kaons were identified by the invariant mass constructed from two charged pions emitted in the $K^{0}_{S}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ decay channel. The differential cross sections as well as the integrated ones in the threshold photon energy region were obtained. The obtained momentum spectra were compared with a Spectator model calculation using elementary amplitudes of kaon photo-production given by recent isobar models. Present result provides, for the first time, the information on $n(\gamma,K^{0})\Lambda$ reaction which is expected to play an important role to construct models for strangeness production by the electromagnetic interaction. Experimental results show that cross section of $^{12}{\rm C}(\gamma,K^0)$ is of the same order to that of $^{12}{\rm C}(\gamma,K^+)$ and suggest that slightly backward $K^0$ angular distribution is favored in the $\gamma n\to K^0\Lambda$ process., Comment: 6 pages, 8 figures

This Report summarises the activities of the "SM and Higgs" working group for the Workshop "Physics at TeV Colliders", Les Houches, France, 2-20 May, 2005. On the one hand, we performed a variety of experimental and theoretical studies on standard candles (such as W, Z, and ttbar production), treating them either as proper signals of known physics, or as backgrounds to unknown physics; we also addressed issues relevant to those non-perturbative or semi-perturbative ingredients, such as Parton Density Functions and Underlying Events, whose understanding will be crucial for a proper simulation of the actual events taking place in the detectors. On the other hand, several channels for the production of the Higgs, or involving the Higgs, have been considered in some detail. The report is structured into four main parts. The first one deals with Standard Model physics, except the Higgs. A variety of arguments are treated here, from full simulation of processes constituting a background to Higgs production, to studies of uncertainties due to PDFs and to extrapolations of models for underlying events, from small-$x$ issues to electroweak corrections which may play a role in vector boson physics. The second part of the report treats Higgs physics from the point of view of the signal. In the third part, reviews are presented on the current status of multi-leg, next-to-leading order and of next-to-next-to-leading order QCD computations. We have measured de-excitation gamma-rays from the s-hole state in 15N produced via the 16O(p,2p)15N reaction in relation to the study of the nucleon decay and the neutrino neutral-current interaction in water Cherenkov detectors. In the excitation-energy region of the s-hole state between 16 MeV and 40 MeV in 15N, the branching ratio of emitting gamma-rays with the energies at more-than-6 MeV are found to be 15.6+-1.3+0.6-1.0%. Taking into account the spectroscopic factor of the s-hole state, the total emission probability is found to be 3.1%. This is about 1/10 compared with the emission probability of the 6.32 MeV gamma-ray from the 3/2- p-hole state in 15N. Moreover, we searched for a 15.1 MeV gamma-ray from the 12C 1+ state which may be populated after the particle-decay of the s-hole state in 15N. Such a high energy gamma-ray from the hole state would provide a new method to search for mode-independent nucleon decay even if the emission probability is small. No significant signal is found within a statistical uncertainty.

Differential cross sections and photon beam asymmetries have been measured for the gamma n -> K+ Sigma- and gamma p -> K+ Sigma0 reactions separately using liquid deuterium and hydrogen targets with incident linearly polarized photon beams of Egamma=1.5-2.4 GeV at 0.6

Semiconducting skutterudite CeFe$_4$P$_{12}$ is investigated by synchrotron x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (PES) and x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). Ce 3$d$ core-level PES and 3$d-4f$ XAS, in combination with single impurity Anderson model (SIAM) calculations, confirm features due to $f^0$, $f^1$ and $f^2$ configurations. The Ce 4$f$ density of states (DOS) indicates absence of a Kondo resonance at Fermi level, but can still be explained by SIAM with a small gap in non-$f$ DOS. While Ce 4$f$ partial DOS from band structure calculations are also consistent with the main Ce 4$f$ DOS, the importance of SIAM for core and valence spectra indicates Kondo semiconducting mixed valence for CeFe$_4$P$_{12}$, derived from strong hybridization between non-$f$ conduction and Ce 4$f$ DOS., Comment: 4pages, 4figures

We have explored the unknown structure of the phosphorus in the phase IV (P-IV phase) based on the first-principles calculations using the metadynamics simulation method. Starting from the simple cubic structure, we found a new modulated structure of a monoclinic lattice. The modulation is crucial to the stability of the structure. Refining further the structure by changing the modulation period, we have found the structure which shows the X-ray powder pattern in the best agreement with the experimental one.We can not exclude the possibility that the unknown structure of the phase IV of phosphorus is an incommensurately modulated one., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures

The full electroweak radiative correction is calculated for the process ee--> nunubarHH which is a window for the study of the Higgs potential at the future linear collider. The calculation is done by using GRACE, the automated system for the calculation of Feynman diagrams. The magnitude of the weak correction in the G-mu scheme is small in the high energy region where this process dominates over the ZHH production., Comment: 5 pages, LCWS05(Stanford, March 2005)

We describe our plan to develop a large-scale cluster system with a peak speed of 14.3Tflops for lattice QCD at the Center for Computational Sciences, University of Tsukuba, as a successor to the current 0.6Tflops CP-PACS computer. The system consist of 2560 nodes connected by a 16x16x10 three-dimensional hyper crossbar network. Each node has a single low-voltage 2.8GHz Xeon processor and 2GBytes of memory with 6.4GBytes/sec bandwidth, and 160 GBytes of disk in RAID1 mode. The network link in each of the three directions is made of dual Gigabit Ethernet with the peak throughput of 250MByte/sec. Hence each node has an aggregate network bandwidth of 750MByte/sec. The system will run under Linux and SCore, and an extension of the PM driver is developed for the network. The system will be developed jointly with Hitachi Limited. CP-PACS and JLQCD collaborations are carrying out a joint project of the 2+1 flavor full QCD simulation. Gauge configurations are generated for the non-perturbatively $O(a)$-improved Wilson quark action and the Iwasaki gauge action using PHMC algorithm at three lattice spacings, $a\sim 0.076$, 0.010 and 0.122 fm, with a fixed physical volume $(2.0 fm)^3$. We present analysis for the light meson spectrum and quark masses in the continuum limit, which are determined using data obtained from the simulations at the two coarser lattices. Our simulations reproduce experimental values of meson masses. The ud and strange quark masses turn out to be $m_{ud}^{\bar{MS}}(\mu=2 GeV)=3.34(23) MeV$ and $m_s^{\bar{MS}}(\mu=2 GeV)=86.7(5.9) MeV$. The $\eta$-meson photoproduction cross sections have been measured on the C and Cu targets for the photon energies between 600 and 1100 MeV to investigate the behavior of the $S_{11}$(1535) resonance in a nucleus. The excitation functions of the cross section as well as the angular and momentum distributions of $\eta$-mesons are in quantitative agreement with the Quantum Molecular Dynamics (QMD) model calculations in which the $\eta$-meson emission processes other than the $S_{11}$(1535) resonance are also incorporated as proposed in the $\eta$-MAID model. It is shown that the excitation of the $D_{15}$(1675) resonance might play an important role for $E_{\gamma}>900$ MeV., Comment: 16 pages 4 figures, submitted to Phys. Lett. B

We consider 2+1 flavor Wilson Chiral Perturbation Theory including the lattice spacing contributions of O($a^{2}$). We adopt a power counting appropriate for the unquenched lattice simulations carried out by the CP-PACS/JLQCD collaboration and compute the pseudo scalar meson masses to one loop. These expression are required to perform the chiral extrapolation of the CP-PACS/JLQCD lattice data., Comment: 18 pages

Photoproduction of $\phi$-meson on protons was studied by means of linearly polarized photons at forward angles in the low-energy region from threshold to $E_{\gamma}$= 2.37 GeV. The differential cross sections at $t = -|t|_{min}$ do not increase smoothly as $E_{\gamma}$ increases, but show a local maximum at around 2.0 GeV. The angular distributions demonstrate that $\phi$-mesons are photo-produced predominantly by helicity-conserving processes, and the local maximum is not likely due to unnatural-parity processes., Comment: 6 pages, error on the cross sections were corrected, accepted for publication in Phys. Circular and linear zone plates have been fabricated on the surface of silicon crystals for the energy of 8 keV by electron beam lithography and deep ion plasma etching methods. Various variants of compound zone plates with first, second, third diffraction orders have been made. The zone relief height is about 10 mkm, the outermost zone width of the zone plate is 0.4 mkm. The experimental testing of the zone plates has been conducted on SPring-8 and ESRF synchrotron radiation sources. A focused spot size and diffraction efficiency measured by knife-edge scanning are accordingly 0.5 mkm and 39% for the first order circular zone plate., Comment: 5 pages, 7 figures

We report on the Cu 1s resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) of Cu-O one-dimensional (1D) strongly correlated insulator systems with contrasting atomic arrangements, namely edge-sharing CuGeO3 and corner-sharing Sr2CuO3. Owing to good statistics of the high-resolution RIXS data, so far unresolved fine structures are revealed. Detailed photon-energy and momentum dependence of the RIXS spectra in comparison with theoretical calculations has clarified the natures of the low-energy charge excitations and hybridization of the electronic states., Comment: 4 pages, 3 color figures

Hard X-ray Photoemission spectroscopy (PES) of copper core electronic states, with a probing depth of $\sim$60 \AA, is used to show that the Zhang-Rice singlet feature is present in La$_2$CuO$_4$ but is absent in Nd$_2$CuO$_4$. Hole- and electron doping in La$_{2-x}$Sr$_x$CuO$_4$ (LSCO) and Nd$_{2-x}$Ce$_x$CuO$_4$ (NCCO) result in new well-screened features which are missing in soft X-ray PES. Impurity Anderson model calculations establish metallic screening as its origin, which is strongly suppressed within 15 $\text{\AA}$ of the surface. Complemented with X-ray absorption spectroscopy, the small chemical-potential shift in core levels ($\sim0.2$ eV) are shown to be consistent with modifications of valence and conduction band states spanning the band gap ($\sim1$ eV) upon hole- and electron-doping in LSCO and NCCO., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures

X-ray back diffraction from monolithic two silicon crystal plates of 25--150 um thick and a 40--150 um gap using synchrotron radiation of energy resolution deltaE=0.36 meV at 14.4388 keV shows clearly resonance fringes inside the energy gap and the total-reflection range for the (12 4 0) reflection. This cavity resonance results from the coherent interaction between the X-ray wavefields generated by the two plates with a gap smaller than the X-ray coherence length. This finding opens up new opportunities for high-resolution and phase-contrast X-ray studies, and may lead to new developments in X-ray optics., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures

The photo-production of $\phi$ mesons from Li, C, Al, and Cu at forward angles has been measured at $E_gamma$=1.5--2.4 GeV. The number of events for incoherent phi photo-production is found to have a target mass number dependence of $A^{0.72\pm 0.07}$ in the kinematical region of $|t|\le 0.6$ ${\rm GeV}^2/c^2$. The total cross section of the $\phi$-nucleon interaction, $\sigma_{\phi N}$, has been estimated as $35^{+17}_{-11}$ mb using the $A$-dependence of the $\phi$ photo-production yield and a Glauber-type multiple scattering theory. This value is much larger than $\sigma_{\phi N}$ in free space, suggesting that the $\phi$ properties might change in the nuclear medium., Comment: 12 pages 4 figures, submitted to Phys. Lett. B

CP-PACS and JLQCD Collaborations are carrying out a joint project of the 2+1 flavor full QCD with the RG-improved gauge action and the non-perturbatively ${\cal O}(a)$-improved Wilson quark action. This simulation removes quenching effects of all three light quarks, which is the last major uncertainty in lattice QCD. We performed the calculation of the full O(alpha) corrections to e+e- -> mu- nu-bar u d-bar with the help of the GRACE/1-LOOP system. We discuss how a finite decay width introduces a serious gauge invariance breaking, particularly for infrared 5-point functions. We present the full order alpha electroweak radiative corrections to e+e- -> e+e-H. The computation is performed with the help of GRACE-loop. The extraction of the full QED corrections is performed, these are quite large at threshold. The genuine weak corrections, for the linear collider energies, when expressed in the G_mu scheme are of order -2 to -4 for Higgs masses preferred by the latest precision data. We also extract the m_t^2 type corrections and make a comparison with the weak corrections for the process e+e- ->nu nu H., Comment: 16 pages and 6 figures

The $^{11}$B($^3$He$, t$), $^{11}$B($d, d'$), and $^{11}$B($p, p'$) reactions were measured at forward scattering angles including $0^\circ$ to study the isovector and isoscalar spin-flip M1 strengths in $^{11}$B. The measured $^{11}$B($^3$He$, t$) cross sections were compared with the results of the distorted-wave impulse-approximation (DWIA) calculation, and the Gamow-Teller (GT) strengths for low-lying states in $^{11}$C were determined. The GT strengths were converted to the isovector spin-flip M1 strengths using the isobaric analog relations under the assumption of the isospin symmetry. The isoscalar spin-flip M1 strengths were obtained from the ($d, d'$) analysis by assuming that the shape of the collective transition form factor with the same ${\Delta}J^\pi$ is similar in the $^{11}$B($d, d'$) and $^{12}$C($d, d'$) reactions. The obtained isovector and isoscalar strengths were used in the DWIA calculations for the $^{11}$B($p, p'$) reaction. The DWIA calculation reasonably well explains the present $^{11}$B($p, p'$) result. However, the calculated cross section for the 8.92-MeV 3/2$^-_2$ state was significantly smaller than the experimental values. The transition strengths obtained in the shell-model calculations were found to be 20-50% larger than the experimental strengths. The transition strengths for the neutrino induced reactions were estimated by using the isovector and isoscalar spin-flip M1 strengths. The present results are quantitatively in agreement with the theoretical estimation discussing the axial isoscalar coupling in the neutrino scattering process, and are useful in the measurement of the stellar neutrinos using the neutral- and charged-current reactions on $^{11}$B.

Using hard x-ray (HX ; $h\nu$ = 5.95 keV) synchrotron photoemission spectroscopy (PES), we study the intrinsic electronic structure of La$_{1-x}$Sr$_x$MnO$_3$ (LSMO) thin films. Comparison of Mn 2$p$ core-levels with Soft x-ray (SX ; $h\nu$ $\sim$ 1000 eV) -PES shows a clear additional well-screened feature only in HX-PES. Take-off-angle dependent data indicate its bulk ($\ge$ 20 {\AA}) character. The doping and temperature dependence track the ferromagnetism and metallicity of the LSMO series. Cluster model calculations including charge transfer from doping induced states show good agreement, confirming this picture of bulk properties reflected in Mn 2$p$ core-levels using HX-PES., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures; accepted for publication in Phys. Renormalization constants ($Z$-factors) of vector and axial-vector currents are determined non-perturbatively in quenched QCD for a renormalization group improved gauge action and a tadpole improved clover quark action using the Schr\"odinger functional method. Non-perturbative values of $Z$-factors turn out to be smaller than one-loop perturbative values by $O(15%)$ at lattice spacing of $a^{-1}\approx$ 1 GeV. The pseudoscalar and vector meson decay constants calculated with the non-perturbative $Z$-factors show a much better scaling behavior compared to previous results obtained with tadpole improved one-loop $Z$-factors. In particular, the non-perturbative $Z$-factors normalized at infinite physical volume show that scaling violation of the decay constants are within about 10% up to the lattice spacing $a^{-1}\sim 1$ GeV. The continuum estimates obtained from data in the range $a^{-1}=$ 1 -- 2 GeV agree with those determined from finer lattices ($a^{-1}\sim 2-4$ GeV) with the standard action., Comment: 19 pages, 18 eps figures. Large scale calculation for the radiative corrections required for the current and future collider experiments can be done automatically using the GRACE-LOOP system. Here several results for e+e- --> 3-body processes are presented including e+e- --> e+e-H and e+e- --> nu nubar gamma., Comment: 5 pages, contribution to ACAT03(Dec. 2003)

We report bulk-sensitive hard X-ray ($h\nu$ = 5.95 KeV) core level photoemission spectroscopy (PES) of single crystal V$_{1.98}$Cr$_{0.02}$O$_{3}$ and the high-$T_c$ cuprate Bi$_2$Sr$_{2}$CaCu$_{2}$O$_{8+\delta}$ (Bi2212). V$_{1.98}$Cr$_{0.02}$O$_{3}$ exhibits low binding energy "satellites" to the V $2p$ "main lines" in the metallic phase, which are suppressed in the antiferromagnetic insulator phase. In contrast, the Cu $2p$ spectra of Bi2212 do not show temperature dependent features, but a comparison with soft X-ray PES indicates a large increase in the $2p^5 3d^9$ "satellites" or $3d^9$ weight in the bulk. Cluster model calculations, including full multiplet structure and a screening channel derived from the coherent band at the Fermi energy, give very satisfactory agreement with experiments.

We have developed the system for the automatic computation of cross-sections, {\tt GRACE/SUSY}, including the one-loop calculations for processes of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the the standard model. A systematic study of the decay rates of antiprotonic helium (\pbhef and \pbhet) at CERN AD (Antiproton Decelerator) has been made by a laser spectroscopic method. The decay rates of some of its short-lived states, namely those for which the Auger rates $\gamma_{\mathrm{A}}$ are much larger than their radiative decay rates ($\gamma_{\mathrm{rad}} \sim 1$ $\mu$s$^{-1}$), were determined from the time distributions of the antiproton annihilation signals induced by laser beams, and the widths of the atomic resonance lines. High-energy (h$\nu$ = 5.95 keV) synchrotron Photoemission spectroscopy (PES) is used to study bulk electronic structure of Na$_{0.35}$CoO$_{2}$.1.3H$_{2}$O, the layered superconductor. In contrast to 3-dimensional doped Co oxides, Co $\it{2p}$ core level spectra show well-separated Co$^{3+}$ and Co$^{4+}$ ions. Cluster calculations suggest low spin Co$^{3+}$ and Co$^{4+}$ character, and a moderate on-site Coulomb correlation energy U$_{dd}\sim$3-5.5 eV. We present a lattice QCD calculation of the parameters \alpha and \beta which are necessary in the theoretical estimation of the proton lifetime in grand unified theories (GUTs) using chiral lagrangian approach. The simulation is carried out using the Wilson quark action at three gauge coupling constants in the quenched approximation. We obtain |\alpha(2GeV)|=0.0091(08)(^{+10}_{-19})GeV^3 and |\beta(2GeV)|=0.0098(08)(^{+10}_{-20})GeV^3 in the continuum limit where the first error is statistical and the second one is due to scale setting., Comment: 3 pages, 2 figures, talk presented at Lattice2003(matrix)

We report on a calculation of the light hadron spectrum and quark masses in three-flavor dynamical QCD using the non-perturbatively O(a)-improved Wilson quark action and a renormalization-group improved gauge action. Simulations are carried out on a 16^3 \times 32 lattice at \beta=1.9, where a^{-1} \simeq 2GeV, with 6 ud quark masses corresponding to m_{pi}/m_{rho} \simeq 0.64-0.77 and 2 s quark masses close to the physical value. We observe that the inclusion of dynamical strange quark brings the lattice QCD meson spectrum to good agreement with experiment. We study phonons in MgB2 using inelastic x-ray scattering (1.6 and 6 meV resolution). Our measurements show excellent agreement with theory for the dispersion and line-width: we clearly observe the softening and broadening of the crucial E2g mode through the Kohn anomaly along GM. Low temperature measurements (just above and below Tc) show negligible changes for the momentum-transfers investigated, and no change in the E2g mode at A between room temperature and 16K. We present the full order alpha electroweak radiative corrections to the double Higgs-strahlung process e+e- --> ZHH. The computation is performed with the help of GRACE-loop. After subtraction of the initial state QED radiative corrections, we find that the genuine weak corrections in the $\alpha$-scheme are small for Higgs masses and energies where this cross section is largest and is most likely to be studied. These corrections decrease with increasing energies attaining about $\sim -10%$ at $\sqrt{s}=1.5$TeV. The full order alpha correction on the other hand is quite large at threshold but small at energies around the peak. We also study changes in the shape of the invariant mass of the Higgs pair which has been shown to be a good discriminating variable for the measurement of the triple Higgs vertex in this reaction., Comment: 18 pages, 5 figures and 3 tables

We describe the main building blocks of a generic automated package for the calculation of Feynman diagrams. These blocks include the generation and creation of a model file, the graph generation, the symbolic calculation at an intermediate level of the Dirac and tensor algebra, implementation of the loop integrals, the generation of the matrix elements or helicity amplitudes, methods for the phase space integrations and eventually the event generation. The report focuses on the fully automated systems for the calculation of physical processes based on the experience in developing GRACE-loop. As such, a detailed description of the renormalisation procedure in the Standard Model is given emphasizing the central role played by the non-linear gauge fixing conditions for the construction of such automated codes. The need for such gauges is better appreciated when it comes to devising efficient and powerful algorithms for the reduction of the tensorial structures of the loop integrals. A new technique for these reduction algorithms is described. Explicit formulae for all two-point functions in a generalised non-linear gauge are given, together with the complete set of counterterms. We also show how infrared divergences are dealt with in the system. We give a comprehensive presentation of some systematic test-runs which have been performed at the one-loop level for a wide variety of two-to-two processes to show the validity of the gauge check. These cover fermion-fermion scattering, gauge boson scattering into fermions, gauge bosons and Higgs bosons scattering processes. Comparisons with existing results on some one-loop computation in the Standard Model show excellent agreement. We also briefly recount some recent development concerning the calculation of mutli-leg one-loop corrections., Comment: 131 pages. We present the full ${{\cal O}}(\alpha)$ electroweak radiative corrections to associated Higgs top pair production in $e^+e^-$ collisions. We combine these results with a new calculation of the full one-loop QCD corrections. The computation is performed with the help of {\tt GRACE-loop}. We find that the ${{\cal O}}(\alpha)$ correction can be larger than the ${{\cal O}}(\alpha_s)$ corrections around the peak of the cross section especially for a light Higgs mass. At threshold these corrections are swamped by the QCD corrections which are enhanced by the gluon Coulomb contribution. We have also subtracted the complete QED corrections and expressed the genuine weak correction both in the $\alpha$-scheme and the $G_\mu$-scheme. This reveals that the genuine weak corrections are not negligible and should be taken into account for a precision measurement of this cross section and the extraction of the Yukawa $t \bar t H$ coupling., Comment: 20 pages, 2 figures. only change is the addition of one note stating that all our results have now been confirmed by an independent calculation

We have measured twelve transition frequencies of the antiprotonic helium atom (pbar-He+) with precisions of 0.1--0.2 ppm using a laser spectroscopic method. The agreement between the experiment and theories was so good that we can put a limit on the proton-antiproton mass (or charge) difference. Beam polarization asymmetries for the p(gamma,K+)Lambda and p(gamma,K+)sigma0 reactions are measured for the first time for Egamma=1.5-2.4 GeV and 0.6

We present the full ${{\cal O}}(\alpha)$ electroweak radiative corrections to single Higgs production in \epemt. This takes into account the full one-loop corrections as well as the effects of hard photon radiation. We include both the fusion and Higgs-strahlung processes. The computation is performed with the help of {\tt GRACE-loop} where we have implemented a generalised non-linear gauge fixing condition. The latter includes 5 gauge parameters that can be used for checks on our results. Besides the UV, IR finiteness and gauge parameter independence checks it proves also powerful to test our implementation of the 5-point function. We find that for a 500GeV machine and a light Higgs of mass 150GeV, the total ${{\cal O}}(\alpha)$ correction is small when the results are expressed in terms of $\alpha_{{\rm QED}}$. The total correction decreases slightly for higher energies. For moderate centre of mass energies the total ${{\cal O}}(\alpha)$ decreases as the Higgs mass increases, reaching -10% for $M_H=350$GeV and $\sqrt{s}=500$GeV. In order to quantify the genuine weak corrections we have subtracted the universal virtual and bremsstrahlung correction from the full ${{\cal O}}(\alpha)$. We find, for $M_H=150$GeV, a weak correction slowly decreasing from -2% to -4% as the energy increases from $\sqrt{s}=300$GeV to $\sqrt{s}=1$TeV after expressing the tree-level results in terms of $G_\mu$, Comment: 16 pages, 3 figures.
