The collection of data, was realize trough the application of invulnerability social perception, demographic questionnaire, it aimed at characterize the conductor by the half structuralized interview with objective to know the actions of conductor at the flywheels. The sample basis was realizing by accessibility. The criteria include the qualified driver s with more than twenty points in they re driver s license. This application had 427 people, being 325 man and 102 women. The transgressions more committed were the serious for the both people stuff qualified between 6 and 15 years. In relation of invulnerability scale, the positive selfperception was superior than the sense of protection and creed at fellow invulnerability. The interviewees has in average 38 points in they re dossier, but consider they re self: cautiously, carefully and worriedly with others, and looking for to attempt the laws. The risk was associate with the idea of danger, caused damage to the other peoples or compromise the public security. The situations of risk were associates at the excessive volume of vehicles, high speed, not attendance at traffic laws, bad conservation of vehicles and absence of traffic signalizations. The perception of risks has much seen with singularity individual, in front of something with estimated the right probability. The evidence with the traffic transgressions occurred has to do with the social contest. To investigate about the possible psychologist variants in that contest also them function with big largeness. The application realized in Brazil at the traffic psychology, able on more step in the direction of comprehension of complex relation involving the human, the traffic and the environment.(AU) O presente estudo teve como objetivo verificar a percepção de situações de acidentes de trânsito por motoristas infratores; levantar dados sócio-demográficos, fatores de riscos e fatores de proteção de motoristas infratores, como também verificou a percepção de invulnerabilidade destes motoristas infratores. A coleta de dados foi realizada através da aplicação de Escala de Percepção de Invulnerabilidade, questionário sócio-demográfico que visou caracterizar o condutor, e entrevista semi-estruturada com finalidade de conhecer as ações do condutor ao volante. A amostra foi realizada por acessibilidade. Foi adotado como critério de inclusão na amostra motoristas habilitados que acumularam mais de vinte pontos em seu prontuário da Carteira de habilitação. O estudo teve um total de 427 sujeitos, sendo 325 do gênero masculino e 102 do gênero feminino. As infrações mais cometidas foram as gravíssimas para os sujeitos habilitados entre 6 e 15 anos, independente do gênero. Em relação à Escala de Invulnerabilidade, identificou-se que a autopercepção positiva foi superior ao senso de proteção e a crença na invulnerabilidade dos sujeitos. Os sujeitos entrevistados têm em média 38 pontos no prontuário, mas consideram-se motoristas cautelosos, atentos, cuidadosos, preocupados com os outros e que procuram obedecer às leis. Verificou-se que o risco está associado com a idéia de perigo, causar danos a outras pessoas ou comprometer sua segurança. As situações de risco estão associadas ao volume excessivo de veículos, alta velocidade, não obediência às leis de trânsito, veículos mal conservados e falta de sinalização. A percepção de riscos tem muito mais a ver com a singularidade do indivíduo diante de algum evento do que com uma estimativa correta de probabilidades. Constatou-se que os níveis elevados de ameaça sempre apresentam estratégias cognitivas de minimização do risco e do seu impacto. Constatou-se que as infrações de trânsito que ocorrem têm a ver com o contexto social. Investigar sobre as possíveis variáveis psicológicas nesse contexto também é uma tarefa de grande amplitude. Os estudos realizados nessa área da psicologia de trânsito no Brasil podem dar mais um passo em direção à compreensão da complexa rede de relações envolvendo o homem, o trânsito e o ambiente.(AU)

About 85% of that living in developing countries (WHO, 2006). In Brazil 21% of the population is in this age range, (IBGE, 2002). Adolescents are generally thought to be healthy, but it is recognizes the increase of the mortality in accident, suicide, violence, pregnancy related complication and other illnesses that are either preventable or treatable. The objective of this study is to investigate the situations of risk and protection to the health, for a low income adolescents. It is a qualitative descriptive study, carried through in the community of São Remo, São Paulo City, characterized for the poverty and the violence. The method used for collection of data was the focus group. 20 adolescents participated, divided in two groups, one of 12 to 14 years and another one of 15 to 18 years. Three meetings with each group were carried. The meetings were recorded, transcribed and the content of these data were analised according to Bardin (1977). The research results demonstrated that situations of risks to the health are consequence of the fragil familiar support, physical violence caused by third with emphasis in the police violence, psychological violence, test of social inclusion at school, use of drugs and transgressive behaviors. The factors of protection detected were: family, particulary the mother figure, religions, teacher as reference and future projects. The results demonstrate that the situations of risk to the health of low income adolescents are more evident than for those concerning protection. No mundo, um em cada cinco pessoas estão na faixa etária de 10 a 19 anos, sendo que 85% habitam países em desenvolvimento (WHO, 2006). Brasil, 21% do total da população está nesta faixa etária (IBGE, 2002). A adolescência é considerada um dos períodos mais saudáveis da vida humana, porém é reconhecido o aumento dos índices de mortalidade em acidentes, suicídios, violência, complicações na gestação e outras doenças que podem ser prevenidas ou tratadas. O objetivo deste estudo é investigar as situações de risco e de proteção à saúde e à vida, vivenciadas por um grupo de adolescentes de baixa renda. É um estudo descritivo qualitativo, realizado na Comunidade São Remo, município de São Paulo, caracterizada pela pobreza e violência. O método utilizado para a coleta de dados foi o grupo focal. Participaram 20 adolescentes, divididos em dois grupos, um de 12 a 14 anos e outro de 15 a 18 anos, foram realizadas três reuniões com cada grupo. As reuniões foram gravadas, posteriormente transcritas e os conteúdos foram analisado, segundo os propostos de Bardin (1977). Os resultados da pesquisa demonstraram que situações de riscos à saúde estão presentes na fragilidade do suporte familiar, violência física causada por terceiros (com ênfase na violência policial), violência psicológica, situações de exclusão social vivenciadas na escola, uso de drogas e condutas transgressoras. Os fatores de proteção detectados foram: família com ênfase na mãe, religiosidade, professor como referência e projetos futuros. Os resultados demonstram que as situações de risco à saúde são mais evidentes do que de proteção para este grupo de adolescentes de baixa renda.

We also use the Straus and Sweet (1992) definition of Psychological Violence. Our general goal was to identify the occurrence of matrimonial psychological violence among University students and correlation to risk factors. The specific goals were to verify any correlation between this and participants self-esteem, alcohol intake, age group, number of children and family income. Respondents could be of either genre, should be married or in a stable union, be aged between 16 and 60, as well as being students at Universidade Metodista de São Paulo (UMESP). The field research was conducted at UMESP and included students from undergraduate courses as well as other higher education courses. This is a descriptive research with a non-probability sample, determined by convenience. The instrument was answered by 246 people, chosen based on the sample inclusion criteria, all of whom had immediate availability to answer the instrument. Among the respondents, there were more women (145) than men (100). The instrument was composed of Conflict Tactic Scale Form R (CTS1), Rosenberg s Self-Esteem and Self-Concept Scale as well as an Adapted Social-Demographic Questionnaire. CTS1 was used to measure family violence, the Self-Esteem Scale verified people s positive or negative attitude towards themselves, while the questionnaire supplied supplementary data on personal and matrimonial information of respondents. 246 instruments were analyzed through the Statistical Treatment SPSS 13 for Windows. The results showed that approximately 30% of the respondents of both genres and the entire sample had a high level of psychological violence. We verified a tendency: the lower the self-esteem, the higher the level of psychological violence. We also found evidence that there is no linear correlation between this factor and the habit of alcohol intake or the quantity of alcohol consumed by respondents. This data is not corroborated by the researched literature, therefore, we found that alcohol in itself says little as a risk factor for the occurrence of psychological violence. Its articulation merits further planning and investigation by means of knowledge and actions which will contribute to the health of the population. We concluded that marital psychological violence is many times seen as trivial and made commonplace. A pesquisa aborda a violência psicológica tal como é definida pela Organização Mundial de Saúde (KRUG, 2002) Usamos também a definição de violência psicológica utilizada por Straus e Sweet (1992). Nosso objetivo geral foi identificar a ocorrência de violência psicológica conjugal entre estudantes universitários, e a correlação desta com fatores de risco. E os específicos foram verificar sua correlação com a auto-estima, a ingestão de álcool, a faixa etária, o número de filhos e o rendimento familiar dos participantes. Tivemos respondentes de ambos os gêneros, casados ou em união estável, com idades entre 16 e 60 anos e alunos da Universidade Metodista de São Paulo. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada na Universidade Metodista de São Paulo e abordou universitários da graduação, graduação tecnológica e cursos seqüenciais. Esta pesquisa é uma pesquisa descritiva e sua amostragem foi não-probabilística de conveniência, responderam ao instrumento 246 pessoas, que foram escolhidas com base nos critérios de inclusão e na sua disponibilidade imediata para responder à pesquisa. Obtivemos mais respondentes do gênero feminino (145) do que do masculino (100). O instrumento foi composto por: Escala de Táticas de Conflito (CTS1), Escala de Auto-Estima e Autoconceito de Rosenberg e um Questionário Sócio-demográfico Adaptado. A CTS 1 foi usada para medir a violência familiar, a escala de auto-estima foi usada para verificar a atitude positiva ou negativa das pessoas e o questionário foi usado para complementar dados sobre a história pessoal e conjugal dos respondentes. Foram analisados 246 instrumentos através do Estatístico SPSS 13,0 for Windows. Os resultados demonstraram que aproximadamente 30% das pessoas de ambos os gêneros e da amostra total apresentaram alto grau de violência psicológica. Verificamos que existe uma tendência de que quanto menor a auto-estima dos respondentes maior o grau de violência psicológica. Constatamos também a inexistência de correlação linear entre violência psicológica, costume de ingerir bebida alcoólica e quantidade de bebida alcoólica ingerida pelos respondentes. Este dado não é corroborado pela literatura pesquisada. Portanto, percebemos que o álcool em si diz pouco enquanto fator de risco para a ocorrência da violência psicológica. Sua articulação merece ser mais investigada e melhor delineada por meio da busca de conhecimentos e práticas que contribuam para a saúde da população. Este estudo objetivou associar o sobrepeso, obesidade I e II e Circunferência da Cintura (CC) com sintomas de ansiedade e depressão em adultos que buscavam primeiro atendimento médico nutricional para emagrecimento em consultório do município de Santos São Paulo - Brasil, mesmo os que já haviam tentado emagrecer anteriormente. Para coletar dados, foi utilizada uma ficha para caracterização do participante, Inventário IDATE para ansiedade traço estado, Inventário de Beck (BDI) para depressão, balança antropométrica para aferição do peso, altura e cálculo do Índice de Massa Corporal (IMC), fita métrica inelástica para aferir CC. Os dados dos 81 participantes demonstraram que 38% eram jovens, 36% casados, 63% possuíam nível superior completo, 45% alta renda familiar. Estavam em sobrepeso 56% e obesidade I 28%, e 64% apresentavam 77 a 100 cm de CC. A análise simples da distribuição dos sintomas de ansiedade e depressão na elevação do IMC e da CC demonstra que, conforme estes aumentam, a ansiedade e depressão diminuem. Houve alta ocorrência de sintomas de ansiedade traço (75%) estado (70%) de intensidade média baixa e de depressão mínima (64%) que decaem de freqüência conforme eleva o IMC e a CC, bem como redução de freqüência às consultas conforme eleva o IMC. Não houve casos de depressão grave. A análise estatística de Pearson não encontrou correlação entre IMC e CC com sintomas de ansiedade e depressão, o mesmo ocorrendo com o teste para associação Qui-quadrado. Os resultados sugerem ocorrer uma acomodação emocional do indivíduo às pressões causadas pela elevação do peso corporal e os participantes apresentavam-se, em sua maioria, hiporreativos, indiferentes ou insensíveis aos acontecimentos, com desinteresse geral ou falta de desejos aparentando resistência ao tratamento e apatia.

Methodology: It is a research of qualitative character with case study. The research was developed in three therapeutic home located in the city Santo André (SP); the subjects of the investigation were the 25 in habitants of these homes. The results were analyzed, according to the theoretical basis of Bardin. Final Considerations: The therapeutic home services show their efficient importance, all involved from managers to technicians realize the objective of the consolidation of this equipment that demands a process of daily construction. It was observed that the great preoccupation of the service is with people and their group relations that enable sharing among those who present different forms of contracts and autonomy. Thus, it was possible to realize an enrichment of the social reinsertion contracts. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo descrever e avaliar o impacto da implantação do programa De volta para casa, na consolidação da reforma psiquiátrica no Brasil. O método adotado foi a pesquisa quanti- qualitativa numa abordagem de estudo de caso. O local do estudo foi às três (03) residências terapêuticas localizadas no município de Santo André. Todos os 25 (vinte e cinco) moradores foram sujeitos da pesquisa, utilizamos como instrumentos: entrevista semi-estruturada, livro de anotações diárias e os prontuários. Os resultados forma analisados segundo Bardin (1979) construindo categorias que demonstrassem com clareza: o perfil sócio demográfico dos egressos de hospitais psiquiátricos, e demonstrasse os indicadores de qualidade e autonomia. Procurando focar a implementação do processo de reabilitação psicossocial com estes moradores.

The data were picked up between October 2005 and March 2006. The sampling was obtained by an interview of 40 men; all of them were male, with medium age around 70, 68 years old. This sample was compound by 20 people who were interviewed in The Center of Coexistence (CC) for the third age and 20 were interviewed in the streets and Parks around the City of São Caetano do Sul. Two questionnaires were used being one about Social Support Net and another structured specifically about quality of life, the WHOQOL bref. The present researce approaches the attendance institutions the toxicodependentes in the Valley of the Paraíba, São Paulo, Brazil and has as objective to describe and to argue the method of attendance adopted for the institutions, from the approach of the responsible ones. It is used semi-directed interview, the used method is content analysis and is searched ten institutions. The presence of formerdependents in the team and the regimen of internment predominates. It is marcante the lack of professionals of the health area and of professionals with formation in chemical dependence and 60% of the institutions they are therapeutical communities. It prevails, as attendance method, the work, disciplines it and the espiritualidade. It does not have evaluation of results and the goal is the abstinence. It has little systematic control by means of the competent agencies and the institutions do not fulfill minimum requirements for its functioning. However, exactly with the financial difficulties, lack of resources as well as of qualified professionals, these institutions promote cares to put in a home, feeding, hygiene and adaptation to a routine. Given the complexity in the field of the drogadependência, it is suggested diversity of treatment and intervention options Atualmente, verifica-se um aumento de oferta e de procura de substâncias psicoativas, e observa-se um aumento de instituições de assistência a essa demanda. A presente pesquisa aborda as instituições de atendimento a toxicodependentes no Vale do Paraíba, São Paulo, Brasil e tem como objetivo descrever e discutir o método de atendimento adotado pelas instituições, a partir do enfoque dos dirigentes. Utiliza-se a entrevista semi-dirigida, o método usado é análise de conteúdo e são pesquisadas dez instituições. Predomina a presença de exdependentes na equipe e o regime de internação. É marcante a carência de profissionais da área de saúde e de profissionais com formação em dependência química e 60% das instituições são comunidades terapêuticas. Prevalece, como método de atendimento, o trabalho, a disciplina e a espiritualidade. Não há avaliação de resultados e a meta é a abstinência. Há pouco controle sistemático por meio dos órgãos competentes e as instituições não cumprem requisitos indicados para o seu funcionamento. Contudo, mesmo com as dificuldades financeiras, falta de recursos bem como de profissionais qualificados, essas instituições promovem cuidados asilares, alimentação, higiene e adaptação a uma rotina. The aim of this work was investigate the influence of stress in the clinical expression of asthma and your association with the asthma attacks in children. The asthmatic children answered to a stress scale (LIPP E LUCARELLI, 1998) and their parents answered some questions about the frequency of symptoms and asthma attacks, sleep disturbance, school absenteeism, physical exercises limitations, frequency of use of medicines, their behavior during their child asthma attacks, the triggering agents of crises, their socio-economic status and education level. The results showed that the asthmatic children were more stressed than those from the control group, specially the children with severe asthma. Also, stress can intensify frequency of asthma attacks, physical exercises limitations, school absences and sleep disturbance. The children that had been diagnosed for a long period were less stressed. The results from this study suggest that stress can precipitate or exacerbate asthma attacks. That shows necessity of more researches to refine the knowledge about this subject. A asma é a doença crônica mais freqüente na infância e o stress é considerado um dos agentes desencadeantes e agravantes do broncoespasmo nesses pacientes. O objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar a influência do stress na expressão clínica da asma e sua associação com as crises em crianças. Para verificar a presença de stress, utilizou-se a Escala de Stress Infantil (LIPP E LUCARELLI, 1998) e por meio de um questionário aplicado aos pais, observou-se freqüência de sintomas e crises de asma, as alterações do sono, o absenteísmo escolar, as limitações à prática de atividade física, a freqüência de uso de broncodilatador, as condutas dos pais durante as crises de asma, os fatores associados ao desencadeamento das crises, o poder aquisitivo e o grau de instrução do chefe da família. Observou-se que as crianças com asma estavam mais estressadas que as crianças do grupo controle, principalmente aquelas com maior gravidade da doença. Os resultados indicam que a presença de stress pode intensificar a freqüência de sintomas da asma, a limitação à atividade física, o absenteísmo escolar e as interrupções do sono. O maior tempo de diagnóstico de asma implicou em menor ocorrência de stress, sugerindo a existência de um fator de adaptação à doença. Conclui-se que o stress é um fator importante no desencadeamento e agravamento das crises de asma nas crianças e observa-se a necessidade de maiores pesquisas na aérea para aprofundar os conhecimentos sobre esse assunto.

Tese de Doutoramento em Ciências Veterinárias, especialidade de Ciências Biológicas e Biomédicas Germline-encoded autoreactive natural antibodies (NAbs) of the IgM isotype are secreted and circulate as a result of basal immune system stimulation, and constitute an important first line of defense against microorganism invasion, bridging the innate and the adaptive immune responses. NAbs are mostly secreted by positively selected B1a cells, and have been claimed to have a protective role against autoimmunity. Nevertheless, NAbs binding to cell surface self-antigens could have implications in the initiation of autoimmunity. Article I focused on the genetic control of NAbs secretion in healthy mice. Importantly, interferon regulatory factor 4 (Irf4), a transcription factor required for plasma cell differentiation and antibody secretion, was identified as the most probable candidate for the control of homeostatic serum IgM levels in the mouse. Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a complex autoimmune disease that develops spontaneously in humans and is pathogenically similar in the non-obese-diabetic (NOD) mouse model. B cells are necessary in the NOD diabetogenic process, and the presence of anti-pancreatic beta cell antibodies is the earliest manifestation of T1D. Article II revealed that NOD peritoneal cavity B1a cells are more prone to spontaneously secrete NAbs that recognize pancreatic beta cell autoantigens, which could promote T1D either by enhancing professional antigen presentation of islet antigens, by activating the complement cascade or by directly promoting beta cell damage and self-antigens release. The studies reported in article III have explored these possibilities and have proven that NAbs of NOD B1a cells origin could bind and directly induce oxidative stress on pancreatic beta cells. Moreover, these studies have shown that NOD B1a cells have a lower threshold for innate-like stimulation and have established a link between NOD B1a cells properties, NAbs specificities and impact of IgM binding on beta cells physiology. Finally, article IV provides evidence that early treatment with antibodies that evoke NOD B1a cells proliferation and differentiation into IgM secreting cells correlates with T1D precipitation. In conclusion, this thesis has shown that Irf4 is a critical player in the genetic network that controls IgM secretion in healthy individuals, and that in the NOD mouse model of T1D, a lower threshold for innate like stimulation of peritoneal cavity B1a cells contributes to a naturally increased state of B1a cells activation and autoreactive IgM secretion, determining the initiation and/or contributing to the fueling of beta cells autoimmunity. RESUMO Secreção de IgM natural na saúde e na doença: controlo genético e papel na diabetes tipo 1 - Os autoanticorpos naturais (NAbs) da classe IgM existem no organismo na ausência de imunização e constituem uma primeira linha de defesa fundamental contra infecções. Os NAbs são secretados maioritariamente por células B1a e a sua ligação a autoantigénios na superfície celular pode ter implicações para a iniciação de autoimunidade. O trabalho descrito no artigo I focou-se na compreensão do controlo genético da secreção de NAbs em murganhos saudáveis. Este estudo identificou o interferon regulatory factor 4 (Irf4), um factor de transcrição necessário para a diferenciação de plasmócitos e secreção de anticorpos, como o candidato mais provável para o controlo da homeostasia dos níveis de IgM circulante no murganho. A diabetes tipo 1 (T1D) é uma doença autoimune complexa que se desenvolve espontaneamente nos humanos e que tem uma patogenia semelhante no murganho NOD (non-obese-diabetic). Os linfócitos B são necessários para o processo diabético do NOD, em que a presença de anticorpos anti-células beta pancreáticas é uma das manifestações mais precoces. O artigo II revelou que as células B1a da cavidade peritoneal do NOD têm uma elevada predisposição para secretarem NAbs que reconhecem autoantigénios de células beta pancreáticas e que podem promover o desenvolvimento de T1D quer pelo aumento da apresentação de autoantigénios, quer pela activação da cascata do sistema de complemento, quer pela indução directa de danos nas células beta pancreáticas. A investigação descrita no artigo III provou que os NAbs secretados por células B1a do NOD têm a capacidade de se ligarem e induzirem stress oxidativo nas células beta do pâncreas. Estes estudos revelaram ainda que as células B1a do NOD têm um limiar reduzido para activação inata e estabeleceram uma relação entre as propriedades das células B1a do NOD, as especificidades dos NAbs e o impacto da ligação de IgM na fisiologia das células beta. Finalmente, o artigo IV evidenciou que a indução de proliferação e diferenciação das células B1a em células secretoras de IgM contribui para o início da T1D. Esta tese demonstrou que o Irf4 é um factor de transcrição com um papel fundamental no controlo da secreção de IgM em animais saudáveis e que, no murganho NOD, as células B1a da cavidade peritoneal têm um menor limiar para estimulação inata, que contribui para o seu estado de activação e para a secreção de IgM autoreactiva, determinando a iniciação e/ou contribuindo para a progressão da diabetes tipo 1.
