Presents two letters to the editor referencing an editorial on declaration of war against the axis powers. Notion that the United States can buy its way out of danger and disaster, without having the courage to fight shoulder to shoulder with those who are on the battle-line, is contemptible; Failure of declaration of the U.S. intentions openly unable her to prosecute her attack upon German dictator Adolf Hitler effectively; Indication that the close vote on the draft-extension bill would overwhelmingly reject any proposal authorizing the use of the U.S. armed forces on the European continent; View that a measure to declare war would precipitate a national debate which would not only undermine American unity but would also interfere with the present efforts to aid those nations now engaged in combat with Nazi forces.
