212. Synthesis and characterization of pure P2- and O3-Na2/3Fe2/3Mn1/3O2 as cathode materials for Na ion batteries.

Abstract

The solid state synthesis and electrochemical characterization of pure P2- and O3-Na2/3Fe2/3Mn1/3O2 have been carried out. Both phases have been characterized with XRD, solid state NMR, and ICP techniques. The initial charge capacity of the P2-phase reached 114.7 mA h g−1 and was followed by a discharge capacity of 151.09 mA h g−1 within the voltage range of 4.2–1.5 V at C/10. The capacity retention gradually decreased to 122.83 mA h g−1 at the 10th cycle, and then remained stable up to the 15th cycle. The O3-phase resulted in a first charge capacity of 134.01 mA h g−1 with a discharge capacity of 157.47 mA h g−1 under the same experimental conditions. The capacity retention gradually decreased to 122.24 mA h g−1 at the 10th cycle but, as in the other polymorph, the capacity remained stable at least up to the 15th cycle. Although the voltage profile is slightly different, the overall electrochemical performance of both phases is shown to be very similar, which implies that, contrary to common belief, the electrochemical performance of this compound does not highly depend on the layer stacking sequence adopted by the material. Abstract

Las neumonías recurrentes pueden ser un indicativo de patología subyacente. Posibles causas serían las lesiones anató- micas, alteraciones funcionales orgánicas o trastornos inmunes secundarios. La hemoptisis también puede ser una mani- festación clínica secundaria de una enfermedad a cualquier nivel del tracto respiratorio. Caso clínico: Paciente de 18 años con antecedentes previos de neumonía, que ingresa con una nueva infección neumó- nica y hemoptisis leve asociada. Una vez resuelto el proceso infeccioso, se objetiva un secuestro pulmonar. Dada la persistencia clínica de la hemoptisis se decide tratar la lesión mediante embolización de las arterias nutricias.

Abstract

A novel organic ionic plastic crystal (OIPC) based on a quaternary ammonium cation and a tetrachloroferrate anion has been synthesized with the intention of combining the properties of the ionic plastic crystal and the magnetism originating from the iron incorporated in the anion. The thermal analysis of the obtained OIPC showed a solid–solid phase transition below room temperature and a high melting point above 220 °C, indicating their plastic crystalline behaviour over a wide temperature range, as well as thermal stability up to approximately 200 °C. The magnetization measurements show the presence of three-dimensional antiferromagnetic ordering below 4 K. The results from electrochemical characterization display a solid-state ionic conduction sufficiently high and stable (between 10−2.7 and 10−3.6 S cm−1 from 20 to 180 °C) for electrochemical applications.
