Board-to-board optical interconnection between optical waveguide channels is suitable for high-speed optoelectronic printed wiring boards (OE-PWBs). Here, we propose a novel optical interconnection method based on plug-in alignment between an optical waveguide plug (OWP) and a micro hole array (MHA). The OWP and MHA are prepared from UV-curable resin and fabricated by the mask transfer method. As they are well-aligned on the optical waveguide channels of the OE-PWBs, both optical circuits of the OE-PWBs can be interconnected easily. CeCoIn5 undergoes a phase transition within the superconducting (SC) state. A new superconducting state occupies a high field–low temperature (HFLT) corner of the SC state in the H– T plane, and is a strong candidate for realization of the spatially inhomogeneous Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov (FFLO) superconducting state predicted theoretically in 1960s. We present specific heat data on Cd- and Hg-doped CeCoIn5 that shows that the HFLT phase is suppressed by minute amount of impurities, few hundred parts per million. At this concentration, the average distance between impurities is close to twice the superconducting coherence length ξ, suggesting that ξ is the characteristic length of the HFLT state. Bilayer strontium ruthenate Sr3Ru2O7 displays pronounced non-Fermi liquid behavior at magnetic fields around 8 T, applied perpendicular to the ruthenate planes, which previously has been associated with an itinerant metamagnetic quantum critical end point (QCEP). We focus on the magnetic Grüneisen parameter ΒH, which is the most direct probe to characterize field-induced quantum criticality. We confirm quantum critical scaling due to a putative two-dimensional QCEP near 7.845(5) T, which is masked by two ordered phases A and B, identified previously by neutron scattering. In addition, we find evidence for a QCEP at 7.53(2) T and determine the quantum critical regimes of both instabilities and the effect of their superposition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: We report specific heat of in magnetic field along basal plane. The superconducting transition is not sharp first order-like in high fields and the specific heat at field 12T displays a sharp peak anomaly at 0.14K inside the superconducting state. We have synthesized single crystals of Na2(Ir1-xTix)O3 and polycrystals of Li2(Ir1-xTix)O3 and studied the effect of magnetic depletion on the magnetic properties by measurements of the magnetic susceptibility, specific heat, and magnetocaloric effect at temperatures down to 0.1 K. In both systems, the nonmagnetic substitution rapidly changes the magnetically ordered ground state into a spin glass, indicating strong frustration. While for the Li system the Weiss temperature ΘW remains unchanged up to x=0.55, a strong decrease |ΘW| is found for the Na system. This suggests that only for the former system magnetic exchange beyond nearest neighbors is dominating. This is also corroborated by the observation of a smeared quantum phase transition in Li2(Ir1-xTix)O3 near x=0.5, i.e., much beyond the site percolation threshold of the honeycomb lattice.
