201. DCUDP: scalable data transfer for high-speed long-distance networks.

Abstract

The emergence of high-speed long-distance networks has promoted the development of various new types of applications that are required to transfer bulk data efficiently. Because of the conservative additive increase and multiplicative decrease strategy, traditional TCP has a severe problem in utilizing bandwidth, which provides an opening for new classes of UDP-based protocols. This paper proposes a high-speed bulk data transfer protocol, Double Cubic UDP (henceforth DCUDP), which is built on top of UDP with rate control and reliability control. DCUDP improves the scalability of the protocol over high bandwidth-delay product networks through cubic-shaped rate control functions and employs a randomized algorithm to alleviate the impacts of continuous loss and loss synchronization. In addition, DCUDP introduces a novel high-precision user-space timer system to facilitate the data transfer. The experimental results demonstrate that DCUDP performs well in terms of bandwidth utilization, CPU utilization, intra-protocol fairness and round-trip time fairness, and exhibits favorable friendliness to standard TCP and high-speed TCP variants. 202. High-throughput multi-multicast transfers in data center networks.

Abstract

It is usual that the applications executed in data centers require the distribution of the same data from one node to others at various execution points and that some of them require to cope with multiple of these diffusions in parallel. Multicast-based communications are an alternative solution to sending data efficiently to multiple nodes. This paper proposes a novel technique which offers reliability and congestion control in the multi-multicast transfers in data center networks. The proposal is based on: (1) a new congestion control mechanism, which monitors the control information of the receivers, reducing the server injection rate, (2) taking advantage of the switch diffusion hardware, and (3) using IGMP snooping, which allows a network switch to multicast a packet just to the output links with host receivers joined to a multicast group. The implementation is made at user level and uses the UDP interface. Evaluation tests are performed in a CentOS-based cluster composed of 12 servers in the presence of multiple diffusions at the same time. Test results show improvements in the global bandwidth, avoid network saturation, and reduce overhead included by unicast communications in data transmission. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

203. Evaluation of redundant data storage in clusters based on multi-multicast and local storage.

Abstract

Cluster platforms have an important role in high performance computing (HPC). They execute cloud computing, data-intensive computing and data center applications, which are supported on distributed file systems. The implementation of data redundancy in these file systems provides a support for high availability and error tolerance. This work proposes an implementation of redundant data storage based on the storage included in the cluster nodes, instead of more expensive approaches with a dedicated storage and network, and on multi-multicast transfers, instead on unicast transfers, to perform the multiple simultaneous data diffusion required for implementing redundant data storage. The proposal applies a recently proposed congestion control scheme that adjusts the sender injection rate, taking into account control information from the receiver nodes and the storage technology available on the cluster nodes. The implementation takes full advantage of the switch diffusion hardware and of the IGMP snooping capability of current switches, which allows to multicast a packet just to the output links with receivers joined to a multicast group. It is made at the user level directly on the UDP interface. Evaluation tests with multiple simultaneous storage accesses were performed in a CentOS cluster. Test results show a more efficient use of the cluster storage. The global bandwidth improves by using hardware related to the storage (network and storage devices) more efficiently. Abstract

Oligodendrocytes are the myelin-forming cells in the CNS. They enwrap axons, thus permitting fast impulse transmission and exerting trophic actions on neurons. Demyelination accompanied by neurological deficit is a rather frequent condition that is not only associated with multiple sclerosis but has been also recognized in several other neurodegenerative diseases, including brain trauma and stroke, Alzheimer's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Recently, alterations of myelin function have been also reported in neuropsychiatric diseases, like depression and autism. Highly relevant for therapeutic purposes, oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) still persist in the adult brain and spinal cord. These cells are normally rather quiescent, but under specific circumstances, they can be stimulated to undergo differentiation and generate mature myelinating oligodendrocytes. Thus, approaches aimed at restoring myelin integrity and at fostering a correct oligodendrocyte function are now viewed as novel therapeutic opportunities for both neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases. Both OPCs and mature oligodendrocytes express purinergic receptors. For some of these receptors, expression is restricted at specific differentiation stages, suggesting key roles in OPCs maturation and myelination. Some of these receptors are altered under demyelinating conditions, suggesting that their dysregulation may contribute to disease development and could represent adequate new targets for remyelinating therapies. Here, we shall describe the current literature available on all these receptors, with special emphasis on the P2Y-like GPR17 receptor, that represents one of the most studied receptor subtypes in these cells. Мета даної роботи полягає в аналізі алгоритму взаємодії мереж ЗКС №7 і SIP в телекомунікаційних мережах на базі IMS при використанні різних транспортних протоколів, і обґрунтування вибору одного з них. В даній роботі розглядаються алгоритм трансляції трафіку мережі ЗКС №7 через мережу SIP при використанні протоколів UDP та SCTP. Проаналізовано продуктивність протоколів UDP та SCTP і експериментально визначено оптимальний протокол для процесу трансляції трафіку мережі ЗКС №7 через мережу SIP. На основі отриманих результатів надано рекомендації до використання протоколу UDP., The purpose of this work is to analyze the algorithm of interaction of SS7 and SIP networks in telecommunication networks based on IMS using different transport protocols, and justify the choice of one of them. In this paper, we consider the algorithm for translating traffic of the SS7 network over the SIP network using UDP and SCTP protocols. The performance of UDP and SCTP protocols was analyzed, and it was experimentally determined the optimal protocol for the process of broadcasting traffic of the SS7 network via the SIP network. Based on the obtained results, recommendations for the use of the UDP protocol are provided.

Abstract

Flight simulators represent a very useful tool in aircraft research and design, helping to predict the behavior of airplanes in certain situations. In this project, the X-Plane 11 ¿ight simulator and the Boeing 738 aircraft will be analyzed. The ¿rst part is an analysis of the descent modes and a description of how to apply them on the plane. The second part explains how to establish communication with the simulator either via Plugin or via an external program. This greatly facilitates the extraction and use of data. In this case, it has been decided to develop communication through an external program, speci¿cally via UDP. This method is the most indicated to meet the goal of this project. The last part is dedicated to approximate the unknown parameters within the simulator, by simulating multiple trajectories, using the tools developed in the previous parts. These parameters are the energy share factor (ESF), the drag coef¿cient in a zero lift situation, and the lift-induced drag coef¿cient. To obtain these values, the airplane routes have ¿rst been designed to be able to obtain all the possible information, then the data from these routes have been extracted and ¿nally, the least squares method has been applied. This has resulted in a model that is quite close to the one observed within the simulator.

211. A smart distributed automated and remote-controlled domestic System based on an ESP32 microcontroller and Wi-Fi communication

Abstract

The Project aims to design and implement an IoT application for the management of a smart home. In a way that is easy to implement, to help us monitor the status of the home and act on the devices remotely. To carry this out, several elements are needed: sensors, actuators and microcontrollers in the hardware part. In the software part, we will need an IDE to be able to program and compile the code. As well as a web page to monitor and control the status of the different actuators. Of course, it will also be necessary to use different types of communication to send and receive the data, based mainly on the Wi-Fi, HTTP and UDP protocols. The distribution of the home system will be as follows: a main room, called room 1, which will act as the main server and client number 1 in turn. This ESP32 will manage the monitoring and remote control centrally, through the web page that it will generate. Then, there are room 2 and room 3, one located in the bedroom and another one on the balcony. The sensors used in rooms 1 and 2 will be for light, temperature and motion detection. On the other hand, in room 3, the temperature sensor will be replaced by one for soil moisture. Control from the web page will only be possible if the manual mode is activated by means of a button. In case the manual mode is deactivated, the system will be automated. As a result, the actuators will turn on or off depending on whether motion is detected and the light and temperature levels received by the sensors. The automation will be distributed - each client will act on their own environment., El Projecte té com a objectiu dissenyar i implementar una aplicació IoT per a la gestió d'una llar intel·ligent. De manera que sigui de fàcil implementació, per ajudar-nos a monitoritzar l'estat de l'habitatge i actuar sobre els dispositius de manera remota. Per dur això a terme, ens seran necessaris diversos elements: sensors, actuadors i microcontroladors a la part de hardware. A la part de software, necessitarem un IDE per poder programar i compilar el codi. Així com una pàgina web per monitoritzar i controlar l'estat dels diferents actuadors. Per descomptat, també serà necessari l'ús de diferents tipus de comunicació per poder enviar i rebre les dades, basant-nos principalment en els protocols Wi-Fi, HTTP i UDP. La distribució de sistema domèstic serà la següent: una habitació principal, anomenada habitació 1 que actuarà com a servidor principal i client número 1 a la vegada. Aquest ESP32 gestionarà el monitoratge i el control remot de manera centralitzada, per mitjà de la pàgina web que generarà. Després, estan les habitacions 2 i 3. La primera localitzada al dormitori i la segona al balcó. Els sensors utilitzats en les habitacions 1 i 2 seran de llum, temperatura i detecció de moviment. En canvi, a l'habitació 3, es substituirà el de temperatura per un d'humitat de terra. El control des de la pàgina web només serà possible si des de la mateixa s'activa el botó de mode manual. En cas que el mode manual estigui desactivat, el sistema serà automatitzat. De manera que s'encendran o apagaran els actuadors depenent de si es detecta moviment i dels nivells de llum i temperatura que rebin els sensors. L'automatització serà distribuïda, és a dir, cada client actuarà sobre el seu propi entorn., El proyecto tiene como objetivo diseñar e implementar una aplicación domótica para la gestión de un hogar inteligente. De manera que sea de fácil implementación, para ayudarnos a monitorizar el estado de la vivienda y actuar sobre los dispositivos de manera remota. Para llevar esto a cabo, nos serán necesarios varios elementos: sensores, actuadores y microcontroladores en la parte de hardware. En la parte de software, necesitaremos un IDE para poder programar y compilar el código. Así como una página web para monitorizar y controlar el estado de los diferentes actuadores. Por supuesto, también será necesario el uso de diferentes tipos de comunicación para poder enviar y recibir los datos, basándonos principalmente en los protocolos Wi-Fi, HTTP y UDP. La distribución del sistema doméstico será la siguiente: una habitación principal, llamada habitación 1 que actuará como servidor principal y cliente número 1 a su vez. Este ESP32 gestionará la monitorización y el control remoto de manera centralizada, mediante la página web que generará. Después, están las habitaciones 2 y 3, la primera localizada en el dormitorio y la segunda en el balcón. Los sensores utilizados en las habitaciones 1 y 2 serán de luz, temperatura y detección de movimiento. En cambio, en la habitación 3, se sustituirá el de temperatura por uno de humedad del suelo. El control desde la página web solo será posible si desde la misma se activa mediante un botón el modo manual. En caso de que el modo manual esté desactivado, el sistema será automatizado. De manera que se encenderán o apagarán los actuadores dependiendo de si se detecta movimiento y de los niveles de luz y temperatura que reciban los sensores. La automatización será distribuida, es decir, cada cliente actuará sobre su propio entorno.

212. Control por voz de un robot Kuka

Abstract

L'arribada de la quarta revolució industrial, la Indústria 4.0, ja és una realitat. Cada vegada les empreses estan més sotmeses a canvis i innovacions i les que no s'aconsegueixin adaptar correran el risc de perdre quota de mercat. L'actual treball es focalitza precisament en tres branques de la Indústria 4.0: la robòtica col·laborativa, la intel·ligència artificial i les comunicacions industrials. En aquest projecte es dissenya i desenvolupa un assistent virtual integrat en una aplicació d'ordinador per a l'empresa de robòtica Kuka. L'objectiu principal és controlar per veu el robot col·laboratiu LBR iiwa, afegint a més funcionalitats addicionals com la recerca d'informació per Internet. Inicialment es fa una introducció a tots els aspectes d'interès previs a l'elaboració de l'assistent, on es veu què és la robòtica col·laborativa, com es processa el senyal de veu i com es realitza la comunicació entre l'assistent i el robot. A continuació, s'expliquen les decisions que s'han pres i com s'ha desenvolupat el projecte. D'una banda, l'assistent es programa amb Python, i s'utilitzen llibreries per al reconeixement i la reproducció de la veu. D'altra banda, el robot es programa en Java utilitzant el software Kuka Sunrise Workbench. La comunicació entre tots dos es realitza mitjançant el protocol UDP per la seva alta velocitat. El resultat de el projecte ha estat la creació de Kubot, un assistent virtual integrat en una aplicació amb la capacitat de controlar el robot LBR iiwa i de llegir informació de pàgines web. Entre les seves funcionalitats destaca el mode programació, que permet simular la programació del robot mitjançant ordres de veu. Estic molt content amb els resultats obtinguts i considero que donen a conèixer que la implementació d'un assistent virtual per al control de robots representa una opció molt vàlida i amb molta perspectiva de futur., La llegada de la cuarta revolución industrial, la Industria 4.0, ya es una realidad. Cada vez las empresas están más sometidas a cambios e innovaciones y las que no se consigan adaptar correrán el riesgo de perder cuota de mercado. El actual trabajo se focaliza precisamente en tres ramas de la Industria 4.0: la robótica colaborativa, la inteligencia artificial y las comunicaciones industriales. En este proyecto se diseña y desarrolla un asistente virtual integrado en una aplicación de ordenador para la empresa de robótica Kuka. El objetivo principal es controlar por voz el robot colaborativo LBR iiwa, añadiendo además funcionalidades adicionales como la búsqueda de información por Internet. Inicialmente se hace una introducción a todos los aspectos de interés previos a la elaboración del asistente, donde se ve qué es la robótica colaborativa, cómo se procesa la señal de voz y cómo se realiza la comunicación entre el asistente y el robot. A continuación, se explican las decisiones que se han tomado y cómo se ha desarrollado el proyecto. Por un lado, el asistente es programado en Python, y se usan librerías para el reconocimiento y la reproducción de la voz. Por otro lado, el robot se programa en Java utilizando el software Kuka Sunrise Workbench. La comunicación entre ambos se realiza mediante el protocolo UDP por su alta velocidad. El resultado del proyecto ha sido la creación de KuBot, un asistente virtual integrado en una aplicación con la capacidad de controlar el robot LBR iiwa y de leer información de páginas web. Entre sus funcionalidades destaca el modo programación, que permite simular la programación del robot mediante comandos de voz. Los resultados obtenidos son totalmente de mi agrado y considero que dan a conocer que la implementación de un asistente virtual para el control de robots representa una opción muy válida y con mucha perspectiva de futuro., The arrival of the fourth industrial revolution, Industry 4.0, is already a reality. The current project focuses precisely on three branches of Industry 4.0: collaborative robotics, artificial intelligence and industrial communications. This project consists in the design and development of a virtual assistant, integrated into a computer application for the robotics company Kuka. The main objective is to control the LBR iiwa robot using the voice, and adding additional functionalities such as searching for information over the Internet. The project starts with an introduction of different aspects of interest, such as what the collaborative robotics is, how the voice signal is processed and how does the communication between the assistant and the robot works. After, it is explained the decisions that have been made and how the project has been developed. On the one hand, the assistant is programmed in Python, with the use of different libraries that implement the voice recognition and reproduction. On the other hand, the robot is programmed in Java, using the Kuka Sunrise Workbench software. Communication between them is done through the UDP protocol, due to its high speed. The result of the project has been the creation of KuBot, a virtual assistant integrated into an application with the ability to control the LBR iiwa robot, and to read information from web pages. Among its functionalities, the programming mode stands out, which allows to simulate the programming of a robot using voice commands. Finally, I am very happy with the results obtained, and I consider that they show that the implementation of a virtual assistant to control a robot represents a very valid option with a big future.

213. Integración de plataforma robótica móvil en sistema de ensamblaje académico

Abstract

Aquest projecte integra la plataforma mòbil Robotino® de FESTO a la cadena de muntatge FAS200 de SMC. El nexe entre els dos sistemes és el robot SCARA Mitsubishi RH-3FH5515-D1-S15, que recull el producte acabat i el paletitza a la plataforma mòbil per al seu posterior transport a les zones de reposició de les estacions FAS200. Per formar un sistema compacte i coordinat s'han adoptat solucions hardware per al acoblament entre Robotino, SCARA, FAS200 i un operari de planta. A nivell software s'ha programat a l'entorn gràfic Robotino®View 4 el funcionament íntegre de Robotino, en RT Toolbox 2 la programació del robot RH-3FH5515-D1-S15 i en Arduino IDE la placa NodeMCU ESP32 per a una comunicació via WiFi entre Robotino ® i SCARA mitjançant el protocol UDP. Aquesta memòria detalla els passos anteriors, així com els problemes trobats en el transcurs, amb l'objectiu de crear documentació pràctica i profitosa per a l'elaboració de futurs projectes., Este proyecto integra la plataforma móvil Robotino® de FESTO en la cadena de montaje FAS200 de SMC. Esta memoria detalla los pasos anteriores, así como los problemas encontrados en el transcurso, con el objetivo de crear documentación práctica y provechosa para la elaboración de futuros proyectos., This project integrates the FESTO mobile platform Robotino® into SMC's FAS200 assembly line. The connection between both systems is the Mitsubishi RH-3FH5515-D1-S15 SCARA robot, which picks up the assembled product and palletises it on the mobile platform to transport them to the replenishment areas of the FAS200 stations. To form a compact and coordinated system, hardware solutions have been created to join together Robotino, SCARA, FAS200 and a plant operator. Different software has been used. Robotino has been programmed in the Robotino®View 4 graphical environment, RT Toolbox 2 to programme the RH-3FH5515-D1-S15 robot and Arduino IDE for the NodeMCU ESP32 development board to establish a communication via WiFi between Robotino ® and SCARA using the UDP protocol. This report explains all this steps in detail, as well as the problems throughout the progress, with the aim of creating practical and useful documentation for the development of future projects.

L'arribada de la quarta revolució industrial, la Indústria 4.0, ja és una realitat. Cada vegada les empreses estan més sotmeses a canvis i innovacions i les que no s'aconsegueixin adaptar correran el risc de perdre quota de mercat. L'actual treball es focalitza precisament en tres branques de la Indústria 4.0: la robòtica col·laborativa, la intel·ligència artificial i les comunicacions industrials. En aquest projecte es dissenya i desenvolupa un assistent virtual integrat en una aplicació d'ordinador per a l'empresa de robòtica Kuka. L'objectiu principal és controlar per veu el robot col·laboratiu LBR iiwa, afegint a més funcionalitats addicionals com la recerca d'informació per Internet. Inicialment es fa una introducció a tots els aspectes d'interès previs a l'elaboració de l'assistent, on es veu què és la robòtica col·laborativa, com es processa el senyal de veu i com es realitza la comunicació entre l'assistent i el robot. A continuació, s'expliquen les decisions que s'han pres i com s'ha desenvolupat el projecte. D'una banda, l'assistent es programa amb Python, i s'utilitzen llibreries per al reconeixement i la reproducció de la veu. D'altra banda, el robot es programa en Java utilitzant el software Kuka Sunrise Workbench. La comunicació entre tots dos es realitza mitjançant el protocol UDP per la seva alta velocitat. El resultat de el projecte ha estat la creació de Kubot, un assistent virtual integrat en una aplicació amb la capacitat de controlar el robot LBR iiwa i de llegir informació de pàgines web. Entre les seves funcionalitats destaca el mode programació, que permet simular la programació del robot mitjançant ordres de veu. Estic molt content amb els resultats obtinguts i considero que donen a conèixer que la implementació d'un assistent virtual per al control de robots representa una opció molt vàlida i amb molta perspectiva de futur. El actual trabajo se focaliza precisamente en tres ramas de la Industria 4.0: la robótica colaborativa, la inteligencia artificial y las comunicaciones industriales. En este proyecto se diseña y desarrolla un asistente virtual integrado en una aplicación de ordenador para la empresa de robótica Kuka. El objetivo principal es controlar por voz el robot colaborativo LBR iiwa, añadiendo además funcionalidades adicionales como la búsqueda de información por Internet. Inicialmente se hace una introducción a todos los aspectos de interés previos a la elaboración del asistente, donde se ve qué es la robótica colaborativa, cómo se procesa la señal de voz y cómo se realiza la comunicación entre el asistente y el robot. A continuación, se explican las decisiones que se han tomado y cómo se ha desarrollado el proyecto. Por un lado, el asistente es programado en Python, y se usan librerías para el reconocimiento y la reproducción de la voz. Por otro lado, el robot se programa en Java utilizando el software Kuka Sunrise Workbench. La comunicación entre ambos se realiza mediante el protocolo UDP por su alta velocidad. El resultado del proyecto ha sido la creación de KuBot, un asistente virtual integrado en una aplicación con la capacidad de controlar el robot LBR iiwa y de leer información de páginas web. Entre sus funcionalidades destaca el modo programación, que permite simular la programación del robot mediante comandos de voz. Los resultados obtenidos son totalmente de mi agrado y considero que dan a conocer que la implementación de un asistente virtual para el control de robots representa una opción muy válida y con mucha perspectiva de futuro. The arrival of the fourth industrial revolution, Industry 4.0, is already a reality. Companies are increasingly subject to changes and innovations and those that fail to adapt will run the risk of losing market share. The current project focuses precisely on three branches of Industry 4.0: collaborative robotics, artificial intelligence and industrial communications. This project consists in the design and development of a virtual assistant, integrated into a computer application for the robotics company Kuka. The main objective is to control the LBR iiwa robot using the voice, and adding additional functionalities such as searching for information over the Internet. The project starts with an introduction of different aspects of interest, such as what the collaborative robotics is, how the voice signal is processed and how does the communication between the assistant and the robot works. After, it is explained the decisions that have been made and how the project has been developed. On the one hand, the assistant is programmed in Python, with the use of different libraries that implement the voice recognition and reproduction. On the other hand, the robot is programmed in Java, using the Kuka Sunrise Workbench software. Communication between them is done through the UDP protocol, due to its high speed. The result of the project has been the creation of KuBot, a virtual assistant integrated into an application with the ability to control the LBR iiwa robot, and to read information from web pages. Among its functionalities, the programming mode stands out, which allows to simulate the programming of a robot using voice commands. Finally, I am very happy with the results obtained, and I consider that they show that the implementation of a virtual assistant to control a robot represents a very valid option with a big future.

Rad predlaže potencijalno rješenje za udaljeno upravljanje bespilotnom letjelicom putem mreže Internet. Ostvareni informacijski sustav sačinjen je od sklopovske i programske izvedbe. Opisuje se sklopovska izvedba informacijskog sustava koja obuhvaća bespilotnu letjelicu, koordinacijski poslužitelj koji zaprima naredbe od korisnika i poslužuje video sadržaj korisniku, sklopovlje koje se pričvršćuje na tijelo letjelice, nužno za ostvarenje pristupa mreži Internet i posredovanje podacima, te napajanje dodatnog sklopovlja. Povrh spomenutog sklopovlja izvedena je programska implementacija informacijskog sustava nužna za prijenos naredbi i video podataka. Pregledavaju se problemi koji se javljaju za vrijeme ispitivanja rada informacijskog sustava te se predlažu rješenja. The thesis paper proposes a potential solution for remote drone control via the Internet. The information system consists of hardware and software implementations. Paper describes the hardware implementation of the information system, which includes the drone, the coordination server that receives commands from the user and serves video content to the user, additional hardware that attaches to the body of the drone, necessary for Internet access and data transmission, and power supply needed for the additional hardware. The software implementation of the information system, necessary for the transmission of commands and video data, is built on top of the mentioned hardware. Problems that occur during the testing of the information system are reviewed and solutions to those problems are proposed.

Internet stvari je sve rašireniji u svakodnevici ljudi u kojoj pametni uređaji dozvoljavaju automatizaciju i kreiranje novih procesa. Stoga je sustave Interneta stvari potrebno osigurati dostupnim sigurnosnim mehanizmima. Kroz rad se obrađuju definicija, referentni model koji opisuje slojeve sustava, područja primjene i trendovi Interneta stvari. Definiraju se zahtjevi vezani uz sigurnost i privatnost sustava i korisnika te najčešći sigurnosni propusti u takvim sustavima. Provodi se analiza i komparacija sigurnosnih mehanizama određenih uređaja i protokola složaja Interneta stvari. Opisuje se implementacija sustava za praćenje kretanja tjelesne temperature, njegova arhitektura, dijelovi sustava te se provodi sigurnosna analiza cijelog sustava. The Internet of Things is becoming more widespread in people's everyday lives, where smart devices allow automation and creation of new processes. Therefore, IoT systems need to be secured with available security mechanisms. The paper deals with the definition, the reference model that describes the layers of the system, the areas of application and the trends of the Internet of Things. The requirements related to the security and privacy of systems and users as well as the most common security flaws in such systems are defined. The analysis and comparisons of security mechanisms of certain devices and protocols of the Internet of Things protocol stack are performed. The implementation of the system for monitoring the change of body temperature, its architecture and parts of the system are described, and a safety analysis of the entire system is performed.

Abstract

U okviru ovog završnog rada razvijen je sustav pametne brave kojim se upravlja udaljeno putem Android aplikacije. Za izvedbu sustava korišten je razvojni hardver za mikrokontrolere STM32F4 i NodeMCU ESP8266, SG90 servo motor, posrednički UDP server za prijenos poruka među klijentima te dvije inačice Android aplikacije. STM32F4 mikrokontroler izravno upravlja pametnom bravom kontrolirajući zakret servo motora SG90. Udaljeni pristup STM32F4 mikrokontroleru omogućen je preko interneta i Wi-Fi mreže, pri čemu povezivost omogućuje NodeMCU ESP8266 s kojim glavni mikrokontroler komunicira putem USART sučelja i AT komandi. Posrednički server razmijenjuje poruke prema UDP protokolu između NodeMCU ESP8266 i Android aplikacije, a razvijen je u programskom jeziku Python. Android aplikacija omogućuje upravljanje pametnom bravom od strane krajnjeg korisnika, kao i upravljanje ovlaštenjima korisnika i njihovim pristupom pametnoj bravi. Razvijeni sustav predstavlja tipični primjer primjene IoT paradigme, a moguće ga je uz manje preinake koristiti i za druge slične primjene kod upravljanja resursima pametne kuće. In this work a smart lock system controlled remotely via an Android application was developed. The system was implemented by means of STM32F4 and NodeMCU ESP8266 development kits, SG90 servo motor, UDP server for message exchange between clients, and two versions of the Android application. The STM32F4 microcontroller directly controls the smart lock by controlling the angle of SG90 servo motor. Remote access to STM32F4 microcontroller is enabled via the Internet and Wi Fi network, where connectivity is provided by the NodeMCU ESP8266, which communicates with the main microcontroller by means of USART interface and AT commands. The message broker server exchanges the messages between the NodeMCU ESP8266 and the Android application using the UDP protocol, and it was developed in the Python programming language. The Android application enables the end user to manage the smart lock, as well as the management of user permissions and their access to the smart lock. The developed system is a typical example of the IoT paradigm application, and it is possible to upgrade it with slight modifications for other similar applications in smart home resource management.

This paper analyzes latency in a High-Speed Packet Access network appropriately resourced for emulated Machine-to-Machine and Online Gaming traffic. Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) are used for conveying application data and the measurement results from the end-user perspective are compared. In TCP case, traffic traces were recorded in two points of the core network as well (Gn interface and the firewall), and the overall delay is dissected to portions belonging to different parts of the network (access, core, backbone). The diversity of the traffic patterns used made it possible to draw conclusions concerning selectivity of certain parts of the network towards different traffic patterns, indicating the direction of future research on reducing latency for subject emerging application domains in legacy networks. Abstract

Müller cells, the primary macroglia of the retina, support various functions of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs). Here, we demonstrate a nucleotide-mediated communication between these two types of cells, by which Müller cells control neurite outgrowth of RGCs by activation of P2 receptors such as P2Y6. Cultured mouse RGCs had significantly enhanced neurite outgrowth when cultured with either cultured mouse Müller cells or conditioned medium derived from Müller cells, and this was completely inhibited by the nucleotide-degrading enzyme, apyrase. This increase in outgrowth was mimicked by exogenously applied nucleotides such as ATP, uridine triphosphate, and uridine diphosphate. Pharmacological and genetic analysis revealed that P2Y6 receptor in RGCs was responsible for the increased neurite outgrowth. P2Y6 receptor was expressed in the ganglion cell layer of the retina and in RGC primary cultures. High performance liquid chromatography has revealed that Müller cells constitutively release uridine triphosphate, which is immediately metabolized into uridine diphosphate, an endogenous agonist for P2Y6 receptor. In the in vitro ocular hypertension model (i.e., glaucoma model), neurite outgrowth in RGCs was significantly reduced, which was associated with a decrease in P2Y6 receptors. Taken together, Müller cells control neurite outgrowth of RGCs by activating P2 receptors such as P2Y6 receptor, and the receptor expression level might be down-regulated in glaucoma. P2Y 6 receptor (P2Y 6 -R) is involved in various physiological and pathophysiological events. With a view to set rules for the design of UDP-based reversible P2Y 6 -R antagonists as potential drugs, we established structure–activity relationship of UDP analogues, bearing modifications at the uracil ring, ribose moiety, and the phosphate chain. For instance, C5-phenyl- or 3-NMe-uridine-5′-α,β-methylene-diphosphonate, 16 and 23 , or lack of 2′-OH, in 12 – 15 , resulted in loss of both agonist and antagonist activity toward hP2Y 6 -R. However, uridylyl phosphosulfate, 19 , selectively inhibited hP2Y 6 -R (IC 50 112 μM) versus P2Y 2 / 4 -Rs. In pattern recognition, feature extraction techniques have been widely employed to reduce the high dimensionality of data. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm called fuzzy local discriminant embedding (FLDE) based on the unsupervised discriminant projection criterion and fuzzy set theory for image feature extraction and recognition. In the proposed method, a membership degree matrix is firstly calculated using the fuzzy k -nearest neighbor (FKNN) algorithm, and then the membership degree and the label information are incorporated into the definition of the weighted matrices to get the fuzzy local scatter and fuzzy nonlocal scatter. After characterizing the fuzzy nonlocal scatter and the fuzzy local scatter, a concise feature extraction criterion is derived via maximizing the ratio between them. We present the performance of fixed-length, variable-capacity (FL-VC) packets in optical packet-switching (OPS) networks. We show how FL-VC achieves an effective balance between implementation feasibility and performance of the applications using the network. Focusing on metropolitan area networks and real-world file distributions, we also show that an adequate selection of packet duration leads to nearly optimal application throughput with respect to conventional variable-length, fixed-bit-rate packets (VL-FBR), and that this optimal packet duration is robust against changes in the workload. Finally, we show that a single fiber delay line per OPS switch managed by a first-fit scheduler can increase throughput to levels similar to those obtained by random access buffers. Although most of the data traffic in Internet is HTTP-based, multimedia applications will soon dominate a large percentage of the traffic. These applications require satisfactory level of bandwidth as they normally have large datasets. Under the limitation of network bandwidth, multimedia traffic may become a source for congestion; particularly when UDP is used due to the absence of flow control or congestion control mechanisms in this protocol. Avoiding congestion can be done if arrival rate to gateways is maintained close to outgoing link capacity while maintain small queue lengths at the routers. This guarantees the availability of buffer capacity for successful buffering and consequent forwarding in case of temporary traffic upsurges which could otherwise cause buffer overflows and packet loss. This research work introduces a congestion-aware and friendly UDP-based multimedia system which can help to lessening congestion occurrence and improve network performance, principally in real-time environments. Abstract

The uridine nucleotides uridine-5′-triphosphate (UTP) and uridine-5′-diphosphate (UDP) have previously been identified in media from cultured cells. However, no study to date has demonstrated their presence in brain extracellular fluid (ECF) obtained in vivo. Using a novel method, we now show that UTP and UDP, as well as uridine, are detectable in dialysates of striatal ECF obtained from freely-moving rats. Intraperitoneal (i.p.) administration of uridine or exposure of striatum to depolarizing concentrations of potassium chloride increases extracellular uridine, UTP and UDP, while tetrodotoxin (TTX) decreases their ECF levels. Розглядається як повідомлення доставляється з однієї комп’ютерної системи в іншу, та яка роль транспортного рівня в цьому процесі. Досліджено способи створення власних протоколів транспортного рівня або модифікація вже існуючих. Розроблене програмне забезпечення використовує сирі сокети (англ. raw sockets) для написання імплементації нового протоколу, який оптимізує транспортування певного формату даних, а саме – JSON. Для імплементації було обрано мову програмування C#, фреймворк для роботи з форматом даних JSON Json.NET та вбудована бібліотека для роботи з сокетами. Результатом роботи над дипломним проєктом є API для надсилання на отримання повідомлень у форматі JSON. The qualification work includes an explanatory note (50 p, 20 figures, 9 tables). The diploma project is devoted to the investigation of data transmission in the network, in particular based on the UDP protocol. It examines how a message is delivered from one computer system to another, and what is the role of the transport layer in this process. Methods for creating your own transport layer protocols or modifying existing ones have been investigated. The developed software uses Raw sockets to write the implementation of a new protocol that optimizes the transport of a specific data format, namely JSON. For implementation, the C # programming language, a framework for working with the JSON Json.NET data format and a built-in library for working with sockets were chosen. The result of the work on the diploma project is the API for sending and receive messages in a JSON format.

Though Jumbo frame was introduced with large payload size to mitigate the bottleneck of Ethernet frame in the gigabit network with continuous traffic, yet it is not ratified by any standardization committee. The performance of Jumbo frame has been explored by many researchers using TCP as transmission protocol, so we present experimentation on Jumbo frame and Ethernet frame on IPv4 and IPv6 network using UDP protocol. One-way-delay and jitter are measured for various jumbo size data packets on Windows 8 platform using D-ITG as the simulation tool. In this paper, we propose a novel file-sharing system called Local Cloud Storage (LCS), based on the leading-edge device called "wireless memory" such as Eye-Fi and Flash Air. Most interesting point is that wireless configuration of multiple devices is previously configured to communicate with each other. As a result, these devices are recognized as just a memory on operating systems. If a user adds a file into the mounted memory, the file is distributed to other memory via the pre-configured wireless connection unconsciously. In addition to the concept of LCS, we also propose a novel Cross-layer Simultaneous Data Transmission Mechanism (CSDTM) based on UDP broadcast in 802.11 for accelerating single-hop data simultaneous distribution between devices. Of course, a normal TCP can be adopted for data transmission in LCS. However, by adopting UDP broadcast, we can realize simultaneous data transmission to multiple receivers. Since UDP broadcast in wireless network is so unreliable, it hasn't been used for data transmission. However, by adding our designed application layer retransmission mechanism, CSDTM achieves 100% data transmission in our assumed environment. Deploying networked control systems (NCSs) over wireless networks is becoming more and more popular. However, the widely-used transport layer protocols, Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP), are not designed for real-time applications. Therefore, they may not be suitable for many NCS application scenarios because of their limitations on reliability and/or delay performance, which real-control systems concern. Considering a typical type of NCSs with periodic and sporadic real-time traffic, this paper proposes a reliable real-time transport layer protocol (RRTTP) featuring a packet loss-sensitive retransmission mechanism and a prioritized transmission mechanism. The packet loss-sensitive retransmission mechanism is designed to improve the reliability of both real-time traffic flows. And the prioritized transmission mechanism offers differentiated services for periodic and sporadic flows. Simulation results show that RRTTP has better reliability than UDP and improved delay performance than TCP over wireless networks. Power Line Communication (PLC) or Broadband over Power Line (BPL) is an interesting approach in establishing last mile broadband access in rural areas. The most interesting aspect regarding PLC is the ability to use existing infrastructure for signal transmission, reducing deployment costs. Until recently the biggest problem for PLC was the low distance coverage and low data rate which was eliminated with the introduction of new standards. However, even thought new standards guarantee high data rates the practical implementation of these technologies for the use as a last mile solution is not present. In this paper we propose a basic set of measurements conducted on a laboratory test bed for the purpose of analyzing the possibility of PLC use in last mile broadband access. The measurements include the analysis of two contemporary PLC technologies in several scenarios versus TCP and UDP throughput. By analyzing given results it can be concluded that PLC has the ability to replace LAN network as a last mile solution, however it has some disadvantages primarily being the shared medium (power line). This paper analyzed the UDP transport flows generated with different packet sizes on IPv4 and IPv6 64-bit operating systems, Windows 7 and Linux Ubuntu 12. The measurement results show that IPv4 systems achieves greater throughput values than IPv6 systems for the same size of UDP packets. Several types of IPv6 transition mechanisms have been developed to facilitate the migration of IPv4 to the new protocol, IPv6. This paper focuses on the evaluation of the transition mechanisms namely 6to4 tunneling in terms of data transmission. The assessment is based upon experimental work that is conducted on a controlled environment. User-to-user network performance software is used to obtain the throughput, round trip time and tunneling overhead for TCP and UDP transmission protocol. The performance of TCP and UDP through 6to4 tunnel is then compared over the native IPv4 and IPv6 environment. The purpose of this standard is to support interoperability among DSRC applications. We installed three WAVE Boxes and PCs in ARTC's test-bed. We set a WAVE Boxes to be a jammer. The jammer can simulate many cars to interfere the communication. After experimented, we can understand the issues needed to consider for the design of the DSRC radio test under heavy channel load, providing the designers for reference in the future not only to solve problems but also help to setup a test-bed for testing DSRC radio under heavy channel load. Nas Redes Definidas por Software (SDN) a separação entre o plano de controlo e o plano dados permite uma maior flexibilidade na monitorização sobre as redes informáticas com uso deste novo paradigma. Perceber como isto pode afetar o desempenho de uma rede é considerado pelos investigadores como um dos desafios para o uso de SDN e que necessita de estudo. Nesta dissertação são apresentadas análise de performance em topologias que estão presentes como recursos informáticos, tendo a framework SDN como base, e ainda com carga de tráfego através dos protocolos TCP e UDP. Cada topologia em uso nos testes possui 3 tipos de variações, definidas com o número de hosts cliente, no número de dispositivos intermédios e na disposição dos dispositivos intermédios na topologia. As topologias foram criadas, linhas de código de sua programação foram adequadas ao trabalho, e ainda testadas e apurados os resultados com uso do software simulador de redes SDN denominado Mininet. Para a carga de tráfego na rede do simulador e os resultados na forma de relatório sobre as métricas dos protocolos fez-se o uso do software Iperf. As métricas utilizadas na análise dos resultados são a largura de banda no uso do protocolo TCP, a largura de banda, o jitter e o percentual de pacotes perdidos no uso do protocolo UDP. Na análise da largura de banda para o protocolo TCP, o valor deste parâmetro diminui quando no aumento do número de hosts cliente, semelhante ao que acontece com o protocolo UDP. Para um caso com muitos hosts clientes, em ambos os protocolos, a melhor topologia usa esquema em árvore, com a divisão destes hosts de forma uniforme entre os dispositivos intermédios da rede SDN.

In this project a framework for the validation and evaluation of IPSec security protocols is carried out within a Windows server in which secure connection rules are implemented with IPSec which provide a connectivity that protects the information between client - server, this is intended to provide security to prevent theft of information handled by the EcuCiencia laboratory using the TCP connection, in which the information is encapsulated by ESP and a dynamic exchange of passwords using KerberosV5. De hecho, durante este último año este proceso se ha acentuado aún más por la pandemia COVID-19 que impide viajes, reuniones… etc. En este contexto, las empresas demandan cada vez más recursos y calidad en el servicio, puesto que de ello depende el correcto funcionamiento de la compañía. Ante el aumento de esta demanda, las operadoras se han visto obligadas a ofrecer herramientas a sus clientes para que puedan comprobar que se está cumpliendo con el acuerdo de nivel de servicio. Sin embargo, estas herramientas utilizan habitualmente técnicas basadas en el protocolo TCP (por ejemplo, iperf) que han resultado ser poco eficientes en determinadas ocasiones, puesto que es necesario parar toda la actividad de la red para poder realizar las medidas. Esto se debe a que estas herramientas generalmente funcionan por inundación. Además, es necesario tener la aplicación tanto en el cliente como en el servidor para poder hacer las medidas. Consecuentemente, este Trabajo de Fin de Grado busca encontrar un método capaz de monitorizar la red de una forma más simple y eficiente. Para ello, se ha desarrollado un sistema de medida de calidad de servicio de red basado en trenes de paquetes usando mensajes estándar de control. Este sistema mide los parámetros habituales de calidad de servicio: pérdida de paquetes, retardo, variación del retardo(jitter), tasa de transferencia(throughput) y ancho de banda. Se han estudiado e implementado dos técnicas para realizar las estimaciones: una consiste en enviar y recibir paquetes ICMP de tipo eco, y la otra en transmitir paquetes UDP para generar mensajes de respuesta ICMP de puerto inalcanzable. Posteriormente, se ha desarrollado un programa en C capaz de enviar las ráfagas de paquetes y medir los parámetros de calidad de servicio. Gracias a este programa, se han puesto a prueba ambas técnicas, tanto en entornos reales como virtuales. Finalmente, se han analizado los resultados y se ha comprobado que la técnica basada en trenes de paquetes ICMP cumple con los requisitos mencionados anteriormente.

Abstract

Flight simulators represent a very useful tool in aircraft research and design, helping to predict the behavior of airplanes in certain situations. In this project, the X-Plane 11 ¿ight simulator and the Boeing 738 aircraft will be analyzed. The ¿rst part is an analysis of the descent modes and a description of how to apply them on the plane. The second part explains how to establish communication with the simulator either via Plugin or via an external program. This greatly facilitates the extraction and use of data. In this case, it has been decided to develop communication through an external program, speci¿cally via UDP. This method is the most indicated to meet the goal of this project. The last part is dedicated to approximate the unknown parameters within the simulator, by simulating multiple trajectories, using the tools developed in the previous parts. These parameters are the energy share factor (ESF), the drag coef¿cient in a zero lift situation, and the lift-induced drag coef¿cient. To obtain these values, the airplane routes have ¿rst been designed to be able to obtain all the possible information, then the data from these routes have been extracted and ¿nally, the least squares method has been applied. This has resulted in a model that is quite close to the one observed within the simulator.
