Olivine and pyroxene are important mineral end-members for studying the sur-face material compositions of mafic bodies. The profiles of visible and near-infraredspectra of olivine-orthopyroxene mixtures systematically varied with their compositionratios. In our experiments, we combine the RELAB spectral database with a new spec-tral data obtained from some assembled olivine-orthopyroxene mixtures. We found thatthe commonly-used band area ratio (BAR, Cloutis et al. 1986) does not work well onour newly obtained spectral data. To investigate this issue, an empirical procedure basedon fitted results by modified Gaussian model is proposed to analyze the spectral curves.Following the new empirical procedure, the end-member abundances can be estimatedwith a 15% accuracy with some prior mineral absorption features. In addition, the mix-ture samples configured in our experiments are also irradiated by pulsed lasers to simulateand investigate the space weathering effects. Spectral deconvolution results confirm thatlow-content olivine on celestial bodies are difficult to measure and estimate. Therefore,the olivine abundance of space weathered materials may be underestimated from remotesensing data. In $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda_c^+ (\to \Lambda^0 \pi^+) \tau^- \bar{\nu}_\tau $ decay, the solid angle of the final-state particle $\tau^-$ cannot be determined precisely since the decay products of the $\tau^-$ include an undetected $\nu_\tau$. Therefore, the angular distribution of this decay cannot be measured. In this work, we construct a {\it measurable} angular distribution by considering the subsequent decay $\tau^- \to \pi^- \nu_\tau$. The full cascade decay is $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda_c^+ (\to \Lambda^0 \pi^+)\tau^- (\to \pi^- \nu_\tau)\bar{\nu}_\tau$. The three-momenta of the final-state particles $\Lambda^0$, $\pi^+$, and $\pi^-$ can be measured. Considering all Lorentz structures of the new physics (NP) effective operators and an unpolarized initial $\Lambda_b$ state, the five-fold differential angular distribution can be expressed in terms of ten angular observables ${\cal K}_i (q^2, E_\pi)$. By integrating over some of the five kinematic parameters, we define a number of observables, such as the $\Lambda_c$ spin polarization $P_{\Lambda_c}(q^2)$ and the forward-backward asymmetry of $\pi^-$ meson $A_{FB}(q^2)$, both of which can be represented by the angular observables $\widehat{{\cal K}}_i (q^2)$. We provide numerical results for the entire set of the angular observables $\widehat{{\cal K}}_i (q^2)$ and $\widehat{{\cal K}}_i$ both within the Standard Model and in some NP scenarios, which are a variety of best-fit solutions in seven different NP hypotheses. We find that the NP which can resolve the anomalies in $\bar{B} \to D^{(*)} \tau^- \bar{\nu}_\tau$ decays has obvious effects on the angular observables $\widehat{{\cal K}}_i (q^2)$, except $\widehat{{\cal K}}_{1ss} (q^2)$ and $\widehat{{\cal K}}_{1cc} (q^2)$., Comment: 36 pages, 2 figures, 5 tables, matches to the version published in JHEP

With the hypothesis of minimal flavor violation, we find that there exists a power-aligned relation between the Yukawa couplings of the two scalar doublets in the two-Higgs-doublet model with Hermitian Yukawa matrices. Within such a power-aligned framework, it is found that a simultaneous explanation of the anomalies observed in the electron and muon anomalous magnetic moments can be reached with TeV-scale quasi-degenerate Higgs masses, and the resulting parameter space is also phenomenologically safer under the B-physics, $Z$ and $\tau$ decay data, as well as the current LHC bounds. Furthermore, the flavor-universal power that enhances the charged-lepton Yukawa couplings prompts an interesting correlation between the two anomalies, which makes the model distinguishable from the (generalized) linearly aligned and the lepton-specific two-Higgs-doublet models that address the same anomalies but in a non-correlative manner, and hence testable by future precise measurements., Comment: v1: 23 pages, 2 figures; v2: more discussions and references added, final version published in the journal; v3: figure 2 updated by including the latest Fermilab Muon g-2 result, and the lower bound on the charged-Higgs mass changed from 1.4TeV to 1.7TeV, conclusion unchanged

We study the entanglement dynamics of two atoms coupled to their own Jaynes-Cummings cavities in single-excitation space. Here we use the concurrence to measure the atomic entanglement. And the partial Bell states as initial states are considered. Our analysis suggests that there exist collapses and recovers in the entanglement dynamics. The physical mechanism behind the entanglement dynamics is the periodical information and energy exchange between atoms and light fields. For the initial Partial Bell states, only if the ratio of two atom-cavity coupling strengths is a rational number, the evolutionary periodicity of the atomic entanglement can be found. The physical origins of the transverse optical binding force and torque beyond the Rayleigh approximation have not been clearly expressed to date. Here, we present analytical expressions of the force and torque for a dual dipolar dielectric dimer illuminated by a plane wave propagating perpendicularly to the dimer axis. Using this analytical model, we explore the roles of the hybridized electric dipolar, magnetic dipolar, and electric-magnetic dipolar coupling interactions in the total force and torque on the particles. We find significant departures from the predictions of the Rayleigh approximation, particularly for high-refractive-index particles, where the force is dominated by the magnetic interaction. This results in an enhancement of the dimer stability by one to four orders of magnitude compared to the predictions of the Rayleigh approximation. For the case of torque, this is dominated by the coupling interaction and increases by an order of magnitude. Let $A, B, C$ be subsets of an abelian group $G$. A pair $(A, B)$ is called a $C$-pair if $A, B\subset C$ and $C$ is the direct sum of $A$ and $B$. The $(\Z_{\geq 0})$-pairs are characterized by de Bruijn in 1950 and the $(\Z_{\geq 0})^2$-pairs are characterized by Niven in 1971. In this paper, we characterize the $(\Z_{\geq 0})^n$-pairs for all $n\geq 1$. We show that every $(\Z_{\geq 0})^n$-pair is characterized by a weighted tree if it is primitive, that is, it is not a Cartesian product of a $(\Z_{\geq 0})^p$-pair and a $(\Z_{\geq 0})^q$-pair of lower dimensions.

Let $\textbf{a}_1,\dots, \textbf{a}_r$ be vectors in a half-space of $\mathbb{R}^n$. We call $$C=\textbf{a}_1\mathbb{R}^++\cdots+\textbf{a}_r \mathbb{R}^+$$ a convex polyhedral cone, and call $\{\textbf{a}_1,\dots, \textbf{a}_r\}$ a generator set of $C$. A generator set with the minimal cardinality is called a frame. We investigate the translation tilings of convex polyhedral cones. Let $T\subset \mathbb{R}^n$ be a compact set such that $T$ is the closure of its interior, and $\mathcal{J}\subset \mathbb{R}^n$ be a discrete set. We say $(T,\mathcal{J})$ is a translation tiling of $C$ if $T+\mathcal{J}=C$ and any two translations of $T$ in $T+\mathcal{J}$ are disjoint in Lebesgue measure. We show that if the cardinality of a frame of $C$ is larger than $\dim C$, the dimension of $C$, then $C$ does not admit any translation tiling; if the cardinality of a frame of $C$ equals $\dim C$, then the translation tilings of $C$ can be reduced to the translation tilings of $(\mathbb{Z}^+)^n$. As an application, we characterize all the self-affine tiles possessing polyhedral corners, which generalizes a result of Odlyzko [A. M. Odlyzko, \textit{Non-negative digit sets in positional number systems}, Proc. London Math. Soc., \textbf{37}(1978), 213-229.].

We study the bi-Lipschitz classification of Bedford-McMullen carpets which are totally disconnected. Let $E$ be a such carpet and let $\mu_E$ be the uniform Bernoulli measure on $E$. We show that the multifractal spectrum and the doubling property of $\mu_E$ are both invariant under a bi-Lipschitz map. Moreover, we show that if $\mu_E$ and $\mu_F$ are doubling, then a bi-Lipschitz map between $E$ and $F$ enjoys a certain measure preserving property.
