A robotic fish is ideal for an ecological survey of underwater life, because underwater animals cannot easily notice the robot. However, when a robotic fish swings its body to swim, it makes a rolling motion due to movements of the center of gravity and this rolling motion has a bad influence on the coordinate calculation of the tracking target, therefore it is necessary to correct the image. The robot has FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and it is suitable for real-time image processing because FPGA has excellent performance with its parallel processing. In this study, we create a program to calculate the roll angle of the robot by using the gyro and acceleration sensor mounted on the robot and to correct the image by rotating it by that angle. Then, we conduct an evaluation of this rotation correction method with rotation tester that reproduces the rolling motion of the robotic fish and determine synchronization timing of image data and angle data because the CMOS camera used for the robot adopts rolling shutter method. Furthermore, we investigate the effect on coordinate calculation by the fish robot with created program. We have confirmed that this robot can perform real-time correction of rotated image and reduce the influence on the coordinate calculation of the target.

In recent years, the deterioration of infrastructure facilities such as bridges has become a problem. Precautionary measures such as visual inspections and repair by humans are in place as countermeasures for aging, but there are problems with cost and safety in such inspections. If inspection by robots becomes possible, both will be improved, which will greatly contribute to the maintenance of infrastructure facilities. In this paper, we propose a localizational position specifying system for a robot supporting bridge inspection of the moving robot under the bridge to support inspection of the bridge. Since the robot must travel on the steel structures at the bottom of the bridge, strong permanent magnets need to be installed on the edge parts in the wheels. Also, it is not possible to receive the coordinate information from the satellite as it travels at the bottom of the bridge. Therefore, a 1-dimensional low-cost LiDAR sensor and a stepping motor are used to implement as a planar LiDAR sensor which rotates 360 degrees, specify the position of the current robot by obtaining distance and direction data from fixed feature points. The localizational position specification through the planar LiDAR are examined by the experiment. As a result, it was possible to estimate the localizational position of the robot.

NLRP3 inflammasomes play crucial roles in the initiation of host defense by converting pro-Caspase-1 to mature Caspase-1, which in turn processes immature IL-1β and IL-18 into their biologically active forms. Although NLRP3 expression is restricted to monocytic lineages such as monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells, the mechanisms determining the lineage-specific expression of NLRP3 remain largely unknown. In this study, we investigated the transcription factors involved in cell-type-specific transcription of NLRP3. We found that a distal, rather than a proximal, promoter of human NLRP3 was predominantly used in the human monocytic cell lines and macrophages. Reporter analysis showed that an Ets/IRF composite element (EICE) at -309/-300 and an Ets motif at +5/+8 were critical for transcriptional activity of the distal promoter. Electrophoretic mobility shift assays and chromatin immunoprecipitation assays demonstrated that two transcription factors, PU.1 and IRF8, both of which play essential roles in development and gene expression of the monocytic lineage, were bound to the EICE site, whereas PU.1 alone was bound to the Ets site. Knockdown of PU.1 and/or IRF8 mediated by small interfering RNA downregulated expression of NLRP3 and related molecules and markedly diminished the LPS-induced release of IL-1β in THP-1, suggesting that activity of the NLRP3 inflammasome was suppressed by knockdown of PU.1 and IRF8. Taken together, these results indicate that PU.1 and IRF8 are involved in the monocytic lineage-specific expression of NLRP3 by binding to regulatory elements within its promoter and that PU.1 and IRF8 are potential targets for regulating the activity of the NLRP3 inflammasome.

Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome is a rare congenital anomaly that results in Müllerian agenesis that affects the uterus and upper two-thirds of the vagina. Sigmoid vaginoplasty is a surgical treatment option; however, vaginal prolapse may result as a complication of the sigmoid neovagina. There are no standards for treatment due to the rarity of this condition. We present the case of a 59-year-old woman with a history of sigmoid vaginoplasty who underwent laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy (LSC) for grade IV sigmoid stump prolapse. The patient had a successful outcome and no evidence of recurrent prolapse. This clinical case reveals the feasibility of LSC as a surgical treatment for sigmoid stump prolapses in patients with MRKH syndrome.

Introduction: The current era of the COVID-19 pandemic requires innovation in the provision of discharge planning by involving family members through the media safely and effectively. This study aimed to develop a discharge planning instrument based on patient family-centered care. Method: Research design Research and Development. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 110 medical record documents, 23 focus group discussion participants, and 2 experts (expert consultation). Data were collected through observation sheets, focus group discussions, and expert consultations. Data analysis using descriptive analysis, and validity test using I-CVI. Results: Development of a patient family centered care-based discharge planning instrument at the beginning of the patient's admission (admission), namely sorting and adding assessment items to the level of knowledge of the disease, information and education needs, values, and beliefs, cultural background as well as physical and psychological. During treatment, namely arranging and sorting discharge planning items, providing information and education according to the assessment results using a media approach and the method according to the COVID-19 pandemic protocol. Towards home that is adding items; readiness or environmental conditions (environment), referral plans (Outpatient referral), and continued treatment while at home (Medication). Conclusion: The developed instrument tested is valid. As a result of this development, the new instrument can be tested and applied, and researched in the next stage on the outcomes of patient family-centered care. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper assesses the impact of constitutional changes on foreign direct investment (FDI) in 49 African countries during the period 1980–2020. The paper uses a dummy variable related to the year of the constitutional change and the number of changes during the study period to capture the frequency of constitutional changes. The results reveal that an increase in the frequency of constitutional changes negatively affects FDI. The negative relationship between constitutional change and FDI is consistent across different measures of constitutional change and FDI and is robust to alternative empirical approaches. These results suggest that frequent constitutional changes may create uncertainty and instability in the investment climate, which may discourage foreign investors from investing in these African countries. One of the most pressing and immediate climate concerns globally is inadequate and unsafe household water. The livelihoods of smallholder crop and livestock farmers are especially vulnerable to these challenges. Past research suggests that water insecurity is highly gendered, and women are theorized to be more aware of and impacted by water insecurity than men. Our study reengages this literature through a livelihood lens, comparing gendered perception of household water insecurity across crop and livestock subsistence modalities in a semiarid region of Burkina Faso in the Sahel region of West Africa, where water insecurity is closely intertwined with both seasonality and rainfall unpredictability. Our mixed-methods ethnographic study sampled matched men and women in households with water insecurity data collected from 158 coresident spousal pairs who engaged primarily in pastoralism or agriculture. Contrary to predictions from the existing literature, men engaged in livestock husbandry perceived greater water insecurity than matched women in the same household. We suggest this reflects men's responsibility for securing water for the animals-which consume most of the household's water among livestock farmers. In contrast, men engaged in cropping perceive less water insecurity than women in the same household, aligning with predictions from past research. Our findings suggest that the relationship between gender and water insecurity is more highly nuanced and related to livelihood strategies than previously recognized, with significant implications for how water insecurity is conceptualized theoretically and methodologically in the contexts of people's everyday management and experience of the most immediate and proximate climate-related challenges. This article discusses the prognostic value of the Second Revision of the International Staging System (R2-ISS) in patients with multiple myeloma (MM) who undergo autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (ASCT). The study, conducted at the Japanese Red Cross Medical Center, analyzed data from 94 patients and found that R2-ISS classification was useful in predicting prognosis. Patients classified as R2-ISS IV had poor outcomes, while those achieving minimal residual disease (MRD) negativity showed improved survival rates. The study suggests that intensification therapies, such as tandem ASCT and achieving MRD negativity, could potentially improve treatment outcomes for high-risk MM patients. Abstract C-reactive protein (CRP) is a powerful biomarker for inflammation, infection and sepsis. However, no reports have investigated canine CRP (c-CRP) concentration changes after orthopaedic procedures. If c-CRP changes were better characterized, it may be possible to identify postoperative complications more quickly. The purpose of this study was to clarify the characteristic changes in serum c-CRP after orthopaedic surgery in dogs. Blood samples were collected from 98 dogs on Day 0 (preoperatively), and then on Days 1, 4, 7, 10 and 13 postoperatively. Day 1 blood sampling was performed 12–24 h postoperatively. We classified the dogs into four groups based on changes in c-CRP pre- to postoperatively. Group 1 dogs showed a peak c-CRP concentration on Day 1, followed by decreases of ≥ 1 mg/dL. Group 2 dogs showed changes in c-CRP concentration by Day 4 that were within ± 1 mg/dL compared with Day 1. Dogs in Group 3 showed a peak c-CRP concentration on Day 4, followed by decreases of ≥ 1 mg/dL. Group 4 dogs showed an initial decrease in c-CRP, then an increase of ≥ 1 mg/dL. Group 1 was the largest group, with 63 dogs. c-CRP on Days 0, 1, 4, 7, 10 and 13 was 0.83 ± 1.03 mg/dL, 8.10 ± 3.15 mg/dL, 3.76 ± 1.94 mg/dL, 1.63 ± 0.92 mg/dL, 0.96 ± 0.70 mg/dL and 0.68 ± 0.51 mg/dL, respectively. The conventional CART method is a nonparametric classification method built on categorical response data. Bagging is one of the popular ensemble methods whereas, Random Forests (RF) is one of the relatively new ensemble methods in the decision tree that is the development of the Bagging method. Unlike Bagging, Random Forest was developed with the idea of adding layers to the random resampling process in bagging. Therefore, not only randomly sampled sample data to form a classification tree, but also independent variables are randomly selected and newly selected as the best divider when determining the sorting of trees, which is expected to produce more accurate predictions. Based on the above, the authors are interested to study the three methods by comparing the accuracy of classification on binary and non-binary simulation data to understand the effect of the number of sample sizes, the correlation between independent variables, the presence or absence of certain distribution patterns to the accuracy generated classification method. Results of the research on simulation data show that the Random Forest ensemble method can improve the accuracy of classification.

Penurunan fertilitas menjadi 2,4 anak belum mampu memenuhi target RPJMN pada angka 2,1 anak pada tahun 2015 sehingga upaya menurunkan angka kelahiran masih menjadi pekerjaan rumah bagi pemerintah dan seluruh masyarakat Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi fertilitas. Data yang digunakan adalah data dari Survei Demografi dan Kesehatan Indonesia (SDKI). Dalam studi ini, data yang digunakan adalah data cross-sectional untuk survei tahun 2017 di wilayah Indonesia. Model yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi logistik biner untuk memprediksi keterlibatan faktor-faktor variabel bebas dengan fertilitas Wanita Usia Subur (WUS) berumur 15-49 tahun yang pernah melahirkan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa dengan tingkat kesalahan 5%, umur, tingkat pendidikan, status bekerja, status kekayaan, jumlah anak yang meninggal, penggunaan kontrasepsi dan umur melahirkan anak pertama berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap fertilitas.

In Indonesia, Pinus merkusii, the Sumatran pine, is the most important forest tree in the industry. This study aimed to determine the effects of pine forest types and sites on the abundance of ambrosia beetles in four pine forest types and sites, i.e., the protected pine forest (PF1 & PF2), the pine forests-based agroforestry (PA1 & PA2), the tapped-pine forests (TP1 & TP2), and the non-tapped pine forests (NP1 & NP2). The environmental variables and the stand-ages were also studied related to the number of ambrosia beetle individuals and species. Twenty ethanol baited traps were installed to attract and collect the ambrosia beetles in each pine forest site. The descriptive analysis, the nested analysis of variance, and correlation analysis were applied to determine the differences in ambrosia beetle abundance between the pine forest sites, the relationship between the stand-age, humidity, elevation, and temperature to the number of individuals and species of ambrosia beetle, and species diversity of ambrosia beetles in each pine forest type. The Jaccard distance was calculated to investigate the dissimilarity between each pine forest site based on the ambrosia beetle species composition and abundance. The 999 ambrosia beetles (15 species) were reported in this study. Two were Platypodinae, and 13 were Scolytinae subfamilies. Xyleborinus andrewesi was the most abundant ambrosia beetle. The abundance of ambrosia beetles was significantly different between pine forest types (F = 89.23, p < 0.001). The population of ambrosia beetles was the highest in the protected pine forest, and the lowest one was identified in the non-tapped pine forest and the pine forest-based agroforestry. Based on the pine forest types, the highest number of ambrosia beetle species was in the protected pine forest (13 species), and the lowest one was in the pine forest-based agroforestry (7 species). The highest and the lowest numbers of ambrosia beetles were in the protected pine forest site 2 (11 species) and in the pine forest–based agroforestry site 2 & the non-tapped pine forest site 1 (3 species). The highest dissimilarity was shown by the highest distances between the pine forest-based agroforestry site 1 and the non-tapped pine forest site 1 based on the Jaccard distance. The stand-age, humidity, and temperature potentially effected the number of ambrosia beetle individuals and species. The elevation also indicated to influence the number of ambrosia beetle individuals however it isn’t happened on the number of ambrosia beetle species. This study contributes to identify the suitable pine forest types related to the ambrosia beetle management.

Abstract. This research aims to find out how to optimize management accounting as a company strategy in achieving the goals expected by stakeholders. The research method used is descriptive method. Data from the results of direct observation through questionnaires and interviews are processed and described based on sources from the literature (articles, books, magazines, etc.). The results of the research show that good business management requires a variety of information that can help businesses optimize all of their potential.
