The lightly loaded or unloaded gears rattle in vehicle transmission systems is an unsolved issue for vehicle manufacturers. Rattle noises affect customer perception of vehicle quality. Rattle is an unwanted byproduct of clearances and is affected by design of the torsional system,including clutch spring,hysteresis and flywheel inertias and so on. By using a generic torsional drivetrain model for loaded gear rattle analysis,then,the nonlinear responses of the rattling gear is examined. The rattle of the 1 st gear set and 5 th gear set are considered while 2 nd gear is meshed and driven. The accelerations of the 5 th gear set are shown to be more severe under the same excitation condition and thus found to be a larger contributor to the rattle noise. The system is simulated by using a frequency sweep with engine excitation derived from measured data and then peak responses is examined.

Transforming and insulin-like growth factors are important in regulating bone mass. Thus, one would anticipate correlations between matrix concentrations of growth factors and functional properties of bone. We therefore investigated the relationships of (1) TGF-β2 and (2) IGF-I matrix concentrations with the trabecular microstructure, stress distribution, and mechanical properties of tibial cancellous bone from six male human cadavers. Trabecular stress amplification (VMExp/σapp) and variability (VMCOV) were calculated using microcomputed tomography (μCT)-based finite element simulations. Bone volume fraction (BV/TV), surface/volume ratio (BS/BV), trabecular thickness (Tb.Th), number (Tb.N) and separation (Tb.Sp), connectivity (Eu.N), and anisotropy (DA) were measured using 3-D morphometry. Bone stiffness and strength were measured by mechanical testing. Matrix concentrations of TGF-β2 and IGF-I were measured by ELISA. We found higher matrix concentrations of TGF-β2 were associated with higher Tb.Sp and VMExp/σapp for pooled data and within subjects. Similarly, a higher matrix concentration of IGF-I was associated with lower stiffness, strength, BV/TV and Tb.Th and with higher BS/BV, Tb.Sp, VMExp/σapp and VMCOV for pooled data and within subjects. IGF-I and Tb.N were negatively associated within subjects. It appears variations of the stress distribution in cancellous bone correlate with the variation of the concentrations of TGF-β2 and IGF-I in bone matrix: increased local matrix concentrations of growth factors are associated with poor biomechanical and architectural properties of tibial cancellous bone.

This article explores the synthesis and characterization of chejuenolides, a group of natural products with potential medicinal applications. The authors conducted total synthesis of chejuenolide C and identified it in a newly discovered strain of bacteria. They also investigated the stereochemistry involved in the macrocyclization process and found that the configuration at C13 has a significant impact on the stereochemistry of the product. To investigate the self-pulsation characteristics of a liquid-centered swirl coaxial injector with liquid oxygen (LOX) and gas hydrogen (GH2) as the working mediums under supercritical condition, a numerical simulation was employed. The transient simulation of the flow and injection process of cryogenic propellant was carried out using the RNG k − ε turbulence model, VOF model, and Peng-Robinson equation of state. The frequency spectrum of calculated pressure oscillation agreed with the experimental data. The amplitude-frequency characteristics of recess region, LOX, and GH2 paths when self-pulsation occurs were analyzed. The effects of operating parameters, such as the flow rate of LOX or GH2 and the initial GH2 temperature, on the self-pulsation, were evaluated specifically. Results reveal that the self-pulsation results from the periodic variation of pressure and velocity caused by the periodic blocking of annular gas by the liquid sheet. The dominant frequencies of pressure oscillation in the recess region, upstream of LOX, or GH2 path are diverse. But for the points in each region, the dominant frequency is about the same. When the LOX/GH2 mixing ratio increases, the liquid sheet thickness and the number of liquid filaments increase. The position where filaments are massively broken into droplets moves further downstream. For the same mixing ratio, the flow rate of LOX has a greater impact on the atomization features. The pressures corresponding to low or high frequency increase when the initial GH2 temperature raises. The higher temperature would shift the dominant oscillation between the low and high regimes. In recent years, dredging projects in rivers and lakes have generated large volumes of sludge that exhibit high water content and low permeability. This dredged sludge needs to be treated quickly to reduce its volume, thus reducing transportation costs and environmental impacts. Flocculation combined with electroosmotic vacuum preloading is a new technology for dewatering sludge. At present, the influence of flocculants on the electrokinetic properties of sludge has not been thoroughly studied, and composite forms of these have not been applied in electroosmotic vacuum precompression. Therefore, inorganic flocculant and organic flocculant were combined to form a composite flocculant, which was used in electroosmosis vacuum preloading to increase the water discharge effect of dredged sludge. Based on analyzing the mechanism of flocculants, two kinds of composite flocculants, PAC-APAM and FeCl3-APAM, were configured, and the optimal ratio of inorganic flocculant and organic flocculant in the composite flocculant was determined with a settling column test. The properties, including pore size distribution, electric conductivity, and electroosmotic permeability coefficient, of the sludge mixed with flocculants PAC, FeCl3, APAM, PAC-APAM, and FeCl3-APAM were analyzed by NMR tests and Miler Soil Box tests. In addition, a model test of electroosmotic vacuum preloading treatment of dredged sludge was conducted, and the influences of different types of flocculants on the surface settlement, water discharge, current, pore water pressure, and shear strength of the sludge were compared and analyzed. The results showed that the composite flocculants suggested in this study were able to increase the electroosmotic permeability coefficient of sludge more significantly than single-type flocculants. In situations where electroosmotic vacuum preloading combined with composite flocculants was used to treat sludge, water discharge, and consolidation settlement were larger, and the shear strength of the treated sludge was higher. Four heteroanionic oxyhalides, CeClMoO4, CeBrMoO4, CeClWO4, and CeBrWO4, have been studied as multifunctional materials, which show a combination of good second harmonic generation (SHG) response and photocurrent signals. Millimeter-sized CeHaVIO4 (Ha = Cl, Br; VI = Mo, W) crystals were grown by halide salt flux. The crystal structure of CeHaVIO4 crystals was accurately determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. CeClMoO4, CeBrMoO4, and CeBrWO4 are isostructural to each other, and crystallize in the acentric LaBrMoO4 structure type. CeClWO4 crystallizes in a new structure type with unit cell parameters of a = 19.6059(2) Å, b = 5.89450(10) Å, c = 7.80090(10) Å, and β = 101.4746(8)°. The bandgaps of CeHaVIO4 fall into the range of 2.8(1)–3.1(1) eV, which are much smaller than those of isotypic LaHaVIO4 (Ha = Cl, Br; VI = Mo, W) in the range of 3.9(1)–4.3(1) eV. The narrowing of bandgaps in CeHaVIO4 originates from the presence of partially filled 4f orbitals of cerium atoms, which was confirmed by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The moderate bandgaps make CeHaVIO4 suitable for infrared nonlinear optical (IR NLO) applications. CeBrMoO4 and CeBrWO4 exhibit moderate SHG responses of 0.58× AGS and 0.46× AGS, respectively, and are both type-I phase-matching materials. Moderate SHG response, easy growth of crystals, high ambient stability, and type-I phase-matching behavior make CeBrMoO4 and CeBrWO4 great materials for IR NLO applications. CeHaVIO4 films also exhibited good photocurrent response upon light radiation. This work demonstrates the rich structural chemistry of the REHaVIO4 (RE = Y, La–Lu; Ha = Cl, Br; VI = Mo, W) family and the potential presence of more multifunctional materials. This paper reconsiders the roles of China and some developed countries in the network of carbon emission transfers via international trade in value added from a new perspective of network governance. Network search intensity (NSI) and the extended gravity model are used with cross‐country panel data to analyze the mechanism of China's engagement in network governance of carbon emission transfers. The results show that from 2000 to 2009, China was a net exporter of carbon emissions, even though it shifted from the semi‐periphery to the core in the network of carbon emissions embodied in imports. Meanwhile, NSI had a significant positive impact on carbon emissions embodied in exports. Given China's important role in the global production network and division of labor, NSI may also affect industrial structure and the quality of the ecological environment to a large extent. This study analyses the network governance mechanism of China's participation in global carbon transfers. The results suggest that the technical complexity of export products and product heterogeneity do not change the positive impact of NSI on carbon emissions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Yellow River Basin (YRB) plays a very important role in China's economic and social development and ecological security, so studying the spatiotemporal variation characteristics of net primary productivity (NPP) and its influencing factors is of great significance for protecting the stable development of its ecological environment. This article takes the YRB as the research area, based on Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data, climate data, terrain data, land data, social data, and the gravity recovery and climate experiment (GRACE) data. The spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of vegetation NPP in the YRB from 2000 to 2022 were explored using methods such as trend analysis, correlation analysis, and geographic detectors, and the correlation characteristics of NPP with meteorological factors, social factors, and total water storage (TWS) were evaluated. The results indicate that the NPP of vegetation in the YRB showed an increasing trend (4.989 gC·m−2·a−1) from 2000 to 2022, with the most significant changes occurring in the middle reaches of the YRB. The correlation coefficient indicates that temperature and accumulated temperature have a significant positive impact on the change of NPP, while TWS has a significant negative impact. In the study of the factors affecting vegetation NPP in the YRB, the most influential factors are soil type (0.48), precipitation (0.46), and temperature (0.32). The strong correlation between TWS and vegetation NPP in the YRB is about 39%, with a contribution rate of about 0.12, which is a factor that cannot be ignored in studying vegetation NPP changes in the YRB.
