Abstract

We performed a detailed study of the high-mass clump interacting with bubble N10 based on the spectral lines $^{12}CO(3-2)$, $HCO^+(4-3)$, $N_2H^+(4-3)$ and $CH_3OH(7(0,7)-6(0,6))$ and continuum emission data at 450 $\mu$m and 850 $\mu$m released on CADC and Spitzer data. Blue-shifted optically thick line $^{12}CO (3-2)$ seems to indicate that the outer envelope of the high-mass clump is still falling toward the center. Detection of $CH_3OH(7(0,7)-6(0,6))$ suggests that a hot core has formed around YSO N10-7. And position-velocity diagram of $N_2H^+ (4-3)$ indicates the cold dense core of the clump has not been destroyed by the star formation activities. The mass of N10-7 is about 27.44 $M_\odot$. The ratio $HCO^+(4-3)/N_2H^+ (4-3)$ in the outer part of the clump is larger than that in the inner part of it. The reason may be that the CO abundance relative to $N_2H^+ (4-3)$ increased in the outer part of the high-mass clump, more $N_2H^+ (4-3)$ were converted into $HCO^+(4-3)$.

228. Efficient and Selective Electrochemical Nitrate Reduction to N2Using a Flow-Through Zero-Gap Electrochemical Reactor with a Reconstructed Cu(OH)2Cathode: Insights into the Importance of Inter-Electrode Distance

Abstract

Electrochemically converting nitrate, a widely distributed nitrogen contaminant, into harmless N2is a feasible and environmentally friendly route to close the anthropogenic nitrogen-based cycle. However, it is currently hindered by sluggish kinetics and low N2selectivity, as well as scarce attention to reactor configuration. Here, we report a flow-through zero-gap electrochemical reactor that shows a high performance of nitrate reduction with 100% conversion and 80.36% selectivity of desired N2in the chlorine-free system at 100 mg-N·L–1NO3–while maintaining a rapid reduction kinetics of 0.07676 min–1. More importantly, the mass transport and current utilization efficiency are significantly improved by shortening the inter-electrode distance, especially in the zero-gap electrocatalytic system where the current efficiency reached 50.15% at 5 mA·cm–2. Detailed characterizations demonstrated that during the electroreduction process, partial Cu(OH)2on the cathode surface was reconstructed into stable Cu/Cu2O as the active phase for efficient nitrate reduction. In situ characterizations revealed that the highly selective *NO to *N conversion and the N–N coupling step played crucial roles during the selective reduction of NO3–to N2in the zero-gap electrochemical system. In addition, theoretical calculations demonstrated that improving the key intermediate *N coverage could effectively facilitate the N–N coupling step, thereby promoting N2selectivity. Moreover, the environmental and economic benefits and long-term stability shown by the treatment of real nitrate-containing wastewater make our proposed electrocatalytic system more attractive for practical applications.

Abstract

Hypoxia is a major stress on fetal development and leads to induction of endothelin-1 (ET-1) expression. We tested the hypothesis that ET-1 stimulates the terminal differentiation of cardiomyocytes from mononucleate to binucleate in the developing heart.Hypoxia (10.5% O2) treatment of pregnant rats from day 15 to day 21 resulted in a significant increase in prepro-ET-1 mRNA expression in fetal hearts. ET-1 ex vivo treatment of fetal rat cardiomyocytes increased percent binucleate cells and decreased Ki-67 expression, a marker for proliferation, under both control and hypoxic conditions. Hypoxia alone decreased Ki-67 expression and in conjunction with ET-1 treatment decreased cardiomyocyte size. PD145065, a non-selective ET-receptor antagonist, blocked the changes in binucleation and proliferation caused by ET-1. DNA methylation in fetal cardiomyocytes was significantly increased with ET-1 treatment, which was blocked by 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine, a DNA methylation inhibitor. In addition, 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine treatment abrogated the increase in binucleation and decrease in proliferation induced by ET-1.Hypoxic stress and synthesis of ET-1 increases DNA methylation and promotes terminal differentiation of cardiomyocytes in the developing heart. This premature exit of the cell cycle may lead to a reduced cardiomyocyte endowment in the heart and have a negative impact on cardiac function.

Abstract

Large-scale observations of the Perseus Molecular Cloud (MC) with Nanshan 26-m telescope are presented using the 6 cm ortho-H2CO (110–111) transition. As a probe of dense gas at low temperatures, the H2CO absorption extends over the main parts of the Perseus MC. A comparison of the H2CO absorption line with the 12CO and 13CO (J  = 1–0) emissions shows that the H2CO and CO are similarly distributed over the Perseus but that H2CO correlates better with 13CO. Comparison with the Herschel -derived H2 column density shows that both the 13CO and H2CO column densities vary linearly with the H2 column density. The main parameters of H2CO absorption line data show a log-normal distribution, which suggests that the strong non-thermal line-broadening results from large-scale supersonic turbulence related to the star formation. Formaldehyde absorption serves well as a tracer of star formation activity and also the H2CO-to-13CO and H2CO-to-H2 abundances systematically trace the star formation activity in the six subregions of Perseus MC. The H2CO abundances anticorrelate with the number of prestellar and protostellar cores and the IRIS 12 μ m flux in the six subregions and reveal the star formation history in the Perseus MC. Abstract

Angiogenesis plays an important role in tumor growth and metastasis, and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) is a key regulatory factor in the process of angiogenesis. Apatinib mesylate is a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor developed over ten years in China. At present, apatinib as single agent has been successfully used in the clinical treatment of advanced gastric cancer, non-small cell lung cancer and breast cancer, etc. The combination of apatinib and other anti-tumor therapies often increases the efficacy and reduces side effects at the same time. In this review, the therapeutic effect and mechanism of apatinib combined with other therapies for varies of tumors were briefly summarized, according to recently reported clinical cases and preclinical researches.
