Objective: To compare the functional outcomes of close reduction percutaneous pinning versus open reduction internal fixation with pinning in children with Gartland type-III supracondylar fracture of the humerus. Study Design: Quasi-experimental study Place and Duration of the Study: Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Karachi Pakistan,from Sep 2019 to Aug 2020. Methodology: A total of 98 patients aged of 2 to 15 years, of either gender, with Gartland type III supracondylar fracture were included in the study. By blocked randomization, patients were randomly assigned into two groups (49 each), Group-A (CRPP) and Group-B (ORIF). All of the patients were prospectively followed up after six months, assessed for the functional outcome according to Flynn's criteria, and classified as satisfactory and unsatisfactory based on functional and cosmetic factors. Results: The mean age in our study population was 8.2±3.4 years and 7.1±2.3 years in ORIF and CRPP Groups, respectively.The right arm was shown to be more commonly involved than the left arm in our population demographics, and RTA was determined to be the most frequent cause of supracondylar fractures. Functional outcomes were satisfactory for 68 individuals (69.4%), out of which 40(40.8%) belonged to the ORIF Group, and 28(28.6%) belonged to the CRPP Group, respectively. Conclusion: It is to be concluded that a significant difference was noted in terms of satisfactory outcomes between CRPP versus ORIF in the treatment of supracondylar fracture of humerus in children and that ORIF can be considered a valid firstline treatment for Type III supracondylar humer........

Intraoperative pathology consultation is often required for guiding immediate surgical decisions so as to limit the extent of surgery. Accurate intraoperative diagnosis is crucial. The present study evaluates the accuracy of imprint cytology and frozen section in intraoperative consultation for tumor and tumor margins. A total of 157 tissue specimens for type of lesion, tumor margins and lymphnode metastasis were included. Imprint was taken by holding the tissue bit with forceps and touching it onto a clean glass slide without undue pressure or lateral movements. They were stained with Papanicolaou, May-Grunwald Giemsa and Hematoxylin and Eosin [H&E] stains. The tissue bits taken were then embedded and frozen. Section cutting was done using cryostat and were stained using rapid Haematoxylin and Eosin stain, and examined under a light microscope. Later, the tissue was fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin for routine histopathological processing then stained with H&E stain. Based on the histological diagnosis, the accuracy of intraoperative imprint cytology and frozen section were evaluated. A total of 157 tissue specimens were received during the study period, which were classified into specimens for type of tumor [145 specimens], tumor margins [54 specimens] and lymph node metastasis [7 specimens] for analysis. The overall diagnostic accuracy of imprint cytology in detection of type of tumor was 97.9% and that of frozen section was 98.6%. It can be concluded that imprint cytology typically provides the accurate diagnosis without the need for a sophisticated machine such as cryostat which is required for frozen section analysis.

Photo-voltaic (PV) tied Z-source Neutral-point clamped NPC-MLI (Z-NPC-MLI) is used in solar grid connected applications due to its improved performance related to conservative inverters due to its single stage power conversion. Though the Z source inverters adaptation is accepted in grid connected technology, the need for appropriate controller to meet out the grid/standalone requirements is becoming necessary. The space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) strategy is a prominent modulation technique for Z-source NPC-MLIs due to their appropriate voltage vector selection opportunity. The current controller (CC) based SVPWM is not attempted, which is the most essential consideration for the grid connected inverter to provide a low harmonic distortion, high quality current. With all this aim, the paper presents a PV tied Z-NPC-MLI grid connected system with a unique hysteresis current control SVPWM (HSVM) strategy with neutral point (NP) balancing control. The simulation results are confirmed the feasibility and reliability of the proposed CC for the PV tie grid connected Z- Source MLI.

A meta-analysis of research on fishstock identification in India was performed to examine the trends and patterns of work conducted in fish-stock identification between 2000 and 2021. The publication data extracted from the Web of Science database with different sets of keywords resulted in a total of 214 research articles dealing with fish-stock identification. The common methods applied for stock identification are mtDNA sequencing, microsatellite markers and truss morphometrics. Published records showed that 14.49% of the research used different stock-identification methods in a single study to arrive at an accurate result on the stock structure of the studied species. Teleosts were the most studied group, followed by crustaceans, bivalves and elasmobranchs, and most of the studies focused on the fishes belonging to the orders Cypriniformes and Siluriformes. Fishes caught from the wild populations accounted for most of the studies, rather than the farmed ones. The study highlighted pitfalls in the stock-identification studies in India, viz. fewer studies on the marine realm and more specifically on elasmobranchs, farm escapees into the wild, threatened species, etc. The study also highlighted the need for strengthening stock-identification studies so that they aid in data-driven fisheries management measures.

The present study characterized complete mitochondrial genome of Blue-spotted maskray, Neotrygon indica and studied the evolutionary relationship of the species within the Dasyatidae family. The total length of the mitogenome was 17,974 bp including 37 genes and a non-coding control region. The average frequency of nucleotides in protein-coding genes was A: 29.1 %, T: 30.2 %, G: 13.0 % and C: 27.7 % with AT content of 59.3 %. The values of AT and GC skewness were -0.018 and -0.338, respectively. Comparative analyses showed a large number of average synonymous substitutions per synonymous site (Ks) in gene NADH4 (5.07) followed by NADH5 (4.72). High values of average number of non-synonymous substitutions per non-synonymous site (Ka) were observed in genes ATPase8 (0.54) and NADH2 (0.44). Genes NADH4L and NADH2 showed high interspecific genetic distance values of 0.224 ± 0.001 and 0.213 ± 0.002, respectively. Heat map analysis showed variation in codon usage among different species of the Dasyatidae family. The phylogenetic tree showed a sister relationship between the Dasyatinae and the Neotrygoninae subfamilies. Neotrygon indica formed as a sister species to the clade consisting of N. varidens and N. orientalis. Based on the present results, Neotrygon indica could have diverged from the common ancestor of the two latter in the Plio-Pleistocene. The present study showed distinct characteristics of N. indica from its congeners through comparative mitogenomics.

Due to its intricacy, dermatology presents the most challenging and uncertain terrain for diagnosis. Skin conditions like Carcinoma and Melanoma are frequently very challenging to identify in the early stages and are much more challenging to define independently. The use of pattern recognition models to automate detection has been studied by a number of writers. This research describes a novel Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) for Skin Disease Detection. The photographs of skin would undergo processing to remove unwanted noise as well as to improve the photos. The performance of classification will be greatly impacted by the pixel values of a picture. The picture is classified using the softmax classifier method by feature extraction utilising DCCN, and a diagnosis report is produced as the result. In comparison to more classic approaches like KNN (K-Nearest Neighbour) and CNN, this methodology will provide results faster and with improved accuracy, precision, and recall. With a detection time of 10,000 milliseconds, DCNN achieved accuracy, precision, and recall percentages of 98.4%, 96.3%, and 97.2%, respectively.

Objective: To define the link of HLA-B27 with Spondyloarthritis (SPA) among the study population. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Rheumatology Department Pak-Emirates Military Hospital (PEMH) Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Jun 2019 to Jan 2020. Methodology: Patients assumed to be suffering from spondyloarthritis (Spa), reporting for routine follow-up at subject OPD, were enrolled. Socio-demographic and clinical variables were measured with HLA-typing.
