Preservasi naskah kuno adalah kunci dalam memelihara warisan budaya dan pengetahuan manusia. Namun, banyak naskah kuno di DISPERSIP dan Museum Lambung Mangkurat, Kalimantan Selatan, belum mendapat perhatian yang memadai. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi di DISPERSIP dan Museum Lambung Mangkurat. Subjek penelitian adalah naskah kuno, dengan data berupa identitas responden, gambaran upaya preservasi, hambatan, dan solusi. Data dianalisis melalui proses data reduction, data display, dan conclusion drawing/verification secara interaktif dan berkelanjutan. Analisis kualitatif dilakukan hingga data mencapai kejenuhan. Preservasi naskah kuno dilakukan melalui perlakuan fisik dan digitalisasi isi. Kendala utama adalah kurangnya anggaran dan sumber daya manusia. Solusi yang diusulkan adalah kerjasama dengan pihak lain, seperti ANRI dan Universitas Indonesia, serta peningkatan anggaran dan pelatihan pegawai. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya preservasi naskah kuno di DISPERSIP dan Museum Lambung Mangkurat. Dengan bekerjasama dan peningkatan anggaran, upaya preservasi ini dapat ditingkatkan untuk menjaga warisan budaya Kalimantan Selatan. Disarankan juga untuk membuat katalog manual dan digital untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang khazanah manuskrip.

Penelitian ini merepresentasikan kompetensi pustakawan yang dimiliki oleh Myne dalam anime Honzuki no Gekokujo dengan mengambil pendekatan semiotik sesuai standar kompetensi pustakawan SLA dilihat dari kemampuan profesional (hard skill), dan kemampuan personal (soft skill). serta melihat aspek perilaku dan penampilan Myne di sepanjang serial tersebut. Metode penelitian yang peneliti gunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif analisis konten dengan pendekatan analisis semiotika dengan menggunakan teori Roland Barthes. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunaakan dokumentasi dan studi literatur. Satuan isi cerita yang berkaitan dengan kompetensi pustakawan menurut standar kompetensi SLA dalam cerita animasi sebanyak 10-satuan urut dalam 8-episode dalam bentuk menit. Myne adalah tokoh utama dalam serial animasi tersebut, yang memiliki latar belakang sebagai pustakawan di Jepang sebelum meninggal dan bereinkarnasi di Ehrenfest sebagai RozeMyne atau Myne. Analisis sekuen menunujukan adanya kompetensi Pustakawan SLA dalam anime seperti kemampuan profesional (hard skill) dan kemampuan Personal (Soft Skill) Seperti Mengelola, Memodifikasi, hingga pendistribusian dan pengaplikasian Informasi, memiliki kemampuan komunikasi yang baik hingga problem sholving. Sedangkan analisis tokoh dan analisis latar menunjukkan adanya perkembangan karakter baik dari tingkah laku, watak, maupun kepribadian seperti haus akan pengetahuan, memiliki literasi dan kreativitas tinggi, pandai bernegosiasi, menjadi edukator yang baik dan melakukakn barter informasi kepada mereka yang membutuhkan infromasi.

Teknologi informasi membawa perubahan yang signifikan terhadap kebiasan masyarakat dalam mencari informasi, maka perpustakaan dapat menggunakan teknologi informasi dalam meningkatkan layanannya. Kebutuhan akan layanan yang berbasis teknologi seperti Artificial Intellegence menjadi pilihan dalam meningkatkan layanan di perpustakaan. Akan tetapi perpustakaan tidak dapat menerapkan AI jika dalam persiapan akan hal tersebut tidak diusahakan. Menjadi penting jika dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dilakukan pendalaman penelitian terkait layanan apa saja yang dapat diterapkan dengan AI di perpustakaan kemudian hal apa saja yang perlu dipersiapkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan dengan menganalisis dari hasil-hasil penelitian terdahulu, lalu membacanya kemudian mencatat poin penting yang memang relevan dengan penelitian, setelah itu menghimpunnya menjadi data pendukung dari penelitian. Hasil yang ditemukan dari penelitian ini yaitu bidang-bidang AI yang dapat diterapkan di perpustakaan, seperti pengenalan bahasa alami, visi komputer, pengenalan percakapan, dan robotika. Adapun persiapan dari perpustakaan itu sendiri dalam menerapkan AI dapat dengan mengalokasikan biaya, memperhatikan pengguna perpustakaan, memperhatikan komponen-komponen perangkat keras dan lunak, kemudian dibantu dengan jaringan yang memadai. Ketersediaan teknologi informasi ini tidak menutup kemungkinan perpustakaan memiliki potensi untuk terus berkembang secara dinamis dan akhirnya Artificial Intellegence dapat diterapkan di perpustakaan.

Perpustakaan berfungsi sebagai wahana pendidikan, penelitian, pelestarian, informasi, dan rekreasi dalam rangka meningkatkan kecerdaskan dan keberdayaan bangsa. Penerapan fungsi rekreasi di perpustakaan telah dikembangkan dengan adanya program edu-tourism. Edu-tourism merupakan penggabungan antara konsep wisata dengan pendidikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui potensi daya tarik perpustakaan untuk pengembangan program edu-tourism. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dan proses analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa potensi daya tarik perpustakaan untuk pengembangan program edu-tourism di Dinas Kearsipan dan Perpustakaan Kota Bandung, antara lain: (1) Arsip sejarah kota Bandung; (2) Pameran tematik; (3) Koleksi perpustakaan; (4) Kegiatan Pendidikan; (5) Ruang baca dan studi. Perpustakaan Kota Bandung memiliki potensi daya tarik yang besar dalam mengembangkan edu-tourism, membawa manfaat pendidikan dan pengalaman wisata kepada masyarakat. Dengan koleksi arsip dan perpustakaan yang kaya, mencakup dokumen sejarah, artefak budaya, dan sumber daya lainnya, perpustakaan ini menawarkan peluang pembelajaran langsung yang mendalam dan otentik.

Kinerja organisasi menjadi salah satu penentu kesuksesan sebuah organisasi baik organisasi profit maupun non profit. Kinerja organisasi dibentuk dari pemimpin memberikan arahan kerja kepada bawahannya. Pola kerja pemimpin disebut juga gaya kepemimpinan. Gaya kepemimpinan akan berdampak pula pada inovasi. Kepala Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Selatan memiliki gaya kepemimpinan yang berbeda dan mendapatkan apresiasi anugrah Nugra Jasadharma Pustaloka tahun 2021 dan IPLM tertinggi nasioal tahun 2020 dan 2021. Penelitian ini penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Análisis yang digunakan menggunakan Miles & Huberman melalui tiga tahapan kondesasi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Gaya kepemimpinan Kepala Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan kharismatik transformational. Kepala dinas tampil sebagai figure sosok yang memiliki kharisma sendiri yang bersumber pada dirinya yang ditumbuhkan dari proses pengetahuan dan passion sehingga kebijakan yang yang diambil bersifat menggerakkan bawahan untuk mewujudkan tujuan organisasi. Inovasi yang dilakukan Kepala Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Kalimantan peremajaan gedung tua menjadi wajah baru dan perluasan layanan mulai adanya kids library, ikalsel, gedung disabilitas, gedung PUSAKA dan Teater, pengelolaan kearsipan berbasis teknologi informasi dan memunculkan konsep wisata literasi.

Gagasan lanskap terapeutik telah digunakan secara luas untuk menggambarkan hubungan antara tempat dan peningkatan kesehatan mental. Tulisan ini menggunakan data dari penelitian kualitatif yang dilakukan dengan pemustaka dengan latar belakang yang beragam untuk menguraikan peran perpustakaan umum sebagai lanskap terapeutik. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode purposive dan convenience sampling dengan mewawancara dua orang pustakawan dan sepuluh pengunjung Perpustakaan Umum Daerah DKI Jakarta. Data yang didapat kemudian dianalisis menggunakan 3 tahapan yaitu pengumpulan dan reduksi data, interpretasi data, dan penulisan atau penyusunan laporan penelitian. Tulisan ini menempatkan perpustakaan umum sebagai ruang yang secara bersamaan akrab dan ramah, nyaman dan menenangkan, serta memberdayakan. Lebih lanjut, tulisan ini difokuskan untuk menggambarkan konsep lanskap terapeutik yang diterapkan pada perpustakaan umum dan bagaimana pemustaka mempersepsikan lanskap terapeutik yang diterapkan pada perpustakaan.

Purpose: Information literacy involves a range of skills such as recognizing information needs, understanding information production and value, and using information to generate new knowledge ethically. It is essential for individuals to locate, evaluate, and utilize information effectively to become lifelong learners. This research aims to investigate how education influences the information literacy abilities of out-of-school children in accessing digital libraries and databases.Methodology: This study utilized a Semi-experimental research design and survey method. Initial theoretical studies were conducted, and five information literacy standards were compared to develop a new pattern. The population consisted of 195 dropouts from two schools - Moshtaq in Kerman and Arslan Boys in Rafsanjan. The sample size of 120 individuals was selected using a simple random method, with 100 students completing the questionnaire. Survey data was analyzed before and after information literacy training over one semester using a checklist with five components and 15 indicators. Reliability was measured using Cronbach's alpha, which yielded a value of 0.851.Findings: The study revealed that digital libraries and databases were available to a favorable extent, with a 2.935 percent availability rate. Prior to training, students showed a 2.125 percent proficiency in locating information in digital resources, which improved to 2.45 percent post-training. Additionally, students demonstrated an average skill level of 2.38 in utilizing full-text databases within digital libraries. Conclusion: The research underscored the importance of education in enhancing information literacy skills, particularly in the areas of information retrieval and selection, database usage, and critical evaluation of online sources. Recommendations included teaching students how to identify reliable information sources, conduct effective information searches, and utilize various search operators for refining search results.Value: The novelty of the research lies in its examination of the Impact of Education on Information Literacy Skills of Dropout Students in Utilizing Digital Libraries and Databases through a Semi-experimental research design.

Purpose: The Internet, as a symbol of the new era of information and communication technologies, plays a crucial role in human development and professional growth. This study aimed to explore how Internet self-efficacy mediates the relationship between digital competence and professional growth in teachers.Methodology: The research employed a quantitative approach and a correlational method. The statistical population consisted of teachers in Kermanshah City, with a sample size of 310 teachers selected through available sampling. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires on digital competence, professional development, and Internet self-efficacy. Analysis involved descriptive and inferential statistics, as well as structural equation modeling using SPSS-23 and Smart PLS software.Findings: The study revealed a positive and significant direct impact of digital competence on Internet self-efficacy, on professional growth, and on Internet self-efficacy with professional growth. Additionally, the indirect impact of digital competence on professional development through Internet self-efficacy was positive and significant.Conclusion: Internet self-efficacy plays a crucial role in predicting the relationship between digital competence and teachers' professional growth. Enhancing digital skills enables individuals to leverage resources on the Internet, while self-efficacy beliefs contribute to professional growth. Recognizing the psychological aspects of self-efficacy is essential in achieving professional goals.Value: This research provides a conceptual model for teacher professional growth based on digital competence, highlighting the mediating role of Internet self-efficacy.

Purpose: The present study aimed to identify the level of user satisfaction with the digital library services of Allameh Tabatabai University during the Corona era.Methodology: The research utilized an applied purpose and descriptive survey method. The statistical population consisted of all students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology at Allameh Tabatabai University. Data was collected using a researcher-made questionnaire distributed electronically, with 156 out of 450 respondents answering the questionnaire thoroughly. One-sample t-test was used to test hypotheses, supplemented by additional tests such as t-test for two independent samples, ANOVA, Friedman, Levin, and Tukey. The validity of the questionnaire was established through content validity method with a coefficient above 0.76, and reliability was confirmed through Cronbach's test with a coefficient of 0.726.Findings: Results revealed that user satisfaction with accessing online library services, service interface environment, information retrieval, visual effects, and personal library services of Allameh Tabatabai University's digital library were significantly higher than the standard score of 3. However, satisfaction with accessing domestic and international databases was found to be significantly lower than the standard score.Conclusion: Overall, user satisfaction with Allameh Tabatabai University's digital library services was deemed to be in a good state during the Corona era.Value: This study provides insights into user satisfaction with digital library services during a pandemic, offering valuable perspectives on delivering digital information services during crises.

The foreign historiography of China's foreign policy is dominated by the works of American scholars. This situation did not develop immediately and can be explained by several reasons. First, the defeat of Chiang Kai-shek and the victory of the Chinese Communists were perceived by the US authorities as a “loss of China”. Responsibility for it was not least assigned to American sinologists, who often provided consulting services to the Kuomintang. In addition, Americans, including officials and scholars, had no direct contacts with Chinese citizens until the early 1970s.The first such contacts appeared in 1971–1972, including among some journalists (in the context of R. Nixon's visit to China in February 1972) and a small number of China’s scholars (for example, John Fairbank in 1972, received by Zhou Enlai). After the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and the People's Republic of China on January 1, 1979, American sinologists received full access to the country of study, and the quantity and quality of sinological works began to grow exponentially. The article examines the main works by the most famous experts on the foreign policy of the PRC. It can be stated that before the presidency of Donald Trump, the United States had a predominantly positive attitude towards China and its foreign policy, and only later did the point of view about the growing contradictions between Beijing and Washington prevail.

Japanese poster is an integral element of modern graphic culture, which has become famous due to the professional skills of its authors and recognisable visual appearance. This is also how it is perceived in Russia, where since the mid-1960s Japanese poster art and its creators have occupied a special place. The article reconstructs the historiographical trajectory of the description of Japanese posters in the USSR on the basis of reviews of international graphic biennales in the socialist republics. Based on archival materials and periodicals, the author reconstructs the event field of representation of Japanese contemporary posters in the USSR and Russia, including all the main exhibitions of local and international significance, as well as the key features of the Soviet and post-Soviet periods of perception of this phenomenon. The appendix to the article contains a list of exhibitions of Japanese poster art in the USSR and Russia from 1974 to 2021.

The article examines the channels of Soviet-Chinese cooperation in cinematography in the 1950s. As in other sectors of the national economy, in the film industry Soviet specialists assisted Chinese colleagues in restoring work in the first years after the formation of the PRC. They established professional contacts and a mechanism of bilateral cooperation, which took place in the form of joint filming of documentary, feature, scientific and educational films, mutual exchanges of films, newsreels, festivals and film weeks, and delegation exchanges. In the shortest possible time China managed to establish its film production and join the global film business. The Soviet Union and the People’s Republic of China shared an ideological platform and an understanding of the importance of cinema as an essential tool for propaganda and education of the people. Cinema helped Soviet and Chinese viewers get acquainted with each other’s history and modern life, to deepen mutual understanding and friendly relations, which have undoubtedly benefited inter-State relations. However, under the influence of political factors by the end of the 1950s the cooperation began to decline and came to the end in 1962.

This essay examines two mutually exclusive positions on the origins and development of the Kampuchean People's Revolutionary Party (KPRP). The first is the position of the Pol Pot ‒ Ieng Sary group: the revolutionary movement in Cambodia developed and won independently. The second is the position of the healthy forces of the KPRP: the Cambodian revolution is a part of the revolutions in Vietnam and Laos. The revolutions in the three countries ‒ Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia ‒ took different paths and triumphed at different times, allowing Pol Pot's group to claim that the Kampuchean revolution had no connection with the Indochinese Communist Party. After France conquered Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in the second half of the 19th century, the three countries became part of the Indochina Federation, with Vietnam playing a leading role. The author shows that the national liberation movement in Cambodia developed within the framework of the Indochina Union. The Indochinese Communist Party (ICP), created by Ho Chi Minh in 1930, also included Cambodian communists, so at that time the relations between the anti-colonial forces of Cambodia and Vietnam were of a close fraternal nature. Thanks to the help of the Workers' Party of Vietnam and the CPSU, the revolution in Cambodia was ahead of events in Vietnam and Laos. The anti-people actions of the Pol Pot regime caused wide discontent among the population. Pol Pot's authorities made public the essence of their conflict with Vietnam, declaring at press conferences and in the mass media that Vietnam was seeking to include Kampuchea in the Indochina Federation controlled by Vietnam. In 2017, Cambodia and Vietnam signed a framework agreement to connect the economies of the two countries. In 2022, Cambodia, with the support of Vietnam, became the chairman of ASEAN. 2022 was declared the Year of Vietnam- Cambodian Friendship. The allied experience of Cambodia and Vietnam can be useful for modern Russia.

The article is devoted to the 28th conference of Korean studies experts from Russia and the CIS countries, which took place on March 28-29, 2024 in the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia RAS (Moscow). The korean scholars from leading scientific institutions in Russia and the CIS countries examined a wide range of political, economic, cultural, and historical issues related to the Korean Peninsula. The article highlights the main theses presented at the conference by the speakers, the number of whom exceeded 30 people this year. It is noted that much attention was paid to the analysis of the current political situation on the Korean Peninsula; prospects for cooperation between the Russian Federation and the DPRK; economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea under sanctions; analysis of the domestic and foreign policy of the current administration of the Republic of Korea; relations between the PRC and both Korean states. A separate plenary session was devoted to the topic of Koryoin, as well as works on the study of Korean culture and art.

The last decade has seen a significant number of remarkable expansions in machine ‎learning research. The field has achieved unprecedented popularity by developing new areas and ‎increased momentum on the existing sites. Whereas the symbolic methods have been exceedingly ‎active, the sub-symbolic approaches, especially the neural networks, have had tremendous ‎growth. Unlike the efforts whose main concentrations were on the single learning strategies, the ‎new trends have been to integrate various methods and for the development of cognitive learning ‎architectures. Besides, there is an increased interest in the experimental comparisons of several ‎methods and learning algorithms' theoretical analysis. The same data sets have often been shared ‎amongst the researchers who have led to applying the same techniques in dealing with the same ‎problems to understand the relative merits of various methods. There are new insights that have ‎been brought into the complexity of the learning process through theoretical investigations. This research is a new attempt to purify the modeling concepts from some misleading geographical published papers and unpublished M.A. theses & Ph.D. dissertations that dealt with grid-based spatial modeling irrationally. Recently, it was noticed that there is a conceptual confusion among many researchers concerning the GIS-based modeling environment. The confusion was detected from several perspectives. Firstly, there is a vague thinking among researchers in differentiating between GISystems (GISs) and GIScience (GISc) modeling approaches and between the rightful definitions of GIS-analysts and GIS-modelers. Secondly, differentiating between types of GIS-based models especially between "Ready-to-Use", "Programming-Modified", and "Programming Stand-Alone" models. Thirdly, the vigorously methodological misuse of the modeling procedures in which GIS-modelers should strictly follow. In this respect, this research shed lights on grid modeling algorithms of GIS Spatial Modeling -also called GIS-based Geospatial Modeling-. Three algorithms are chosen such as; Cartographic Modeling (CM), Surface Modeling Technique (SMT), and Impedance Surface Modeling (ISM). Empirically, modeling settlement/urban growth change is chosen to be applicable to all selected and proposed modeling algorithms. Furthermore, it aims to offer a perusable study of these algorithms. Objectifying to study the concepts, characteristics, designs, structures, conditions, conceptual designed methodology, and procedures of both conventional and suggested modified algorithms. Furthermore, it focuses on producing critical assessment for traditional algorithm and then generating and proposing new modifications concerning the chosen application for each modeling approach. Finally, the study offers new geospatial modeling modifications to overcome the existing modeling algorithms' obstacles, limited usage, locality, performance deficiencies, and other modeling disadvantages.

The review of recent developments in groundwater spatial modeling research from Arab and foreign sources for the years 2013–2023 is the focus of the current study. The study adhered to a number of methodological guidelines, first outlining the bibliometric analysis of groundwater spatial modeling works and the key research areas it examined. Next, research The study's sources were located by searching the intellectual output stored in the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) as well as the international databases Scoups & Web of Science, SCiNiTO, Dar Al-Mandumah, and the database of Iraqi academic scientific journals. The latter contained research papers in a variety of Arabic sources. from international and Arab periodicals that are strongly associated with the research topic.In the study, 221 studies from outside and the Arab world were examined. These were categorized numerically, qualitatively, and spatially, and they were analyzed based on historical stages that demonstrated the evolution of research trends and the changes they had observed. Along with reviewing researchers' participation work and scientific specializations, the study also offered the most significant research trends, issues, and approaches, as well as data collection and presentation methodologies and strategies. The study yielded a collection of findings that assess the study and offer some suggestions that could benefit scholars and those interested in groundwater spatial modeling investigations.

The article analyzes the main problems and prospects for economic development of the Russian macro-region of Greater Siberia in the context of the main trend in the Russian foreign economic activity in recent years – the “pivot to the East”. In particular, the difficulties of developing cross-border cooperation between the Far Eastern regions of the Russian Federation and the adjacent regions of neighboring countries – China, Mongolia, and North Korea are highlighted, and possible ways to overcome them are analyzed. The author also describes factors that can either contribute to the accelerated pace of economic development of the macroregion of Greater Siberia, or slow it down. The article aims to contribute to the scientific and expert discourse on the issues of building effective economic relations between Russia and its eastern partners in the medium and long term.

The article analyzes problems in China-US relations in the spheres of economic and humanitarian cooperation. Major trends of their bilateral interaction in these areas are examined as concrete manifestations of the countries’ opposing strategic goals. The author traces the relationship between the political strategies of Beijing and Washington that determine their actions toward each other, including the “two policy clusters” or ”packages” as major paradigms governing the PRC's foreign policy course on the American track. The article provides a comparative analysis of China-US trade turnover, the volume of mutual export and import and their sci-tech component, as well as the volume of mutual direct investment in recent years, taking into account the impact of the “trade war” and COVID-19 pandemic. The article analyzes reasons for decline in the role of the two countries’ “soft power” in humanitarian cooperation and observes the dynamics of China-US academic exchanges and tourist flows intensity, weakening of bilateral interaction in the field of cinema and shrinking of Confucius Institutes operating in the US. It is concluded that despite the stagnation of bilateral ties in economic and humanitarian areas, China and the US are still linked by a network of complex interdependence in various aspects of their economies and societies, which will determine their bilateral interaction stability in those areas where cooperation is most beneficial.

Cooperation in the energy sector, and practically in the field of hydrocarbons, is traditionally and reasonably considered as an important area of multidisciplinary interaction between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China. In terms of its substantive forms, the energy dialogue has a multifaceted character, includes cooperation in mineral exploration, production technologies, capacity generation, investment support for relevant projects. Nevertheless, as it was objectively developed in practice, one of the main elements of cooperation turned out to be the supply of hydrocarbons from Russia to China, which has been increasing since the beginning of the century. This situation reflects the natural complementarity of the economic complexes of the two countries, which, in turn, serves as one of the basic foundations for the compatibility of the national interests of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China. Paying attention to the circumstances above, the author examines the specific practice of cooperation in the field of hydrocarbon supplies, including the documents signed and the projects already implemented or being discussed. The focus is made on the current situation, when, in the context of large- scale sanctions pressure from the West, the task of reorientation of domestic energy exports to the East, including to China, is being considered systemically important for Russia. Pointing out the existing difficulties, the article contains a conclusion about the overall positive prospects for Russian-Chinese hydrocarbon cooperation.

El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la producción científica del personal docente e investigador de la Universidad de Salamanca durante el periodo 2010-2015. Sobre la base de dos conjuntos de datos que contienen esta producción y las referencias bibliográficas citadas en ella, se determinaron los siguientes indicadores: a) las áreas de conocimiento más productivas, b) los tipos documentales escogidos para divulgar la investigación; c) el tipo de acceso que presentan, y d) los tipos documentales empleados como referencias bibliográficas, su obsolescencia y su tipo de acceso. Se recurrió a una metodología cuantitativa, con un diseño transversal, empleando la estadística descriptiva para generar y analizar los resultados. Se concluye que las áreas de conocimiento más productivas fueron las Ciencias Físicas y las Ciencias de la Salud; y trabajando en colaboración, las Ciencias de la Salud con las Ciencias de la Vida. El tipo documental predominante es el artículo científico, seguido por las comunicaciones a congresos. La mayor parte de estas publicaciones están en acceso restringido. En las referencias bibliográficas, prima asimismo el artículo científico, seguido por los libros y los capítulos de libros. Estas referencias citadas tienen una vida media comprendida entre 6 y 9 años. Predomina el acceso cerrado y, entre las modalidades de acceso abierto, la vía verde = This article aims to analyze the scientific production of the teaching and research staff of the University of Salamanca during the period 2010-2015. Based on two sets of data that contain this production and the bibliographic references cited in it, the following indicators were determined: a) the most productive areas of knowledge, b) the types of documents chosen to disseminate the research, c) the type of access that present; and d) the types of documents used as bibliographic references, their obsolescence, and their type of access. A quantitative methodology with a cross-sectional design was used, using descriptive statistics to generate and analyze the results. It is concluded that the most productive areas of knowledge were Physical Sciences and Health Sciences, and working in collaboration, Health Sciences with Life Sciences. The predominant document type is the scientific article, followed by conference communications. Most of these publications are in restricted access. The scientific article also takes precedence in bibliographic references, followed by books and book chapters. These cited references have a half-life between 6 and 9 years. Closed access predominates, and green open access predominates among the open access modalities.

Se analiza la productividad de los autores que publicaron artículos en la revista Contratexto, desde 1985 hasta 2022, se busca identificar a los autores más productivos y aquellos que constituyen el núcleo de autores productores. Para ello, se construyó una base de datos bibliográfica dedicada a la revista en el gestor de referencias Endnote X9; posteriormente, los datos fueron exportados a Excel y trabajados con los paquetes nls2 y proto del Proyecto R. La productividad de los autores fue medida con la Ley de Lotka mediante el modelo del poder inverso generalizado, en el análisis de los datos se consideraron las tres formas de conteo: directo, completo y fraccionado. Para medir el ajuste de los datos observados a la distribución de Lotka para cada una de las formas de conteo se usaron la prueba chi-cuadrado y Kolmogorov-Smirnov. Se encontró que el modelo del poder inverso generalizado para las tres formas de conteo se ajusta a la distribución de Lotka. Se encontró también una alta concentración de autores con un solo artículo publicado en la revista en sus 38 años de existencia, los autores más productivos en el periodo de estudio en su mayoría están vinculados a la universidad que edita la revista = The productivity of the authors who published articles in the journal Contratexto, from 1985 to 2022, was analyzed to identify the most productive authors and those who constitute the core of producing authors. For this purpose, a bibliographic database dedicated to the journal was built in the Endnote X9 reference manager; subsequently, the data were exported to Excel and processed in Project R. The productivity of the authors was measured with Lotka’s Law using the generalized inverse power model; the three forms of counting were considered in the analysis of the data: direct, complete, and fractional. The chi-square test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test were used to measure the fit of the observed data to the Lotka distribution for each of the counting methods. The generalized inverse power model for the three counting forms was found to fit Lotka’s distribution. A high concentration of authors with only one article published in the journal in its 38 years of existence was also found; the most productive authors in the studied period are mostly linked to the university that publishes the journal.

La preservación digital sistémica representa un enfoque archivístico y estratégico necesario para su comprensión integral y para garantizar la continuidad del patrimonio digital, el acceso y la disponibilidad de los documentos electrónicos y objetos digitales a largo plazo. La propuesta metodológica de preservación digital que se presenta se basa en la sistematización de experiencias de consultoría y asesoría desarrolladas por el Centro de Investigaciones en Ciencia de la Información (CICINF) de la Escuela Interamericana de Bibliotecología de la Universidad de Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia). Esta sistematización presenta la metodología de consultoría, bajo un enfoque cualitativo, el cual se caracteriza por la interacción universidad-sector-estado, el trabajo interdisciplinario, la sustentación teórica, la valoración y estimación de propuestas acorde con los contextos institucionales. Algunos de los resultados enmarcan la importancia del diagnóstico, la política, el plan, los proyectos, el programa y los procesos de preservación digital y la necesidad de documentar las prácticas, en tanto este es un tema especializado que requiere un nivel de profundidad adecuado en relación con los contextos sociales y tecnologías que cambian y se transforman permanentemente = Systemic digital preservation represents an archival and strategic approach necessary for its comprehensive understanding and to ensure the continuity of digital heritage, access and availability of electronic records and digital objects in the long term. The digital preservation methodological proposal presented here is based on the systematization of consulting and advisory experiences developed by the Information Science Research Center (CICINF) of the Inter-American School of Librarianship of the University of Antioquia (Medellin, Colombia). This systematization presents the consulting methodology, under a qualitative approach, which is characterized by the interaction between university-sector-state, interdisciplinary work, theoretical support, evaluation and estimation of proposals according to the institutional contexts. Some of the results frame the importance of the diagnosis, policy, plan, projects, program and processes of digital preservation and the need to document the practices, as this is a specialized subject that requires an adequate level of depth in relation to the social contexts and technologies that are constantly changing and transforming.

Para determinar la aptitud de materiales de embalaje elaborados en papel/cartón y empleados en diferentes instituciones públicas a cargo de patrimonio documental costarricense, se llevó a cabo la medición de la acidez (pH) de los materiales, así como el uso de espectroscopía infrarroja para estudiar los cambios en la estructura cristalina de las moléculas de la celulosa del papel, las cuales influyen en la oxidación y degradación de la celulosa como consecuencia del envejecimiento (Chiriu et al., 2018). Estudiar los materiales empleados para embalar y almacenar documentos con valor histórico/patrimonial resulta de alta importancia ya que son estos los que se mantienen en contacto directo con los bienes por años, inclusive décadas. En total se llevó a cabo la medición de las propiedades fisicoquímicas en cuatro estadios de envejecimiento diferentes (0, 8, 15 y 28 días), para comparar los resultados y conocer los cambios y degradaciones en los materiales, esto con el fin de establecer cuáles de los materiales muestreados resultan más aptos para embalar patrimonio documental, tanto a corto como a largo plazo, y según los parámetros analizados = In order to determine the suitability of packaging materials made of paper/cardboard and used in different public institutions in charge of Costa Rican documentary heritage, the measurement of the acidity (pH) of the materials was carried out, as well as the use of infrared spectroscopy to study the changes in the crystalline structure of paper cellulose molecules, which influence the oxidation and degradation of cellulose as a consequence of aging (Chiriu et al., 2018). Studying the materials used to package and store documents with historical/heritage value is of high importance since these are the ones that remain in direct contact with the cultural assets for years, even decades. In total, the measurement of the physicochemical properties was carried out in four different aging stages (0, 8, 15 and 28 days) in order to compare the results and establish the changes and degradations in the materials, this to determine which of the sampled materials are more suitable for packaging documentary heritage, both in the short and long term, and according to the parameters analyzed.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el desarrollo y la gestión de las políticas culturales locales, con un enfoque específico en la red de Bibliotecas Públicas de Barcelona. Esta nueva mirada en la política cultural busca integrar la cultura local y movilizar comunidades, impulsada por la priorización de la gobernanza del sistema cultural. Dentro de este contexto, entre las iniciativas que abrazan esta nueva perspectiva, se destaca el papel que desempeñan las bibliotecas como espacios privilegiados para fomentar una “cultura común”, fortaleciendo la cohesión social y generando valor en el ámbito social. El desafío que implica para estas instituciones adaptarse a nuevos roles, como centros de “hacedores de cultura” y promotores del consumo digital, es esencial. Para el análisis, se plantean dos enfoques principales. Primero, se examina el valor social de las bibliotecas desde la perspectiva de su gestión directiva, explorando cómo este concepto se integra en su día a día y su relevancia como puntos de encuentro comunitario en Barcelona. Segundo, se evalúa el impacto de las políticas institucionales y las demandas laborales en el funcionamiento de estas bibliotecas, considerando su aplicación en el contexto específico de estas instituciones culturales. Para llevar a cabo este análisis, se emplea una perspectiva cualitativa. Como resultado, se ha podido concluir que la política pública de bibliotecas en Barcelona debe contar con una participación ciudadana activa y real para ser efectiva, entendiendo que la democratización cultural implica no solo el acceso físico, sino también un compromiso activo de la comunidad. Se observa que la administración pública implementa una política “top down” muy marcada, contrastando con el trabajo cotidiano de gestión de las bibliotecas. A pesar de los esfuerzos para fortalecer el valor social de estos equipamientos, surgen desafíos, como la precariedad en presupuesto y recursos humanos, que limitan el desarrollo efectivo de la política. Los bibliotecarios desempeñan un papel vital como mediadores culturales, pero la brecha entre la proyección pública y la realidad operativa destaca la necesidad de abordar los desafíos laborales y sociales que enfrentan las bibliotecas en su funcionamiento diario = This article aims to analyze the development and management of local cultural policies, with a specific focus on the Public Libraries network in Barcelona. This new look at cultural policies seeks to integrate local culture and mobilize communities, driven by the prioritization of the governance of the cultural system. Within this context, among the initiatives that embrace this new perspective, the role of libraries as privileged spaces for fostering a “common culture”, strengthening social cohesion, and generating value in the social sphere stands out. The challenge for these institutions to adapt to new roles, such as being centers of “culture makers” and promoters of digital consumption, is essential. For the analysis, two main approaches are considered. First, the social value of libraries is examined from the perspective of their management, exploring how this concept is integrated into their day-to-day work and their relevance as community meeting points in Barcelona. Second, it assesses the impact of institutional policies and labor demands on the functioning of these libraries, considering their application in the specific context of these cultural institutions. In order to carry out this analysis, a qualitative perspective is used. As a result, it has been possible to conclude that the public policy of libraries in Barcelona must have an active and real citizen participation to be effective, understanding that cultural democratization implies not only physical access, but also an active commitment of the community. It is observed that the public administration implements a very marked “top down” policy, contrasting with the daily work of library management. Despite efforts to strengthen the social value of these facilities, challenges arise, such as the precariousness of the budget and human resources, which limit the effective development of the policy. Librarians play a vital role as cultural mediators, but the gap between public projection and operational reality highlights the need to address the labor and social challenges faced by libraries in their daily operations.

El propósito de este trabajo es analizar los métodos y prácticas archivísticas en los fondos personales con respecto a la organización y se hace foco en los procedimientos que se llevan a cabo para la confección de los cuadros de clasificación en fondos de personas vinculadas a las artes del espectáculo. La población de análisis estuvo conformada por el fondo del archivo del destacado actor, director, dramaturgo y docente argentino Juan Carlos Gené, que se encuentra en el Instituto de Artes del Espectáculo “Dr. Raúl H. Castagnino” perteneciente a la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad de Buenos Aires. Con el fin de obtener un panorama más detallado se diseñó un instrumento de recolección de datos para su posterior análisis en relación con lo existente en el fondo, las actividades del productor y su representación en el cuadro de clasificación = The purpose of this article is to explore the archival methods and practices used in organizing personal archives, with a specific focus on the procedures employed in creating classification scheme in collections related to the performing arts. The study population selected for this research corresponds to the personal archive of Juan Carlos Gené, held at the Instituto de Artes del Espectáculo, which belongs to the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the Universidad de Buenos Aires. In order to obtain a more detailed overview of the state of the archive, a data collection instrument was designed for subsequent analysis in relation to what exists in the personal archive, the producer’s activities, and their representation in the classification scheme.

A diferencia de otros países, la denominada como Feria Internacional del Libro de España (LIBER) actualmente no es tan popular e incluso podríamos decir que se encuentra en pleno proceso de redefinir qué rol debe jugar en el campo editorial español e internacional. A pesar de ello, LIBER encuentra todavía buena acogida entre los distribuidores españoles e iberoamericanos. De todo ello dará cuenta este artículo, apoyándose tanto en documentación y entrevistas como en fuentes diversas recabadas a lo largo de un trabajo de campo realizado en LIBER Madrid durante los meses finales de 2017. Una edición de la feria que contó además con Argentina como país invitado de honor, cuya presencia será también analizada aquí pormenorizadamente = Nowadays, the Spanish International Book Fair (LIBER) is not very popular, and it is redefining its own role within the Spanish publishing field. However, LIBER is still a suitable event for Spanish and Latin America distributors. This work deals with these issues informed by a field work carried out in the fair during the last months of 2017. LIBER´2017 had also Argentina as Guest of Honour, which performance is analysed in detail in this paper.

Las personas con discapacidad se enfrentan a diario con barreras que derivan del entorno físico, material o social en el que se desenvuelven. Para lograr que dicho entorno sea completamente inclusivo, se debe garantizar la accesibilidad, realizar las adaptaciones necesarias y reconocer las habilidades de cada individuo. El presente artículo muestra los resultados de una investigación llevada a cabo con el fin de comprobar si las bibliotecas están respondiendo a las necesidades los usuarios con discapacidad. Se analiza la producción científica en este ámbito en los últimos cincuenta años relacionada con las iniciativas de accesibilidad e inclusión destinadas a garantizar el acceso a la información de las personas con discapacidad en función del tipo de esta. Dicho análisis se sustenta en la realización de una revisión sistemática sobre el uso de los conceptos de “accesibilidad” e “inclusión” relacionados con el de “biblioteca” en la producción científica del ámbito de la Biblioteconomía y la Documentación en las bases de datos de Web of Science, Scopus y Library Science Database, Con ello, se pretende estudiar la atención que se presta a las personas con discapacidad y, en especial, a las personas con discapacidad auditiva = People with disabilities face daily barriers arising from the physical, material, or social environment in which they live. In order to make such an environment fully inclusive, accessibility must be guaranteed, the necessary adaptations must be made, and the abilities of each individual must be recognised. This article shows the results of a research carried out with the aim of checking whether libraries are responding to the needs of users with disabilities. It analyses the scientific production in this field over the last fifty years related to accessibility and inclusion initiatives aimed at guaranteeing access to information for people with disabilities according to the type of disability. This analysis is based on a systematic review of the use of the concepts of “accessibility” and “inclusion” related to “library” in the scientific production in the field of Library and Information Science in the databases of Web of Science, Scopus and Library Science Database, aiming to study the attention paid to people with disabilities and, in particular, to people with hearing disability.

Se propone una investigación acerca de la participación de las bibliotecas universitarias del ámbito público y privado de Argentina en el uso y la gestión de los cursos en línea masivos y abiertos (MOOC) y de otros dispositivos de instrucción en línea a partir de la pandemia de COVID-19. En función de los resultados obtenidos por el equipo de investigación en un proyecto previo sobre la misma temática, se aplicará un estudio exploratorio, multi metodológico y no experimental con el objetivo de conocer el rol de las bibliotecas universitarias con relación al dictado de MOOC y de otros dispositivos de instrucción en línea en el período de la pandemia y la pospandemia, con énfasis en los programas ofrecidos de forma gratuita y abierta. A su vez, se explorará en qué medida las bibliotecas bajo análisis se encuentran vinculadas con los servicios de tecnología de la universidad y se estudiarán los mecanismos de almacenamiento, difusión y preservación digital de los MOOC y otros dispositivos de instrucción en línea = An investigation is proposed on the participation of public and private university libraries in Argentina on the use and management of massive open online courses (MOOCs) and other online learning devices in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the results obtained by the research team in a previous project on the same topic, an exploratory, multi-methodological and non-experimental study will be applied with the aim of understanding the role of university libraries in relation to the delivery of MOOCs and other online learning devices in the period of the pandemic and post-pandemic, with emphasis on free and open programs. In turn, the extent to which the libraries under analysis are linked to university technology services will be explored, and the mechanisms of storage, dissemination, and digital preservation of MOOCs and other online learning devices will be studied.

Los clubes de lectura promueven la socialización, la participación y el sentido de comunidad y facilitan que las personas interactúen en torno a la experiencia de la lectura compartida. Son prácticas lectoras asociadas a las bibliotecas públicas, muy extendidas en entornos urbanos y rurales, y en general, altamente feminizadas. En los últimos años los clubes de lectura han sido estudiados desde enfoques disciplinares distintos, aunque la investigación académica es todavía incipiente. El objetivo general de este trabajo consiste en identificar las prácticas lectoras desarrolladas en los clubes de lectura en el medio rural aragonés. De forma específica se plantea también: identificar y caracterizar los clubes de lectura activos en los municipios de Aragón, exceptuando aquellos ubicados en las capitales de provincia; conocer y describir las dinámicas de funcionamiento desarrolladas en ellos por las lectoras y también describir y valorar en particular las funciones desarrolladas por las mujeres en los clubes de lectura. La metodología utilizada se ha desarrollado en diferentes etapas: a) Identificación de las fuentes de información; b) Recogida y procesado de información incluyendo el mapeo de los clubes de lectura en el entorno rural y su caracterización detallada y c) el análisis crítico de los datos obtenidos = Book clubs promote socialization, participation and a sense of community and facilitate the interaction of people around the shared reading experience. They are reading practices associated with public libraries, widespread in urban and rural environments and, in general, highly feminized. In recent years, book clubs have been studied from different disciplinary approaches, although academic research is still incipient. The general objective of this work is to identify the reading practices developed in reading clubs in rural Aragon. Specifically, the aim is to: identify and characterize the reading clubs active in the Aragonese municipalities, except for those located in the provincial capitals; to know and describe the dynamics of operation developed in them by women readers; as well as to describe and value especially the functions developed by women in the reading clubs. The methodology used was developed in different stages: a) Identification of the sources of information; b) Collection and treatment of the information and treatment of the information including the mapping of the reading clubs in rural areas and their detailed characterization; and c) Critical analysis of the data obtained. data obtained.

El Grupo de Estudios sobre la Cultura Escrita y la Historia de la Lectura (GECEHLec), fue creado en julio de 2023 en el Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliotecológicas (INIBI) de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (Universidad de Buenos Aires). Se propone como un espacio de articulación de docencia, investigación y extensión en el que participan estudiantes de grado, de posgrado e investigadores con diversos grados de formación interesados en los estudios de la Cultura Escrita y la Lectura. A partir de grandes ejes temáticos: el libro, sus materialidades, la Historia de las Bibliotecas, la Historia de la Lectura, entre otros, con un enfoque interdisciplinario, donde el intercambio y la elaboración de proyectos y actividades enriquecen el abordaje de los procesos relacionados con la Cultura Escrita = The Grupo de Estudios sobre la Cultura Escrita y la Historia de la Lectura (GECEHLec), was created in July 2023 at the Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliotecológicas (INIBI) of the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (Universidad de Buenos Aires). It is proposed as a space for the articulation of teaching, research and extension in which undergraduate and graduate students and researchers with various degrees of training interested in the studies of Written and Reading Culture participate. Based on major thematic axes: the book, its materialities, the History of Libraries, the History of Reading, among others, with an interdisciplinary approach where the exchange and development of projects and activities enrich the approach to related processes with Written Culture.

Las nuevas tecnologías digitales han modificado sustancialmente la forma en la cual se comunica el conocimiento científico. Este trabajo se propone evaluar el impacto de la implementación de un plan de comunicación sociodigital para la revista Arqueología (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, Universidad de Buenos Aires), diseñado para favorecer la diseminación y el alcance de los contenidos publicados a través del ecosistema digital. Para ello se realizó una propuesta metodológica a fin de evaluar su visibilidad en las redes sociales, el comportamiento de los usuarios en la página web y el impacto de los contenidos publicados durante el período 2018-2022, a partir de distintos indicadores altmétricos y bibliométricos. Como resultado se constató que los efectos de la pandemia, así como la ejecución de una estrategia de difusión, aumentaron la visibilidad de la publicación en redes sociales, generando un incremento en la cantidad de visualizaciones y descargas de los artículos. Estos hallazgos subrayan la relevancia de considerar diversas dimensiones de interacción en línea para comprender el impacto académico de las investigaciones científicas = New digital technologies have modified the way scientific knowledge is being communicated. This work intends to evaluate the impact of a socio-digital communication plan implemented for the journal Arqueología (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, Universidad de Buenos Aires), designed to boost the distribution and outreach of published content in the digital ecosystem. We proposed a method to evaluate the journal’s visibility in social networks, website user behavior and the impact of the published content from 2018 to 2022, based on different altmetric and bibliometric indicators. The results of said analysis show that the effects of the pandemic coupled with the implementation of a dissemination strategy increased the journal’s visibility in social networks, which in turn produced an increase in the number of views and downloads of its papers. These findings highlight the importance of considering various types of online interaction to better understand the academic impact of scientific research.

En este estudio se propone una metodología utilizando OpenAlex (OA) para monitorear el acceso abierto (AA) a las publicaciones científicas para el caso de Argentina, país donde rige el mandato de autoarchivo -Ley 26.899 (2013)-. Se conformó una muestra con 167.240 artículos de investigadores del Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) que se analizaron con técnicas estadísticas. Se estimó que OA puede representar entre 85-93% de los autores para todas las disciplinas, excepto Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades, donde solo alcanza al 47%. Se calculó que 41% de los artículos publicados entre 1953-2021 incluidos en la fuente están en AA, porcentaje que sube a 46% al considerar exclusivamente el periodo post ley (2014-2021). En ambos periodos es la vía dorada la que representa mayor proporción. Al comparar periodos iguales post y pre ley, se observó que la tendencia en alza de la vía dorada era preexistente a la legislación y la disponibilidad de artículos cerrados en repositorios aumentó un 5% a lo que se estima en base a tendencias existentes. Se concluye que si bien la vía verde ha tenido una evolución positiva, ha sido la publicación en revistas doradas lo que ha impulsado más rápidamente el acceso a la producción argentina. Asimismo, que la metodología basada en OA, piloteada aquí por primera vez, es viable para monitorear el AA en Argentina ya que arroja porcentajes similares a otros estudios nacionales e internacionales = This study proposes a methodology using OpenAlex (OA) for tracking Open Access publications in the case of Argentina, a country where a self-archiving mandate has been in effect since 2013 (Law 26.899, 2013). A sample of 167,240 papers by researchers from the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) was created and analyzed using statistical techniques. We estimate that OA is able to capture between 85-93% of authors for all disciplines, with the exception of Social Sciences and Humanities, where it only reaches an estimated 47%. The availability of papers in Open Access was calculated to be 41% for the period 1953-2021 and 46% when considering exclusively the post-law period (2014-2021). In both periods, gold Open Access made up the most common route. When comparing equal periods post and pre-law, we observed that the upward trend of gold Open Access was pre-existing to the legislation and the availability of closed articles in repositories increased by 5% to what is estimated based on existing trends. However, while the green route has had a positive evolution, it has been the publication in gold journals that has boosted access to Argentine production more rapidly. We concluded that the OA-based methodology, piloted here for the first time, is viable for tracking Open Access in Argentina since it yields percentages similar to other national and international studies.

The significance of resilience, an attribute that remains underexplored within the context of open data, holds immense potential for shaping long-term advantage in the sustainability. This research aims to underscore the importance of incorporating resilience considerations in the establishment and sustenance of ecosystems specifically designed to foster open government data. Through a case study conducted in Taiwan, this paper showcases the integration of an ecosystem and platform model, facilitating a more resilient and sustainable Open Government Data (OGD) system, particularly attuned to adaptative responses in the face of systemic shocks and crises. This paper emphasizes the critical role of a supportive ecosystem, a well-designed open data platform, and a user-friendly interface in realizing the full potential of open government data and open data initiatives. These interconnected factors necessitate careful consideration and strategic development to achieve successful outcomes. By (1) presenting a case study of Taiwan to exemplify the fusion of OGD ecosystem and platform models, and (2) offering insights into the design of an OGD ecosystem from a resilience perspective, this paper contributes to the existing literature. This holistic approach allows for the integration of diverse perspectives, stakeholders, and knowledge sources, fostering resilience and adaptability within the OGD landscape.

Universities around the world have faced challenges in maintaining face-to-face knowledge sharing. Knowledge sharing through web technology is an essential solution for all universities. However, web technology-based knowledge-sharing practices in developing countries such as Ethiopia face many challenges. This study examines the factors that challenge the use of web technologies for knowledge-sharing practices by academic staff and presents recommendations to improve the current environment in Ethiopian public universities. The study employed semi-structured interviews with 30 respondents and analyzed the data using Nvivo qualitative data analysis software. The results revealed that lack of technical skill, lack of systems integrated into teaching-learning practice, lack of awareness, lack of an appropriate reward system, lack of commitment from top management, lack of a knowledge-sharing policy, and a lack of knowledge mapping are among the identified challenges hindering the knowledge-sharing practice of academic staff. These findings provide evidence of knowledge-sharing practices and give insights regarding enhancing knowledge-sharing practices within higher education. In addition, this study also contributes to the body of knowledge about the challenges of knowledge sharing. The findings will benefit academic staff, university administrations, and higher education institutions. Future studies could consider replicating this study from a quantitative method perspective with a larger sample size focused on Ethiopian public higher education. This study could also be considered for replication from the perspective of private higher education.

The emergence of digital technology in information fields amidst the conditions of the global post-pandemic crisis has promised a variety of solutions because of its inherent multi-facilities on the one hand. However, because of those as well significant threats have emerged on the other hand, such as hoaxes and fraud. The question of how to make this technology a solution must be lived based on digital literacy. Social adaptation in post-COVID-19 requires strengthening digital literacy to produce the expected social conditions. This research employed a qualitative method based on the interview with 25 LIS students chosen due to their connectivities with current digital literacy issues and the pandemic at five universities in Indonesia. Those students’ voices have been considered enough to represent studied phenomena after investigation. The interview data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s three steps of data display, reduction, and verification. The research found that the way of Gen Z society actualizes itself in adjusting to the post-pandemic environment is vital in several aspects that consist of identity, critical reasoning, social participation, and societal empowerment. Besides, digital literacy in the context of social adaptation functions as a means of society, strengthening the position of rights, responsibilities, citizenship, and community safety. The research has successfully discovered the phenomena of those aspects based on in-depth qualitative analysis. Unfortunately, it is limited to the descriptive analysis framed in a narrative condition. Therefore, further research needs to consider the quantitative trends to discover the generation’s adaptability level in encountering the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout history, human beings have developed a variety of strategies to traverse the enormous knowledge space and locate specific information. Taking metaphorical use of space as a means of conceptualizing information, namely where numerous information reside could be regarded as a vast space and the trail navigating through the space to find information could be seen as an information path. The referenceable order or structure within information space is crucial in the process of information revisiting. From oral culture, written culture to bits culture, the research intends as a review of diverse methods of information organization, storage and retrieval developed in Western civilization. By looking at representative knowledge management systems in three cultures, the discussion would be approached from the perspectives of mnemotechnics, library science and computer science. This research focuses on the classification of Chinese Buddhist scripture catalogs, employing advanced deep learning methods to develop an automatic classification mechanism. Chinese Buddhist scripture catalogs serve as vital tools for organizing and retrieving Buddhist literature, facilitating research in the field. However, with the continuous addition of new texts and the need to adapt to modern academic research requirements, traditional manual classification methods have become time-consuming and less effective. In this study, we aim to address this challenge by harnessing the power of deep learning techniques. Our research not only involves the integration of new literature into existing catalog structures but also explores the reasons behind misclassifications in these catalogs. Additionally, we examine the inherent connections between different categories of scriptures to provide a comprehensive understanding of the catalog structure. Our contributions in this research encompass: 1. Automatic Classification: We pioneer the use of deep learning methods for the classification of Buddhist scripture catalogs, allowing for faster and more accurate categorization of texts. This automated approach significantly enhances the efficiency of catalog management. 2. Error Analysis: We delve into the reasons behind misclassifications in the catalogs, shedding light on common pitfalls and misconceptions in traditional classification methods. 3. Interconnections: We uncover the original interrelationships between different categories of scriptures, offering valuable insights for adjusting and optimizing the catalog structure to align with contemporary research needs. 4. Practical Application: The research findings are adopted by the CBETA research group as a reference tool for the cataloging of new literature in future editions of the Tripitaka, ensuring that the catalog remains up-to-date and relevant. This research is a significant step towards modernizing the management of Chinese Buddhist scripture catalogs, making them more efficient, accurate, and adaptable to the evolving landscape of Buddhist literature. This study aims to explore the promotion of family engagement practices in public libraries from librarians’ perspectives. This is a qualitative study, involving 18 librarians working in township libraries in Taiwan. Data were gathered through interviews, organized and analyzed employing a thematic analysis approach. Research findings show that public librarians’ perception of family engagement predominantly focuses on family members’ company and parent-child shared reading. Libraries promote family engagement primarily through close attention to reading needs of minority groups, and active in-depth community-based resident services. In addition, libraries provide diverse reading activities based on the needs and interests of various families. At the same time, libraries take a proactive approach in partnership working to expand the impact of family engagement. Nevertheless, libraries have encountered obstruction in the process. Based on the findings, this study puts forward suggestions for research and practice regarding promotion of family engagement in public libraries. Mo You-Zhi (莫友芝) used the Mongolian Zhong Tong Ben (中統本) and the Dian Ben (殿本) of Shi Ji (史記) to proofread the thirty volumes of the Ji Gu Ge Ben Shi Ji Suo Yin (汲古閣本史記索隱) in his collection at the end of the Ming Dynasty, which were published in imitation of the Song dynasty. Mo’s proofreading was conducted in the context of the creation of the Jinling Publishing House (金陵官書局) to publish the classic and historical texts, and is of some significance to the understanding of the proofreading of Shi Ji in the late Qing Dynasty. Through the verification of the proofs, the differences between the Mao Ben Suo Yin (毛本索隱) and the He Ke Ben Suo Yin (合刻本索隱) are more obvious in the proofs. In addition to the errors in the individual entries, most of the entries can correct the errors in the Mao Ben, and some entries can supplement the shortcomings of the revised version of Shi Ji by the Beijing Zhonghua Book Company (北京中華書局). At the same time, the complexity of the source of Mao Ben Suo Yin is explored with reference to the Zhong Tong Ben, and its complexity is explained as a result of reverse proof-reading (逆向校勘). In the early Qing dynasty, there was a Southern Song dynasty woodblock-printed edition of Du Gong Bu ji (杜工部集), which was composed of reprinted editions of Er Wang Ben (二王本) and Wu Ruo Ben (吳若本). Later, the book became incomplete. Four handwritten copies of the book have survived to this day. Among them, Mao Jin Ben (毛晉本) in Seikado Bunko of Japan (日本靜嘉堂文庫), which is the ancestor of the extant handwritten copies, is the closest to the Song dynasty edition. Mao Yi pointed out that Mao Jin Ben was an apograph. But the Mao Jin Ben is just an ordinary manuscript. Shanghai Library of Mao Yi Ben (毛扆本) was added based on remaining part of original books of the Song dynasty. The supplementary content is based on Mao Jin Ben. In the process of copying, Mao Yi collated Mao Jin Ben based on Qian Zhu Du Shi (錢注杜詩), which led to the loss of Mao Yi Ben and even the original appearance of the Song dynasty edition. The Qian Zeng Ben (錢曾本) of the National Library of China and the handwritten copies of the National Library of Taiwan were instead part of the Mao Jin transcription system. This commentary abridges three closely related aspects of scholarly publishing, copyright transfer to publishers in the subscription-based model, posting of author-accepted versions to preprint servers, and publishing embargoes, to appreciate how each might impact the dissemination of information. We found no direct evidence showing that either copyright transfer or the posting of early (i.e., author-submitted or journal-accepted) versions of works to preprint servers stifle academics’ ability to share their papers openly. However, some key structural issues and incompatibilities in policies may dampen the wider adoption of preprints despite their widely promoted advantages for scientists. We found a 6- to 36-month embargo period in place by 10 of the world’s top largest publishers, depending on the version of the record. These embargoes may constrain the dissemination of knowledge.

Malware has become one of the biggest risks to security due to its rapid expansion. Therefore, it must be quickly detected and removed. While convolutional neural network (CNN) models have expanded to include ensemble and transfer learning approach from previous individual CNN architectures, relatively few studies have compared how well these approaches perform when it comes to malware family detection. A small number of malware varieties have been the focus of several research efforts’ studies. In this study, both of these issues were resolved. We present our own ensemble model for the classification of malware diseases into 34 types. We merge the Microsoft malware dataset with the Malimg dataset to increase the number of malware families identified by the model. To reduce training time and resource consumption, the suggested model utilized the most significant malware features, which are chosen based on the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator method, for the purpose of classifying the malware classes. The experimental findings demonstrate that the ensemble model’s accuracy is 99.78%. Based on the experimental results, we conclude that the model will help with real-world malware classification tasks.

Inaccuracies, false information, and fraudulent work in scientific publications could cause indirect harm, lead to significant negative socioeconomic impacts, and erode public trust in science. Journals – and publishers – play an essential role as gate-keepers in ensuring the veracity of published scientific literature. However, beyond corporate pride and integrity, there is usually no legal obligation or formal regulatory requirement for journals to ensure the veracity of the work they publish or be efficient and transparent in any investigative proceedings. Here, I propose a numerical indicator of the performance of a journal in terms of its efforts at establishing the veracity of the work it publishes and due diligence, an index computed from the following values: a) frequency of alleged irregularities or misconduct, b) frequency of retractions, c) efficiency of the journal’s response to concerns or allegations, and d) transparency and thoroughness with which the journal investigates those concerns and announces its findings and actions.

When the National Institutes of Health (NIH) budget doubled in the late 1990s, it led to a rise in the number of PhD-trained scientists and to increased NIH-funded programs to diversify the biomedical workforce. This trend has seen more PhD scientists take on leadership roles as program directors in academia. These program directors are often highly skilled in research design and data analysis, and they bring a scholarly approach to their administrative duties. Despite organizational challenges, promoting scholarship among program directors offers numerous benefits, including enhanced institutional reputation and better training outcomes. Herein we use examples from peer reviewed literature to illustrate how publications by program directors have influenced national policies and practices in biomedical training. Encouraging more academic institutions to support program director scholarship can yield significant returns for institutions, trainees, and the directors themselves.

A survey of teachers in higher education who teach across borders shows that they experience, in all regions of the world, similar problems with inability to access materials for themselves or their students. They also find that they need to change course design, materials, or assignments because of perceived copyright-related problems. These problems can range from geographically restricted content to inaccessibly high-priced materials to contract limitations on access to library-purchased materials. Educators’ most common copyright problems are not amenable to copyright exceptions for the most part, since their most common problem is access to material at all. This problem arises because of the nature of libraries’ contract terms enabled by copyright, automated practices of applications and platforms, and institutional requirements. Further, educators are also generally poorly informed and poorly supported in understanding copyright, including educational exceptions and exceptions such as fair dealing or fair use. Cervical cancer represents a significant public health challenge, particularly affecting women's health globally. This study aims to advance the understanding of cervical cancer risk prediction research through a bibliometric analysis. The study identified 800 records from Scopus and Web of Science databases, which were reduced to 142 unique records after removing duplicates. Out of 100 abstracts assessed, 42 were excluded based on specific criteria, resulting in 58 studies included in the bibliometric review. Multiple scoping methods such as thematic analysis, citation analysis, bibliographic coupling, natural language processing, Latent Dirichlet Allocation and other visualisation techniques were used to analyse related publications between 2013 and 2024. The key findings revealed the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in cervical cancer risk prediction, integrating expertise from mathematical disciplines, biomedical health, healthcare practitioners, public health, and policy. This approach significantly enhanced the accuracy and efficiency of cervical cancer detection and predictive modelling by adopting advanced machine learning algorithms, such as random forests and support vector machines. The main challenges were the lack of external validation on independent datasets and the need to address model interpretability to ensure healthcare providers understand and trust the predictive models. The study revealed the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in cervical cancer risk prediction. It made recommendations for future research to focus on increasing the external validation of models, improving model interpretability, and promoting global research collaborations to enhance the comprehensiveness and applicability of cervical cancer risk prediction models.

IntroductionThis paper examines the political and security implications of gender-based violence (GBV) research in Yemen during the period (2019–2023). As various radical groups are gaining power over Yemeni land, radical views toward women and gender equity and equality shape the experiences of GBV survivors, practitioners, and researchers in the North of Yemen. Policing Houthi ideologies in Yemen have curtailed GBV research and subjected feminist research to myriad risks. If this situation continues, experiences of women and girls in Yemen will not be captured by research. Their stories and needs will not be captured by humanitarian and peace-building actors.MethodologyFindings of this study are based on primary data from key informant interviews with 25 GBV researchers actively engaged in Yemen. Sampling followed the snowballing technique.ResultsThe findings examine political and security power dynamics after the Houthi radical group took control in the north of Yemen, and implications on GBV research design. Anti-feminist ideologies coupled with extreme security measures have impacted quality of GBV study methodologies as well as researchers' safety and mobility. Donors of previously established GBV programs and research were harassed to change research topics or lose permission to speak to local communities or collect data from aid beneficiaries. Researchers who do not follow new rules of engagement with the community are detained, harassed and their devices and databases are confiscated. Terms like “gender” and “GBV” are not deemed acceptable as these are western concepts that do not align with new community values. The findings highlight the need to use conflict-sensitivity and Do No Harm principles in settings where GBV work is scrutinized. It also challenges the orthodox definition of “GBV evidence” and explores the ethical implications of the use of alternative means to collecting data. Findings also provide insight into valuable alternative methodologies that allow local and national researchers to continue studying GBV in conflict impacted areas without exposing themselves to actual or perceived risk. The paper proposes concrete approaches that can mitigate political and security risk on both researchers and GBV survivors.
