254. Effect of Ag layer thickness on optical and electrical properties of ion-beam-sputtered TiO2/Ag/TiO2 multilayer thin film.

Abstract

TiO2/Ag/TiO2 multilayer films have been deposited by Ion-beam sputtering technique with different Ag thickness. X-ray reflectivity technique with 3-layer fitting model has been used to calculate thickness, density, and roughness of the multilayer films. Gaussian fitting of XRD and Raman data is used to detect the crystalline growth of films while FTIR data confirm the presence of metal layer in the films. A phonon confinement effect originating from decrease in crystallite size is also observed with blue shift in some of the Raman active modes. Effect of Ag layer thickness on optical and electrical properties of multilayer films has been presented including a comparative study of our data with previously reported work on TiO2/Ag/TiO2 transparent conducting oxides. Transmittance of multilayer films in visible region (550 nm) has increased from 65 to 81% with increase in Ag thickness. The band gaps calculated from Tauc plot of these films follow Burstein–Moss effect. Sheet resistance has decreased from 15.41 to 5.92 Ω/□ while carrier concentration and mobility show an increasing trend from 5.94 × 1021 to 1.35 × 1022 and 6.83 to 13.72 cm2/Vs, respectively, with the increase in Ag mid-layer thickness. Abstract

In this paper the 2DEG characteristics study of InAlAs/InP based high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) structures with two different channel materials (InAlAs and InGaAs) are presented through self‐consistent solutions of Schrodinger and Poisson equations which results in energy bands, sheet charge density, electric field, sheet resistance and CV charactristics. The 2DEG (two dimensional electron gas) is created at the heterointerface of InAlAs/In(Al,Ga)As due to conduction energy band discontinuity. The 2DEG is realised by the presence of subbands at the quantum well. The subbands represent the wave function of electrons. The innovation of this work is that InAlAs and InGaAs with x = 0.75 composition can be best utilised as channel material due to low bandgaps 0.821 and 0.639 eV respectively towards improved 2DEG density, subbands, channel sheet resistance, electric field in the 2DEG and CV characteristics. The DC characteristics comprised of Id ~ Vg, Id ~ Vd, transconductance, cut‐off frequency, maximum frequency of oscillation are extracted through TCAD simulations followed by experimental validation. The InGaAs/InP based HEMT can be a potential candidate for ultra‐high‐speed microwave and millimetre wave applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Most recently, organic-inorganic semiconductor light harvester materials, have arisen as a new class of functional element and attracts the research community due to its outstanding optoelectronic properties. Organic-inorganic perovskites are solution process that is easy for the fabrication of devices at low temperature. Additionally, up to date, perovskite quantum dots have emerged as the most efficient light harvester for LEDs and display applications, with high color purity, color tunability, and photoluminescence quantum yield up to 100%. However, the presence of lead in organic-inorganic perovskites and the stability issue of perovskite materials are the significant challenges for the research community. To date, some lead substitute materials have been tried to enhance the film morphology and production of the less toxic light harvester. In this chapter, we focus on the lead substitution on B sight with homovalent cations like Sn2+, Mn2+, Cd2+, and Zn2+ cations. These lead substitutions not only reduce the toxicity of perovskite material while these dopants also enhance the optical and performance of LEDs. We also included the LEDs application of lead substituted perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) that may be useful for the environmental friendly and highly performing perovskite quantum dot LEDs (PQ-LEDs) shortly.

Abstract

A study was conducted on the role of nitric oxide (NO) in the maintenance of basal endometrial blood flow of ovariectomized rats and in the increased endometrial blood flow following administration of estradiol 17Beta. The results indicate that NO has no significant role in the regulation of endometrial blood flow after acute administration of estradiol 17Beta and that other mechanisms may be involved.

Abstract

Previous studies have shown that pretreatment with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induces arginase and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) formation in murine macrophage cells. The induction of arginase and NOS is accompanied by NO, citrulline and urea. Herein, immunoprecipitation experiments using rat aortic endothelial cells revealed that N(super G)-hydroxy-L-arginine (NOHA) and not urea is produced in association with the production of arginase and NOS. In contrast to previous results, urea is produced during the inhibition of NOS activity and is accompanied by decreased NO and NOHA production.

280. Simulation modelling of III-nitride/β-Ga2O3HEMT for emerging high-power nanoelectronics applications

Abstract

In this work, a recessed gate AlGaN/AlN/GaN HEMT (high electron mobility transistor) on β-Ga2O3substrate is proposed using a field-plate mechanism and compared with a recessed gate structure (recessed depth of 25 nm, 30 nm, and 35 nm) without field-plate. The device is optimized and analysed to obtain diminished leakage current (10−16A/mm), RON(1.27Ω-mm), PFOM (power figure of merit) (4373 MW/cm3), breakdown voltage (108 V), and excellent DC characteristics using Atlas TCAD. It is observed that the obtained results are better than those reported in recent studies. These RONand PFOM demonstrate that the suggested device structure on the preferred β-Ga2O3substrate is an excellent contender for future high-power nanoelectronics applications.
