252. Fault Diagnosis Method of Signal Equipment Based on Knowledge Graph.

Abstract

Most knowledge of signal equipment fault processing is distributed in the scattered fault analysis records such as expert experience, operation procedures, operation instructions, and etc. This is neither convenient to manage a large number of fault analysis data, nor easy for operators to inquire and learn. Thus, a method combining top-down and bottom-up modes to construct fault knowledge graph of signal equipment is proposed given the mentality and complexity of signal equipment fault analysis in train control system. Through knowledge extraction, knowledge storage and knowledge graph display, the visual display of signal equipment fault analysis corpus is realized. At the same time, a query method of signal equipment fault maintenance scheme based on Cypher language is proposed. The results show that the constructed fault knowledge graph can effectively realize the structured storage and visualization of fault data, and the proposed fault maintenance scheme query method can fulfill corresponding matching of fault profile. The construction of signal equipment knowledge graph improves the digital management level of fault data, and helps to make auxiliary decision reasoning in case of signal equipment failure. Abstract

On the basis of the world’s continuing consumption of raw materials, there was an urgent need to seek sustainable resources. Lignin, the second naturally abundant biomass, accounts for 15–35% of the cell walls of terrestrial plants and is considered waste for low-cost applications such as thermal and electricity generation. The impressive characteristics of lignin, such as its high abundance, low density, biodegradability, antioxidation, antibacterial capability, and its CO2 neutrality and enhancement, render it an ideal candidate for developing new polymer/composite materials. In past decades, considerable works have been conducted to effectively utilize waste lignin as a component in polymer matrices for the production of high-performance lignin-based polymers. This chapter is intended to provide an overview of the recent advances and challenges involving lignin-based polymers utilizing lignin macromonomer and its derived monolignols. These lignin-based polymers include phenol resins, polyurethane resins, polyester resins, epoxy resins, etc. The structural characteristics and functions of lignin-based polymers are discussed in each section. In addition, we also try to divide various lignin reinforced polymer composites into different polymer matrices, which can be separated into thermoplastics, rubber, and thermosets composites. This chapter is expected to increase the interest of researchers worldwide in lignin-based polymers and develop new ideas in this field.

265. DORN1 Is Involved in Drought Stress Tolerance through a Ca 2+ -Dependent Pathway.

Abstract

Water shortages caused by climate change seriously threaten the survival and production of plants and are also one of the major environmental pressures faced by plants. DORN1 was the first identified purinoceptor for the plant response to extracellular ATP. It has been established that DORN1 could play key roles in a series of biological activities in plants. However, the biological roles of DORN1 and the mechanism remain unclear under drought stress conditions in plants. Here, DORN1 was targeted for knockout by using the CRISPR/Cas 9 system. It was found that the loss function of DORN1 resulted in a significant decrease in the effective quantum yield of PSII [Y(II)], the photochemical quenching coefficient (qP), and the rate of photosynthetic electron transport through PSII (ETR), which reflected plants' photochemical efficiency. Whereas Y(NO) values showed obvious enhancement under drought stress conditions. Further experimental results showed that the Y(II), qP, and ETR, which reflect plants' photochemical efficiency, increased significantly with CaCl2 treatment. These results indicated that the drought tolerance of the mutant was decreased, and the exogenous application of calcium ions could effectively promote the drought tolerance of the dorn1 mutant. Transpiration loss controlled by stomata is closely related to drought tolerance, further, we examined the transpirational water loss in dorn1 and found that it was greater than wild-type (WT). Besides, the dorn1 mutant's stomatal aperture significantly increased compared with the WT and the stomata of dorn1 mutant plants tend to close after CaCl2 treatment. Taken together, our results show that DORN1 plays a key role in drought stress tolerance in plants, which may depend on calcium and calcium-related signaling pathways. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

285. The NADPH oxidase OsRbohA increases salt tolerance by modulating K+homeostasis in rice

Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativaL.) is a staple cereal for more than two thirds of the world’s population. Soil salinity severely limits rice growth, development, and grain yield. It is desirable to elucidate the mechanism of rice’s salt-stress response. As the major source of H2O2, NADPH oxidase (Rboh) is believed to be involved in salt-stress tolerance. However, the function and mechanism of rice Rboh in salt stress response remain unclear. In this study, we found that the expression of OsRbohAwas up-regulated by NaCl treatment in the shoots and roots of rice seedlings. Knockout of OsRbohAreduced the tolerance of rice to salt stress. Knockout of OsRbohAblocked NaCl-induced increases of NADPH activity and H2O2content in roots. OsRbohAknockout inhibited root growth and disrupted K+homeostasis by reducing the expression of K+transporters and channel-associated genes (OsGORK, OsAKT1, OsHAK1, and OsHAK5) in roots under NaCl treatment. Under NaCl treatment, OsRbohAknockout also reduced subcellular K+contents of the plasma membrane and soluble fraction. Overexpression of OsRbohAincreased the expression of K+transporters and channel-associated genes and reduced the loss of K+ions in roots. These results indicate that OsRbohA-mediated H2O2accumulation modulates K+homeostasis, thereby increasing salt tolerance in rice.

293. Interactions between biomass-derived components and polypropylene during wood–plastic composite pyrolysis.

Abstract

Wood–plastic composite (WPC) is a commonly used material in decking applications with good mechanical and physical properties. Due to their non-biodegradable property, WPC wastes can be converted by pyrolysis. In this study, the interactions of poplar wood components (cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin) and polypropylene (PP) during WPC pyrolysis (with or without HZSM-5 catalyst) were investigated using thermogravimetric (TGA) and Py-GC/MS analyses. TGA results showed that the decompositions of cellulose and hemicellulose were inhibited while lignin decomposition was slightly improved by PP. PP decomposition peak shifted to higher temperatures due to the thermal stabilization of biomass-derived char. The formation of carbonyl compounds and furans were inhibited, whereas the formation of anhydrosugars, cyclopentenones, and phenols were promoted in the presence of PP, indicating that PP changed the pyrolysis pathways of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin through H-transfer reactions. Biomass-derived components promoted the β-scission of PP chain and facilitated the formation of light hydrocarbons with carbon number of 3n. An increase in hydrocarbons (aromatics + olefins) demonstrated the existence of strong catalytic interactions between biomass-derived components and PP in the presence of HZSM-5 zeolite. Abstract

Background At present, the treatment of recurrent glioblastoma is extremely challenging. In this study, we used a novel three-dimensional non-coplanar template (3DNPT) combined with open MR to guide 125I seed implantation for recurrent glioblastoma. The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility, accuracy, and effectiveness of this technique. Methods Twenty-four patients of recurrent glioblastoma underwent 3DNPT with open MR-guided 125I brachytherapy from August 2017 to January 2019. Preoperative treatment plan and 3DNPT were made according to enhanced isovoxel T1-weighted MR images. 125I seeds were implanted using 3DNPT and 1.0-T open MR imaging guidance. Dosimetry verification was performed after brachytherapy based on postoperative CT/MR fusion images. Preoperative and postoperative dosimetry parameters of D90, V100, V200, conformity index (CI), external index (EI) were compared. The objective response rate (ORR) at 6 months and 1-year survival rate were calculated. Median overall survival (OS) measured from the date of brachytherapy was estimated by Kaplan-Meier method. Results There were no significant differences between preoperative and postoperative dosimetry parameters of D90, V100, V200, CI, EI (P > 0.05). The ORR at 6 months was 75.0%. The 1-year survival rate was 58.3%. Median OS was 12.9 months. One case of small amount of epidural hemorrhage occurred during the procedure. There were 3 cases of symptomatic brain edema after brachytherapy treatment, including grade three toxicity in 1 case and grade two toxicity in 2 cases. The three patients were treated with corticosteroid for 2 to 4 weeks. The clinical symptoms related to brain edema were significantly alleviated thereafter. Conclusions 3DNPT combined with open MR-guided 125I brachytherapy for circumscribed recurrent glioblastoma is feasible, effective, and with low risk of complications. Postoperative dosimetry matched the preoperative treatment plan. The described method can be used as a novel implantation technique for 125I brachytherapy in the treatment of recurrent gliomas. Abstract

Optimization models involving quaternion matrices are widely used in color image process and other engineering areas. These models optimize real functions of quaternion matrix variables. In particular, $\ell_0$-norms and rank functions of quaternion matrices are discrete. Yet calculus with derivatives, subdifferentials and generalized subdifferentials of such real functions is needed to handle such models. In this paper, we introduce first and second order derivatives and establish their calculation rules for such real functions. Our approach is consistent with the subgradient concept for norms of quaternion matrix variables, recently introduced in the literature. We develop the concepts of generalized subdifferentials of proper functions of quaternion matrices, and use them to analyze the optimality conditions of a sparse low rank color image denoising model. We introduce R-product for two quaternion matrix vectors, as a key tool for our calculus. We show that the real representation set of low-rank quaternion matrices is closed and semi-algebraic. We also establish first order and second order optimality conditions for constrained optimization problems of real functions in quaternion matrix variables.
