Abstract

Abstract Background and Aim The aim of this study was to assess the quality and content of videos on Douyin and TikTok for their educational role on early screening of rectal cancer (RC). Methods We conducted a search for videos related to RC on the Douyin and TikTok applications on 20 April 2023. The search was conducted in Chinese on Douyin and in English and Japanese on TikTok. A sample of the first 100 videos recommended by the software was selected for each language group. The content of the videos was evaluated using a content scorecard, while the quality of the videos was assessed using DISCERN. Subsequently, we conducted two partial correlations: one between the DISCERN score and the number of likes, and another between the video content score and the number of likes. Results This study encompassed a total of 89 Chinese, 54 English, and 51 Japanese videos. After selection, 78 Chinese, 38 English, and 25 Japanese videos were identified to contain content related to early screening for RC, prompting further quality assessment. Notably, videos in the Chinese language showed the highest DISCERN score (P 0.05). Conclusion In terms of quality score and content score, the Chinese videos on Douyin show superiority over the English and Japanese videos on TikTok. However, there is potential for improving the overall appeal of the Chinese videos.

295. Hyperuricemia remission after colorectal cancer surgery for colorectal cancer patients

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate whether patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) combined with hyperuricemia remitted 1 year after CRC surgery. CRC patients combined with hyperuricemia who underwent radical surgery were included from a single clinical center from Jan 2016 to Dec 2021. Baseline characteristics was compared between the remission group and the non-remission group. Multivariate logistic regression was used to find the possible predictive factors of hyperuricemia remission. A total of 91 patients were included for data analysis, retrospectively. There were 34 (37.4%) patients in the remission group and 57 (62.6%) patients in the non-remission group. The mean preoperative weight and body mass index (BMI) were 61.2 ± 10.7 (kg) and 24.1 ± 3.3 (kg/m2). 21 (23.1%) patients had a history of drinking. We found that the weight and BMI were not significantly different before and 1 year after CRC surgery (P > 0.05). In contrast, uric acid values were significantly decreased (P 0.05). According to multivariate logistic regression, we found that the history of drinking was a predictive factor of hyperuricemia remission (OR = 0.046, 95% CI 0.005–0.475, P = 0.010). CRC patients with hyperuricemia had a 37.4% remission from hyperuricemia 1 year after CRC surgery. Tumor location, tumor stage, and tumor size did not predict the remission of hyperuricemia. Notably, the history of drinking was a predictive factor of hyperuricemia remission.

296. Gevrey well-posedness of the hyperbolic Prandtl equations

Abstract

We study the 2D and 3D Prandtl equations of degenerate hyperbolic type, and establish without any structural assumption the Gevrey well-posedness with Gevrey index $\leq 2$. Compared with the classical parabolic Prandtl equations, the loss of the derivatives, caused by the hyperbolic feature coupled with the degeneracy, can't be overcame by virtue of the classical cancellation mechanism that developed for the parabolic counterpart. Inspired by the abstract Cauchy-Kowalewski theorem and by virtue of the hyperbolic feature, we give in this text a straightforward proof, basing on an elementary $L^2$ energy estimate. In particular our argument does not involve the cancellation mechanism used efficiently for the classical Prandtl equations.

Abstract

In 2022 China Space Station (CSS) will be equipped with atomic clocks and optical clocks with stabilities of $2 \times 10^{-16}$ and $8 \times 10^{-18}$, respectively, which provides an excellent opportunity to test gravitational redshift (GR) with higher accuracy than previous results. Based on high-precise frequency links between CSS and a ground station, we formulated a model and provided simulation experiments to test GR. Simulation results suggest that this method could test the GR at the accuracy level of $(0.27 \pm 2.15) \times10^{-7}$, more than two orders in magnitude higher than the result of the experiment of a hydrogen clock on board a flying rocket more than 40 years ago., Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures

Abstract

The label-embedded dictionary learning (DL) algorithms generate influential dictionaries by introducing discriminative information. However, there exists a limitation: All the label-embedded DL methods rely on the labels due that this way merely achieves ideal performances in supervised learning. While in semi-supervised and unsupervised learning, it is no longer sufficient to be effective. Inspired by the concept of self-supervised learning (e.g., setting the pretext task to generate a universal model for the downstream task), we propose a Self-Supervised Dictionary Learning (SSDL) framework to address this challenge. Specifically, we first design a $p$-Laplacian Attention Hypergraph Learning (pAHL) block as the pretext task to generate pseudo soft labels for DL. Then, we adopt the pseudo labels to train a dictionary from a primary label-embedded DL method. We evaluate our SSDL on two human activity recognition datasets. Abstract

In this work, we extend the recently established system-bath entanglement theorem (SBET) [J. Chem. Phys. 152, 034102 (2020)] to the nonequilibrium scenario, in which an arbitrary system couples to multiple Gaussian baths environments at different temperatures. While the existing SBET connects the entangled system-bath response functions to those of local systems, the extended theory is concerned with the nonequilibrium steady-state quantum transport current through molecular junctions. Abstract

Nanothermodynamics is the thermodynamics of small systems, which are signifcantly affected by their surrounding environments. In nanothermodynamics, Hill introduced the concept of subdivision potential, which charaterizes the non-extensiveness. In this work, we establish the quantum thermodynamic integration of the subdivision potential, which is identifed to be proportional to the difference between the thermal and von Neumann entropies, focusing on its temperature-dependence.
