Objectives: To enhance diagnosis of gastrointestinal neuroendocrine carcinomas using CT and contrast-enhanced CT images. Methods: A total of 44 patients with gastrointestinal neuroendocrine carcinomas, as confirmed by clinical pathology and immunohistochemistry in the Sixth Affiliated People's Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Shanghai China, were included in the study. CT and enhanced CT scanning were performed, and the resulting images were reviewed and analyzed. Results: Twenty-seven males and 17 females were enrolled. Gastrointestinal involvement included the following: 5 cases located in the middle or inferior segment of the esophagus; 5 in the gastric cardia, 15 in the body of stomach, 6 located in the gastric antrum; 5 located in the Vater papilla of the duodenum; and 8 located in the colon. Among the 44 cases 80%-90% of the lesions had homogeneous density. Totally 81.8% (36/44) cases demonstrated homogeneous enhancement in arterial phases, most of the cases (n = 33) moderately or obviously enhanced. Only 17.2% (8/44) cases appeared as heterogeneous enhancement. And 86.4% cases (n = 38) were further enhanced in the venous phase. The CT images also revealed some of the metastases. Some liver metastasis cases have obvious homogeneous enhancement. Conclusions: CT and enhanced CT provide useful information regarding gastrointestinal neuroendocrine carcinomas' location, density, enhancement pattern, and some metastasis. Preparing measures of guided missile weapon in the course of storage and the influence on storage life are summarized and analyzed, such as replacing at scheduled time, set up spare parts, and refit. Aim at avoiding the limitation of two storage life evaluation methods which is used in practice widely, a new storage life evaluation method for guided missile is proposed based on storage, including refit opportunity and content decided method, spare parts setup method, reliability of apparatus on guided missile and technique prepare measures in the course of storage and application. The phosphors Ba3Gd(BO3)3:Ce3+ were prepared by a solid-state reaction technique at high temperature. The vacuum ultraviolet-ultraviolet and visible spectroscopic properties of the phosphors together with decay time curves are investigated and discussed. The spectroscopic properties are explained by occupancy of Ce3+ at two different Gd sites in the host lattice. The x-ray excited emission spectra of Ba3Gd(BO3)3:Ce3+ were studied and the number of photons emitted per unit of absorbed x-ray energy was calculated. The yield is rather poor and Ba3Gd(BO3)3:Ce3+ appears not a suitable x-ray phosphor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: The phosphor of YBO3: Sb3+ was synthesized by solid state reaction. Its crystal structure was examined by using X-ray diffraction analysis. The morphology and particle size were characterized with a scanning electron microscopy. The properties of YBO3: Sb3+ luminescence was systematically studied by exciting borate host, the 1P1 and 3P1 levels of Sb3+ at the Ci and C 1 sites with 168, 203, 218, 252 and 262nm, respectively, measured on the synchrotron radiation instruments. The different configurations of emission spectra excited with variant wavelengths show the character of wavelength-selective excitation, which was attributed to different occupations of the Sb3+ site in the YBO3 crystal lattice. Moreover, strong electron–lattice interaction (i.e., the Jahn–Teller effect) between Sb3+ and YBO3 host was discriminated by comparing low temperature and room temperature spectra. The site-selective luminescence was confirmed by YBO3 activated with multiple Sb3+ concentrations. The spectral assignment was verified with fluorescence lifetime achieved by using the Time-Correlated Single-Photon Counting method. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The VUV excited luminescent properties of Ce3+, Tb3+, Eu3+ and Tm3+ in the matrices of KMGd(PO4)2 (M=Ca, Sr) were investigated. The bands at about 165nm and 155nm in the VUV excitation spectra are attributed to host lattice absorptions of the two matrices. For Ce3+-doped samples, the Ce3+ 5d levels can be identified. As for Tb3+-doped samples, typical 4f–5d absorption bands in the region of 175–250nm were observed. For Eu3+ and Tm3+-doped samples, the O2−–Eu3+ and O2–Tm3+ CTBs are observed to be at about 229nm and 177nm, respectively. From the standpoints of color purity and luminescent efficiency, KCaGd(PO4)2:Tb3+ is an attractive candidate of green light PDP phosphor. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: A new structural type of rare earth metaphosphate, Lu(PO3)3, was prepared from high-temperature solution, of which the crystal structure was solved in S.G. of Cc (No.9) and Z =4 with unit cell dimensions of a =13.972(3)Å, b =6.6710(13)Å, c =9.958(2) Å and β =127.36(3)°. In Lu(PO3)3, [LuO6] octahedra connect with the non-bridging oxygens on (PO3) n infinite zigzag chains that extended along c-axis. The VUV and X-ray excited luminescent properties of undoped and Ln3+ (Ln=Ce, Eu, Tb) doped samples were examined, from which the optical band gap was estimated to be 8.3eV. Besides, in the undoped sample a STE emission within 320–480nm was observed, which probably be related to oxygen defects. However, in the Lu(PO3)3:Ce sample the Ce3+ emission was weak and STE emission was totally quenched under hard X-ray excitation. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: AGdP2O7 (A=Rb, Cs) diphosphates were obtained through solid state reactions. Besides the monoclinic β-RbGdP2O7 and CsGdP2O7, the high temperature phase of RbGdP2O7, α-RbGdP2O7, was reported for the first time, which is isostructural with α-KYP2O7 (S.G. Cmcm, Z =4), and the unit cell volume of α-phase is 5.4% smaller than that of β-phase. However, no reverse α↔β polymorphic transition was observed. The VUV-UV and X-ray excited spectroscopic properties of undoped and Ln3+ (Ln=Ce, Eu, Tb) doped AGdP2O7 (A=Rb, Cs) were presented. Under X-ray excitation, strong cascade emission of Gd3+ was observed in each undoped AGdP2O7 samples. The Gd–Ln energy transfer is relatively weak, which is due to the large Gd–Gd distance. The energy transfer probability among Gd3+ ions follows a sequence of CsGdP2O7 <β-RbGdP2O7 <α-RbGdP2O7, which is inversely proportional with the Gd–Gd distance. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: A new efficient blue phosphor, Eu2+ activated SrZnP2O7, has been synthesized at 1000°C under reduced atmosphere and the crystal structure and photoluminescence properties have been investigated. The crystal structure of SrZnP2O7 was obtained via Rietveld refinement of powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern. It was found that SrZnP2O7 crystallizes in space group of P21/n (no. 14), Z=4, and the unit cell dimensions are: a=5.30906(2)Å, b=8.21392(3)Å, c=12.73595(5)Å, β=90.1573(3)°, and V=555.390(3)Å3. Under ultraviolet excitation (200–400nm), efficient Eu2+ emission peaked at 420nm was observed, of which the luminescent efficiency at the optimal concentration of Eu2+ (4mol%) was estimated to be 96% as that of BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+. Hence, the SrZnP2O7:Eu2+ exhibit great potential as a phosphor in different applications, such as ultraviolet light emitting diode and photo-therapy lamps. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: NaLaP2O7 and NaGdP2O7 powder samples are prepared by solid-state reactions at 750 and 600°C, respectively, and the VUV-excited luminescence properties of Ln3+ (Ln=Ce, Pr, Tb, Tm, Eu) in both diphosphates are studied. Ln3+ ions in both hosts show analogous luminescence. For Ce3+-doped samples, the five Ce3+ 5d levels can be clearly identified. As for Pr3+ and Tb3+-doped samples, strong 4f–5d absorption band around 172nm is observed, which matches well with Xe–He excimer in plasma display panel (PDP) devices. As a result, Pr3+ can be utilized as sensitizer to absorb 172nm VUV photon and transfer energy to appropriate activators, and Tb3+-doped NaREP2O7(RE=La, Gd) are potential 172nm excited green PDP phosphors. For Tm3+ and Eu3+-doped samples, the Tm3+–O2− charge transfer band (CTB) is observed to be at 177nm, but the CTB of Eu3+ is observed at abnormally low energy position, which might originate from multi-position of Eu3+ ions. The similarity in luminescence properties of Ln3+ in both hosts indicates certain structural resemblance of coordination environment of Ln3+ in the two sodium rare earth diphosphates. Abstract: Spectroscopic properties of Ce3+ and Pr3+-doped AREP2O7-type alkali rare earth diphosphates (A=Na, K, Rb, Cs; RE=Y, Lu) have been investigated using VUV spectroscopy technique. Ce3+-doped samples show typical Ce3+ emission in the range of 325–450nm. The strong host absorption band starting at around 160nm indicates that the optical band gap of AREP2O7 hosts is at least 7.7eV, and the host→Ce3+ energy transfer process is rather efficient. However, AREP2O7:Pr3+ samples show less efficient host→Pr3+ energy transfer. The direct Pr3+ 4f2→4f15d1 excitation, which are 12160±640cm−1 higher respect to that of Ce3+, leads to strong 4f15d1→4f2 emission bands in the range of 230–325nm but no obvious 4f2→4f2 emission lines. Abstract: Novel phosphors of Ce3+, Tb3+, Sm3+ or Gd3+ doped Ba3BP3O12 were synthesized by the solid-state reaction method and their VUV–UV spectroscopic properties were investigated. The bands at about 165nm in the VUV excitation spectra are attributed to the host lattice absorptions. The bands at about 216, 238, 269, 282, and 294nm for the sample of Ba3BP3O12: Ce3+ are connected with the f–d transitions of the Ce3+ ion, the strong band at 220nm and weak band at 260nm for the sample of Ba3BP3O12: Tb3+ are assumed to be the lowest spin-allowed and spin-forbidden f–d transitions of Tb3+ ion, the bands at about 187 and 166nm for the sample of Ba3BP3O12: Sm3+ have been considered as related to the charge transfer and the f–d transition of Sm3+, and the band at 146nm for the sample of Ba3BP3O12: Gd3+ is assumed to be connected with charge transfer of the Gd3+ ion. Cancer is a disease with molecular heterogeneity that is closely related to gene mutations and epigenetic changes. The principal histological subtype of lung cancer is non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) is a kind of RNA that is without protein coding function, playing a critical role in the progression of cancer. In this research, the regulatory mechanisms of lncRNA phosphorylase kinase regulatory subunit alpha 1 antisense RNA 1 (PHKA1-AS1) in the progression of NSCLC were explored. The increased level of N6-methyladenosine (m 6 A) modification in NSCLC caused the high expression of PHKA1-AS1. Subsequently, high-expressed PHKA1-AS1 significantly facilitated the proliferation and metastasis of NSCLC cells, and these effects could be reversed upon the inhibition of PHKA1-AS1 expression, both in vivo and in vitro. Additionally, the target protein of PHKA1-AS1 was actinin alpha 4 (ACTN4), which is known as an oncogene. Herein, PHKA1-AS1 could enhance the protein stability of ACTN4 by inhibiting its ubiquitination degradation process, thus exerting the function of ACTN4 in promoting the progress of NSCLC. Objective: Despite the controversy surrounding brain invasion (BI) as the sole indicator used to diagnose atypical meningioma, this criterion was still incorporated in the 2021 WHO classification scheme. In this study, the authors investigated the reproducibility of this prognostic effect and the impact of BI on the prognosis in otherwise benign meningioma (benign meningioma with BI)., Methods: Patients (n = 1006) with a pathological diagnosis of benign or atypical meningioma according to the latest WHO classification criteria were enrolled in this study. In patients with atypical meningioma, the cases were further categorized as benign meningioma with BI and classical atypical meningioma. Clinical, pathological, and follow-up data were collected. Kaplan-Meier curves were compared with a log-rank test, and univariate and multivariate analyses were performed., Results: The study patient cohort included 282 (28.0%) individuals who were pathologically confirmed as having BI among all 1006 patients with benign or atypical meningioma. A significant difference in recurrence-free survival was observed between patients who had benign meningioma with BI and those who had classical atypical meningioma (p < 0.001), as well as between patients with benign meningiomas and those without BI (p = 0.003). Multivariate Cox analysis indicated that BI was independently associated with increased risk of relapse in the entire population (HR 1.46, 95% CI 1.01-2.12, p = 0.049) and in the atypical meningioma subcohort (HR 2.21, 95% CI 1.32-3.71, p = 0.003), as well as the benign meningioma with and without BI subcohorts (HR 1.89, 95% CI 1.01-3.56, p = 0.049). Moreover, patients with classical atypical meningiomas had a risk of relapse four times higher than those who had benign meningioma with BI (p < 0.001)., Conclusions: The findings demonstrate that benign meningioma with BI typically has an intermediate prognosis and can be differentiated from benign meningioma and classical atypical meningioma, which suggests that the importance of the diagnostic effect of BI is insufficiently accounted for in grading of atypical meningioma. Increased emphasis on the presence of BI in patients with atypical meningioma may be helpful in postsurgical decision-making and facilitating improvements in individual therapy.

A field experiment was conducted to study the effects of different nitrogen forms ((NH2)2CO-N, NO(3-)-N, NH(4+)-N, and NO(3-)-NH4+) and their ratios on the yield formation, quality, and nutrient (N, P, and K) absorption of broccoli (Brassica oleracea). Fertilization with NO(3-)-N increased the accumulation of nitrate and soluble sugars in ball flower. When the NO(3-)-N: NH(4+)-N ratio was ranged from 3:7 to 5:5 and from 5:5 to 7:3, respectively, the accumulation of nitrate in the ball flower was reduced, while the soluble sugars content was promoted. Fertilization with (NH2)2CO-N and NH(4+)-N was conducive to the improvement of Vc content in the ball flower. N fertilization increased the accumulation of N, P, and K in plants, with the highest contents of N, P, and K observed at rosette stage. Throughout the entire growth period, NH(4+)-N fertilization improved the plant N content, whereas NO(3-)-N fertilization improved the plant K content. At different growth stages, the effects of different N sources on plant P content varied. As compared with applying single N forms, the NO(3-)-N:NH(4+)-N ratio ranged from 3:7 to 5:5 could improve the yield significantly. It was suggested that a combined application of NO(3-)-N and NH(4+)-N with an appropriate ratio could improve the productivity, quality, and economic return of broccoli.

Objective: To investigate the expression of RRM1 and ERCC1 genes in tumor tissues and peripheral blood lymphocytes of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)., Methods: Tissue and peripheral blood samples were collected from 49 advanced NSCLC patients treated with gemcitabine plus carboplatin. The expressions of RRM1 and ERCC1 mRNA in tumor tissue and peripheral lymphocytes were detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR. The relationship of gene expression with clinical characteristics,chemotherapy response and prognosis was analyzed., Results: The RRM1 expression in tumor tissues was positively correlated with that in peripheral blood lymphocytes,while no significant correlation was observed between ERCC1 expression in tumor tissues and that in peripheral blood (rs=0.332 and 0.258; P=0.020 and 0.073, respectively). The expression of RRM1 and ERCC1 in tumor tissues peripheral lymphocytes was synchronous (rs=0.634 and 0.351; P<0.001 and 0.013, respectively). There was no significant correlation of gene expression with gender, age, smoking status, performance status, clinical stages and histological types of patients (P>0.05). Significant difference was found in response rate to chemotherapy (P<0.05,P<0.01,P<0.05),median survival time (P<0.05,P<0.01,P<0.05) and 1-year survival rate (P<0.01,<0.05,P<0.05) between patients with low RRM1 and ERCC1 expression levels in tumor tissues or low RRM1 expression levels in peripheral blood and those with high RRM1 and ERCC1 expression levels. The patients with low ERCC1 expression levels in tumor tissues gained higher 2-year survival rate (P<0.05). There was no correlation of the expression of ERCC1 in peripheral blood with the response to chemotherapy and prognosis (P>0.05)., Conclusion: The expression of RRMI and ERCC1 genes in tumor tissues and RRM1 in peripheral blood lymphocytes is closely correlated with the response to chemotherapy and prognosis of patients with advanced NSCLC treated with gemcitabine plus carboplatin.

The phosphors of Tb3+ activated Sr2 Mg(B03)2 were prepared by high temperature solid-state reaction technique. The phase purity was characterized by the powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). The luminescence properties in VUV-Vis range as well as the decay curves were investigated. The results demonstrate that the band near 178 nm in the VUTV excitation spectra is ascribed to the host-related absorption. The bands of lowest spin-allowed and spin-forbidden f--d transition are located at 235 and 278 nm, respectively. The strongest emission is at 543 nm upon 172 nm excitation and with the color coordinate (0.30, 0.45). The decay time is about 2.8 ms.

The green emitting phosphor, Gd2Ba3B3O12:Tb3+ was synthesized with the method of high-temperature solid-state reaction. The phase structure and photoluminescence (PL) properties of the samples were characterized by The X-ray diffraction (XRD), vacuum ultraviolet spectrum and ultraviolet spectrum (VUV-UV). The results indicate that Tb3+ ion acting as the luminescent center inhabited the site of Gd3+ ion in the host of Gd2Ba3B3O12. The VUV-UV excitation spectrum consists of the two strong broad bands at about 160-200 and 200-250 nm and sharp lines at about 260-280 and 300-320 nm. The two strong broad bands were assigned to the host absorption and f--d transition of Tb3+. The sharp lines were ascribed to the f--f transition of Tb3+ and Gd3+. All the samples of Gd2Ba3B3O12:Tb3+ exhibit strong green emission corresponding to (5)D4-->(7)F5 transition (543 nm) of Tb3+ under VUV-UV light excitation. Under 172 nm excitation, 15 mol% Tb3+ doped Gd2Ba3B3O12 sample exhibits strong green emission with good color purity (x = 0.3136, y = 0.4843) and a fitted a decay time r around 2.98 ms. It can be concluded that this series of phosphors Gd2Ba3B3O12:Tb3+ is a promising green vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) phosphor for plasma display panels (PDPs) and Hg-free fluorescent tubes application.

Objective: To study the biological characteristics of Dorysthenes hydropicus in the farm of Cirtus grandis, and offer scientific evidence for prevention and controlling of D. hydropicus., Method: Indoor-rearing and light trap were applied to study the biological characteristics, development course and harmful effect of D. hydropicus., Result: D. hydropicus reproduces one generation in 1-2 year in Guangdong province, and overwinters in the form of larvae. Its imago comes out of the earth mainly in late May after mature. The body length has great individual diversity normally ranged from 25-60 cm, It also shows strong phototaxy. One lamp can trap more than 2 000 of them per night. Female imago has a large egg load with the maximum amount of 543. The eggs hatching is in depth of 1-3 cm soil. The dominant hatching period of egg is from late June to early July, and hatchability is over 85%. The living space of larva ranges from 15-60 cm in soil. D. hydropicus has caused serious harm and lead to thousands of Cirtus grandis trees death every year., Conclusion: Dorysthenes hydropicus showed serious threat to the growth of Cirtus grandis and should be prevented and controlled.

Objective: To study the changes of extracellular glucose (Glu), lactate (Lac), and the ratio of lactate/pyruvate (L/P) in patients with traumatic brain injury under different body temperatures., Methods: Catheters for microdialysis were punctured into the penumbra zone of injured brain tissue (INJ), relatively normal brain tissue (NOR), and abdominal subcutaneous tissue (ABD) respectively in 51 patients to collect the fluid. The perfusion rate was 0.3 microl/min and one tube of fluid was collected for each hour. The average collection time was (67.10 +/- 18.27) hours. Concentrations of Glu, Lac, and pyruvate (Pyru) in the fluid were analyzed using CMA microdialysis analyzer. Patients were divided into 7 groups according to their rectal temperature (RT) values, which were RT < 33.0 degrees C, 33.0-33.9 degrees C, 34.0-34.9 degrees C, 35.0-35.9 degrees C, 36.0-36.9 degrees C, 37.0-37.9 degrees C, and > or = 38.0 degrees C., Results: The concentration of Glu in ABD was significantly higher than that in the brain tissue (P < 0.05). The Glu in NOR were significantly higher and the highest in 33.0 degrees C compared with that in the INJ when RT < 36.0 degrees C (P < 0.05). The concentration of Lac in ABD was significantly lower than that in brain (P < 0.05). The Lac in NOR were much higher than that in INJ when RT < 35.0 degrees C or > or = 37.0 degrees C (P < 0.05). The ratio of L/P decreased along with the increase of body temperature (P < 0.001). The ratio of L/P significantly decreased in an order of INJ > ABD > NOR when RT was lower than 33.0 degrees C, which was changed to the order of NOR > INJ > ABD when RT was higher than 34.0 degrees C., Conclusion: Treatment of hypothermia may play more protective role when RT were between 33-34 degrees C or 36-37 degrees C.

Aim: To observe the effects of acute hypoxia and adenosine on splenic T lymphocyte proliferation., Methods: Wistar rats were divided into control and hypoxic group, and the latter were exposed to hypoxia (5000 m simulated high altitude, 23 h/d). Three days later, spleen cells were collected and stimulated by 5.0 microg/ml and 2.5 microg/ml concanavalin A (ConA) to determine the splenocyte proliferation. The proliferation was also observed after addition of different amount of adenosine to culture medium., Results: Acute hypoxia and adenosine had marked inhibitory effect on mitogenic response to Con A in splenic T cells, and the inhibitory effect induced by adenosine displayed concentration-dependent., Conclusion: Acute hypoxia may impair the T cell function and adenosine could be involved in this process.

Aim: To explore the effects of hypoxia on expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) mRNA in cultured rat astrocytes., Methods: Cultured rat astrocytes were randomly divided into 4 groups: glutamate group (G), hypoxic group (H), hypoxia + glutamate group (H + G) and the control (C). Cells of control group were exposed to normoxic (95% air, 5% CO2) condition, and cells of G and H + G were incubated with 100 micromol/L L-glutamate, cells of H and H + G exposed to hypoxic conditions (5% CO2, 95% N2) at 37 degrees C. Each group had five timepoints which included 0 h, 3 h, 6 h, 12 h, 24 h, respectively. Expression of mRNAs of iNOS were detected with reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)., Results: Expression of iNOS mRNA was not detectable in G and C, while it increased dramatically and continuously from 6 h to 24 h in H and G + H. Expression of iNOS mRNA was significantly higher in H than both in G and C at 6 h, 12 h and 24 h, and expression of iNOS mRNA was the highest of all groups in G + H., Conclusion: Hypoxia upregulates the expression of iNOS mRNA in cultured astrocytes. Glutamate does not induce the expression of iNOS mRNA but enhance the effect of hypoxia, which is maybe one of the adaptive mechanisms of hypoxia-induced cerebral dilation.
