The current study aims to understand the antecedent of leadership emergence from an event perspective. Drawing on event system theory and leadership literature, we examine the unique role of extracurricular activity event strength in predicting leadership self-efficacy and leadership emergence with the data from 300 undergraduates in China. Our results based on two time-lagged survey studies indicate that extracurricular activity event disruption and criticality are positively (but novelty is negatively) related to leadership self-efficacy, which in turn is positively related to leadership emergence. Moreover, leader position intensifies the effects of extracurricular activity event disruption and criticality (but not novelty) on leadership self-efficacy. Abstract Intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury is a typical pathological course in the clinic with a high morbidity rate. Recent research has pointed out the critical role of ubiquitination during the occurrence and development of intestinal I/R by precisely mediating protein quality control and function. Here, we conducted an integrated multiomic analysis to identify critical ubiquitination-associated molecules in intestinal I/R and identified endoplasmic reticulum-located HRD1 as a candidate molecule. During intestinal I/R, excessive ER stress plays a central role by causing apoptotic pathway activation. In particular, we found that ER stress-mediated apoptosis was mitigated by HRD1 knockdown in intestinal I/R mice. Mechanistically, TMEM2 was identified as a new substrate of HRD1 in intestinal I/R by mass spectrometry analysis, which has a crucial role in attenuating apoptosis and promoting non-canonical ER stress resistance. A strong negative correlation was found between the protein levels of HRD1 and TMEM2 in human intestinal ischemia samples. Specifically, HRD1 interacted with the lysine 42 residue of TMEM2 and reduced its stabilization by K48-linked polyubiquitination. Furthermore, KEGG pathway analysis revealed that TMEM2 regulated ER stress-mediated apoptosis in association with the PI3k/Akt signaling pathway rather than canonical ER stress pathways. In summary, HRD1 regulates ER stress-mediated apoptosis through a non-canonical pathway by ubiquitinating TMEM2 and inhibiting PI3k/Akt activation during intestinal I/R. The current study shows that HRD1 is an intestinal I/R critical regulator and that targeting the HRD1/TMEM2 axis may be a promising therapeutic approach.

Abstract Automatic profiled fibre recognition and analysis can accelerate quality inspection and contributes to the upgrade of the textile industry. However, these tasks often require significant manual effort to generate instance‐level annotations for fully supervised training. In this paper, the authors propose a weakly supervised pipeline for profiled fibre inspection using electron‐microscopic (EM) images with only image‐level annotations. It automatically identifies fibre instances and estimates shape factors to facilitate fibre quality inspection. As the core of the pipeline, the weakly supervised network (WesNet) is designed to localize hundreds of crowded fibre samples by raw patch generation and fibre sample sifting. Particularly, the composite similarity measurement integrates different patch‐wise similarities, enabling the network to distinguish fibre from background robustly. For quality inspection, the pipeline further analyzes the fibre instances, utilizing several efficient techniques to estimate the shape factors. Experiments on the real fibre electron‐microscopic images demonstrate the efficacy and efficiency of the pipeline. Results show that WesNet outperforms several supervised and weakly supervised methods, including two state‐of‐the‐art weakly supervised networks.

Radar signal sorting is a crucial step in radar signal processing, and its accuracy directly affects the progress of electronic warfare. Numerous machine learning algorithms, such as K-Means and density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN), have been applied to radar signal sorting. However, these algorithms were not enough suitable for radar pulse data with overlapping in space and required prior information about the number of radar signal sources. This paper proposed an adaptive radar signal sorting algorithm based on DBSCAN. Inspired by the density peak clustering algorithm’s idea, we integrated it into Davies-Bouldin index (DBI) and then proposed a novel cluster validity index (CVI) density peaks Davies-Bouldin index (DPDBI) at the same time. The algorithm used the kernel density estimation method to determine the DBSCAN algorithm parameter range and obtained the optimal parameters to complete clustering based on the DPDBI calculation results. The algorithm could determine the clustering cluster number and complete clustering without any parameter input or overlapping signal parameters. Experiments were conducted on radar signal datasets, real datasets, and synthetic datasets to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed cluster validity index DPDBI. The clustering results obtained from experiments on radar signal datasets have an average accuracy of over 95%, which was higher than the current existing algorithms, demonstrating the effectiveness and superiority of the new algorithm DPDBI-DBSCAN.

In the era of evidence-based medicine, it is necessary to explore the unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) based on standardized technical methods and operating procedures in order to achieve the modernization and internationalization of TCM and benefit all humanity. The proposal of a three-pronged evidence system combining TCM theory, human experience and experimental evidence marks an important progress in the thinking method of the TCM evaluation system. The multi-evidence body integrated through appropriate methods provides a strong support for the clinical guideline recommendations and evidence-based health decision-making in TCM. Based on the current methodological progress of international evidence synthesis and grading, this paper proposes a novel approach for integrating multi-evidence in TCM: the MERGE framework. The aim is to establish a solid foundation for the development of this methodology and provide guidance for the advancement of evidence-based medicine framework in TCM.

With the increasing penetration rate of renewable energy, the inertia of the power grid gradually decreases, and the transient support capacity is seriously insufficient. It brings a series of security problems to the power grid. A distributed grid-connected topology cascaded by energy storage and open-winding permanent magnet synchronous generator (OW-PMSG) is proposed in this paper. By the topology, the renewable energy can be consumed. At the same time, the diesel engines can provide power backup and inertia support. By modelling the OW-PMSG and analyzing the power flow vector, a power transfer strategy based on the source-grid phase closed-loop control is designed to achieve stable synchronous operation of the generator. Based on this strategy, the energy storage converter can have synchronous generator characteristics, which achieves further improvement of grid inertia and transient support capability. The simulation results verify the feasibility of the proposed control strategy.

【Objective】 Environmental contamination by heavy metals is ubiquitous in many ecosystems. In this paper, we assess heavy metal pollution in sediments of the irrigation canals in the Xiangjiang River basin, as well as their ecological risks. 【Method】 Taking Lei Shui region, an important tributary of the Xiangjiang River, as an example, we analyzed the total contents of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn, as well as their water-soluble forms in sediments of the irrigation canals. The geo-accumulation index method and ecological risk coefficient/index method were used to evaluate sediment contamination and its ecological risk. Correlation analysis and principal component analysis were used to elucidate the origin of the heavy metals found in the sediments. 【Result】 The sediments in the irrigation canals in the studied region were severely polluted, with a particularly notable concentration of Cd contamination. The total content of heavy metals in the sediments was 6.4 times the background value, predominantly caused by anthropogenic activities. Ecological risk in the area is hence high, especially the risk of Cd followed by As. The accumulation of As-Cd-Zn and Pb-Cu in the sediments was due to industrial and mining activities, respectively, while Ni, Cr and accumulation of As-Cd-Zn and Pb-Cu was caused by both industrial and mining activities. Ni and Cr in the sediments were naturally originated. 【Conclusion】 The sediments in the irrigation canals in the studied region were severely polluted, with Cd content pronouncedly high exceeding the geological background level by 6.4-fold. Such contamination was predominantly caused by anthropogenic activities. In terms of the ecological risk, Cd was most significant followed by As. The accumulation of As-Cd-Zn and Pb-Cu in the sediments emanated from industrial and mining activities. In contrast, Ni and Cr are naturally originated.

Abstract Jasminum elongatum (JE), an ethnic Chinese medicine, is widely used in the Lingnan region of China, because of its analgesic and antidiarrheal action, as well as its anti-inflammatory effects in gastrointestinal diseases. However, whether JE could against ulcerative colitis (UC) remains unclear. This research aims to reveal JE in treating UC and clarify the underlying mechanism. We used the 2.5% dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced UC mice (C57BL/6J) to evaluate the therapeutic effects of JE. Metabolomics of serum and network pharmacology were combined to draw target-metabolite pathways. Apart from that, the targets of associated pathways were confirmed, and the mechanism of action was made clear, using immunohistochemistry. The pharmacodynamic results, including disease activity index (DAI), histological evaluation, and inflammatory cytokines in colon tissues, demonstrated that JE significantly relieved the physiological and pathological symptoms of UC. Network pharmacology analysis indicated 25 core targets, such as TNF, IL-6, PTGS2 and RELA, and four key pathways, including the NF-κB signaling pathway and arachidonic acid metabolism pathway, which were the key connections between JE and UC. Metabolomics analysis identified 45 endogenous differential metabolites and 9 metabolic pathways by enrichment, with the arachidonic acid metabolism pathway being the main metabolism pathway, consistent with the prediction of network pharmacology. IκB, p65 and COX-2 were identified as key targets and this study demonstrated for the first time that JE reverses 2.5% DSS-induced UC in mice via the IκB/p65/COX-2/arachidonic acid pathway. This study reveals the complex mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of JE on UC and provides a new approach to identifying the underlying mechanisms of the pharmacological action of Chinese natural medicines such as JE.

Objective To explore the clinical effect of platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP) combined with 5E rehabilitation nursing mode for patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods Totally 80 patients with knee osteoarthritis admitted to the orthopedics department of the hospital from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected as subjects. They were divided into test group and control group according to ward odd and even numbers, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with PRP injected into knee joint cavity combined with routine exercise guidance. The experimental group was treated with PRP injected into knee joint cavity combined with 5E rehabilitative nursing mode. The effect of intervention at 6 months and 12 months after treatment was observed. Results The Visual Analogue Scale of pain in the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group at 6 months and 12 months after treatment(P＜0. 01). The score of Western Ontario and McMaster Universities osteoarthritis index (WOMAC) in the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group at 6 months and 12 months after treatment(P＜0. 01). Conclusion Platelet-rich plasma therapy combined with 5E rehabilitation nursing model can effectively relieve pain and improve knee joint function in patients with knee osteoarthritis. The servo motor has the characteristics of high precision, high speed and stable operation, but it will produce large electromagnetic noise in the process of using, which will affect the user experience. Based on the ANSYS multi-physics finite element analysis platform, this paper studies the electrical noise characteristics of servo motors used in a secondary water supply equipment under different speed conditions. The time and space distribution characteristics of the radial electromagnetic force acting on the motor stator are obtained by electromagnetic field analysis and modal analysis respectively. The natural frequency of the motor structure modal mode can also be obtained from these analyses. The causes of large electromagnetic noise were analyzed from the aspects of radial electromagnetic force and structural mode, and the position distribution of large vibration on the motor is obtained by harmonic response analysis. On this basis, the sound pressure level distribution of servo electromagnetic noise at different frequencies is obtained through acoustic simulation, which has referential significance for noise prediction and shell noise reduction optimization of related servo motors.
