This paper collected forum discussions related to archives in mainland China and analyzed the topics and sentiment trends presented in archives posts in 2019-2020. This paper used the NLPIR platform to perform text preprocessing such as word segmentation, part-of-speech tagging, and word frequency statistics. Chinese sentiment vocabulary ontology is then introduced to precede the sentiment analysis. The results showed that the topics that people are most concerned about are generally divided into two types. One is the specific figures and events, the other is the social issues represented by “archival work practice” and “archives access”. In terms of sentiment analysis, the archival affairs forum showed obvious negative emotions when discussing specific people and events; and when it came to the practice of archival work, it showed positive expectations for the archival access.

Abstract Objective To establish a nomogram prediction model for posttraumatic growth (PTG) in children aged 8–18 years with malignancies in China and to convenient intuitively judge psychological tendencies. Methods We recruited 358 children aged 8–18 years with malignancies in China as the study participants. Data from 250 cases collected from June 2019 to November 2019 were used as the model group, data from 108 cases collected from December 2019 to January 2020 were used as the validation group. Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of PTG in the model group. A prediction model was then established using a nomogram. The centrality measurement index(C-index) and receiver operating characteristic curves (ROC) were used to verify the model. Results Among the 250 children in the model group, 65 children with malignancies had PTG, with an occurrence of 26%. Abstract This work rests on our non-viral tissue nanotransfection (TNT) platform to deliver MyoD (TNTMyoD) to injured tissue in vivo. TNTMyoD was performed on skin and successfully induced expression of myogenic factors. TNTMyoD was then used as a therapy 7 days following volumetric muscle loss (VML) of rat tibialis anterior and rescued muscle function. TNTMyoD is promising as VML intervention.

Abstract Background Endothelial dysfunction is common in diabetes. Apolipoprotein (apo) A-IV functions to antagonize inflammation and oxidative stress. The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between flow-mediated dilation (FMD) and serum apoA-IV level in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. Methods A total of 84 T2DM patients with chest discomfort were enrolled in this study. Their baseline characteristics and clinical parameters were documented. Endothelial function of the participants was evaluated by examining FMD of brachial artery. The severity of coronary atherosclerosis was determined by quantitative coronary angiography. Serum apoA-IV levels were measured by ELISA. Results These diabetic patients were dichotomized into low FMD (n = 42) and high FMD (n = 42) groups. The abnormal behavior of end-users is one of the main causes of abnormal line loss in distribution networks. The integration of a large amount of distributed renewable energy into a low-voltage distribution network (LVDN) complicates line loss analysis. Traceability analysis for abnormal line loss aims to identify the specific end-user responsible for the anomaly in line loss. This paper proposes, for LVDNs with incomplete topology and line parameters, a practical traceability analysis approach using a data-driven power flow model. A data-driven power flow model based on a neural network is first established to capture the power flow mapping relationship without topology and line parameter information. A backpropagation algorithm is then presented to correct the actual power consumption data according to the measured voltage data. By comparing actual power consumption data with measured power data, users with abnormal behavior can be accurately identified and tracked. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified by actual data.

Abstract Men demonstrate higher incidence and mortality rates of colorectal cancer (CRC) than women. This study aims to explain the potential causes of such sexual dimorphism in CRC from the perspective of sex‐biased gut microbiota and metabolites. The results show that sexual dimorphism in colorectal tumorigenesis is observed in both ApcMin/+ mice and azoxymethane (AOM)/dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)‐treated mice with male mice have significantly larger and more tumors, accompanied by more impaired gut barrier function. Moreover, pseudo‐germ mice receiving fecal samples from male mice or patients show more severe intestinal barrier damage and higher level of inflammation. A significant change in gut microbiota composition is found with increased pathogenic bacteria Akkermansia muciniphila and deplets probiotic Parabacteroides goldsteinii in both male mice and pseudo‐germ mice receiving fecal sample from male mice. Sex‐biased gut metabolites in pseudo‐germ mice receiving fecal sample from CRC patients or CRC mice contribute to sex dimorphism in CRC tumorigenesis through glycerophospholipids metabolism pathway. Sexual dimorphism in tumorigenesis of CRC mouse models. In conclusion, the sex‐biased gut microbiome and metabolites contribute to sexual dimorphism in CRC. Modulating sex‐biased gut microbiota and metabolites could be a potential sex‐targeting therapeutic strategy of CRC.

Summary: Fetal skin achieves scarless wound repair. Dermal fibroblasts play a central role in extracellular matrix deposition and scarring outcomes. Both fetal and gingival wound repair share minimal scarring outcomes. We tested the hypothesis that compared to adult skin fibroblasts, human fetal skin fibroblast diversity is unique and partly overlaps with gingival skin fibroblasts. Human fetal skin (FS, n = 3), gingiva (HGG, n = 13), and mature skin (MS, n = 13) were compared at single-cell resolution. Dermal fibroblasts, the most abundant cluster, were examined to establish a connectome with other skin cells. Annexin1-FPR1 signaling pathway was dominant in both FS as well as HGG fibroblasts and related myeloid cells while scanty in MS fibroblasts. Myeloid-specific FPR1-ORF delivered in murine wound edge using tissue nanotransfection (TNT) technology significantly enhanced the quality of healing. Pseudotime analyses identified the co-existence of an HGG fibroblast subset with FPR1high myeloid cells of fetal origin indicating common underlying biological processes.

Summary: Certain types of face masks are highly efficient in protecting humans from bacterial and viral pathogens, and growing concerns with high safety, low cost, and wide market suitability have accelerated the replacement of reusable face masks with disposable ones during the last decades. However, wearing these masks creates countless problems associated with personnel comfort as well as more significant issues related to the cost of fabrication, the generation of medical waste, and environmental contaminants. In this work, we present a facile spray-pressing technique for the production of P-masks with a potential scale-up prospect by adding a graphene layer on one side of meltblown fabric and a functional layer on the other side. In principle, this technique could be easily integrated into the present automatic mask production process and the masks have self-cleaning and/or self-sterilizing properties when it is exposed to solar or simulated solar irradiation.

The flow field in a cavity depends on the properties of the upstream boundary layer and the cavity geometry. Comprehensive studies for rectangular cavities have been conducted. This experimental study determines the global surface pressure pattern for elliptical cavities (eccentricities of 0, 0.66 and 0.87) in a naturally developed turbulent boundary layer using pressure-sensitive paint. The ratio between the length (major axis) and the depth is 4.43–21.5, and the freestream Mach number is 0.83. The mean surface pressure distribution of an elliptical cavity resembles that of a rectangular cavity. A change in the value of eccentricity (wall curvature) affects the region for an adverse pressure gradient in an open cavity, an extension of the plateau in a transitional–closed cavity and flow expansion near the front and rear edges. The boundaries between an open, transitional and closed cavities vary.

The Galactic magnetar SGR J1935+2154 has undergone another outburst since 2022 October 10. We present the results of searching for an optical/near-infrared (NIR) counterpart of SGR J1935+2154 before and during this outburst. No counterpart was detected at the magnetar’s position in $r^{\prime} $ and $z^{\prime} $ bands, providing stringent upper limits of $r^{\prime} \gtrsim 28.65$ and $z^{\prime} \gtrsim 26.27$ . Using archival X-ray data from NICER, we investigated the properties of the bursts and the spectral evolution of persistent emission. The burst flux F showed a power-law distribution of N ∝ F ^−0.76±0.10 for flux ≳2.6 × 10 ^−9 erg cm ^−2 s ^−1 , while the temperature and radius followed a log-normal distribution with ${kT}={1.63}_{-0.50}^{+0.73}\ \mathrm{keV}$ and ${R}_{\mathrm{bb}}={4.35}_{-1.35}^{+1.95}\ \mathrm{km}$ , respectively. The persistent flux evolution experienced a quick decay and an enhancement ∼27 days after the Burst Alert Telescope trigger. Using the NIR and X-ray emission, together with the Gran Telescopio Canarias optical/NIR upper limits, we discussed the origin of the NIR emission from the magnetar based on the fallback disk model and magnetosphere model. We found that either model cannot be ruled out with currently available data. Further mid-infrared observations are needed to find out the mechanism for producing the NIR emission from SGR J1935+2154.

Magnetars and central compact objects (CCOs) are subgroups of neutron stars that show a number of properties distinguished from canonical radio pulsars. We performed radio observations of three magnetars, SGR 0418+5729, 1E 2259+586, and 4U 0142+61, and a CCO, PSR J1852+0040, with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope at 1.25 GHz, aiming to search for radio pulsations in their quiescent states. During two observation epochs, no radio pulses have been detected toward any target above a significance of signal-to-noise ratio = 7 from either the direct folding or blind search. We provided the most stringent upper limit of radio flux (≲2–4 μ Jy) for the magnetars and the CCO. For the magnetars with long periods, the real upper limits are likely 1 order of magnitude larger due to the red noise. The deep radio observations suggest that these magnetars and the CCO are indeed radio-quiet sources or unfavorably beamed.

Tissue nanotransfection (TNT), a cutting-edge technique of in vivo gene therapy, has gained substantial attention in various applications ranging from in vivo tissue reprogramming in regenerative medicine, and wound healing to cancer treatment. This technique harnesses the advancements in the semiconductor processes, facilitating the integration of conventional transdermal gene delivery methods—nanoelectroporation and microneedle technologies. TNT silicon chips have demonstrated considerable promise in reprogramming fibroblast cells of skin in vivo into vascular or neural cells in preclinical studies to assist in the recovery of injured limbs and damaged brain tissue. More recently, the application of TNT chips has been extended to the area of exosomes, which are vital for intracellular communication to track their functionality during the wound healing process. In this review, we provide an in-depth examination of the design, fabrication, and applications of TNT silicon chips, alongside a critical analysis of the electroporation-based gene transfer mechanisms. Additionally, the review discussed the existing limitations and challenges in the current technique, which may project future trajectories in the landscape of gene therapy. Through this exploration, the review aims to shed light on the prospects of TNT in the broader context of gene therapy and tissue regeneration.

Background and Aims: For women facing inevitable fertility decline, oocyte freezing is an effective method for fertility preservation. However, few studies discussed the pregnancy potential from autologous freezing oocytes. Thus, this study characterizes the realistic outcomes of advanced maternal age patients who underwent oocyte thawing. Method: In this retrospective cohort study, the selected 694 patients underwent oocyte freezing cycles (n=1,163) and oocyte thawing cycles (n=218) from Mar 2020 to Mar 2022 at our fertility center. All oocytes thaw cycles from Mar 2020 to Mar 2022 at TFC clinic, including social egg freezing (SEF) and egg collection (EC). Parameters for IVF laboratory outcome and pregnancy outcome were recorded, and statistics were analyzed with Chi-square. Results: Those patients who underwent egg freezing at average age for 40.2 years old, and 49.7% were over 37 years old. Secondly, the survival rate of oocyte thawing was 94.9% in patients under 38 years old, 93.7% were 38-40 years old, and 91.4% for patients over 41 years old. For patients under 38 years old, 72.2% of were conceived for thawing cycle. For advanced maternal age groups, 46.7% for patients in 38-40 years old group, and only 23.3% of patients over 41 years old were conceived. The live birth rate declines as the age increases, which were 55.6%, 33.3%, and 7.1% in different age groups. Conclusion: In this study, we found the survival rate of oocytes and blastulation of embryo showed no significant difference between different age groups. Clinical pregnancy outcome demonstrated a dramatic decline in patients aged over 41 years old compared with other groups. Therefore, these data suggested that oocyte collection strategy is more suitable for patients who are under 41 years old.

Background and Aims: In common experience of in vitro-fertilization (IVF) cycle, blastocysts formed at Day 5 (D5) are regarded as higher quality and are more desirable for embryo transfer compared with those formed at Day 6 (D6). How those delayed D6 embryo differs from D5 embryo is less discussed. This study aimed to elucidate the cell content distinguished by immunofluorescent (IF) staining between the same grade of D5 and D6 blastocysts that might link to the clinical pregnancy outcome in frozen–thawed embryo from different day of blastocyst formation. Method: The retrospective study included 1327 frozen-thawed single blastocyst transfer (SBT) cycles in the Taipei Fertility Center during March 2020 to December 2022. All D5 (D5-SBT) and D6 (D6-SBT) frozen-thawed SET cycles (n=1327) were separated to non-PGS (n=671) and PGS-euploid (n=656) groups, then assigned to high grade (AA, AB, BA, BB) and low grade (BC, CB, CC). Aneuploidy and mosaicism embryo are excluded. For cell content analysis, pluripotent marker OCT-4 initially expressed in all blastomeres but restricted to the inner cell mass (ICM) of the blastocyst and downregulated in the trophectoderm (TE). GATA-3 is a TE specific marker which increases during pre-implantation embryo development. The cell number, OCT-4 and GATA-3 expression of same grade frozen-thawed D5 (n=14) and D6 (n=14) blastocysts were analyzed with IF staining. D5 extensively cultured to D6 (n=10) were used as the control group of regularly development. Cell numbers of TE and ICM region were examined by OCT-4 and GATA-3 IF detection. The total cell number was visualized with DAPI staining. Results: According to staining results, there were no significant differences in total cell number, TE and ICM cell number between the same grade D5 and D6 blastocysts. However, TE cell number significantly increased in D5 extensively cultured blastocysts, indicating higher proliferative capacity in TE cells from D5 blastocysts. Objective To explore the function and mechanism of tamoxifen, an estrogen receptor modulator, in the pathogenesis of hyperplatic scar. Methods Primary human fibroblasts were isolated and cultured for 4 generations and then aliquated into 3 groups: control group, TGF-β1 group and TGF-β1+ tamoxifen group. The effects of tamoxifen on human fibrogenic factor production, cell proliferation, migration and differentiation of TGF-β1-induced skin fibroblasts were detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), MTS, cell scratch test, Western blot and immunofluorescence assay. Results Tamoxifen (10 μmol/L) inhibited the production of collagen 1, collagen 3 and α-SMA induced by TGF-β1 in fibroblasts. MTS results showed that the proliferation activity of TGF-β1 group was higher than that of tamoxifen group (P＜0.05). Wound healing test verified that the migration ability of cells was reduced by tamoxifen intervention. Tamoxifen inhibited collagen secretion and differentiation of skin fibroblasts into muscle fibroblasts. Conclusions The estrogen receptor modulator tamoxifen inhibits pathological proliferation of fibroblasts, so it may be a potential novel strategy for the treatment of hyperplastic scar.

Abstract Cancerous inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A (CIP2A) is an oncoprotein overexpressed in human malignancies, including prostate cancer (PCa). In this study, we aimed to explore the oncogenic function of CIP2A in PCa cells and its underlying mechanism. We showed that 63.3% (38/60 cases) of PCa tissues exhibited a high CIP2A immunostaining, compared to 25% (3/12 cases) of BPH samples (p = 0.023). Furthermore, the protein level of CIP2A was positively correlated with patients’ short survival time and nuclear AR levels in PCa tissues. Compared to PZ-HPV-7, an immortalized prostate cell line, androgen-sensitive LNCaP C-33, androgen-independent LNCaP C-81, or 22Rv1 cells exhibited a high CIP2A level, associated with high protein and phosphorylation levels of AR. While AR expression and activity modulated CIP2A expression, manipulating CIP2A expression in PCa cells regulated their AR protein levels and proliferation. The reduction of CIP2A expression also enhanced the sensitivity of PCa cells toward Enzalutamide treatment. Our data further showed that depletion of polo-kinase 1 (PLK1) expression or activity in C-81 or 22Rv1 cells caused reduced protein levels of c-Myc and AR. Notably, inhibition of PLK1 activity could abolish CIP2A-promoted expressions in c-Myc, AR, and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in C-33 cells under an androgen-deprived condition, suggesting the role of PLK1 activity in CIP2A-promoted AR expression. In summary, our data showed the existence of a novel regulation between CIP2A and AR protein levels, which is critical for promoting PCa malignancy. Thus, CIP2A could serve as a therapeutic target for PCa.

Abstract Purpose Our previous studies have suggested that the first trimester fasting plasma glucose (FPG) level is associated with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and is a predictor of GDM. The aim of the present study was to provide valuable insights into the accuracy of the first trimester FPG level in the screening and diagnosis of GDM in southern China. Methods This retrospective study included pregnant women who had their first trimester FPG level recorded at 9–13+6 weeks and underwent screening for GDM using the 2-h 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) between the 24th and 28th gestational weeks. Differences between the GDM and non-GDM groups were assessed by Student’s t test and the chi-squared test according to the nature of the variables. A restricted cubic spine was used to explore the relationship between the first trimester FPG level and the odds ratio (OR) of GDM in pregnant women. Cut-off values of first trimester FPG were determined using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and the area under the curve (AUC), and 95% confidence intervals (CIs), the positive predictive value (PPV) and the negative predictive value (NPV) were calculated. Results The medical records of 28,030 pregnant women were analysed, and 4,669 (16.66%) of them were diagnosed with GDM. The average first trimester FPG level was 4.62 ± 0.37 mmol/L.
