Amber Hine, a student member of the Society of Garden Designers, transformed a concrete car port into a step-free oasis for a couple, one of whom has mobility issues. The clients wanted an accessible space for entertaining that would also allow them to engage with plants and wildlife. Amber used raised beds and different heights of planters to create a sense of spaciousness and depth in the garden. The design includes a pathway with staggered edges and a combination of paving and gravel to create a natural landscape feel. The plant selection focused on sound, texture, and architectural impact, with an emphasis on evergreen options for a compact space. The garden has been successful in attracting wildlife and the clients are pleased with the results. [Extracted from the article]
