Porphyrins are an important category of dyes for efficient dye‐sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). However, the efficiency improvement of DSSCs lags behind those of organic and perovskite solar cells owing to deficiencies in new design strategies of dye molecular structures. Recently, double fence porphyrins with superior photovoltaic performance were reported, in which eight alkoxyl chains were introduced to wrap the porphyrin core and retard the approach of the electrolyte to the surface of TiO2. On the basis of the design strategy of double fence porphyrins, novel porphyrins bJS8, YS2, YS3, YS7, and MC1 featuring dual functional indacenodithiophene group are synthesized and their photovoltaic performance in DSSCs are studied. Among these new double fence porphyrin dyes, YS7 exhibits an improved power conversion efficiency of 11.4% (short circuit photocurrent (JSC) = 17.34 mA cm−2, open circuit photovoltage (VOC) = 0.864 V, and fill factor (FF) = 0.758) compared to the previously reported double fence porphyrin bJS2 of 10.7% (JSC = 16.59 mA cm−2, VOC = 0.849 V, and FF = 0.759) and the benchmark porphyrin dye GY50 of 10.1% (JSC = 16.14 mA cm−2, VOC = 0.863 V, and FF = 0.725) under optimized conditions, providing a new molecular design strategy for high‐efficiency porphyrin dyes in DSSCs. The higher the pointing accuracy of the radio telescope, the more obvious the influence of wind disturbance on antenna performance. Taking the site of the 110 m aperture QiTai radio Telescope (QTT) as an example, the terrain and air flow characteristics of the site are studied. It is found that the wind direction with high incoming wind frequency and relatively high speed is mostly located in the mountain gap on the periphery of the antenna. If the wind resistance facilities are precisely arranged in the upstream tuyere, the wind speed in the antenna area can be effectively reduced. This study proposes a method to control the wind flow at a telescope site based on the precise arrangement of the windbreak fence. The windbreak fence simulation model is constructed using the theory of porous jump. The mean error of the simulation results is less than 14% compared to the wind tunnel measured data, indicating that the constructed windbreak fence model has high reliability. The computational domain model of the working conditions for the site is constructed. The extreme condition of the windbreak fence arrangement is considered, and the simulation results show that the wind speed in the antenna area can be reduced by more than 30% through the control of the windbreak fence. It verifies the feasibility of the method of controlling the wind flow by the windbreak fence for the site which provides a reference for the subsequent research on the precise arrangement of the windbreak fence. Purposes: Evaluate the KONI (Indonesian National Sports Committee) test in identifying talent in 35 sports. Method: The study used observational design. The 170 male athletes aged 21.05±3.70 years participated in this study. Data analysis used discriminant analysis applied to 3 anthropometric tests and 6 physical condition tests in swimming, golf, fencing, bicycle racing, badminton, taekwondo, football, basketball, judo, volleyball, martial arts, rugby, boxing, equestrian, wrestling, tennis, diving, jiu jitsu, aeromodelling, softball, tarung derajat, kempo, weightlifting, rollerblading, sambo, dance sport, wushu, muay thai, karate, triathlon, billiards, motor racing, athletics, bridge, and petanque. Result: discriminant analysis produces 6 variables (1 anthropometry and 5 physical conditions) that discriminate maximally in 35 different sports. Discriminant analysis resulted in 53.5% correct classification of all participants for 35 different sports. The distinguishing characteristics are briefly as follows: height for badminton and volleyball, speed for rugby and softball, leg muscle power for basketball and volleyball, VO2max for swimming and softball, arm muscle strength for tarung derajat and kempo, agility for badminton and tennis field. Conclusion: The KONI test allows identification of talent characteristics that are relevant according to their sport based on discriminant functions used a combination of test scores for height, leg muscle power, arm muscle strength, agility, speed, and VO2max. We present the result of a corpus study on the difference between quelques 'a few' and plusieurs 'several'. On this basis, we propose a categorization of the nouns significantly attracted by quelques and argue for an understanding of the distinction in topological terms (Grimm, 2012a , 2012b ; Wągiel, 2018 , 2019). A series of observations, focusing successively on the aggregate nouns (pomme de terre 'potato'), a sub-class of 'fence' nouns (gribouillis 'scrawl') and the mass plurals (victuailles 'victuals') leads us to argue that quelques Npl 'a few Npl' is a 'clustered' plural, which is true of a (more or less) cohesive set of connected entities, while plusieurs 'several' quantifies over sets of maximally strongly self-connected (mssc) entities. We will show that this principle can also be generalized to the temporal domain. We shall see that this distinction between the two determiners has numerous consequences on atomicity, the mass-count distinction, the possibility of counting individuals, and especially, on the existence of an individuation scale in the nominal domain. The article provides information on federal tax developments that took place in April 2023. There is an urgent need to link grazing exclusion policy and the resulting benefits for fence layout management. However, policy implementation intensity and benefits are rarely considered together. Here, combining the changes in the rate of the livestock and fenced area, we constructed a grazing prohibition intensity (GPI) index that reflected the intensity of policy implementation. We also quantified ecosystem service benefits (ESBs), including net primary productivity (NPP) and soil conservation by the different models. Then, a new perspective in combination with ESBs and GPI was used to assess whether a fence layout is appropriate using the four–quadrant model and how to optimize a potentially unreasonable fence layout based on seven drivers. We found that the NPP and soil conservation service notably increased by 59% and 87%, respectively, in the total fenced area, after the implementation of the grazing exclusion program. The high values of ESBs and GPI were concentrated in the eastern and central‐eastern regions of the northern Tibet, respectively. Moreover, the potentially unreasonable fence layout accounted for 10% of the total fenced area, and was focused on meadow areas with a high human footprint. The area proportion of reasonable fence layout coupling ESBs and GPI increased by 20% compared with ESBs individually. Finally, an optimal potential unreasonable fence layout might reduce the mismatch between the ESB and GPI by considering countermeasures such as attention to the potential unreasonable fence layout, setting a target for supplying carbon sinks and soil and water conservation quantities and reducing the human footprint. The organisation of fields and fences in agriculture that emerged during the Middle Ages and the early modern period was a complex system that combined individual ownership of and communal practices in arable land, meadows and pastures. It was adapted for small and mid-size family-based farming and was a different way to organise agriculture than the medieval estates (demesnes) and the larger coherent fields of the eighteenth century and onwards. The past decade of research in historical geography and economic history has highlighted the origin of this system, which is often referred to as the open-field system; it was open in the sense that it promoted communal farming of primarily arable land. This pre-modern farming system was, however, in many areas a physically closed landscape – a landscape where fences stood out as significant elements. This article investigates the use of fences in a part of early modern western Sweden. The empirical base is a reconstruction of fence-organisations from detailed large-scale maps dating from the mid-seventeenth century. Using historical maps, this study focuses on the collaboration and interaction among farms and settlements. We argue that the open-field system cannot be fully understood without regard to an in-depth analysis of the fences and the institutions holding the complex collaboration together. The occurrence or absence of fences in relation to open-fields involves several questions: What are the characteristics of the fences in the farming systems known as open-field? What can be said about the spatial distributions and connections between the settlements sharing the same open-field? Can agrarian landscapes where fences were prominent elements be considered open-field? The results show that fences appear to be a key factor in understanding settlement patterns and open-fields in Scandinavian regions. A large number of fences created small fenced open-fields. Moreover, the divisions of the arable plots had less importance in the creation of open-fields, which included arable land, meadows and pastures. Instead, cross-settlement collaborations and arrangements are central for the open-fields in the study region. The regional differences within the open-field system provide an understanding of the preconditions and organisation of mixed farming, which combined small-scale arable land cultivation and large-scale pastures. • Open field refers to farming systems in medieval and early modern Europe. • The open-field organisations were based on agreements between farmers. • Fences are a key factor in understanding open-field organisations. • Fences kept the grazing animals away from the crops and ensured pasture. • Lack of grazing land could explain the different forms of cooperation. This article revolves around a specific materiality: a hole in the fence surrounding Lampedusa's refugee centre. By allowing migrants to informally leave the violently guarded centre and enter Lampedusa town, the hole connects social worlds that on paper should be separate. For the local population, the hole materialises an absence of state management and 'clear rules', but it also facilitates encounters between locals and migrants in the form of economic transactions and acts of helpfulness. This does not mean that anti-immigration sentiments are absent, but they remain generally concealed beneath civil pragmatism—measures of etiquette aimed at peacefully preserving public space. Further, by highlighting everyday ambiguity and pragmatic interests, the article provides a tempering of the ideologically overdetermined vocabularies that dominate much discourse on migration in Europe. The interaction of a firebrand shower with some types of combustible building materials and wood structures was studied experimentally. The heat flux generated by firebrands was determined, and the temperature fields of the most heat-stressed sections of the structures were analyzed. The heating rate of samples was estimated based on infrared thermography data. Under the selected experimental conditions, the bench sample was found to be the most resistant to ignition. Estimation of the near-surface temperature of the bench element showed that after 15-min continuous exposure to firebrands, the temperature in the zone of maximum accumulation of firebrands did not exceed 130°C. The wood fence model was found to be most prone to ignition (ignition delay time more than 15% lower compared to the other structures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article discusses the use of photogrammetry techniques by the Infrastructure Master Plan (IMP) of the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to map their assets. The IMP primarily uses land survey data to create a basemap, but inaccessible areas create data voids that are filled using photogrammetry. The challenges faced during photogrammetry data compilation are also discussed, including manpower mobilization, changing the order of survey, updating attribute information, and connecting above ground and underground features. The advantages of photogrammetric data compilation over land survey are highlighted, such as mapping hazardous areas and inaccessible installations in a safer and faster way. Overall, photogrammetry has helped KOC optimize their use of resources and improve safety for surveyors. [Extracted from the article]

Throughout history, the throne has always been a symbol of power and a sign of the legitimacy of the ruler of the time, which is clearly reflected in illustrated manuscripts, including Shahnameh of Tahmasabi. The throne and the sitting position in Tahmasbi's Shahnameh include different and distinguishable types from the perspective of composition and the type of characters sitting on them. The illustrated Shahnamehs of Hakim Ferdowsi, especially the Shahnameh of Shah Tahmasab, contain more motifs related to thrones and thrones than other illustrated versions, due to the nature and type of literary work. By analyzing 256 images of this magnificent work, 145 thrones and sitting postures were counted out of 86 images. The aim is to identify the types of thrones and other seating elements depicted in Shahnameh Tahmasbi of the Safavid era. This essay is an attempt to answer this question: What are the types, structure, abundance and the characters sitting on them of the arrays of thrones and sitting devices in Shahnameh Tahmasabi? The research method is descriptive-analytical and the method of collecting librarydocumentary information. The number of statistical samples is 86 images from Tehamasbi's Shahnameh, which contains at least one motif of sitting elements. The results indicate that thrones, chairs, stools, and palanquin are among the types of sitting elements mentioned in the work, which painters have often associated with the use of imaginary aspects in the visualization of their structure and the use of gold color, metal material. Painters have combined imaginative aspects such as flaming, animal and plant bases with realistic elements such as static frames and bases. This trend towards realism is more visible in the characters whose historical and real aspects are more prominent. Among the limited parts that the painter has associated with wood in the structure of the thrones, the wooden fence is the wall of the long canopied thrones. Among the thrones, from the point of view of structure, long crowned thrones with 33 cases and short platform thrones with 8 cases have the highest and lowest frequency, respectively. Among the types of seating elements, the motif of types of thrones with 73 items is the most abundant, and the next ranks are types of chairs with 35 items, stools with 23 items, and palanquin with 14 items. In some cases, the thrones of the warriors are less wide than the kings. This species is mostly seen in battle scenes. From the perspective of the characters, Fereydoun throne as a mythological king has been repeated more than others. The king, as the main and central figure of power, always sits on thrones, which are seen in a higher position compared to other people. Among the wrestlers and braves, Zal has a similar feature with 4 flat motif items. Among the mythological characters, Persepolis and Kikavus have a reputation beyond the images compared to other similar ones. Roadkill and other impacts of roads on wildlife create pressures on society and the environment, requiring the implementation of mitigation measures in response. Due to various natural and anthropogenic causes, the locations of wildlife–vehicle collisions are not stable in time and space. The identification of urban and wildlife corridor intersections can help anchor collision locations along high-risk road sections. Urban and wildlife corridors and their intersections were identified in a case study of Lithuania using a landscape connectivity identification method based on circuit theory. A strong relationship was found between the numbers of urban–wildlife corridor intersections and the numbers of wildlife–vehicle collisions. Short road sections were characterised by the number of urban–wildlife corridor intersections, mammal–vehicle collisions, and the presence of fencing. Multi-criteria analyses identified the road sections where wildlife fencing is, simultaneously, the longest, and the number of mammal–vehicle collisions and the number of urban–wildlife corridor intersections are highest. The results show that identifying wildlife and urban corridor intersections can reinforce locations for permanent roadkill mitigation measures. The identification of crossing structure type and location within shortlisted road sections and evaluation of their efficiencies remain the challenges for field research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study was to examine whether target width and target distance influence the planning phase of a fencing lunge (early and anticipatory postural adjustments) as well as the execution phase of a fencing lunge. Eight elite female fencers participated in the study. The displacement of the center of foot pressure, muscle activity of the tibialis anterior, and kinematics of center of mass were recorded using force plates. The results show that target width and distance have no effect on early and anticipatory postural adjustments as well as the acceleration and velocity of the center of mass at the moment of foot-off. However, a greater target distance was associated with a greater max center of mass acceleration and velocity, and larger target width resulted in a greater max center of mass acceleration during lunging (p < 0.05). We suppose that the effect of task parameters on preparing a fencing lunge may be mitigated due to the specific technique adopted by expert fencers and the ballistic nature of a fencing lunge. In force-based seismic design, the behavior factor q (or response modification factor R) is devised to prevent overdesign by reducing the design force. Different values of the behavior factor q are available for various structure types. However, masonry fence walls are not categorized in the current seismic design codes. These walls are of poor quality due to the absence of proper quality assurance and maintenance, and most of those structures are inclined. In this study, the behavior factor q of leaning masonry fence walls is experimentally estimated. We fabricate three masonry wall structures that are inclined with three different wall angles of 1.5 ∘ , 3.0 ∘ , and 6.0 ∘ , respectively. Monotonically increasing biaxial lateral loads are applied to the walls using a shaking table. The value q of each leaning wall is calculated by analyzing the dynamic load–displacement relationship. A relationship between the factor q and wall angle is discussed, and a new empirical formula representing q as a function of a wall angle is proposed. Popular agrivoltaic systems use photovoltaic (PV) farms for pasture grazing animals. In general, these agrivoltaic systems do not reduce the capital cost of a PV farm and in some cases can increase it. To overcome this challenge this study investigates the potential for retrofitting existing animal fencing on farms to have dual use for vertical-mounted monofacial PV racking. Specifically, this study catalogs types of fences and wind load calculations classified under Risk Category I are run through a new python-based Open Source Wind Load Calculator to determine the viability of fence-based racking throughout the U.S. The base shear force for all the fences are calculated for a range of wind loads from 80mph to 150mph (129 km/h to 241 km/h) and the results are mapped to indicate the number of PV modules between the vertical fence poles a fence can tolerate in a specific location. The results show the required fence type including post and battens in a given area for sheep, goats, pigs, cows, and alpaca to be used for agrivoltaics. Overall, at least one PV module between posts is acceptable indicating a new agrivoltaic system potential that as little as $0.035/kWh for racking on existing fencing. Although the yield for a vertical PV can range from 20 to 76 % of an optimized tilt angle depending on azimuth, the racking cost savings enable fence-retrofit agrivoltaics to often produce lower levelized cost electricity. The article considers the methods for predicting the technological settlements of buildings in the zone of influence of the construction of deep pit fences in the form of a cut-off wall of the trench type, borehole and bored-secant piles, jacked and vibro-driven sheet piles. The results of studies that allow predicting certain types of technological settlements in various engineering and geological conditions, including soil bases composed of water-saturated weak clay soils and loose sands, are presented. Fencing is a ubiquitous feature of our agricultural landscape. Fences necessarily have the potential to reduce habitat connectivity for resident ungulate populations. Unsuccessful fence crossings have the potential to cause injury or death to wildlife, as well as resulting in damage to the fence in terms of time and maintenance costs. Wildlife friendly fence designs may provide landowners and ungulate managers the opportunity to mitigate risks associated with wildlife crossings. Using remote cameras (n = 12) along the perimeter fence of the Wainwright Dunes Ecological Reserve, Alberta, we quantified and compared elk crossing behaviors at standard 4 strand fences and gates as well as 3 strand fences and gates both with experimentally modified top and bottom strand heights. We found that wildlife friendly designs promoted behavioral options for elk of various demographic classes to cross fences. Our results suggest that the number of strands and the height of the top and bottom strand are important determinants for animals deciding to cross over, through, or under fences. While difficult or problematic crossings were primarily determined by how the individual crossed and made up a proportionally small number of crossings, the sheer volume of crossings we observed suggests that any modification which increases fence permeability to elk will likely result in less damage to fences and the crossing individuals.
