Background: CARA set out to develop a data-visualisation platform to facilitate general practitioners to develop a deeper understanding of their patient population, disease management and prescribing through dashboards. To support the continued use and sustainability of the CARA dashboards, dashboard performance and user engagement have to be optimised. User research places people at the centre of the design process and aims to evaluate the needs, behaviours and attitudes of users to inform the design, development and impact of a product. Objective: To explore how different initial key messages impact the level of behavioural engagement with a CARA dashboard. Methods: Participating general practices can upload their practice data for analysis and visualisation in CARA dashboards. Practices will be randomised to one of three different initial landing pages: the full dashboard or one of two key messages: a between comparison (their practice prescribing with the average of all other practices) or within comparison (with practice data of the same month the previous year) with subsequent continuation to the full dashboard. Analysis will determine which of the three landing pages encourages user interaction, as measured by the number of 'clicks', 'viewings' and 'sessions'. Dashboard usage data will be collected through Google analytics. Discussion: This study will provide evidence of behavioural engagement and its metrics during the implementation of the CARA dashboards to optimise and sustain interaction. In Germany, a comprehensive reimbursement policy for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) results in the highest per capita use worldwide, although benefits remain controversial. Public ECMO data is unstructured and poorly accessible to healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers. In addition, there are no uniform policies for ECMO allocation which confronts medical personnel with ethical considerations during health crises such as respiratory virus outbreaks.Retrospective information on adult and pediatric ECMO support performed in German hospitals was extracted from publicly available reimbursement data and hospital quality reports and processed to create the web-based ECMO Dashboard built on Open-Source software. Patient-level and hospital-level data were merged resulting in a solid base for ECMO use analysis and ECMO demand forecasting with high spatial granularity at the level of 413 county and city districts in Germany.The ECMO Dashboard (https://www.ecmo-dash.de/), an innovative visual platform, presents the retrospective utilization patterns of ECMO support in Germany. It features interactive maps, comprehensive charts, and tables, providing insights at the hospital, district, and national levels. This tool also highlights the high prevalence of ECMO support in Germany and emphasizes districts with ECMO surplus – where patients from other regions are treated, or deficit – origins from which ECMO patients are transferred to other regions. In this paper we propose a dashboard of indicators of territorial attractiveness at NUTS3 level in the framework of the EU Regional Competitiveness Index (RCI). Then, the Fuzzy C-Medoids Clustering model with multivariate data and contiguity constraints is applied for partitioning the Italian provinces (NUTS3). The novelty is the territorial level analized, and the identification of the elementary indicators at the basis of the construction of the eleven composite competitiveness pillars. The positioning of the Italian provinces is deeply analyzed. The clusters obtained with and without contraints are compared. The obtained partition may play an important role in the design of policies at the NUTS3 level, a route already considered by the Italian government. The analysis developed and the related set of indicators at NUTS3 level constitute an information base that could be effectively used for the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). Objective: This study's purpose was to explore universities' online dashboards that communicate information about COVID-19 cases to campus communities, and if dashboards adhere to American College Health Association (ACHA) recommendations. Methods: The websites of all four-year, public universities with an enrollment of at least 10,000 students were analyzed for the presence of COVID-19 dashboards, if dashboards contained recommended case features (eg, number of cases, tests, and people in quarantine/isolation), as well as other helpful features (eg, epidemiological curve, cluster information). Results: Of the 263 universities included in the study, 76% had a dashboard, but only 15% contained all recommended features. Most (62%) had an epidemiological curve, but few (3%) reported information related to clusters. Conclusion: Dashboards display case information and encourage behavior change; however, there is a need for improved adherence to the ACHA's recommendations for COVID-19 dashboards to maximize their potential impact on campus communities. Background This study was conducted as an effort to develop a Korean construction job exposure matrix (KoConJEM) based on 60 occupations recently consolidated by the construction workers mutual aid association for use by the construction industry. Methods The probability, intensity, and prevalence of exposure to 26 hazardous agents for 60 consolidated occupations were evaluated as binary (Yes/No) or four categories (1 to 4) by 30 industrial hygiene experts. The score for risk was calculated by multiplying the exposure intensity by the prevalence of exposure. Fleiss' kappa for each hazardous agent and occupation was used to determine agreement among the 30 experts. The JEM was expressed on a heatmap and a web-based dashboard to facilitate comparison of factors affecting exposure according to each occupation and hazardous agent. Results Awkward posture, heat/cold, heavy lifting, and noise were hazardous agents regarded as exposure is probable by at least one or more experts in all occupations, while exposure to asphalt fumes was considered hazardous in the smallest number of occupations (n = 5). Based on the degree of agreement among experts, more than half of the harmful factors and most occupations showed fair to good results. The highest risk value was 16 for awkward posture for most occupations other than safety officer. Conclusions The KoConJEM provides information on the probability, intensity, and prevalence of exposure to harmful factors, including most occupations employing construction workers; therefore, it may be useful in the conduct of epidemiological studies on assessment of health risk for construction workers. Objective: New York City's automated mortality syndromic surveillance system monitors temporal and spatial patterns in mortality. To describe the use of the syndromic surveillance system, we used the system to find mortality patterns for the 15 leading causes of death and for deaths from rare and reportable diseases in New York City from February 2015 through June 2020. We used results to find aberrations that indicate threats to public health. Methods: We used unobserved components models to analyze time series of mortality counts for leading causes of death, historical limits methods for rare and reportable diseases, and SaTScan for temporal–spatial cluster analysis. We obtained data on the number of deaths from the electronic death registry system maintained by the city's Bureau of Vital Statistics. Results: The mortality syndromic surveillance system detected an increase in the number of deaths from heart disease by April 1, 2020, when 75.0 deaths occurred on March 24, 2020, instead of an expected 45.8 deaths (95% upper prediction limit of 61.0) and an increase in the number of deaths from all causes on March 20, 2020, when 194.0 deaths were observed while 150.1 deaths were expected (95% upper prediction limit of 178.0). The number of deaths from all causes returned to normal the week beginning June 14, 2020, when 990.0 deaths were observed and 998.8 deaths were expected. Practice Implications: When compared with efforts from New York City to provide yearly vital statistics, the automated mortality syndromic surveillance system can provide timely mortality data with fewer resources and raise the capacity to detect anomalous increases in mortality. Background: Preterm neonates are extensively monitored to require strict oxygen target attainment for optimal outcomes. In daily practice, detailed oxygenation data are hardly used and crucial patterns may be missed due to the snapshot presentations and subjective observations. This study aimed to develop a web-based dashboard with both detailed and summarized oxygenation data in real-time and to test its feasibility to support clinical decision making. Methods: Data from pulse oximeters and ventilators were synchronized and stored to enable real-time and retrospective trend visualizations in a web-based viewer. The dashboard was designed based on interviews with clinicians. A preliminary version was evaluated during daily clinical rounds. The routine evaluation of the respiratory condition of neonates (gestational age < 32 weeks) with respiratory support at the NICU was compared to an assessment with the assistance of the dashboard. Results: The web-based dashboard included data on the oxygen saturation (SpO2), fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2), SpO2/FiO2 ratio, and area < 80% and > 95% SpO2 curve during time intervals that could be varied. The distribution of SpO2 values was visualized as histograms. In 65% of the patient evaluations (n = 86) the level of hypoxia was assessed differently with the use of the dashboard. In 75% of the patients the dashboard was judged to provide added value for the clinicians in supporting clinical decisions. Conclusions: A web-based customized oxygenation dashboard for preterm neonates at the NICU was developed and found feasible during evaluation. The purposes of this study were to (1) longitudinally examine US college and university COVID-19 dashboard content and (2) explore county-level population health and COVID-19 community indicators where colleges with large undergraduate enrollments were located. We identified 10 colleges with the largest undergraduate enrollments. Next, we located all public and private two- and four-year nonprofit colleges (n = 58) in each respective county. We assessed active COVID-19 dashboards using established criteria from We Rate COVID Dashboards in March 2021 and February 2022. In 2021 and 2022, two-thirds (n = 38/58) of colleges had an active COVID-19 dashboard. While most COVID-19 dashboards were easy to read, they were less likely to include updated daily infection rates and testing frequency details. Overall quality, content, and features of COVID-19 dashboards varied greatly across colleges. Background: The potential of learning analytics dashboards in virtual reality simulation‐based training environments to influence occupational self‐efficacy via self‐reflection phase processes in the Chemical industry is still not fully understood. Learning analytics dashboards provide feedback on learner performance and offer points of comparison (i.e., comparison with one's own past performance or comparison with peer performance) to help learners make sense of their feedback. Objectives: We present a theoretical framework for describing learning analytics reference frames and investigate the impact of feedback delivered through dashboards with different reference frames on occupational self‐efficacy, while controlling for workplace self‐reflection. Methods: This experimental study engaged 42 chemical operator employees, aged between 18 and 55 years, each with at least one year of experience. We utilised a two‐group design to ask two research question each with three competing hypotheses related to changes in occupational self‐efficacy, employing Bayesian informative hypothesis evaluation. Results and Conclusions: Results for the primary research question suggest that dashboards with progress reference frames do not elicit greater change to self‐efficacy than those with social reference frames, however, they may elicit equal change. Furthermore, dashboards with social reference frames may elicit greater change to self‐efficacy than those with progress reference frames. Exploratory results found that dashboards with progress reference frames may elicit greater positive directional change than those with social reference frames and that they may elicit equal directional change. These findings contribute to the understanding of self‐efficacy beliefs within the Chemical industry, with potential impacts on skill development. The research may inform the design of targeted interventions and training programs to influence self‐efficacy. From a practical perspective, this research suggests that careful consideration is needed when choosing reference frames in learning analytics dashboards due to their potential consequences on the formation of learner self‐efficacy. Objective: The aim of the study is to describe the development of a cancer rehabilitation dashboard that collects data on physical function for cancer survivors in a cancer institute. Methods: This project was conducted at the Miami Cancer Institute. The cancer rehabilitation dashboard was developed by a team of physicians, biostatistician, and medical informatics teams to record, report and track the physical function of cancer survivors. A multimodal approach to the measurement of physical function was used and included the Patient-Reported Outcome Measurement Information System–Physical Function short form, Patient-Reported Outcome Measurement Information System–Fatigue short form, Timed Up and Go Test, Sit-to-Stand Test in 30-sec test, four-stage balance test, and grip strength. To develop this system, a Cerner Power Form was developed based on the physical function data. To display the data, a dedicated flowsheet was developed and placed within the Oncology Viewpoint in Cerner Millennium. Thus, from inside any patient record, the flowsheet could easily be accessed by providers without leaving normal clinician workflows. Using native functionality, the data can also be shown in graphical format to facilitate dialog with patients and oncology teams. All patient data from the Cerner Power Form discrete task assays were integrated into an existing Oncology Data Warehouse for all patients. The data elements in the Cerner Power Form were identified in the electronic medical record system, loaded into the Oncology Data Warehouse, and related to the other source systems to develop reports and data visualizations such as the cancer rehabilitation dashboard. The cancer rehabilitation dashboard allows visualization of numerous parameters of physical function in cancer survivors evaluated and treated and their change over time. Rendered in Tableau, the cancer rehabilitation dashboard acts as a centralized, interactive data source to analyze and connect clinicians to near real-time data. Results: The cancer rehabilitation dashboard was successfully developed and implemented into a cancer rehabilitation practice in a cancer institute and used to collect and track physical function data for cancer survivors receiving treatment and cancer survivors. This information has been used to direct the treatment plan and educate individual patients about the impact of the cancer and its treatment on physical function as well as oncology teams in a cancer institute. Conclusions: The cancer rehabilitation dashboard provides an insight into the physical function of cancer survivors receiving treatment and cancer survivors using both self-reported and objective metrics. Context.-- Electronic synoptic pathology reporting using xPert from mTuitive is available to all pathologists in British Columbia, Canada. Comparative feedback reports for pathologists and surgeons were created by using the synoptic reporting software. Objective.-- To use data stored in a single central data repository to provide nonpunitive confidential comparative feedback reports (dashboards) to individual pathologists and surgeons for reflection on their practice and to use aggregate data for quality improvement initiatives. Design.-- Integration of mTuitive middleware in 5 different laboratory information systems to have 1 software solution (xPert) sending discrete data elements to the central data repository was performed. Microsoft Office products were used to build comparative feedback reports and made the infrastructure sustainable. Two different types of reports were developed: individual confidential feedback reports (dashboards) and aggregated data reports. Results.-- Pathologists have access to an individual confidential live feedback report for the 5 major cancer sites. Surgeons get an annual confidential emailed PDF report. Several quality improvement initiatives were identified from the aggregate data. Conclusions.-- We present 2 novel dashboards: a live pathologist dashboard and a static surgeon dashboard. Individual confidential dashboards incentivize use of nonmandated electronic synoptic pathology reporting tools and have increased adoption rates. BACKGROUND: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) encompass a class of chemically and structurally diverse compounds that are extensively used in industry and detected in the environment. The US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) 2021 PFAS Strategic Roadmap describes national research plans to address the challenge of PFAS. OBJECTIVES: Systematic Evidence Map (SEM) methods were used to survey and summarize available epidemiological and mammalian bioassay evidence that could inform human health hazard identification for a set of 345 PFAS that were identified by the US EPA’s Center for Computational Toxicology and Exposure (CCTE) for in vitro toxicity and toxicokinetic assay testing and through interagency discussions on PFAS of interest. This work builds from the 2022 evidence map that collated evidence on a separate set of ~150 PFAS. Like our previous work, this SEM does not include PFAS that are the subject of ongoing or completed assessments at the US EPA. METHODS: SEM methods were used to search, screen, and inventory mammalian bioassay and epidemiological literature from peer-reviewed and gray literature sources using manual review and machine-learning software. For each included study, study design details and health end points examined were summarized in interactive web-based literature inventories. Some included studies also underwent study evaluation and detailed extraction of health end point data. All underlying data is publicly available online as interactive visuals with downloadable metadata. RESULTS: More than 13,000 studies were identified from scientific databases. Screening processes identified 121 mammalian bioassay and 111 epidemiological studies that met screening criteria. Epidemiological evidence (available for 12 PFAS) mostly assessed the reproductive, endocrine, developmental, metabolic, cardiovascular, and immune systems. Mammalian bioassay evidence (available for 30 PFAS) commonly assessed effects in the reproductive, whole-body, nervous, and hepatic systems. Overall, 41 PFAS had evidence across mammalian bioassay and epidemiology data streams (roughly 11% of searched chemicals). DISCUSSION: No epidemiological and/or mammalian bioassay evidence were identified for most of the PFAS included in our search. Results from this SEM, our 2022 SEM on ~150 PFAS, and other PFAS assessment products from the US EPA are compiled into a comprehensive PFAS dashboard that provides researchers and regulators an overview of the current PFAS human health landscape including data gaps and can serve as a scoping tool to facilitate prioritization of PFAS-related research and/or risk assessment activities. Understanding how individuals focus and perform visual searches during collaborative tasks can help improve user engagement. Eye tracking measures provide informative cues for such understanding. This article presents A-DisETrac, an advanced analytic dashboard for distributed eye tracking. It uses off-the-shelf eye trackers to monitor multiple users in parallel, compute both traditional and advanced gaze measures in real-time, and display them on an interactive dashboard. Using two pilot studies, the system was evaluated in terms of user experience and utility, and compared with existing work. Moreover, the system was used to study how advanced gaze measures such as ambient-focal coefficient K and real-time index of pupillary activity relate to collaborative behavior. It was observed that the time a group takes to complete a puzzle is related to the ambient visual scanning behavior quantified and groups that spent more time had more scanning behavior. How do the idealised promises and purposes of urban informatics compare to the material politics and practices of their implementation? To answer this question, I ethnographically trace the development of two data dashboards by strategic planners in an Australian city over the course of 2 years. By studying this techno-political process from its origins onward, I uncovered an interesting story of obdurate institutions, bureaucratic momentum, unexpected troubles, and, ultimately, frustration and failure. These kinds of stories, which often go untold in the annals of innovation, contrast starkly with more common framings of technological triumph and transformation. Several governments across the world have temporarily closed educational institutions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, numerous universities have seen a growing trend towards online learning scenarios. Thus, learning takes place not just within a person, but within and across the networks. However, the current implementations of open learning scenarios are facing many challenges, including: a) there is no systematic feature to track, evaluate and report the online learning activities of students; b) lack of immediacy and personal feedback; and c) lack of selfreflection. Consequently, Learning Analytics (LA) is one of the most distinguished solutions to address these challenges. In this study, the two kinds of LA dashboard, behavioral and cognitive, have been investigated. The methodological approach taken in this investigation was adopted from a design-based research framework, which blends empirical educational research with the theory-driven design of online learning environments. The initial sample consisted of 320 undergraduate nursing students. The cohort was divided into two groups according to the two types of LA dashboard. The findings have argued that behavioral dashboards took precedence over data evaluation items, while cognitive dashboards had the advantage in achieving the goals of LA - e.g., awareness, self-reflection, and impact on learning process. The rapid advance of business technologies in recent years has made knowledge an essential and strategic asset that determines the success or failure of an organisation. Access to the right information in real time and with high selectivity can be a competitive advantage in the business environment. Business intelligence systems help corporate executives, business managers, and other operational workers make better and more informed business decisions. This study aimed to assess the impact of using business intelligence tools on the decision-making process in organisations, specifically in sales marketing. The methodology applied to realise the study's objective was the Vercellis methodology. A set of data available on the sales marketing website SuperDataScience was used to implement a set of pressing KPIs for the business decision-making process in the area. Using these data, a complete business intelligence system solution was implemented. A data warehouse was created using the ETL (extract–transform–load) process, and the data were then explored using a set of dynamics dashboards with a view of the business metrics. The results showed the use of business intelligence systems that allow the integration and transformation of data from various sources stored in data warehouses, where it is possible to implement KPIs and carry out quick, concise, easy-to-interpret graphical analyses. Teacher dashboards provide real-time information about students' performance and progress, which help K-12 teachers to adjust feedback to student' specific needs during learning. Prior research indicated two problems with respect to how teachers provide feedback: (i) teachers do not always select the most effective feedback to support student' learning and (ii) feedback is not allocated equally to students with different abilities. Specifically, process feedback is considered most effective yet is relatively scarce. In order to understand how dashboards influence the type and allocation of feedback, we compared characteristics of feedback given after dashboard consultation (dashboard-prompted feedback) to feedback triggered by teachers themselves or in response to students' questions (human-prompted feedback) in thirty-five K-12 classrooms. Results showed that dashboards led to equal amounts of task and process feedback, while human-prompts led to much more task than process feedback and this difference was especially large for low-ability students. Hence the different types of dashboard-prompted feedback were more equally distributed among students of different ability levels. One apparent challenge associated with learning analytics (LA) has been to promote adoption by university educators. Researchers suggest that a visualization dashboard could serve to help educators use LA to improve learning design (LD) practice. We therefore used an educational design approach to develop a pedagogically useful and easy-to-use LA visualization solution to support data-informed LD. We interviewed four staff in a medical degree program at a New Zealand university, designed and piloted a dashboard, and evaluated it through interviews. As a proof-of-concept project, our study showed that educational design research could be meaningfully used to develop a visualization dashboard that is easy-to-use and useful. In particular, the preliminary design principles identified provide implications for practitioners who are seeking to use LA to inform LD. Developed to maximize learning performance, learning analytics dashboards (LAD) are becoming increasingly commonplace in education. In this study, two LADs and a learning support system were used in a higher education course to support students' cognitive and selfregulated learning (SRL) strategies. A total of 54 students' learning logs on three systems and their learning performance scores were collected; descriptive statistics of learning behaviors, Mann-Whitney U test, and lag sequential analysis were used to explore how students with different learning performances used LADs to support their learning. Compared to low-performers, high-performers used the LADs more frequently during preview and review phases and conducted more monitoring and reflection strategies to support their learning. The paper aims to show and explain the usefulness of tools used for the eco-food products promotion. The approach is done from two perspectives: efficiency and sustainability goals. By reconsidering the multiple dimensions of qualitative food and the ecological attitude, we build a dashboard of modern promotion techniques that consider the objectives of sustainable development and quantify the progress achieved. The approach is on three value levels: economic, social and ecological. The analysis is done for the last 5 years, with data from Romania related to the food that is produced and consumed in the eco context. All these are in accordance with the requirements of sustainable development. The research is based on thematic description, analysis and synthesis. The specific indicators of sustainable development and others are considered. These indicators are drawn regarding the efficiency of sustainable and efficient tools, the progress achieved in supporting sustainable development and the contribution of eco-food to the wellbeing improvement and economic growth or stability. Even the separated topics are very well approached in the specialty literature, the connection between them and the boldness to expose another face of promotion is mainly an original approach. This paper seeks to map out the knowledge requirements and infrastructure needed for a comprehensive and quantitative analysis of the societal and geographical dimensions of effective policies regarding COVID-19 ('coronametrics' or 'pandemetrics'). After a sketch of limitations and challenges in corona research, a multi-layer mind map is designed in order to systematically scan the cognitive needs in the corona domain and to address both health policy and socioeconomic-medical information requirements in a geographic context, with a particular view to the use of actionable dashboards. A systematic decomposition of the corona knowledge system is pursued to acquire a coherent insight into gaps in corona knowledge, with particular emphasis on policy and research relevance. It turns out that the study of causality patterns in the complex spacetime evolution of COVID-19 is the Achilles' heel in the analysis of pandemetrics and calls for new effective and preventive research endeavors in support of actionable health policy. One apparent challenge associated with learning analytics (LA) has been to promote adoption by university educators. Researchers suggest that a visualization dashboard could serve to help educators use LA to improve learning design (LD) practice. We therefore used an educational design approach to develop a pedagogically useful and easy-to-use LA visualization solution to support data-informed LD. We interviewed four staff in a medical degree program at a New Zealand university, designed and piloted a dashboard, and evaluated it through interviews. As a proof-of-concept project, our study showed that educational design research could be meaningfully used to develop a visualization dashboard that is easy-to-use and useful. In particular, the preliminary design principles identified provide implications for practitioners who are seeking to use LA to inform LD. This Article explores the law, politics, and statistics of communicating data through the thousands of state, county, school district, and higher-education dashboards created in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Using a nationally distributed questionnaire and series of interviews with dashboard managers and stakeholders, we offer a wide-ranging view of data visualization practice in response to COVID-19. We pair this evidence with a survey of almost 3,000 entities responsible for public health communication, which resulted in collection of over 1,100 COVID-19 dashboards from a spectrum of government actors and private parties. We evaluate how legal issues were perceived and acted on, how data were politicized, and what technical challenges dashboard creators faced. We examine factors that led to creation of dashboards along with theory that explores the cognitive perception of dashboard elements. We explore the role of resources, and how those interplayed with specific software choices. We also examine the effect of local characteristics on dashboard creation, such as the presence of a county dashboard on data communication from local schools, the role of broadband access, technical occupations in the area, and so on. We conclude by suggesting a series of policies and practices that can be implemented to prepare for future data-based communication in a future public health crisis. These include practices to prepare for data visualization, enhanced resources devoted to public health communication, and the management of legal and political issues surrounding publicizing health information. Background and Objectives: Dashboards have been utilized in health care to improve quality and patient care. The purpose of our project was to create a concise, timely, and accurate dashboard for administrative and clinical leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Two authors collaborated to identify 14 metrics and design a comprehensive dashboard (CovidStats, CS) using Microsoft Excel. The dashboard was updated daily and distributed to leadership between December 2020 and April 2021. The utility of this quality measure was assessed by survey of hospital leadership. Results: The 14 metrics included were as follows: (1) elective surgery census threshold; (2) daily COVID admissions; (3) daily COVID discharges; (4) net COVID admissions; (5) ED (emergency department) bed holds; (6) COVID ED bed holds; (7) hospital census; (8) percent COVID census; (9) active COVID census; (10) COVID ICU (intensive care unit); (11) MICU (medical ICU) census; (12) ventilators in use; (13) high-flow oxygen devices in use; and (14) weekly hospital census. The leadership response survey revealed unanimous approval for CS, with a mean rating of 4.9 ± 0.3 (rated 1-5). Conclusions: Effective clinical dashboards can be created using affordable basic computer software. Implementation of the CS dashboard conveyed relevant and timely information, which influenced the decision making of hospital leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The color combination is an important factor affecting dashboard visual design and is key to triggering the operator's visual harmony and emotion. However, in the actual design process, the relationship among the different color schemes of a dashboard and the operator's harmony, pleasure, and cognitive load has not been effectively analyzed. To solve this problem, two methods, questionnaire measurement and eye movement tracking, were used to evaluate the effects of 24‐color combinations under four‐color schemes of a dashboard by analyzing the changes in color harmony, pleasure, eye movement indicators. The four schemes were red–yellow–blue, green–purple–orange, blue green–blue purple–yellow green, and red orange–yellow orange–red purple. The research results show that the degrees of color harmony and pleasure show a positive correlation. Cognitive load is not affected by color harmony. The larger the amount of information, the higher the cognitive load. This research can be used as a reference when designing and optimizing the color scheme of a business intelligence dashboard. Purpose To describe the development of a pilot specialty medication clinical dashboard targeting tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α inhibitor therapy. Summary This was a quality improvement project conducted between August 2019 and April 2020. The dashboard was designed with collaboration between clinical pharmacists and specialty providers in rheumatology, gastroenterology, and dermatology. Data was queried from the Veterans Affairs Corporate Data Warehouse. Patients with an active prescription or intravenous order for a TNF-α inhibitor were included. Dashboard flag criteria focused on TNF-α inhibitor safety and adherence monitoring. Flag results from the dashboard were characterized from data captured at a single time point. For 431 patients on TNF-α inhibitor treatment at the institution, 304 flags corresponding to 223 unique patients (51.7%) were identified on the dashboard: 3% of patients had a new infection, 9% had overdue monitoring laboratory tests, 5% had a critical laboratory result, 2% were on 2 biologic agents, 27% were overdue for a refill, 6% had an emergency department visit, and 2% had an inpatient admission. No patients were flagged for heart failure exacerbation or new malignancy. Seventeen percent of patients were prescribed high-dose etanercept or adalimumab, representing a potential annual cost savings of $302,497 if 50% of these patients had their dose successfully reduced to labeled dosing. Opportunities for pharmacist intervention utilizing the dashboard were identified and characterized through chart review of flagged patients. Conclusion Pharmacists have the opportunity to improve safety and adherence for TNF-α inhibitor therapy through use of a specialty medication clinical dashboard.
