Aim: To gain staff feedback on the implementation and impact of a novel ambulatory monitoring system to support coronavirus patient management on an isolation ward. Design: Qualitative service evaluation. Methods: Semi‐structured interviews were conducted with 15 multidisciplinary isolation ward staff in the United Kingdom between July 2020 and May 2021. Interviews were audio‐recorded, transcribed and analysed using thematic analysis. Findings: Adopting Innovation to Assist Patient Safety was identified as the overriding theme. Three interlinked sub‐themes represent facets of how the system supported patient safety. Patient Selection was developed throughout the pandemic, as clinical staff became more confident in choosing which patients would benefit most. Trust In the System described how nurses coped with discrepancies between the ambulatory system and ward observation machines. Finally, Resource Management examined how, once trust was built, staff perceived the ambulatory system assisted with caseload management. This supported efficient personal protective equipment resource use by reducing the number of isolation room entries. Despite these reported benefits, face‐to‐face contact was still highly valued, despite the risk of coronavirus exposure. Conclusion: Hospital wards should consider using ambulatory monitoring systems to support caseload management and patient safety. Patients in isolation rooms or at high risk of deterioration may particularly benefit from this additional monitoring. However, these systems should be seen as an adjunct to nursing care, not a replacement. Implications for the Profession and/or Patient Care: Nurses valued ambulatory monitoring as a means of ensuring the safety of patients at risk of deterioration and prioritizing their workload. Background: Helplines for post‐secondary students have emerged in the last decade to address the growing mental health needs and increasing help‐seeking of this population in ways that are responsive to their needs and preferences. However, there is no publicly available evidence of the effectiveness of helplines for post‐secondary students. Aims: This study evaluated the outcomes of Good2Talk, a helpline for post‐secondary students in Ontario, Canada, that offers professional counselling and information and referral services related to mental health, addictions and well‐being. Methods: In this cross‐sectional study, purposive sampling was used to recruit post‐secondary students who contacted Good2Talk between March 2016 and March 2020. Data were collected using post‐call questionnaires. Paired samples t‐tests and multinomial logistic regression analyses were used to analyse the data from 619 post‐secondary students. Results: Participants reported significant decreases in distress and increases in their ability to face their concern after contacting the helpline. Feeling understood and low pre‐call distress were significant predictors of low post‐call distress. Confidence in their abilities and having a better plan were significant predictors of high post‐call ability to face their concern. Age, gender and number of previous calls to the helpline were not significant predictors of positive outcomes. Most participants reported that they would recontact the helpline and recommend the helpline to a peer. Conclusion: The study indicates that counselling and information and referral services can be effective in reducing distress and increasing post‐secondary students' abilities to address their mental health concerns. Research over many years indicates that individuals with problematic alcohol or drug use or gambling disorders can cause considerable burden on family members. And yet, affected family members (AFMs) are largely neglected in research, health and social care policy and provision. To address the needs of AFMs of people struggling with a substance use or gambling disorder, the 5-Step Method was developed. The goal of this study is to evaluate the routinely delivered 5-Step Method in the Netherlands using measures at baseline (N = 145), and end-of-treatment (N = 102). In addition, a subsample at three-month post intervention (N = 70) was included. The intervention was delivered via video-conferencing to half (47.6%) of the participants. Participants reported significantly lower rates of Total Family Burden after completing the 5-Step Method, when comparing measurements at baseline and end-of-treatment (d = 0.56), and measurements at baseline and three-month post intervention (d = 0.85). In addition, participants following the intervention via video-conferencing (N = 69) performed equally well or better compared to participants following the intervention face-to-face (N = 76). Following the 5-Step Method for AFMs results in lower Total Family Burden. In accordance with the Stress-Strain-Information-Coping-Support (SSICS) model, the effectiveness of the intervention could be improved by finding new ways of increasing support for AFMs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We examined the Life Model of residential care for trauma-affected foster youth with life-skill deficits. Staff interviews described implementation. The Community-Oriented Programs Environment Scale, completed by youth and staff, assessed the care environment. The Child Assessment of Needs and Strengths, the Life Assessment, and discharge data were available for 42 youth. Results from the COPES indicated moderate-high scores on relationship, personal growth, and system maintenance. Paired-samples t-tests showed improvements in functioning, behavioral/emotional needs, and strengths. RMANOVAs of the Life Assessment showed youth experienced growth in spirituality/culture, education, vocation, and overall development. Currently, numerous population pharmacokinetic (popPK) models for methotrexate (MTX) have been published for estimating PK parameters and variability. However, it is unclear whether the accuracy of these models is sufficient for clinical application. The aim of this study is to evaluate published models and assess their predictive performance according to the standards of scientific research. A total of 237 samples from 74 adult patients who underwent high‐dose MTX (HDMTX) treatment at Shanghai Changzheng Hospital were collected. The software package NONMEM was used to perform an external evaluation for each model, including prediction‐based diagnosis, simulation‐based diagnosis, and Bayesian forecasting. The simulation‐based diagnosis includes normalized prediction distribution error (NPDE) and visual predictive check (VPC). Following screening, 7 candidate models suitable for external validation were identified for comparison. However, none of these models exhibited excellent predictive performance. Bayesian simulation results indicated that the prediction precision and accuracy of all models significantly improved when incorporating prior concentration information. The published popPK models for MTX exhibit significant differences in their predictive performance, and none of the models were able to accurately predict MTX concentrations in our data set. Step-down intermediate care aims to offer short-term care for people who are medically optimised for discharge but needing a period for further assessment and/or rehabilitation. The aim of this study, which was nested in a larger evaluation project, was to explore the experiences and perspectives of healthcare professionals to understand the implementation of a step-down IC service in Buckinghamshire, UK. The evidence is used to inform the service providers of what elements worked well and what areas require improvement. A qualitative study using semistructured interviews was conducted in May 2022. Ten healthcare professionals participated. Interviews were transcribed verbatim and reflexive thematic analysis was used to analyse the data. The following five core themes were developed: (1) the developmental period of step-down IC, (2) providing care together, (3) perceived functions of the integrated hub, (4) communication, and (5) resources. Findings from the interviews highlighted the excellent working relationships among healthcare professionals from different disciplines, which contributed to their job satisfaction and the efficiency of the service. In addition, healthcare professionals stressed the importance of the integrated hub, as it facilitated the communication between the teams and speeded up the decision-making. Several organisational challenges, such as communication issues, healthcare professionals' capacity, and the need for further funding were also voiced. Involving staff in the evaluation of a step-down intermediate care service has provided useful information on the service's implementation process and will inform the development of a long-term strategy for intermediate care. Objective: Hemangioma is a common benign tumor in the head and neck. The therapeutic effect by conventional treatment was not very satisfactory. The purpose of this study is to explore the surgical strategy of low-temperature plasma radiofrequency in the treatment of hemangioma located in the nasal cavity, pharynx, and larynx. Methods: The clinical data of 29 cases with hemangioma in nasal cavity, pharynx, and larynx treated by low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation were retrospectively analyzed. The strategy of ablation before resection was performed for 16 cases of nasal capillary hemangioma. The other 13 cases of cavernous hemangioma in the pharynx and larynx were treated by the strategy of direct ablation. Results: All 29 patients underwent a successful operation with minimal intraoperative bleeding and no postoperative bleeding complications. There was no nasal septum perforation, dyspnea, dysphagia, dysphonia, or other complications. The patients were followed up for more than 3 years without recurrence. Conclusion: Low-temperature plasma radiofrequency is a practical, minimally invasive, and accurate method for treating hemangiomas in the nasal cavity, pharynx, and larynx. For capillary hemangiomas, the strategy of ablation before resection may be an effective way to reduce bleeding, and for cavernous hemangiomas, the strategy of direct ablation is a simple and efficient method. The article explores how video-testimony can be effectively harnessed for education in various contexts: classroom, and public remembrance spaces including museums, in a localized manner to develop empathy, critical thinking, and civic engagement in students and the methodological culture of educators. The article focuses on the testimonies of the USC Shoah Foundation and the possibilities testimony-based materials offer for education in general and Holocaust education in particular, based on educational evaluation research results and decades of practice. Localization and student-engagement are approached through Hungarian case studies via the work of local educational NGO Zachor Foundation. The article argues for the importance of local contexts and localized educational materials and underscores the power of video testimonies as multimedia sources in delving into and dissecting historical, social, and psychological processes, revealing their intricate nuances and how they can be used by to educate youth toward a more informed and compassionate global citizenry. To manage the rising prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus, sustainable diabetes prevention programs are needed. In this study, a process evaluation was conducted to qualitatively understand perceived successes and challenges of a diabetes prevention program situated in the community. This study took place in the first year of a multiyear project. Semistructured interviews were conducted with a sample of women clients (n = 14) postprogram and trainers (n = 10) 9 months into program implementation. Interviews were audio-recoded, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using a Template Approach. Data were first analyzed deductively into two categories that aligned with the study's purpose (successes and challenges). Second, an inductive analysis was used to understand program delivery processes within each category. Clients and trainers expressed (a) program successes related to recruitment strategy, outlook on making behavior changes, and communication style used within the program and (b) program challenges surrounding effort of learning and applying the communication strategy, usefulness of program applications and tools, and program fit. This evaluation provides practical implications and future directions for diabetes prevention programs, and has informed tailoring and expansion of the program of focus. Results demonstrate the success of motivational interviewing from both client and trainer perspectives and the impact of community partnerships to increase prediabetes awareness in the community. Overall, the program's diabetes prevention and behavior change strategies coupled with a client-centered approach facilitated women clients in making diet and exercise modifications. An integrated medication management (IMM) model was implemented in a medical center ward to improve the delivery of clinical pharmaceutical services (CPSs). This model incorporated a ward-based clinical pharmacist who performed medication reconciliation and medication reviews. It was perceived to promote interprofessional collaboration between pharmacists and non-pharmacist healthcare professionals (NPHPs, including attending physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses). This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the IMM on NPHPs' intentions to collaborate with pharmacists and understand the mechanism of the impact of the IMM on interprofessional collaboration. A sequential explanatory mixed methods design was employed in the study. Initially, a questionnaire was administered to assess the effects of the IMM on NPHPs' intentions to collaborate with pharmacists. The NPHPs' experiences with the IMM were then documented using semi-structured interviews with inductive thematic analysis. Fifty-eight NPHPs completed the questionnaire, and NPHPs from the intervention ward reported a higher intention to discuss patient-related medication issues with pharmacists, indicating collaboration. Eleven NPHPs were interviewed, and they stated having better working relationships with pharmacists, experiencing more effective CPSs, and noting improved communication with pharmacists. The integration of quantitative and qualitative findings demonstrates that the critical mechanism of the IMM in promoting collaborative relationships is to integrate pharmacists into medical practice, which familiarizes NPHPs with pharmacists' roles, improves communication, and enables pharmacists to identify NPHPs' needs. To summarize, allowing ward-based pharmacists to engage in medical teams on a regular basis appears vital for improving interprofessional teamwork. This study addresses the need for practical engagement of student-teachers in real classroom environments to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, thereby cultivating a professional attitude and mindset through the School-Based Experience (SBE) program. The research focuses on evaluating how immersive, hands-on teaching experiences within the SBE framework contribute to the holistic professional development of student-teachers, preparing them to meet the demands and challenges of the teaching profession effectively. The aim is to motivate schools to actively support studentteachers in this transformative journey. Professionalism, characterized by a moral commitment to action and a professional attitude in interactions, demands a principled standard of practice. While higher education institutions bear the responsibility of instilling these values, collaborative efforts involving stakeholders, especially schools, are pivotal. The study adopts an Evaluation Research Approach to assess the effectiveness of the SBE program in developing a professional mindset. Randomly selecting five schools and ten studentteachers, along with two teachers and mentors from each school, the researchers conducted interviews to gauge contributions towards fostering a professional mindset during the SBE program. The findings underscore the importance of theoretical and empirical knowledge, emphasizing the need for reciprocal relationships within schools. Trustworthiness and adherence to principled standards emerge as critical components. The study, with a total of twenty participants, presents their responses as an evaluation research report, demonstrating the significance of the SBE program in shaping the attitudes and mindsets of future professionals. The aim of this study was to explore perceptions of members of the public and key stakeholders of a localised campaign to increase engagement with cervical cancer screening. Whilst numerous interventions have been trialled to increase engagement with cancer screening, the evidence for their effectiveness is somewhat mixed. In addition, few studies have explored the perceptions of members of the public targeted by such campaigns nor the perceptions of healthcare professionals who may be involved in delivering such campaigns in the United Kingdom. Members of the public who had potentially been exposed to the campaign in the North-East of England were approached to take part in individual interviews whilst stakeholders were invited to take part in a focus group. A total of 25 participants (13 members of the public, 12 stakeholders) took part. All interviews were audio recorded, transcribed verbatim and analysed using applied thematic analysis. Four themes were identified, two of which were cross-cutting (barriers to screening and factors promoting screening), with one theme identified as specific to the public interviews (knowledge of and attitudes toward awareness campaigns) and one theme specific to the focus group (keeping campaigns relevant. Awareness of the localised campaign was limited; however, when made aware, participants were mostly positive towards the approach, although mixed responses were noted in relation to financial incentives. Members of the public and stakeholders identified some common barriers to screening although differed in their perceptions of promotional factors. This study highlights the importance of multiple strategies to promote cervical screening as one size fits all approach may limit engagement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: With the purpose of supporting scientific professionals and helping them to better integrate the expertise of users in their work, a users' and relatives' panel (URP) was set up at the National Institute for Excellence in Health and Social Services in Quebec (INESSS), Canada for the social services and mental health directorate. URPs are advisory structures that mobilise the experiential knowledge of people affected by various issues. Objectives: The objective of this study is to assess from a diverse stakeholders' perceptions: (1) the experience of developing and implementing the URP within the context of an Agencies for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services (AHTAASS), (2) the contribution of such a URP, (3) the challenges encountered and (4) the perspectives of improvement for the following years. Methodology: We conducted a qualitative descriptive evaluation study. Nineteen interviews were conducted: six with URP members and 13 with staff representatives. The documents related to the creation of the panel, the URP minutes summarising the discussions and the reports published during that period were collected and analysed. Following a preliminary round of data analysis, a debriefing meeting was conducted with a few participants to validate the results. Results: The panel was set up as part of the INESSS' desire to better integrate experiential knowledge into its recommendations. Twelve projects were presented to the panel on various themes. The URP enabled health professionals to consider dimensions they had not identified, to better integrate the experiential data collected from users into their work and to develop recommendations that made more sense to users. Panel members and INESSS professionals learned to work together, moving the working methods from consultation to collaboration and even coconstruction. Based on the panel's significant contribution, the INESSS decided to maintain it and to strengthen its place in its system to better integrate the experiential knowledge of users into its work. Conclusion: This research illustrates how AHTAASS can set up a URP composed exclusively of users, and how it can contribute and be evaluated. It shows that URPs are structures that value the sharing of experiential knowledge of its members, humanise decision‐making and give meaning to the work done by scientific professionals. This study examines the narratives presented on Quarantine Stories, an online platform where users posted their home-quarantine experiences amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It investigates the recurrent themes in quarantine stories and how tellers constructed their lives in isolation. Quarantine stories submitted worldwide were examined via semantic tag and concordance analyses to identify their recurrent themes and narrative elements. The results reveal that digital storytelling allowed tellers and readers to form a community of shared support beyond spatiotemporal boundaries. Most quarantine stories were characterised by fragmentation and simultaneity, whereas others had Labovian narrative structures. The recurrent themes found (quarantine duration, favourite quarantine spots and self-healing) demonstrated how tellers used time stamps to create meaning. The present study contributes to social media research by suggesting the further categorisation of breaking stories into major and minor and by regarding self-reflection as a sub-type of evaluation. Purpose: To investigate potential reasons for the mismatch between laboratory/ clinic-based sentence-in-noise performance and real-world listening abilities, we recently developed a corpus of natural, spontaneously spoken speech with three vocal effort levels (Everyday Conversational Sentences in Noise [ECOSiN]). Here, we examined the feasibility of using the ECO-SiN corpus for adaptive speech-in-noise testing, which might be a desirable format in certain situations (e.g., during a clinical visit). Method: Ten young, normal-hearing adults, along with 20 older adults with hearing loss participated in the study. Speech reception thresholds (SRTs) were obtained using ECO-SiN sentences, which were systematically compared to the SRTs obtained using traditional Bamford-Kowal-Bench-like sentences. Results: Results demonstrated the properties of the test compared favorably with those of a standard test based on scripted and clearly spoken sentences. Moreover, whereas normal-hearing listeners received a benefit from an increase in vocal effort, the participants with hearing loss showed a disbenefit that increased with increasing hearing loss. Objectives: To describe the impact of Accountable Communities of Health (ACHs) on organizational and community partnerships and explore how ACHs contribute to systems change. Data Sources and Study Setting: The California Accountable Communities of Health Initiative (CACHI) was a 5‐year, $17 M investment in community health transformation in 13 ACH sites. Data sources include two surveys, key informant interviews, small group conversations, and ACH meeting observations and document review. Study Design: This was a mixed‐methods, observational study. Surveys conducted in 2021 and 2022 focused on ACH progress in building organizational and community partnerships and ACH impact on partners and systems, respectively. Interviews and small group conversations were conducted toward the end of the CACHI grant period and designed to complement the surveys. Data Collection: Survey respondents included ACH backbone agency staff and partner organization representatives (n = 141 in 2021 and 88 in 2022). Semistructured individual interviews and group conversations were conducted with 40 ACH backbone staff and partners. Documents were collected via grant reporting and directly from ACH staff. Data were analyzed descriptively and thematically. Principal Findings: ACHs appear to have supported organizational partnerships and collaboration. Seventy‐six percent of survey respondents reported that their ACH had strengthened organizations' ability to work together and 65% reported developing new or deepened connections. While ACH participants reported a better understanding of community needs and priorities, progress on community relationships, and greater attention to equity and racial justice, many saw room for improvement on meaningful community engagement. Systems changes and precursors of systems change observed across ACH sites included strengthened partnerships, enhanced knowledge, increased capacity, more collaborative ways of working, and new funding streams. Conclusions: The ACH model is effective at strengthening organizational partnerships and catalyzing other systems changes and precursors including enhanced knowledge, increased capacity, more collaborative ways of working, and new funding. With the advancement of urbanization, urban agglomerations have become a main carrier of China's development. As the ultimate stage of urban agglomeration, the realization of urban agglomeration integration (UAI) plays a dominant role in regional prosperity. Appropriate evaluation of UAI could monitor the integration level and guide its coordinated development. However, little attention has been paid to UAI evaluation research. To this end, this study proposes a comprehensive evaluation model to investigate UAI via the entropy method blended with TOPSIS. Furthermore, utilizing grey relational analysis (GRA), critical dimensions of UAI are also identified to provide concrete evidence. Finally, the proposed model is applied to evaluate the UAI of the Pearl River Delta (PRD), and the main results are as follows: (1) The development trend of the overall UAI in the PRD has increased in fluctuation during the research period, achieving a "good" degree; (2) Except for the policy measures integration (0.882), the integration values for other dimensions are in the range of 0.6 to 0.8 in 2020, reflecting a fairly high level; (3) The infrastructure integration has a major effect on UAI. Student feedback literacy has been the subject of much conceptual literature; however, relatively little intervention research has investigated how and if it can be developed. Further, no evaluation of the current empirical literature has been conducted to assess which elements of feedback literacy can be successfully improved in practice, and which elements need further investigation. This paper seeks to explore how different aspects of feedback literacy have been developed in higher education. A scoping review was conducted to address the foci, nature and success of interventions. The review found evidence that educational interventions enhanced feedback literacy in students, such as managing perceptions and attitudes, and having more confidence and agency in the feedback process. While some interventions have an effect on influencing student feedback literacy, both improved study design and intervention design are required to make the most of future feedback literacy interventions. The present study aims to evaluate the effect of the spaced learning method on the evaluation scores and education quality in the practical course of principles and techniques of nursing.In this quasi-experimental study, 51 nursing students in four semesters were selected by convenience sampling and randomly divided into experimental and control groups. We used the demographic characteristics form, student scores, and students’ evaluations of the educational quality questionnaire (SEEQ) for data gathering. In the next step, the classes of the experimental groups were held with the spaced learning method, and the traditional methods were used for the control groups. After the end of each semester, the SEEQ questionnaire was given to the students of both groups, and their evaluation scores were extracted. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 26 using descriptive and inferential statistics.After ensuring the independence of the data, the results showed that the difference in the mean evaluation score of the students in the two groups is not statistically significant (p > 0.05). However, the mean score of total SSEQ in the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group. Furthermore, except for the dimension of examination assignments and group interaction, the mean score of other SSEQ dimensions in the experimental group was statistically higher than the control group (p < 0.05).Spaced learning is an easy, low-cost, and fun learning method that affects the teaching method compared to evaluation results and effortlessly has the potential to become an appropriate alternative to traditional teaching methods. The study aimed to design a proposed study unit via interactive chat (an educational bot on Telegram) and to explore its effectiveness in understanding the concepts of developing awareness towards green consumption among third-grade intermediate female students at the school in Taif City. The study utilized the experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design – a one-group design. To achieve the study’s objectives, a study unit was designed according to the ADDIE model, in addition to developing pre-test and post-test, a teacher's guide, and a student's book. After confirming the validity and reliability of the study tools, they were applied to a sample of 44 female students from the third grade of the Fifty-first intermediate school in Taif City. The study employed a set of statistical methods including (arithmetical means, standard deviations, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, Spearman-Brown stability coefficient, Point-biserial correlation coefficient, T-test for two correlated samples, and effect size calculator (Cohen's D)). The study results showed that there was a statistically significant difference at (a ≤ 0.01) between the mean scores of the pre-test and post-test in all concepts of green consumption in favor of the post-test measurement. According to the results, the study recommended urging the curriculum developers at the Ministry of Education to "Adopt the concepts of green consumption and the relevant modern technologies required to teach it and make use of the suggested study unit ―I am a green consumer with the curricula for intermediate schools. Also, benefiting from the educational bot on the Telegram application and promoting it through social media. Moreover, preparing teachers’ guides for teaching the concepts of sustainable development to intermediate students that accurately design the lessons of green consumption concepts, creating an appropriate educational environment within schools that allows students to practice green consumption. Although the fictional domain exhibits a prima facie freedom from real-world moral constraints, certain fictive imaginings seem to deserve moral criticism. Capturing both intuitions, this paper argues for double-standard moralism, the view that fictive imaginings are subject to different moral standards than their real-world counterparts. I show how no account has, thus far, offered compelling reasons to warrant the moral appropriateness of this discrepancy. I maintain that the normative discontinuity between fiction and the actual world is moderate, as opposed to one that leaves fictive engagements wholly exempt from moral evaluations. I propose a way of addressing the gamer's dilemma that is compatible with a moderate kind of discontinuity. Finally, I contend that the audience is justified in adopting deviant moral attitudes in fictional situations because their consequences largely differ from those that analogous real-world events would have. Background: Hand hygiene and its significance for reducing the spread of infection is well evidenced and has been brought into sharp focus following the COVID-19 pandemic. Although a crucial clinical skill in ensuring safe healthcare, little is known regarding nursing students' effectiveness of hand hygiene practice. Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of an educational intervention on hand hygiene practice, designed by the research team for first year pre-registration nursing students. Particular emphasis was placed upon hand drying technique and time. Methodology: 825 nursing students were observed and assessed for their hand hygiene practice in a clinical suite at a university setting. Nursing students were observed for compliance against set outcome measures involving hand hygiene preparation, hand and wrist washing technique, hand drying technique and time. Data were analysed quantitatively using SPSS. Results: The educational intervention had a significant impact on the clinical skills learning of nursing students. 779 students passed the assessment at the first attempt (94.4%). Of the 46 students that failed to meet the necessary criteria, 45 satisfied the criteria at the second attempt; giving an overall optimal compliance of 99.9%. 99.6% of students complied with recommended hand drying standards. Conclusion: This study offers an important contribution to the development and delivery of nursing education programmes. The educational intervention improved compliance with recommended hand hygiene technique and practice. Lack of attention to hand drying may negate effective hand hygiene in healthcare. We examined trends and differences in home help (HH) use between 1999 and 2017 regarding living arrangements, gender, income and disability levels relating to the changes in Japan's long‐term care policy. HH is the help provided for activities of daily living to older adults with disabilities. We classified it into four types: only informal, informal and formal, only formal and neither and measured perceived adequacy of HH received by participants. We used five waves of repeated cross‐sectional data from 1999 to 2017 to examine trends using generalised estimation equations. The use of both informal and formal HH increased until 2006 and then gradually decreased but remained higher than in 1999. High perceived adequacy of HH received remained stable between 1999 and 2017. For participants living alone, the rate of using both informal and formal HH increased after 2002; high perceived adequacy of HH received increased until 2006, subsequently remaining steady. This research aims to evaluate, analyze, and describe how the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) "Berkat" are managed in Tulap Village, Kombi District. In this research the author used a qualitative research approach with the research object namely the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) "Berkat" Tulap Village, Kombi District. The focus of this research is the evaluation of the "Berkat" Village-Owned Enterprise in Supporting the economic development of Tulap Village, Kombi District with sub-focus: evaluation of planning, implementation, and supervision. The results of the research show that 1) The planning stage for managing business activities at BUMDes "Berkat" in Tulap Village has not been implemented properly, thus affecting the process of implementing business activities so that it has not been able to have a significant impact on economic development in Tulap Village; 2) The implementation of each business activity at the BUMDes "Berkat" Tulap Village has not been optimal, so that the stated goal of establishing the BUMDes "Berkat" Tulap Village cannot be achieved due to the lack of ability and knowledge of the BUMDes management in carrying out each business activity; 3) It is certain that supervision of BUMDes "Berkat" in Tulap Village is not going well. This is due to a lack of knowledge from the supervisors appointed by the government and also a lack of attention from the relevant agencies regarding the management of BUMDes so that the process of achieving goals cannot run well. Objective: We describe the process and outcomes of developing continuous quality improvement (CQI) procedures for a multiyear, multimillion‐dollar healthy marriage and responsible fatherhood (HMRF) relationship enhancement education program. We present lessons learned, including adaptations used to move all programming online due to the COVID‐19 pandemic. Background: Continuous quality improvement (CQI) is a set of best practices that are often neglected in outreach programming due to challenges associated with funding, available expertise, and fear of underwhelming results. However, this practice provides valuable insight and benefits to programs and participants and can be implemented without interrupting program delivery. Method: We developed a "living" CQI plan over the course of 5 years using three sources of data to track, evaluate, and inform CQI high‐performance decision‐making: program data, fidelity data, and outcome data. Results: A sample of the preliminary descriptive quantitative results is presented including program registrations and show rates, facilitator effectiveness scores, intervention outcomes, and participant responses to online delivery to illustrate how the three types of data collected are used in the SMART Couples Project to support CQI efforts. Conclusions and Implications: Our study demonstrates the benefits of using CQI as a powerful tool for program improvement, with staff and participants alike. It is the nature of the CQI process to be amenable to changes, including unforeseen disruptions in program delivery. The majority of the projects funded under the European Research Framework Programme (FP) require a collaborative effort in order to tackle complex societal challenges. The underlying assumption is that collaborative networks boost research productivity and the attainment of the goals set out by the European Commission's agenda. In general, the production of scientific knowledge increasingly takes place within networks and consortia with a wide diversity and interlinkages of disciplines, expertise, backgrounds and approaches. This relational dimension has become even more important in the Horizon Europe FP, which has moved from a project-focused to a mission-oriented approach whereby a portfolio of projects is managed in coordination in order to stimulate cross-learning and experimentation. Starting from key concepts and theories of evaluation research, including ten years of experience for the Italian National Research Council (CNR) team as an internal evaluator, we are proposing a new approach, namely a Relations-based Evaluation (RE) approach, that analyses, assesses and builds relationships, both internal and external, with the ultimate aim of supporting collaborative research and innovation (R&I) projects. The framework originated within the context of EU projects and deals with the specific case of consortia funded under the EU FPs. Producing science that supports the physical therapist profession in all its endeavors is critical to ensure that the best evidence is used in practice and education. In this Perspective, numerous conundrums are discussed that can constrain efforts to be productive in research in the academic institutions that serve as the intellectual centers of the discipline. Taken together, these conundrums and the conditions that create them collectively contribute to the wicked problem of how to generate sufficient evidence to support the practice of physical therapy. In response, this Perspective recommends changes in the Standards and Elements of the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education to support the importance of faculty research, reconfigure the rules for faculty composition, and introduce a new metric of productivity that reinforces the need of all programs to produce evidence for the profession, while still allowing flexibility and institutional prerogative to govern how this need is expressed. In order to realize the scientific evaluation of coal mine safety risks, the coal mine safety accident report is used as the data sample, and grounded theory is used to explore the causes of coal mine safety risks. At the same time, combined with the existing research results, a coal mine safety risk evaluation index system is constructed. Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) is used to optimize the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to determine the index weights. Then, a coal mine safety risk assessment model based on the AHP-MCS coupling technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is established by combining TOPSIS. Taking Lingquan Coal Mine as an example, the applicability of the model is verified. The research results show that the coal mine safety risk level is orange risk, which is consistent with the actual situation. Background: A robust evidence base is required to assist healthcare commissioners and providers in selecting effective and sustainable approaches to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment. Such evidence can be difficult to build, given the fast-paced and highly pressured nature of healthcare delivery, the absence of incentives, and the presence of barriers in conducting pragmatic yet robust research evaluations. Cancer Research UK (CRUK) has played an active part in building the evidence base through its funding of programmes to identify, evaluate and scale-up innovative approaches across the UK. The aim of this paper is to describe and explain the research design and intended approach and activities for two cancer services improvement projects in Scotland funded by CRUK. Methods: A hybrid effectiveness-implementation study design will assess both the efficiency of the new pathways and their implementation strategies, with the aim of generating knowledge for scale-up. A range of implementation, service and clinical outcomes will be assessed as determined by the projects' Theories of Change (ToCs). A naturalistic case study approach will enable in-depth exploration of context and process, and the collection and synthesis of data from multiple sources including routine datasets, patient and staff surveys, in-depth interviews and observational and other data. The evaluations are informed throughout by a patient/public representatives' group, and by small group discussions with volunteer cancer patients. Discussion: Our approach has been designed to provide a holistic understanding of how (well) the improvement projects work (in relation to their anticipated outcomes), and how they interact with their wider contexts. The evaluations will help identify barriers, facilitators, and unanticipated consequences that can impact scalability, sustainability and spread. By opting for a pragmatic, participatory evaluation research design, we hope to inform strategies for scaling up successful innovations while addressing challenges in a targeted manner. Objectives: Alzheimer's disease (AD) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) are often accompanied by neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS; e.g. depression/apathy/irritability) causing challenges for people living with dementia/caregivers and predicting worse disease progression. Accurately assessing NPS is critical to research on AD/MCI. However, there are limitations to both self-reports and clinician evaluations; the field often relies on informants to assess NPS. Informants' perception of NPS are influenced by disease and caregiver factors that may lead to biased assessments. We aimed to assess the relationship between participants self-reported affective states (valence/arousal) and informant-reported NPS. Methods: Data from a double-blinded intervention design (primarily testing neurostimulation's effect on NPS) were used to examine the relationship between participant-reported affective states and informant-reported NPS over 1 month. Forty participants (24 females) with MCI and NPS (mean age = 71.7, SD = 7) were enrolled along with informants (primarily spouses/partners) who regularly interact with participants. NPS assessment occurred weekly and at pre- and post-intervention, and participant-reported affective states were assessed at 14 timepoints. Results: Generalized Estimating Equations showed that participant levels of arousal, but not valence, were significantly related to corresponding informant-reported NPS at weekly (arousal: B= −0.59, SE = 0.27, Wald's χ2 = 4.61, p=.032; valence: B = 0.17, SE = 0.19, Wald's χ2 = 0.80, p=.37) and pre-/post- (arousal: B= −4.00, SE = 1.58, Wald's χ2 = 6.42, p=.011; valence: B= −3.34, SE = 1.80, Wald's χ2 = 3.43, p=.06) assessments. Conclusion: The findings indicate that informant-reported NPS may be more strongly influenced by arousal, and informants may be less attuned to valence in people living with MCI. Background: Due to the increasing burden of life-limiting illnesses, the need for palliative care has increased. Nurses' palliative care competence is a vital factor in improving its accessibility. A reliable instrument is needed to measure nurses' competence in providing palliative care. Objective: Our aim was to translate and culturally adapt the Palliative Care Nursing Self-Competence Scale (PCNSC) into the Palliative Care Nursing Self-Competence Scale–Simplified Chinese (PCNSC-SC). Methods: Two cross-sectional studies were conducted after content validity had been confirmed during the instrument's translation and adaption. The convergent validity, construct validity, internal consistency, and homogeneity were evaluated in both the first and second studies. Test-retest reliability was assessed only in the first study. Clinical nurses who had a registered nurse qualification certificate and at least 12 months of work experience from a tertiary hospital in Hubei, China participated in the 2 studies. Results: The PCNSC-SC contains 8 dimensions and 34 items, based on goodness-of-fit indices and confirmatory factor analysis. The Cronbach's alpha of the PCNSC-SC was.984 and.990 in the 2 studies, respectively. The test-retest reliability of the PCNSC-SC after 2 weeks was.717. The high reliability demand of the machining center emphasizes the accuracy of the fault risk evaluation. In the traditional fault risk evaluation research of the machining center, the influence of fault mode is mostly based on subjective recommendation or does not consider the propagation and diffusion of fault, which makes the risk evaluation results different from the real situation. Therefore, this paper presents a framework to evaluate the fault risk for machining center components. A certain type of machining center is considered as a case study. The fault mode frequency ratio of components is calculated by fault mode analysis. The fault rate calculation is conducted based on the Johnson method. Considering that different fault modes have different influences on fault propagation breadth and depth, the hypergraph theory is used to build a hypernetwork model. The propagation and diffusion influence degree are defined to describe the propagation and diffusion process of faults. Then, the comprehensive influence degree of fault mode is calculated. The risk evaluation is realized by considering the component fault rate, fault mode frequency ratio, and the comprehensive influence degree of fault mode. This study investigated the effect of gender stereotypes on (a) a soccer learning task based on accuracy (i.e., shooting on different size targets) among young adolescents and (b) the strategy used to score as many points as possible. After performing 10 baseline trials, 45 young adolescents were randomly divided into three groups: positive stereotype, negative stereotype, and control. Then, they performed five blocks of 10 trials and two retention tests, 1 and 3 days after the stereotype manipulation to assess the relatively permanent consequences of stereotype effects. Results showed that when the negative stereotype was induced, participants performed worse during the acquisition phase and the first retention test. The positive stereotype only had a positive effect on performance during the second retention test. These findings provide the first evidence of the effect of gender stereotypes on motor learning tasks requiring accuracy among young adolescents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Jefferson Teamwork Observation Guide® (JTOG®), a multi-source tool to formatively assess interprofessional collaborative practice competencies, evolved from a need to teach learners the characteristics of high functioning teams. Over time, researchers developed and refined four versions of the tool – Team, Individual, Patient and Support Person – eliciting feedback from learners, providers, patients and family members to create 360-degree evaluations of team performance. Development of all four versions of the JTOG into a native mobile application facilitated workplace based assessment, enhancing the ability to collect real-time data, gather responses from a variety of stakeholders and provide timely feedback to practice teams and individuals. Several studies have found the JTOG to be feasible to administer in both educational and practice settings across all user groups. Data also suggest the tool is a valid measure of team performance and individual performance on teams. However, scores that trended high indicate the need for continued psychometric work and high demand for the tool highlights the importance of a more robust database and dynamic analytic support. Three main conclusions have emerged from our experience with the JTOG: there is a clear need for a competency-based assessment tool to assist educators and clinicians in improving team functioning; incorporating technology into assessment may help bridge the persistent gap between educational innovation in IPE and organizational change in practice; and an assessment strategy incorporating the voices of the patient and family is highly valued by key stakeholders and has the potential to influence patient experience. Assessment of interprofessional education (IPE) frequently focuses on students' learning outcomes including changes in knowledge, skills, and/or attitudes. While a foundational education in the values and information of their chosen profession is critical, interprofessional learning follows a continuum from formal education to practice. The continuum increases in significance and complexity as learning becomes more relationship based and dependent upon the ability to navigate complex interactions with patients, families, communities, co-workers, and others. Integrating IPE into collaborative practice is critical to enhancing students' experiential learning, developing teamwork competencies, and understanding the complexity of teams. This article describes a project that linked students with a hospital-based quality-improvement effort to focus on the acquisition and practice of teamwork skills and to determine the impact of teamwork on patient and quality outcome measures. A hospital unit was identified with an opportunity for improvement related to quality care, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and team behaviours. One hundred and thirty-seven students from six health profession colleges at the Medical University of South Carolina underwent TeamSTEPPS® training and demonstrated proficiency of their teamwork-rating skills with the TeamSTEPPS® Team Performance Observation Tool (T-TPO). Students observed real-time team behaviours of unit staff before and after staff attended formal TeamSTEPPS® training. The students collected a total of 778 observations using the T-TPO. Teamwork performance on the unit improved significantly across all T-TPO domains (team structure, communication, leadership, situation monitoring, and mutual support). Significant improvement in each domain continued post-intervention and at 15-month follow-up, improvement remained significant compared to baseline. Student engagement in TeamSTEPPS® training and demonstration of their reliability as teamwork-observers was a valuable learning experience and also yielded an opportunity to gather unique, and otherwise difficult to attain, data from a hospital unit for use by quality managers and administrators. This study assessed the effectiveness of a learning module we developed for planning students aimed to enhance their understanding for design issues in public spaces faced by wheelchair users. The module involves training of students to effectively navigate the environment in a wheelchair before they experience the real outdoor spaces. Through this evaluation study, we also attempted to add clarity to the problems observed from empirical studies about these 'try-it-yourself' exercises, such as potential stigmatisation and ableism. We employed a mixed-method study approach consisting of wheelchair skill tests, 'walkabout' audits, and a focus group, with 28 second-year undergraduate urban planning students. The cross-over design of the study involving two components of the module – (wheelchair) Skill Learning Experience (SLE) and Real-World Experience (RWE) – allowed us to assess the effect of the former on the performance of the latter and the module overall. The focus group also asked students' perspectives about the module. Our findings suggest that the wheelchair skills training component likely contributed to a more nuanced and comprehensive understanding of design problems, while also fostering respect for wheelchair users. We believe that careful implementation is key to addressing potential negative consequences while optimising the benefit of experiential exercises. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Adults with intellectual disabilities often display behaviour that challenges that is a result of biological differences, psychological challenges, and lack of appropriate social support. Intensive Support Teams (IST) are recommended to support the care needs of this group and avoid hospitalisation. However, little attention has been paid to the perspectives of stakeholders who manage, work in, or use ISTs. Method: Interviews and focus groups were conducted with 50 stakeholders (IST service managers and professionals, adults with intellectual disabilities, and family and paid carers) of ISTs. Services operated according to one of two service models previously identified in ISTs in England (enhanced or independent). Results: Thematic analysis identified accessible and flexible support, individualised care, and the involvement of carers and other relevant agencies in management plans and reviews as features of good IST care highlighted by all stakeholder groups. IST managers and professionals described the key challenges of current IST provision as unclear referral criteria, limited interfaces with other local services, and perceived threats associated with funding and staff retention. Findings were similar between the two IST models. Conclusions: ISTs are able to offer care and specialist support that is valued by families, service users and other care providers. However, they face several operational challenges that should be addressed if ISTs are to reach their potential along with community intellectual disability services in supporting adults with intellectual disabilities who display behaviour that challenges in the community. Background: Development of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) is associated with increased morbidity, mortality, hospital length of stay, and overall health care costs. Objectives: The purpose of this project was to evaluate a clinical practice change--the addition of high-dose statin therapy to standard renal protection measures--in adults undergoing acute cardiac catheterization procedures and assessing its effect on CI-AKI. Method: The evaluation was a pretest/posttest descriptive design. Adult patients undergoing acute cardiac catheterization procedures were evaluated for the rate of CI-AKI before (10 months preimplementation, N = 283) and after (10 months postimplementation, N = 286) a recent practice change that added high-dose statin therapy (within 24 hours of dye exposure) to a standard renal protection bundle (intravenous fluids, maximum dye calculations, and avoidance of nephrotoxic medications). Outcomes included the rate of CI-AKI, stage of acute kidney injury, need for new hemodialysis, discharge disposition (alive or died in the hospital), and hospital length of stay. Results: Patients in the postintervention group that received renal protection bundle with high-dose statin had significantly lower incidence of CI-AKI (10.1% pre vs 3.2% post; P < .001). There were no significant differences in hospital length of stay, need for new hemodialysis, or mortality. Administration of high-dose statin within 24 hours of the cardiac catheterization procedure improved significantly (19.4%pre vs 74.1%post; P < .001). Adherence to all 5 components of the renal bundle improved post intervention (17% pre vs 73.4% post; P < .001). Discussion: The addition of a high-dose statin in addition to existing renal protective measures in patients with acute cardiac procedures is associated with a decreased incidence of CI-AKI. The teaching and learning of mathematical modelling involve engagement in real-world situations and the mathematization of such situations. In this study, the communication between teachers and students in 13 lessons (0.75–1.5 hours each) in two Norwegian upper secondary classrooms is observed and recorded to explore how modelling is communicated and to evaluate the students' agency in different episodes. Episodes in which a student takes initiative are analysed through the lens of positioning theory. An analytic tool is developed to explore the implementation of mathematical modelling in day-to-day activities by identifying the positioning and storylines of the speech/act in classroom episodes. It is found that the teacher facilitates students' agency using everyday experiences when critiquing mathematical models. There are no possibilities found for students' agency in the process of formulating a mathematical model. In these episodes, the storyline of mathematical modelling is one of finding the correct answer using given procedures, rather than engaging in real-world situations and making choices in the mathematization of such situations. Sex therapy patients report high rates of childhood interpersonal trauma (CIT) and insecure attachment, which may negatively influence the quality of their alliance with the therapist. Poor therapeutic alliance is associated with weaker progress during treatment. However, the effect of CIT, attachment and alliance on progress in therapy has not yet been documented in patients consulting for sexual difficulties. With a pre and post-test design, a total of 74 adults (39 women; 35 men) seeking sex therapy completed questionnaires assessing CIT, attachment representations, and therapeutic alliance. The main outcome measure was evolution of sexual satisfaction over the course of therapy. Results showed that, on average, patients experienced an improvement in their sexual satisfaction. Patients showing the largest improvement reported less attachment anxiety and higher levels of therapeutic alliance at pre-test. Furthermore, although participants reporting four or more types of CIT showed lower sexual satisfaction at pre-test, they reached a level similar to patients with less CIT at post-test, and thus, they demonstrated the greatest level of improvement. These findings support the beneficial effect of sex therapy for patients with a CIT history, and that, with a strong therapeutic relationship and attachment, all patients can develop a more positive and enjoyable sexuality. The study determined the effects of online continuing medical education (CME) on the clinical competency, performance, and patient outcomes of physicians and other healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic regarding the topics of COVID-19 and back pain. Survey studies on six online CME activities were conducted from April 2020 to February 2021 at a South Korean hospital. Surveys were conducted immediately after and three months after the CME activity to measure the effectiveness of the CME activity regarding professional competence and performance, as well as patient outcomes. A total of 624 individuals participated in the six CME activities. Of the 2007 post-activity responses, a total of 1135 out of 1332 (85.21%) participants indicated that they were satisfied with the online education activities, and a total of 1752 out of 2007 (87.29%) participants responded that the content would influence their clinical practice. Upon a three-month follow-up, 477 out of 611 (78.07%) respondents indicated that they had made actual changes to their clinical practice. The online delivery method is effective for delivering CME. The results suggest that online CME ultimately influences physicians' clinical competency and performance, which leads to enforcing change in clinical practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Writing is central to PhD work, though often a source of challenge, given the dissertation is the basis for the award of the degree. Universities may offer writing workshops, but these frequently take a remedial, skills-based approach: writing as something to fix rather than a developmental life-learning process of gaining confidence and fluency as a writer. In this study, we report the design of an eight-month writing program premised on a developmental approach and the longitudinal assessment of participants’ journeys. Participants incorporated many elements of the developmental approach, including goal setting and review, metacognitive talk about their writing, valuing others’ perspectives, and viewing writing challenges as shared. Most, but not all, developed a broader understanding of learning to write as an exploratory learning process. Finally, the data collection and analysis structure proved productive, not just for the inquiry, but also formatively during the program – both for the participants and facilitators. The development of technology has various effects on citizens' daily lives, among which is the growing importance of e-governance. An e-government website is an essential communication platform that supports government-citizen interaction. The current research examines the relationship between e-government website evaluation and the variables indicative of the usage of e-government services (user satisfaction and intention to use) with basic social perceptions toward the government as the mediators using structural equation modelling. According to the stereotype content model (Fiske, 1993; Fiske et al., 2002), people form an impression of others based on two basic social dimensions (warmth and competence), and different levels of these dimensions determine how one forms attitudes and behaves toward the target. Our analysis confirms that both warmth and competence judgment function as crucial mediators for the relationship between e-government website evaluation and the intention to utilize e-government websites. This suggests that the government agency is not simply viewed as a service provider but also as a social entity that encompasses both warmth and competence from the perspective of citizens. By observing the aspects of website evaluation that are associated with the social dimensions, policymakers can strategically enhance citizens' perception toward the government as well as their relationship with the government for the optimal operation of a country in a long-term perspective. Inclusive spaces and relationships that honor athletes' unique identities are vital to ensure adaptive sport experiences (e.g., Coakley; Kochanek & Erickson). Youth athletes and adult leaders need to possess awareness and skills to foster inclusive sport environments and act as agents who can contribute to positive individual and social change. The prevalence and increased visibility of contemporary social justice issues have underscored the importance of developing such critical competencies. Scholars have recently called for exploratory and collaborative efforts to help athletes and adult leaders develop such critical competencies and carry out evaluation research that examines the effectiveness of programs. The purpose of this utilization-focused evaluation was to assess the impact and relevant processes of a social justice education initiative, Dialogue in Athletics, which used intergroup dialogue pedagogy. The lead author (and program facilitator-facilitator-evaluator) delivered and assessed the effectiveness of Dialogue in Athletics within one interscholastic sports community. A mixed methods convergent evaluation design was used to collect data at the session-specific, pre/post-program, and follow-up time points. Integrated analyses of data from student-athletes (n = 7) and adult leaders (n = 13) revealed that adults showed more marked increases in critical awareness and skills development/transference relative to student-athletes who showed some, though less pronounced, gains following the program. Results revealed favorable shifts in participants' attitudes, with some variation between athletes and adults. Findings on participants' program process helped elucidate meaningful aspects of their dialogue experience alongside various sources of discomfort, and barriers to learning transference. This evaluation assessed the effectiveness of Dialogue in Athletics, a social justice education program, among athletes and adult leaders within one interscholastic sports community. Results offer initial support for favorable changes in participants' learning outcomes and relevant program processes. Findings have implications for future program delivery and youth development through sport. This formative evaluation lends support for the effectiveness and feasibility of an intergroup dialogue approach to social justice education within the youth sport context. This unique utilization-focused project exemplifies a contextually relevant approach to research that responds to the practical realities of youth sport communities. Additional community-based efforts that use intergroup dialogue (and other frameworks) to help youth and adult leaders in sport develop critical capacities are necessary to build an understanding of social justice behavior change among diverse individuals and sport community settings. Good and homogenous udder morphology of dairy ewes is desirable for good milkability, udder health and animal welfare, especially if machine milking is in use. We evaluated the udder morphology and milkability of 286 ewes of eight genotypes (Tsigai, Improved Valachian, Lacaune breeds and 5 types of their crosses). The aim was to obtain an overview of the most important parameters to be evaluated for breeding dairy sheep breeds. The following traits were evaluated on a 9-point linear scale: udder depth, cistern depth, teat position, teat size, udder cleft, udder attachment and general udder shape. Selected parameters that characterise the milk yield and milkability of ewes were also recorded in individual control measurements: amount of machine milked in 30 and 60 seconds, machine milk yield, machine stripping, total milk yield and percentage thereof. Linear evaluation and precise udder measurements showed that Tsigai and Improved Valachian ewes had smaller udders with smaller cisterns and a better teat position than Lacaune ewes. The proportion of machine stripping (PMS) was best (lowest value) in the Improved Valachian ewes (26.0%) among the purebred breeds, followed by the Tsigai ewes (27.2%), and it was found to be highest in the purebred Lacaune ewes (36.3%). PMS was significantly influenced by teat size (r = 0.177 and 0.113, respectively; P < 0.001), udder attachment (r = -0.205; P < 0.001) and general udder shape (r = -0141; P < 0.001). From the study, it could be concluded that in Slovakia it will be necessary to additionally use data from linear udder evaluation (mainly udder depth, teat position, teat size and udder attachment) for breeding of dairy sheep breeds. Older people are marginalized in different ways. Examples include social exclusion and stereotypes such as “the lonely and technologically incompetent elderly”. But in the digital age, opportunities for digital empowerment exist alongside marginalization problems: Innovative technical research and development projects are exploring whether and how robots and avatars can help promote social connectedness and inclusion among older people. One of such initiatives is the CO-HUMANICS project. This paper presents the results of an interview study with women and men over 60 years of age. Older people showed heterogeneous attitudes towards robotic-assisted and avatar-assisted interpersonal communication as it will be enabled by the technology developed in the CO-HUMANICS project. Simultaneously, it seeks to meticulously design a comprehensive indicator system custom-tailored to this unique milieu. The dual objective encompasses unraveling the intricate dynamics underpinning the evaluation of talented people in S&T fields and invigorating talent cultivation and igniting innovation in scientific research across the academic landscape. [Method/Process] Guided by a meticulous review of both domestic and international advancements in the domain of the evaluation of talented people in S&T fields in higher education, this paper diligently dissects the intricate interplay of systems, theories, methodologies, and evaluation frameworks within Chinese academic institutions. By meticulously addressing associated challenges, conducting extensive discourse on influential variables, and meticulously examining facets of S&T prowess assessment within universities, this study culminates in the construction of an evaluation indicator system tailored to the unique nature of institutions of Chinese higher education. [Results/Conclusions] The findings echo the existence of critical gaps in the ongoing evaluation of talented people in S&T fields within Chinese universities. These noteworthy limitations encapsulate the intricate equilibrium sought between objectivity and subjectivity, the imperative for indicators to be comprehensive yet operationally feasible, the mandate for assessment to be dynamic and timely, and the essentiality of embracing multi-dimensional evaluation. This compels us to chart a trajectory towards the future where the development of an evaluation system of talented people in S&T fields rests on the bedrock of data-driven and intelligent assessment paradigms. This envisioned system must incorporate multi-dimensional evaluation approaches, integrate behavioral assessment modalities, deploy dynamic evaluation mechanisms, and, equally, factor in dimensions of social influence, sustainability, and internationalization. As we navigate this academic journey, further empirical research and meticulous indicator validation exercises must be undertaken within the realm of the evaluation of talented people in S&T fields in Chinese higher education institutions.
