Background: Changes in lifestyle and dietary habits that hunter‐gatherer populations have undergone in recent decades have often led to rising obesity rates with disastrous consequences for their health. Objectives: The associations between dietary habits and weight status were studied in 238 "Ju/'hoansi" San (93 women and 145 men) aged between 18 and 65 years in northern Namibia in 1987. Weight status was estimated based on the World Health Organization body mass index (BMI) categories, and dietary habits were recorded using food recall methods. Anthropometrics and weight status were compared with those of a sex‐ and age‐matched sample of "Ju/'hoansi" San people collected by Nancy Howell in 1968/69. Results: Body weight had increased significantly among "Ju/'hoansi" San people from 1968/69 to 1987. The number of underweight people decreased from 1968/69 to 1987. In 1987, most participants (60.9%) were of normal weight. Overweight was found in 1.3% of the women, but not among men. No participants were obese. Less than 4% of the women and less than 2% of the men consumed exclusively traditional hunter‐gatherer food. Westernized food products were significantly (p < 0.001) more common among men and younger people. Dietary patterns were significantly associated with weight status. The less traditional the diet, the higher the BMI (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The transition to domestic agricultural and westernized foods was positively associated with increasing BMI. Over the last two decades, awe has attracted the attention of an increasing number of researchers. The use of virtual reality has been identified as one of the most effective techniques for eliciting awe, in addition to more personalized methods for inducing emotion, such as autobiographical recall. However, previous measures of awe were unable to uncover the hidden structure of this experience. Awe experience scale (AWE-S) has been validated as a comprehensive measure of contingent awe in English, providing new opportunities for analysis. In this two-phases study, we investigated whether the latent structure of the experience of awe evoked by the autobiographical recall technique (Study 1) overlapped with that induced by exposing participants to a validated virtual reality awe-eliciting training (Study 2). The original English AWE-S structure held both in autobiographical recall induction and virtual reality-based elicitation. Despite evidence of overlap between English and Italian structures, low correlations were found between Italian trait measures used to test the concurrent validity of the AWE-S in the Italian sample and AWE-S state dimensions. This study highlights cultural differences in awe experience, trait, and state variations, and provides new insights into the standardized induction of this emotion through simulated environments. Later chronotypes may be associated with lower diet quality and later timing of energy intake in paediatric age. Period of data collection of these variables may affect these parameters and inter-relationship. We aimed to assess the cross-sectional association of chronotype with a diet quality score (HEI) and caloric midpoint (time of achieving 50% of total daily energy intake), considering summer holidays, using data from the National Food, Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey 2015–2016 for 578 participants (6–14 years of age). Chronotype was estimated by the midpoint of sleep and categorized as Early, Intermediate and Late, using physical activity diaries, while outcomes using two food diaries/24 h recalls. Associations of chronotype with outcomes were assessed by linear regressions adjusted for sex, age, parental education (model 1), BMI, sports practice (model 2), and summer holidays (no/yes) (model 3). In model 2, a Late vs. Early chronotype was negatively associated with HEI ($\widehat {{\rm{\beta }}}$ β ˆ = −0.74; 95% CI: −1.47, −0.07) and positively with caloric midpoint ($\widehat {{\rm{\beta }}}$ β ˆ = 0.35; 95% CI: 0.02, 0.69). However, associations lost significance in model 3. The association between chronotype and dietary habits may be benefit from being studied considering school terms and summer holidays. In the food domain, text mining techniques are extensively employed to derive valuable insights from large volumes of text data, facilitating applications such as aiding food recalls, offering personalized recipes, and reinforcing food safety regulation. To provide researchers and practitioners with a comprehensive understanding of the latest technology and application scenarios of text mining in the food domain, the pertinent literature is reviewed and analyzed. Initially, the fundamental concepts, principles, and primary tasks of text mining, encompassing text categorization, sentiment analysis, and entity recognition, are elucidated. Subsequently, an analysis of diverse types of data sources within the food domain and the characteristics of text data mining is conducted, spanning social media, reviews, recipe websites, and food safety reports. Furthermore, the applications of text mining in the food domain are scrutinized from the perspective of various scenarios, including leveraging consumer food reviews and feedback to enhance product quality, providing personalized recipe recommendations based on user preferences and dietary requirements, and employing text mining for food safety and fraud monitoring. Lastly, the opportunities and challenges associated with the adoption of text mining techniques in the food domain are summarized and evaluated. In conclusion, text mining holds considerable potential for application in the food domain, thereby propelling the advancement of the food industry and upholding food safety standards. This study proposes a deep learning method for pavement defect detection, focusing on identifying potholes and cracks. A dataset comprising 10,828 images is collected, with 8662 allocated for training, 1083 for validation, and 1083 for testing. Vehicle attitude data are categorized based on three-axis acceleration and attitude change, with 6656 (64%) for training, 1664 (16%) for validation, and 2080 (20%) for testing. The Nvidia Jetson Nano serves as the vehicle-embedded system, transmitting IMU-acquired vehicle data and GoPro-captured images over a 5G network to the server. The server recognizes two damage categories, low-risk and high-risk, storing results in MongoDB. Severe damage triggers immediate alerts to maintenance personnel, while less severe issues are recorded for scheduled maintenance. The method selects YOLOv7 among various object detection models for pavement defect detection, achieving a mAP of 93.3%, a recall rate of 87.8%, a precision of 93.2%, and a processing speed of 30–40 FPS. Bi-LSTM is then chosen for vehicle vibration data processing, yielding 77% mAP, 94.9% recall rate, and 89.8% precision. Integration of the visual and vibration results, along with vehicle speed and travel distance, results in a final recall rate of 90.2% and precision of 83.7% after field testing. Background: Adolescents' diets have been overlooked in nutrition information systems, interventions, and policies. The minimum dietary diversity for women (MDD-W) indicator has been validated to signal greater micronutrient adequacy among nonpregnant women from lowand middle-income countries, but there is limited evidence for valid food group thresholds among boys or nonpregnant nonlactating girls. Objective: To define a food group threshold that reflects minimum dietary diversity for adolescents. Methods: This multicountry study evaluated the test characteristics of a 10-point food group diversity score (FGDS)--underlying MDD-W--and food group thresholds to predict the micronutrient adequacy of diets from single 24-h recalls or food diaries (24-HRs) among 83,935 adolescents aged 10-19 y and repeated 24-HRs among 75,480 adolescents from upper-middle and high-income countries. Results: FGDS was lowest among adolescents in lower-middle countries (3.5 ± 1.1) and greatest in high-income countries (5.4 ± 1.3 points). Using single 24-HRs, 1-point increments in FGDS performed identically to predict a higher mean adequacy ratio among boys and girls (5.1 percentage points; 95% confidence interval: 5.0, 5.2; P < 0.001). MDD-W (i.e., ≥5 food groups) performed well in predicting a mean adequacy ratio of >0.60 among adolescents from upper-middle and high-income countries, whereas a ≤4 food group cutoff showed a superior balance between sensitivity, specificity, and percentage correctly classified in low (only girls) and lower-middle-income countries (boys and girls). In contrast, using repeated 24-HRs, the mean probability of adequacy levels among adolescents were too high and homogeneous (i.e., all mean probability of adequacies > 0.60) to define an optimal food group threshold. Conclusions: MDD-W can be extended to boys and girls aged 10-19 y from upper-middle and high-income countries. Furthermore, an adapted indicator using a -4 food group threshold signals higher micronutrient adequacy in low and lower-middle-income countries. Food group cutoffs to predict the micronutrient adequacy of usual intakes should be validated using repeated 24-HRs in populations where a lower proportion of adolescents meet mean dietary requirements. Listeria monocytogenes is a pathogenic foodborne bacterium that is a significant cause of mortality associated with foodborne illness and causes many food recalls attributed to a bacteriological cause. Their ability to form biofilms contributes to the persistence of Listeria spp. in food processing environments. When growing as biofilms, L. monocytogenes are more resistant to sanitizers used in the food industry, such as benzalkonium chloride (BAC), as well as to physical stresses like desiccation and starvation. Lytic phages of Listeria are antagonistic to a broad range of Listeria spp. and may, therefore, have utility in reducing the occurrence of Listeria-associated food recalls by preventing food contamination. We screened nine closely related Listeria phages, including the commercially available Listex P100, for host range and ability to degrade microtiter plate biofilms of L. monocytogenes ATCC 19111 (serovar 1/2a). One phage, CKA15, was selected and shown to rapidly adsorb to its host under conditions relevant to applying the phage in dairy processing environments. Under simulated dairy processing conditions (SDPC), CKA15 caused a 2-log reduction in Lm19111 biofilm bacteria. This work supports the biosanitation potential of phage CKA15 and provides a basis for further investigation of phage-bacteria interactions in biofilms grown under SDPC. IMPORTANCE Listeria monocytogenes is a pathogenic bacterium that is especially dangerous for children, the elderly, pregnant women, and immune-compromised people. Because of this, the food industry takes its presence in their plants seriously. Food recalls due to L. monocytogenes are common with a high associated economic cost. In food-processing plants, Listeria spp. typically reside in biofilms, which are structures produced by bacteria that shield them from environmental stressors and are often attached to surfaces. The significance of our work is that we show a bacteriophage—a virus-infecting bacteria—can reduce Listeria counts by two orders of magnitude when the bacterial biofilms were grown under simulated dairy processing conditions. The primary objective of this study was to examine how social desirability is associated with self-reported measures of dietary intakes and variables related to attitudes and behaviours towards eating. This analysis was conducted in 1083 adults (50.0% women) from the PREDISE study. Social desirability was assessed using the Balanced Inventory of Desirable Responding (BIDR) questionnaire, which includes two subscales: (1) self-deceptive enhancement (SDE), i.e., having an overly positive self-image and (2) impression management (IM), i.e., intentional response distortion to please. BIDR total score and IM subscore were positively associated with the Canadian Healthy Eating Index (C-HEI) (ß = 0.24 and ß = 0.50; p ≤ 0.0003), calculated using data from three self-administered 24 h food recalls. All BIDR scores were positively associated with self-determined motivation for eating regulation (0.03 ≤ ß ≤ 0.06; p < 0.0001), measured by the Regulation of Eating Behavior Scale, and with the intuitive eating score (0.02 ≤ ß ≤ 0.05; p < 0.0001). Also, all BIDR scores were negatively associated with hunger and disinhibition scores measured by the Three-Factor Eating Questionnaire (−0.17 ≤ ß ≤ −0.09; p < 0.0001). All these associations were adjusted for age, sex, BMI, and the education level. Furthermore, controlling for both dimensions of social desirability did not impact the magnitude of the association between self-determined motivation (the strongest predictor of healthy eating in the PREDISE study) and C-HEI. According to our results, associations are observed with diet quality, as well as with attitudes and behaviours towards eating; therefore, a measurement of social desirability responding would be pertinent in studies using those or related variables. Prior literature has documented that product quality failures have negative impacts on the interest of stakeholders, such as consumers and shareholders. We extend this literature by investigating its potential effects on the interest of employees. Using a novel dataset that tracks the recall incidents of Chinese firms in an industry where product quality is crucial (i.e., the drug industry), our empirical results show that the effects on corporate employment decisions are twofold. On the one hand, we show that firms' employment growth decreases after product recalls. The effect is more pronounced in non-state-owned firms, firms with higher labor costs, firms in regions with weaker labor protection, and during periods when local politicians lack promotion incentives. On the other hand, product recalls mainly induce firms to reduce the employment growth of low-grade employees, consistent with recalling firms relying on high-skilled labor to improve drug quality. Collectively, our study suggests that product quality failures could be a broader issue of corporate social responsibility (CSR) than being documented, and carries implications for policymakers concerning employment as well as product safety. We aimed to explore the link between sleep-related parameters and dietary practices. This cross-sectional exploratory study includes sedentary individuals between 20 and 59 years of age. We applied exigent inclusion and exclusion criteria, such as weight stability and without humor- or sleep-related diseases. Also, shift workers were not included. We evaluated sleep quality (by Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index; PSQI), sleepiness (by Epworth Sleepiness Scale), chronotype (by Morningness Eveningness Questionnaire; MEQ), and social jetlag from sleep dairy. Moreover, Food Practices Measurement Scale was used to assess dietary practices. Food intake estimates (i. e., energy, eating window, and late-night dinner eating) were derived from two 24-h food recalls (R24h). For analysis, dietary practices and energy intake from R24h were considered dependent variables, while PSQI, ESS, MEQ, STJ, EW, and LNDE were considered independent variables. Our sample comprises 42 adults (21 women and 21 men; 35.4 (12.5) y; 25.6 (5.21) kg/m2 BMI; 26.5 (7.97) % body fat). We verified that persons with poor sleep quality showed lower dietary practice scores (MD − 6.68; p = 0.021). Besides, in regression analysis, chronotype (β = 0.266; p = 0.039) was positively associated with dietary practices, and eating window was positively associated with energy intake (β = 267 kcal; p = 0.023). In contrast to our hypothesis, other sleep- and circadian-related variables were not associated with dietary practices or energy intake. In summary, we conclude that morning chronotype appears to be related to better dietary practices from the Food Guide for the Brazilian Population guide and that higher eating window was positively associated with energy intake. Staphylococcus aureus is an important and leading cause of foodborne diseases worldwide. Prompt detection and recall of contaminated foods are crucial to prevent untoward health consequences caused by S. aureus. Helix loop-mediated isothermal amplification (HAMP) is an exciting recent addition to the array of available isothermal-based nucleic acid amplification techniques. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a HAMP assay for detecting S. aureus in milk and milk products. The assay is completed in 75 minutes of isothermal temperature incubation (64 ˚C) and dye-based visual interpretation of results based on colour change. The specificity of the developed assay was ascertained using 27 S. aureus and 17 non S. aureus bacterial strains. The analytical sensitivity of the developed HAMP assay was 9.7 fg/µL of pure S. aureus DNA. The detection limit of the HAMP assay in milk (86 CFU/mL) was 1000x greater than the routinely used endpoint PCR (86 × 103 CFU/mL). The practicality of applying the HAMP assay was also assessed by analysing milk and milk product samples (n = 95) obtained from different dairy farms and retail outlets. The developed test is a more rapid, sensitive, and user-friendly method for the high-throughput screening of S. aureus in food samples and may therefore be suitable for field laboratories. Objective: To quantify the full life cycle impacts of ultra-processed foods (UPF) for key environmental, economic and nutritional indicators to identify trade-offs between UPF contribution to broad-scope sustainability. Design: Using 24-h dietary recalls along with an input–output database for the Australian economy, dietary environmental and economic impacts were quantified in this national representative cross-sectional analysis. Food items were classified into non-UPF and UPF using the NOVA system, and dietary energy contribution from non-UPF and UPF fractions in diets was estimated. Thereafter, associations between nutritional, environmental and economic impacts of non-UPF and UPF fractions of diets were examined using a multi-dimensional nutritional geometry representation. Setting: National Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey 2011–2012 of Australia. Participants: Respondents (n 5344) aged > 18 years with 1 d of 24-h dietary recall data excluding respondents with missing values and outlier data points and under reporters. Results: Australian diets rich in UPF were associated with reduced nutritional quality, high greenhouse gas emissions, energy use, and increased employment and income associated with the food supply chains. The environmental and economic impacts associated with the UPF portion of diets become more distinct when the diets are standardised to average protein recommendation. Conclusion: Increased consumption of UPF has socio-economic benefits, but this comes with adverse effects on the environment and public health. Jordan has never conducted a nutrition survey to determine nutrient and energy intakes. The current study aimed to describe the energy and macronutrient consumed by the Jordanian population. A cross-sectional food consumption study was conducted, including a sample of Jordanians using two non-consecutive 24-h dietary recalls (24-h DR) between October 2021 and March 2022. A total of 2145 males and females aged 8 to 85 years old living in households were studied. The average of two 24-h DRs for each individual was converted into energy and nutrient intakes. After measuring weight, height, and waist circumference, the body mass index (BMI) and waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) were calculated. The percentage of under-reporters was higher in women than men (58.2% vs. 45.9%). Adults and older adult women had the highest prevalence of obesity (29.6%), while adults and older adult men had the highest prevalence of overweight (41.4%). There is a significant increase in energy intake in children, boys, and all adults, compared to the recommended calories. The mean energy percentage (E %) of total fat was 38%, exceeding the upper limit of the Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range (AMDR). At the same time, the mean daily dietary fiber intake fell below the recommended levels (ranging from 13.5 g in children to 19.5 g in older adults). The study population consumes more fat and less fiber than the recommended levels. Actions must be taken across all age groups to correct the deviation of energy and macronutrient intakes from the recommended dietary allowances. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Scatter-hoarding birds find their caches using spatial memory and have an enlarged hippocampus. Finding a cache site could be achieved using either Recollection (a discrete recalling of previously experienced information) or Familiarity (a feeling of "having encountered something before"). In humans, these two processes can be distinguished using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. ROC curves for olfactory memory in rats have shown the hippocampus is involved in Recollection, but not Familiarity. We test the hypothesis that food-hoarding birds, having a larger hippocampus, primarily use Recollection to find their caches. We validate a novel method of constructing ROC curves in humans and apply this method to cache retrieval by coal tits (Periparus ater). Both humans and birds mainly use Familiarity in finding their caches, with lower contribution of Recollection. This contribution is not significantly different from chance in birds, but a small contribution cannot be ruled out. Memory performance decreases with increasing retention interval in birds. The ecology of food-hoarding Parids makes it plausible that they mainly use Familiarity in the memory for caches. The larger hippocampus could be related to associating cache contents and temporal context with cache locations, rather than Recollection of the spatial information itself. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID‐19 pandemic increased sales of portable UV‐C devices as a means of inactivating the SARS‐CoV‐2 virus. Research suggests that excessive UV‐C exposure to the eyes and skin can lead to side‐effects, primarily photokeratitis and erythema, but these findings are limited to case studies. This study explores self‐reported side‐effects of UV‐C devices by collating five waves of UK consumer survey data from April 2020–December 2021 (N = 26 864). 30%–46% of owners report a side‐effect after using a device claiming to emit UV‐C. However, detailed analysis of Wave 4 data (N = 309) highlights inconsistencies between reported and plausible side‐effect(s) associated with skin or eye exposure from UV‐C devices. Alternative explanations are considered, namely that the reported side‐effect(s) were psychosomatic or misattributed to direct exposure of UV‐C radiation. Data regarding awareness of warnings about device side‐effect(s) supports the misattribution explanation. For risk assessment purposes, limited reliable information about specific irritation or injury to the eye and skin was found from self‐reporting surveys. To optimize future data collection, we recommend addressing recall errors by: reducing the period under investigation, supplementing responses with empirical measures, and incentivizing respondents to provide accurate information about the make and model of the UV‐C device. Listeria outbreaks and food recalls is on the raise globally. Milk particularly is highly susceptible to Listeria as its production and storage adequately support Listeria growth. The extent of milk contamination with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm) and preventative actions to halt milk associated outbreaks in Africa are unknown. Hence, this study aimed at assessing the national and subregional prevalence of Lm in milk in Africa and identify impacting factors via generalized logistic mixed-effects (GLMEs) and meta-regression modelling. Lm-milk-specific data acquired from primary studies according to standard protocol were fitted using a GLMEs. The GLMEs was subjected to leave-one-study-out-cross-validation (LOSOCV). Factors impacting Lm prevalence in milk were assayed via a 1000-permutation-assisted meta-regression-modelling. The pooled prevalence of Lm in milk in Africa was 4.35% [2.73–6.86] with a prediction interval (PI) of 0.14–59.86% and LOSOCV value of 2.43% [1.62–3.62; PI: 0.32–16.11%]. Western Africa had the highest prevalence [20.13%, 4.13–59.59], then Southern Africa [5.85%, 0.12–75.72], Northern Africa [4.67%, 2.82–7.64], Eastern Africa [1.91%, 0.64–5.55], and there was no record from Central Africa. In term of country, Lm prevalence in milk significantly (p < 0.01) varied from 0.00 to 90.00%. Whereas the Lm prevalence was negligibly different (p = 0.77) by milk type, raw-milk had the highest prevalence [5.26%], followed by fermented-milk [4.76%], boiled-milk [2.90%], pasteurized-milk [1.64%], and powdered-milk [1.58%]. DNA extraction approach did not significantly (p = 0.07) affect Lm prevalence (Boiling [7.82%] versus Kit [7.24%]) as well as Lm detection method (p = 0.10; (ACP [3.64%] vs. CP [8.92%] vs. CS [2.27%] vs. CSP [6.82%]). Though a bivariate/multivariate combination of all tested variables in meta-regression explained 19.68–68.75% (R2) variance in Lm prevalence in milk, N, nation, and subregion singly/robustly accounted for 17.61% (F1;65 = 7.5994; p = 0.005), 63.89% (F14;52 = 4.2028; p = 0.001), and 16.54% (F3;63 = 3.4743; p = 0.026), respectively. In conclusion, it is recommended that adequate sample size should be prioritized in monitoring Lm in milk to prevent spuriously high or low prevalence to ensure robust, plausible, and credible estimate. Over the years, there have been a significant number of Africa's food exports rejected at the European Union (EU) borders due to their non-compliance with EU food safety standards. This paper, therefore, provides an in-depth investigation of the potential causes of the non-compliance of Africa's food exports to EU food standards and the subsequent rejection of such food exports at its borders. We contribute to the literature by investigating the roles played by trade facilitation measures and institutions in food export rejections and also exclusively provide a more detailed analysis and specific evidence at the product level. Our results indicate that poor trade facilitation measures, particularly inefficient border and food logistics procedures in African countries, increase the incidence of food rejection at the EU border and add to Africa's challenges in accessing EU markets. Thus, non-compliance with EU food safety standards can be addressed by African governments through the strengthening of their domestic institutions and trade facilitation measures, with policies that improve logistics and border procedures as well as measures that align their food standards to international ones. In the Philippines, especially in far-flung areas where poverty is still common, malnutrition remains a significant problem. Factors contributing to malnutrition and their interplay with poverty in impoverished areas of the Philippines are not thoroughly investigated. An assessment of the different nutritional, health, and social factors are needed to address poverty-linked malnutrition in Brgy. Bukang Liwayway and similar contexts. One hundred forty-five (145) households that served as sampling units were randomly selected. Two (2) 24-hour food recalls were conducted to capture the usual dietary intakes and diet diversity. Questionnaires were adapted, pre-tested, and used to assess the breastfeeding knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) and the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) situation. Multiple nutrients were found to be inadequate in the usual diet of the participants compared with the dietary reference intakes, namely: fat (56.27%), fiber (51.24%), vitamin A (66.90%), iron (44.94%), vitamin C (70.90%), thiamin (25.56%), and riboflavin (56.67%). The mean SD diversity score of the households was 5 ± 1.25, which indicates that the typical diet was not particularly diversified. There were alarming knowledge deficits on crucial aspects of breastfeeding, such as only a few mothers/caregivers knew the meaning (20.69%) and the physical benefits of exclusive breastfeeding to a mother (17.24%). There were also sanitary and hygiene issues needed to be addressed, such as open defecation, poor toilet facilities, a lack of soap, and occasional handwashing. The study showed that there were significant inadequacies in dietary intake, breastfeeding, and sanitation practices that need to be addressed and developed into evidence-based strategies aimed at effectively combating poverty-linked malnutrition in the region. It has been suggested that an imbalance in mineral levels is involved in the pathophysiology of migraine. However, only a few studies have investigated the circulating levels of mineral in patients with migraine during the pain-free period (i.e. interictal). This study aimed to investigate whether the interictal plasma levels of minerals of women with migraine differ from those of women without migraine (controls). This is a cross-sectional study involving 67 women, of which 38 were diagnosed with migraine and 29 were controls. The groups were similar in age and body mass index. Plasma levels of magnesium (Mg), copper (Cu), calcium (Ca), zinc (Zn), iron (Fe), and selenium (Se) were measured. Dietary intake was assessed using a 24-hour food recall, and migraine impact was evaluated using the Headache Impact Test, version 6 (HIT-6). The association between migraine disability, and plasma levels and dietary intake of minerals was assessed through correlation and logistic regression analyses. Women with migraine had significantly lower plasma levels of Mg, Ca, Cu, and Zn than controls. In parallel, dietary intake of Mg, Cu, and Fe was significantly lower in patients with migraine. Migraine impact was not associated with plasma levels or dietary intake of minerals. The results suggest that patients with migraine have lower plasma levels of minerals, and dietary intervention to ensure adequate mineral intake should be considered as a therapeutic strategy for migraine. Background: Association between poor infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices and malnutrition in infants and young children (IYC) is well established. Furthermore, appropriate IYCF practices are important during the first 1,000 days of life to ensure optimal health and development. Understanding IYCF practices and associated socioeconomic and demographic factors will inform interventions to achieve the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target to end malnutrition in all forms. Objective: This study estimates the prevalence of Minimum Dietary Diversity (MDD), Minimum Meal Frequency (MMF), and Minimum Acceptable Diet (MAD), and examines their association with socioeconomic and demographic characteristics among children aged 6–23 months in Ghana. Method: We used data from the Ghana Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 6 (GMICS6) conducted in 2017–18. Participants were recruited through multi-stage stratified cluster sampling. Information on caregiver's self-reported breastfeeding status and 24-hour dietary recall of foods IYC were fed with were collected through face-to-face interviews. We estimated the prevalence of MDD, MMF and MAD with a 95% confidence interval (CI). We investigated the socioeconomic and demographic determinants of MDD, MMF and MAD using univariate and multivariable logistic regression analyses. Findings: Among 2,585 IYC aged 6–23 months, MDD, MMF and MAD were estimated as 25.46%, 32.82% and 11.72% respectively. Age of the IYC, educational status of the mothers/primary caregivers, and resident regions were found to have positive associations with MDD, MMF and MAD. In addition, the richest household wealth index and urban area of residence were found to have significant positive associations with MDD. Conclusion: We report a low prevalence of MDD, MMF and MAD. Efforts to improve IYCF practices among children aged 6–23 months in Ghana should focus on multi-sectorial approaches including increasing access to formal education, income-generating activities and addressing regional and rural-urban inequity. Stability and impurity profiling of drugs is crucial in fixed-dose drug combinations as safety, efficacy, and purity depend on an individual drug's stability behaviour. The formation of drug degradants is lean-on various factors and the probabilities of drug degradation may increase in fixed-dose drug combination formulations. Additionally, drug impurity profiling can be studied with the aid of degradation prediction. In this context, a preliminary attempt was made to use Zeneth software to anticipate the degradation of combination medications. Due to the presence of mutagenic/carcinogenic impurities i.e. NDMA/NDEA in various batches of Valsartan, FDA announces a recall in the last few years. Therefore, Zeneth predictions were performed to explore the effect of the presence of mutagenic impurity (NDMA/NDEA) on the stability of drug. The toxicity of each predicted degradant was evaluated with the help of TEST, ProTox II and Lazar toxicity prediction tools. Background : Work fatigue is one of the problems that often occurs because it hampers the process and results of a job, resulting in a decrease in health, work capacity, and body resistance due to work activities. According to the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration in 2014 in Indonesia on average there were 414 work accidents per day, 27.8% due to high fatigue. Objective : The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of nutritional status, workload, energy intake and macronutrient nutrients with work fatigue on production workers at PT. Selaras Citra Lestari Bawen. Method : This research is an analytic observational with a cross sectional design. The sample of this study was 20 people. Nutritional status data from BMI measurement, workload using pulse measurement, energy intake and macronutrient nutrients were obtained from food recall 2x24 hours and work fatigue was measured using the IFRC questionnaire. The results of the analysis using the Spearman Rank Correlation test. Results : There is a significant relationship between workload and work fatigue (p-value = 0.000), and there is no significant relationship between nutritional status (p-value = 0.538), energy intake (p-value = 0.300), protein intake (pvalue = 0.077), fat intake (p-value = 0.199), and carbohydrate intake (p-value = 0.601) with work fatigue. Due to recurring food quality and safety issues, growing segments of consumers, especially in developed markets, and regulators in agri-food supply chains (AFSCs) require a fast and trustworthy system to retrieve necessary information on their food products. With the existing centralized traceability systems used in AFSCs, it is difficult to acquire full traceability information, and there are risks of information loss and data tampering. To address these challenges, research on the application of blockchain technology (BCT) for traceability systems in the agri-food sector is increasing, and startup companies have emerged in recent years. However, there have been only a limited number of reviews on the application of BCT in the agriculture sector, especially those that focus on the BCT-based traceability of agricultural goods. To bridge this knowledge gap, we reviewed 78 studies that integrated BCT into traceability systems in AFSCs and additional relevant papers, mapping out the main types of food traceability information. The findings indicated that the existing BCT-based traceability systems focus more on fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy, and milk. A BCT-based traceability system enables one to develop and implement a decentralized, immutable, transparent, and reliable system in which process automation facilitates the monitoring of real-time data and decision-making activities. We also mapped out the main traceability information, key information providers, and challenges and benefits of the BCT-based traceability systems in AFSCs. These helped to design, develop, and implement BCT-based traceability systems, which, in turn, will contribute to the transition to smart AFSC systems. This study comprehensively illustrated that implementing BCT-based traceability systems also has important, positive implications for improving AFSC management, e.g., reductions in food loss and food recall incidents and the achievement of the United Nations SDGs (1, 3, 5, 9, 12). French novels of the 19th century recall the aspects of food culture in different ways through their reflections on the golden age for both gastronomy and the pleasures of the table. La Comédie Humaine is a milestone in highlighting the keystones of French food and gastronomy. In this study, we propose a multistage analysis of 21 novels of La Comédie Humaine by examining the food terms and their translations into English and Turkish. Our main contribution is the qualitative and quantitative analysis of food in the Balzacian context. We have performed food data visualization from original and translated texts and thus revealed how the terms for beverages and mealtimes are interconnected in the Comédie Humaine and how food translations might differ in English and Turkish, especially the names of wine, coffee terms and mealtime names. We provide a contextualized food approach to Balzac's novels through the lens of Turkish and English culture revealing their openness, or not, to French food culture, linked to the rules of prestige and the habitus of the target culture. We started our analysis by localizing food patterns in the source language. Then we analyzed them in distant reading – analysis of quantitative data – and close reading focused on the qualitative analysis. BACKGROUND: A large number of children and adolescents worldwide suffer from physiological vitamin D (VD) deficiency, which has been associated with sun exposure and, consequently, the risk of developing various autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes (T1D). However, the association of the disease with VD intake and sun exposure has yet to be explored. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We conducted a food frequency questionnaire and a 24-hour food recall survey, using "Ciqual table 2016" in 335 type 1 diabetic and age- and gender-matched healthy Algerian school children and adolescents from sunny Saharan and relatively less sunny Northern regions, aged between 5 and 19 years. RESULTS: Both dietary VD intake and VD levels were similar in T1D patients when comparing northern and southern regions (for both comparisons, p > 0.05). Neither sun exposure nor VD intake was associated with the disease (respectively, relative risk [RR] = 1.050, p = 0.680; RR = 1.082, p = 1.000. For Cochran and Mantel-Haenszel analysis; RR = 0.841, p = 0.862). VD intake showed a significant difference between diabetics and non-diabetics in the sunny region (p = 0.022). Additionally, significant differences were found between normal and T1D schoolboys (p = 0.038), and when comparing the two groups according to the dry areas (p = 0.016). Moreover, in contrast to circulating VD levels, which were lower in T1D patients than in healthy controls, those of VD intake were significantly higher (p < 0.05), especially in male patients and in those with balanced diet, low protein or carbohydrate consumption, specific food intolerances, and regular meals (p < 0.05), as well as in patients with a moderate or low consumption of cooked meals or steamed foods (p < 0.01). Conversely, VD intake was markedly lower in type 1 diabetics than in controls for dry and sunny areas, including the region of Adrar, as well as for consumption of low-fat foods and eggs (p < 0.05 for all comparisons). Nevertheless, the relative risk of sun exposure and dietary vitamin D intake according to the World Health Organization (WHO) standard did not show a significant association with T1D (common Mantel-Haenszel estimation, RR = 0.841, 95% CI 0.118–5.973, p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: T1D does not appear to be associated with VD intake and sun exposure in the Algerian Sahara region. Agroecological food systems and socioeconomic characteristics are known to influence household food security and food consumption patterns and consequently have an impact on child nutritional status. The present study examined food consumption patterns among children aged 6–23 months in two geographic regions of Zambia, with special focus on consumption of fermented products, and its association with illnesses and nutritional status. The cross-sectional survey enrolled a total of 213 children from Namwala and Mkushi districts of Zambia. A 24 h recall and food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) were used to determine the number of food groups consumed and consequently dietary diversity scores and food consumption patterns, respectively. Determinants of child's linear growth as measured by Height-for-Age Z-scores (HAZ) were assessed via multiple linear regression analysis. In total, 54% of the children met the minimum dietary diversity by consuming food from at least 5+ food groups. Maize meal porridge, Mabisi (fermented milk), Chibwantu and Munkoyo (fermented beverages based on cereals) and groundnuts were among the frequently consumed foods. A higher consumption of fermented beverages was observed in Namwala compared to Mkushi district. A significant association was observed between HAZ score (rho = 0.198, p = 0.004), Weight-for-Age Z-score (WAZ) (rho = 0.142, p = 0.039) and consumption of mabisi. Dietary intake had a positive association with child nutritional status. The frequent consumption of traditional non-alcoholic cereal and milk-based fermented foods underpinned their contribution to the children's dietary intake. Moreover, the trend would be viewed as an indicator to nutrition and policy actors on possible unoptimized potential of indigenous fermented foods' influence in nutritional and health status among children at regional and national levels. Although Zambia has a wide range of traditional non-alcoholic fermented food products, their prospects in provision of macro- and micronutrients along with microbiota benefits remain scanty despite global efforts increasingly advocating for the inclusion of such traditional foods in food-based recommendations. The number of voices in commonly used pathological voice databases such as Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI) and Saarbruecken Voice Database (SVD) is insufficient and imbalanced. This may make the classification results lack credibility and robustness. Our works investigate the direct generation of normally pitched vowel/:a/to expand the low-resource pathological voice database. A framework for generating vowels of different lengths using improved WaveNet and Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) is proposed in this work. Long and short vowel segments can be generated by an improved WaveNet model and a model based on Stationary Wavelet Transform and Wasserstein GAN with gradient-penalty (SWT-WGANGP) in our framework respectively. The generated voice segments are added to the original imbalanced database to improve the classification performance. Besides, we propose the accuracyscore and the diversity-score to evaluate the generated voice. By adding our generated data based on the traditional classification pipeline, accuracy on the two databases increased by 1.81% and 4.38% respectively, and the recall has achieved more than 10% improvement. Compared with the other data generation method, our method improves the classification results the most while using the same feature and classifier. Besides, using our proposed framework based on existing advanced pathological voice detection methods can further improve performance. Our results show that deep generative models with optimized structure can be used for direct vowel generation in low-resource pathological voice databases to expand the raw database, which has been ignored in previous research. The availability of hyper-palatable foods (HPF) increased over the past three decades worldwide, a period when eating disorders (ED) and obesity have become global public health concerns. The present study aimed to assess HPF consumption during binge and non-binge meals in a representative sample of adults with and without ED from a metropolitan city in Brazil. A total of 2297 individuals were interviewed in their homes by trained lay interviewers to assess the presence of binge eating disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa (BN), and recurrent binge eating (RBE). Information on their food consumption in objective and subjective binge eating episodes (OBE and SBE, respectively), as well as in the 24 h food recall were obtained. Individuals from the general population consumed 56% of their total calories from HPF. In non-binge meals, people with BN consumed substantially fewer calories from HPF than BED (63% vs. 48%) and RBE (63% vs. 48%) groups. During OBE, participants consumed an average of 70% of the calories from HPF, with no between-group differences. During SBE, subjects with BN consumed substantially fewer calories from HPF than those with BED (76% vs. 50%). In conclusion, HPF were highly consumed by the Brazilian population. Cerebrovascular accident is the most common disorder in the older adult population and can impair the swallowing function, resulting in neurogenic dysphagia with greater occurrence in its acute phase. This study aimed to check how the oropharyngeal dysphagia degree impacts the oral intake and nutritional status of older adults affected by cerebrovascular accident in the late stage after stroke. This is a retrospective cross-sectional study. According to the Dysphagia Outcome and Severity Scale (DOSS), three judges classified the oropharyngeal dysphagia after analyzing the instrumental evaluation of swallowing images captured through fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES). The level of oral intake classification (FOIS) was performed by reviewing the usual patterns of food intake reported in the 24-hour food recall, and the nutritional status assessment was performed using data from the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA®) and anthropometric measurements: weight, height, body mass index (BMI), circumferences (arm), skin folds (triceps; biceps; subscapular; suprailiac). Researchers included 25 older adult subjects (14 male and 11 female) with an average age of 72 years old. A positive correlation was found between the oropharyngeal dysphagia degree and FOIS (p = 0.051), screening score (p = 0.011), and total score (p = 0.006) of the MNA® protocol, as well as between the classification of FOIS levels with the BMI (p = 0.029) and anthropometric measurements referring to muscle mass – AC (p = 0.021), AMC (p = 0.010) and AMA (p = 0.023). It is more of a stream of consciousness than reflective, more descriptive than analytical. In recollecting my memories of foods eaten in years gone by, I realise it is not an exercise in isolation. When we consume food, it is not merely for sustenance as our food practices are invariably intertwined with a whole lot of experiences, rituals and habits of old. The act of remembering favourite or comfort foods can set off triggers of feelings and emotions long past. My family, like most Chinese families of the time, expressed their love for each other through food. Introduction: Omega-3 fatty acids were found to be effective in reducing inflammation and free radicals caused by air pollution (cigarette smoke), as well as improving lung function. Furthermore, economic conditions can influence a person’s food consumption habits. The type of food consumed will certainly affect the amount of omega-3 absorbed by the body, and the quality of food consumed is influenced by socioeconomic status (SES). Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine omega-3 intake and its relationship with the socioeconomic status of online motorcycle drivers. Design and Methods: This was an observational study with a cross-sectional method of measuring omega-3 consumption using a 24-hour food recall questionnaire and assessing the mean of omega-3 intake after 3 days. The was conducted from MayAugust 2020, in Kali Rungkut, Surabaya City, and the subjects were online motorcycle drivers. A Chi-square test was used to assess the relationship between omega-3 intake and SES (income and education). Results: There were 49 respondents in this study with most of them having a classification of omega-3 intake at the deficit level (57.14%), and none belonging to the good and more level. There was a significant difference in omega-3 intake on income (p=0.000) and education (p=0.000). A long standing challenge in biological and artificial intelligence is to understand how new knowledge can be constructed from known building blocks in a way that is amenable for computation by neuronal circuits. Here we focus on the task of storage and recall of structured knowledge in long-term memory. Specifically, we ask how recurrent neuronal networks can store and retrieve multiple knowledge structures. We model each structure as a set of binary relations between events and attributes (attributes may represent e.g., temporal order, spatial location, role in semantic structure), and map each structure to a distributed neuronal activity pattern using a vector symbolic architecture scheme.We then use associative memory plasticity rules to store the binarized patterns as fixed points in a recurrent network. By a combination of signal-to-noise analysis and numerical simulations, we demonstrate that our model allows for efficient storage of these knowledge structures, such that the memorized structures as well as their individual building blocks (e.g., events and attributes) can be subsequently retrieved from partial retrieving cues. We show that long-term memory of structured knowledge relies on a new principle of computation beyond the memory basins. Objective: To assess the association between soybean consumption and anaemic status in Central Java, Indonesia. Design: As part of an overarching sanitation improvement intervention in Central Java, Indonesia, we conducted a cross-sectional study in four rural villages. The study consisted of a 24-h food recall, anthropometric measurements, blood Hb measurement and stool sampling to test for soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infection status. A binary logistic regression model was fitted to test the association between soybean consumption and anaemic status after adjusting for socio-demographic factors, STH infection, dietary diversity and anthropometric status. Setting: This study took place in four rural villages of Wonosobo regency, Central Java, Indonesia. Participants: Participants were rural villagers aged between 15 and 49 years. Results: A total sample size of 763 was attained, of which 231 were anaemic. The prevalence of anaemia was 30·2 % among men and women of reproductive age, and highest among young males. Consumption of soybean was high (79·8 %). After adjusting for covariates, the protective association between soybean consumption and anaemia was statistically significant (AOR = 0·53, 95 % CI = 0·30, 0·95, P < 0·05). There was a positive association with anaemia among underweight (AOR = 2·75, 95 % CI = 1·13, 6·69, P < 0·05) and those with high diet diversity (AOR = 1·40, 95 % CI = 1·00, 1·97, P < 0·05). Conclusions: Our results were consistent with studies from other countries finding a protective association between soybean consumption and anaemia. This association appeared stronger for tofu than for tempeh. The prevalence of anaemia in rural Central Java is relatively consistent with nation-wide statistics indicating that interventions targeting anaemia are still largely required. Background: Monitoring salt consumption in children is essential for informing and implementing public health interventions to reduce children's salt intake. However, collection of 24-hour urines, considered as the most reliable approach, can be especially challenging to school children. This study aimed to assess the agreement between 24-hour urine (24hrU) and 24-hour food recall (24hrFR) in: (1) estimating salt intake in children; (2) classifying salt intakes above the recommended upper level set for children, and; (3) estimating change in mean salt intake over time.Methods: This study utilised data from two cross-sectional surveys of school children aged 8 to 12 years living in the state of Victoria, Australia. A single 24hrU and 24hrFR were collected from each participant. Suspected inaccurate urine collections and implausible energy intakes were excluded based on pre-defined criteria. The agreement between the two methods was assessed using Bland-Altman methodology, the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), and the kappa statistic. The difference between the measured change in salt intake over time using 24hrU and 24hrFR was derived using mixed effects linear regression analysis.Results: A total of 588 participants provided a 24hrU and 24hrFR. Overall, there was no meaningful difference in mean estimated salt intake between the two methods (- 0.2 g/day, 95% CI - 0.5 to 0.1). The Bland-Altman plot showed wide 95% limits of agreement (- 7.2 to 6.8). The ICC between the two methods was 0.13 (95% CI 0.05 to 0.21). There was poor interrater reliability in terms of classifying salt intake above the recommended upper level for children, with an observed agreement of 63% and kappa statistic of 0.11. The change in mean salt intake over time was 0.2 g/day (- 0.4 to 0.7) based on 24hrU, and 0.5 g/day (- 0.0 to 1.1) based on 24hrFR, with a difference-in-differences of 0.4 g/day (- 0.3 to 1.1).Conclusions: 24hrFR appears to provide a reasonable estimate of mean salt intake as measured by 24hrU in Australian school children. However, similar to previous observations in adults, and of studies exploring other alternative methods for estimating salt intake, 24hrFR is a poor predictor of individual-level salt intake in children. Therefore, adequate nutrient availability and a balanced diet are essential. Objective: This study evaluated the food consumption of nutrients and fresh, minimally processed, processed, ultra-processed food by pregnant women attended by the Family Health Strategy (FHS) in the city of Picos-PI. Materials and Methods: Therefore, 50 pregnant women from 8 different FHS units were included. The assessment of food consumption was carried out by applying two 24-hour food recalls on alternate days. The recalls were analyzed based on different table composition and the foods were grouped according to the NOVA classification and the Food Guide for the Brazilian Population. Results and Discussion: The pregnant women evaluated were between 18 and 42 years old. The average caloric consumption were 11962 kcal / day, however it was identified inadequacies in consumption of carbohydrates, proteins, vitamin E, folate, calcium and iron. As for the food groups consumed, ultra-processed food presented expressive contribution, corresponding to 21,05% of the total average caloric consumption. Higher intake of lipids, saturated fat, thiamine, calcium and sodium was observed in the ultra-processed group. However, pregnant women who receive government aid consumed less ultra-processed foods. Conclusion: We concluded that pregnant women have an inadequate consumption of macronutrients and micronutrients during pregnancy, including significant consumption of ultra-processed foods that directly influence the higher intake of lipids, saturated fat and sodium. Background: The National Cancer Institute (NCI) method has been used widely by researchers to make inferences about usual dietary intake distributions of foods and nutrients based on a limited number of 24-hour dietary recalls (24HRs). Although the NCI method does not provide individual estimates of usual intake, it can be used to address many research questions, including modeling effects of nutrition interventions on population distributions of usual intake. Software for implementing the NCI method and corresponding code examples is publicly available in the form of SAS macros, but little formal guidance exists for conducting advanced analyses.Objectives: We aim to present advanced techniques for working with NCI macros to conduct both basic and advanced dietary analyses and modeling.Method: We first present the three basic building blocks of analyses using the NCI method: 1) dataset preparation; 2) application of the MIXTRAN macro to estimate parameters of the usual intake distribution, including effects of covariates, after transformation of 24HRs to approximate normality; and 3) application of the DISTRIB macro to estimate the distribution of usual nutrient intake. Then, we illustrate how researchers can employ these building blocks to answer questions beyond typical descriptive analyses.Results: Researchers can adapt the building blocks to 1) account for factors such as demographic changes or nutrition interventions such as food fortification, 2) estimate the prevalence of dietary inadequacy via the full probability method, 3) incorporate nutrient intake from sources not always captured by 24HRs, such as dietary supplements and human milk, and 4) carry out multiple subgroup analyses. Food safety has been an essential requirement for human survival in recent years. Fortunately, the traceability system can be expected to serve as an important way for the safety of agricultural products. The whole chain information of agricultural products can be traced from the place of origin to the table. The high quality and safety of agricultural products can be obtained to reduce the cost of a food recall, indicating a high increase in consumer confidence. Among them, blockchain technology can be used for trusted traceability without tampering after uploading the chain. It is still lacking in how to determine the information that is uploaded to the chain, and then verify the information before the chain in the current blockchain application. Taking the fruit as an example, the hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) system was integrated with blockchain technology to improve the up-chain mechanism in the current blockchain traceability system of agricultural products. Firstly, the up-chain information was mined to extract the five critical control points (CCP1 production, CCP2 processing, CCP3 storage, CCP4 logistics, and CCP5 sales) using the hazard analysis of the fruit supply chain. The limit value was then determined for the information on the chain, according to the key information, determine whether the information on the chain is within the limit value. If it is within the threshold range, the information will be uploaded to the chain.A data anomaly and quality warning model was established to monitor the information after the up-chain at the critical control point in real time, and then to provide intelligent feedback after the chain. Secondly, an improved up-chain mechanism was constructed with the key information mining before the up-chain, the information fact determination in the up-chain, and the information intelligent feedback after the up-chain. After that, three contracts of threshold determination, data upload, and data intelligent feedback were written to realize the improved up-chain mechanism. Thirdly, a traceability system was developed to deploy the architecture and environment using the Hyperledger Fabric platform. Some functions were then implemented, such as the traceability query, security warning, and decision analysis. Finally, the performance of the improved system was verified in a fruit enterprise in Beijing, China. A better performance was achieved in the improved traceability system. Specifically, an average throughput of 350 Transactions per second, and 40 key transaction data were completed concurrently on the chain within seconds, which was 14.85% higher than the original system, fully meeting the needs of the traceability system. In addition, there were a total of 13 early warning notices of risks during the three-month on-site monitoring. The emergency measures were then taken to effectively ensure the quality and safety of products with the cost saving, according to the level of early warning. The transition to adulthood includes physical, psychological, and psychosocial development, this is related to the nutritional status which must be monitored to identify adolescents at risk of undernutrition and excess. Nutritional problems in adolescents will seriously impact the decline in adolescent productivity. the stressors they get are from their academic life, especially from their own external needs and expectations. This study aims to determine the relationship between psychosocial stress status with food consumption and the nutritional status of 2019 FK Yarsi students. This research is an observational analytic study with a cross sectional approach which was conducted on 77 students of the class of 2019 with a total of 77 people. There is a correlation between psychosocial stress and energy consumption p = 0.000, but there is no relationship between psychosocial stress and protein consumption p = 0.638 and psychosocial stress with nutritional status p = 0.678. Higher stress will affect the level of energy consumption but not protein consumption because if protein intake exceeds the limit it will be directly oxidized, in psychosocial stress with nutritional status there is no relationship because of physical activity, balanced nutrition guidelines, clean living, monitoring, and maintaining weight. Cardiometabolic disease risk factors, including obesity, insulin resistance, high blood pressure, and dyslipidemia, are associated with elevated oxidative stress biomarkers like oxylipins. Increased adiposity by itself induces various isomers of this oxidized lipid family, while dietary polyphenols show benefits in its regulation. Previously, we showed that specific co-abundant microorganisms characterized the gut microbiota of Colombians and associated differentially with diet, lifestyle, obesity, and cardiometabolic health status, which led us to hypothesize that urinary oxylipins would reflect the intensity of oxidative metabolism linked to gut microbiota dysbiosis. Thus, we selected a convenience sample of 105 participants (age: 40.2 ± 11.9 years, 47.6% women), grouped according to microbiota, cardiometabolic health status, and body mass index (BMI); and evaluated 33 urinary oxylipins by HPLC-QqQ-MS/MS (e.g., isoprostanes, prostaglandins, and metabolites), paired with anthropometry and blood chemistry information and dietary antioxidants estimated from a 24-h food recall. In general, oxylipins did not show differences among individuals who differed in gut microbiota. While the unmetabolized oxylipin levels were not associated with BMI, the total content of oxylipin metabolites was highest in obese and cardiometabolically abnormal subjects (e.g., insulin resistant), mainly by prostaglandin-D (2,3-dinor-11β-PGF 2α) and 15-F 2t -IsoPs (2,3-dinor-15-F 2t -IsoP and 2,3-dinor-15- epi -15-F 2t -IsoP) metabolites. The total polyphenol intake in this cohort was 1070 ± 627 mg/day. After adjusting for body weight, the polyphenol intake was significantly higher in lean than overweight and showed an inverse association with dinor-oxylipin levels in principal component analysis. These results suggest that the 2,3-dinor-oxylipins could be more specific biomarkers associated with BMI than their parent oxylipins and that are sensitive to be regulated by dietary antioxidants. Introduction: Adherence to dietary patterns that involve high consumption of saturated fat and ultra-processed foods are closely related to damage to workers' health Objective: To assess the sociodemographic factors associated with the dietary patterns of civil servants at a public university in Ceará. Methods: The sample consisted of 177 technical-administrative employees. A questionnaire with socioeconomic data and two 24-hour food recalls were applied. Patterns were identified by principal component factor analysis, followed by orthogonal varimax rotation. Poisson regression was used to estimate the prevalence ratios of socioeconomic and demographic variables to dietary patterns with 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). Results: Five dietary patterns were found: mixed, healthy, traditional Brazilian, energy-rich and Northeastern. Female servants (PR= 0.24; 95% CI= 0.14 - 0.41) and individuals without a partner (PR= 0.60; 95% CI= 0.36 - 0.99) showed lower adherence to the Brazilian traditional pattern. For the Northeastern pattern, servants with higher education (PR= 0.50; 95% CI= 0.28 - 0.89) and women (PR= 0.46; 95% CI= 0.28 - 0. 78). Older adults (= 45 years) had lower adherence (PR= 0.47; 95% CI= 0.27-0.81) to the energy-rich pattern. Discussion: The dietary patterns found, as well as the prevalence of consumption according to age group, agree with other findings in the Brazilian population and in different countries. Objectives: The study aimed to determine dietary Intake patterns in women with GDM and Non-GDM, a comparative study in a tertiary care hospital, Pakistan. Methods: This comparative cross sectional study was conducted through questionnaire spread over a period of six months of pregnant women visiting to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for ante-natal visit having 24 to 28 weeks of gestation. With the written consent of the participants dietary intake patterns were assessed in GDM & Non-GDM subjects by a three day 24 hours’ recalls and food frequency questionnaire. A 24-hour dietary recall chart is a dietary assessment tool in which participants were asked to recall all food and drink they have consumed in the last 24 hours. The FFQ (food frequency questionnaire) provide a list of foods and participants were asked how often they eat each item on the list. This FFQ has 70 food items. The food frequency was reported as never, per year, per month, once a week, once and a day. The reported intake of food was converted into nutrients intake (carbohydrate, protein, fat) which was calculated by reported intake frequency of each food multiplied by reported portion size and its respective nutrient composition, summing over all foods by a trained Nutritionist. Results: A total of 75 participants with GDM, and 75 with Non-GDM were enrolled in this study over a period of six months. It was observed that dietary intake patterns have a significant association with GDM. Those who consume carbohydrate mainly containing diet have likely to have GDM. It has been seen that those who have family history of diabetes are more likely to have GDM. Family dietary patterns can affect risk of GDM. Our study has shown that timings of meals did not find have any significant association with GDM. Conclusion: Dietary patterns strongly influence the risk of GDM. The most contributing factors to risk of GDM are higher intake of carbohydrate rich diet and lesser consumption of fruits and vegetables. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In order to improve the effect of key information extraction from digital archives, a key information extraction algorithm for different types of digital archives is designed. Preprocess digital archive information, taking part of speech and marks as key information. Self-organizing feature mapping network is used to extract the key information features of digital archives, and the semantic similarity calculation results are obtained by combining the feature extraction results. Combine with mutual information collection, take that word with the highest mutual information value as the collection cent, traverse all keywords, and take the central word as the key information of digital archives to complete the extraction of key information. Experiments show that the recall rate of the algorithm ranges from 96% to 99%, the extraction accuracy of key information of digital archives is between 96 and 98%, and the average extraction time of key information of digital archives is 0.63 s. The latest development of neuroscience has deepened the understanding of the information-processing mechanisms in the human brain and inspired a couple of sophisticated computational methods, such as deep learning, memory networks, and hierarchical temporal memory. However, it remains a challenge to explore simpler models due to the high computational cost of the above-mentioned methods. This paper proposes recall network (RN), an intuitive and simple model, that initializes itself by constructing the network path derived from the correlation of features in the training dataset and then makes classification decisions by recalling the paths that are relevant to the features in the test set. The algorithm has been applied to 263 datasets available from UCI Machine Learning Repository, and the classification results of repeated 10-fold cross-validation experiments on Weka demonstrate its competitive performance with prestigious classification algorithms, such as ANN, J48, and KNN. To infer unknown remote sensing scenarios, most existing technologies use a supervised learning paradigm to train deep neural network (DNN) models on closed datasets. This paradigm faces challenges such as highly spatiotemporal variants and ever-changing scale-heterogeneous remote sensing scenarios. Additionally, DNN models cannot scale to new scenarios. Lifelong learning is an effective solution to these problems. Current lifelong learning approaches focus on overcoming the catastrophic forgetting issue (i.e., a successive increase in heterogeneous remote sensing scenes causes models to forget historical scenes) while ignoring the knowledge recall issue (i.e., how to facilitate the learning of new scenes by recalling historical experiences), which is a significant problem. This article proposes a lifelong learning framework called asymmetric collaborative network (SCN) for lifelong remote sensing image (RSI) classification. This framework consists of two structurally distinct networks: a preserving network (Pres-Net) and a transient network (Trans-Net), which imitate the long- and short-term memory processes in the brain, respectively. Moreover, this framework is based on two synergistic knowledge transfer mechanisms: triple distillation and prior feature fusion. The triple distillation mechanism enables knowledge persistence from Trans-Net to Pres-Net to achieve better memorization; the prior feature fusion mechanism enables knowledge transfer from Pres-Net to Trans-Net to achieve better recall. Experiments on three open datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of SCN for three-, six-, and nine-task-length learning. The idea of asymmetric separation networks and the synergistic strategy proposed in this article are expected to provide new solutions to the translatability of the classification of RSIs in real-world scenarios.
