Polyoxometalates (POMS) are a class of mineral clusters of transition metals or rare-earth elements linked together by Oxo ligands. POMs have been identified as antibacterial, antiviral, and anticancer agents after decades of research since the onset of the 20th century. Furthermore, in recent years POMs have been studied for their applications in diagnosis, photodynamic therapy, photothermal therapy, and theragnostic. However, these last-mentioned POM applications have rarely been reviewed. Considering the potential characteristic features of POMs, comprising their easy, inexpensive, and scalable synthesis, and with special attention to the challenges of their application, POMs would be great alternatives to many conventional medical tools in the field of cancer treatment and diagnosis. In this review, we report recent updated research around utilizing POMs in cancer diagnosis and theragnostic. Publications are on basic topics including POMs in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), POMs in computed tomography (CT), POMs in cancer photoluminescence (PL) imaging, POMs in multimodality, POMs in radiation therapy applications, POMs as radiosensitizer and promotor of drug release, and POMs in theragnostic applications. It is hoped that this review paper will be useful for those researchers who are interested in expanding the applications of polyoxometalates in the field of cancer treatment and diagnosis. The article discusses the topics covered during the 6th National Headache Conference held in Karachi in 2023. Guest speakers from different countries shared their knowledge and experiences through video links. The conference covered various aspects of headache disorders, including migraine, tension-type headaches, cluster headaches, and secondary headaches. The speakers also discussed the classification of headache disorders, new developments in understanding migraines, and the use of different gadgets for migraine treatment. In this paper, a stochastic model for utensils manufacturing system with preventive maintenance (PM) is analysed in detail. The operation is affected by variation in the temperature dependent maintenance. The entire manufacturing process of utensils goes through four subsystems viz., Circle cutting subsystem 1, Pressing subsystem 2, Spinning subsystem 3 and Polishing & Packing 4. The system has series structure of all the subsystems. The system is put under PM on the winter time and after PM it operates as new. The PM time distributions are considered as arbitrary and the time to failure as well as repair of each subsystem follows a negative exponential distribution. All random variables are statistically independent. Several measures for evaluating the effectiveness of a system, including mean time to system failure (MTSF), system availability (in summer and winter), busy period of repairman and expected number of repairs (in summer and winter) are derived using a regenerative point technique and Markov process. Consider an agent traversing a graph of "gadgets", where each gadget has local state that changes with each traversal by the agent according to specified rules. Prior work has studied the computational complexity of deciding whether the agent can reach a specified location, a problem we call reachability. This paper introduces new goals for the agent, aiming to characterize when the computational complexity of these problems is the same or differs from that of reachability. First we characterize the complexity of universal traversal—where the goal is to traverse every gadget at least once—for DAG gadgets (partially), one-state gadgets, and reversible deterministic gadgets. Then we study the complexity of reconfiguration—where the goal is to bring the system of gadgets to a specified state. We prove many cases PSPACE-complete, and show in some cases that reconfiguration is strictly harder than reachability, while in other cases, reachability is strictly harder than reconfiguration. The current study aimed to investigate the level of awareness among rural women regarding the impact of household cooking utensils on food safety and family members’ health, as well as the associated factors. The study was conducted on subjects residing in selected villages within the Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. Data was collected through the administration of questionnaires and interviews. In order to determine the sample size, the Stephen Thompson equation was used from the comprehensive size, and the sample size was determined to be 360. The villages investigated in this study include Mahalla Musa, Kafr El-Sheikh, Kafr al-Arab, Desouk, Mansha’a al-Kubra, and Qalin. The sample distribution was based on the proportional representation of rural women in each village. Data collection took place during the months of August and September in the year 2023 AD. Statistical analysis included frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s simple correlation coefficient, t-test, and Cronbach’s alpha test. The primary findings of this study are as follows: The majority of the female participants (55.8%) exhibited an intermediate level of knowledge regarding the influence of household cooking utensils on food safety and family members’ health. Most participants (60%) acquired their primary information through subscriptions to cooking channels. The remaining sources of information were primarily traditional, including personal experience and expertise, family and relatives, and friends and neighbors, with rates of 55%, 45%, and 35%, respectively. Gadgets are communication technology devices. Gadget wars now make people's lives easier and more comfortable and bring changes in mindsets and even touch the ground of human character and attitudes. The impact of excessive use of gadgets is bad for the attitude of the younger generation in life. The impact is that it results in bad behavior that interferes with learning, interferes with the health and attitudes of the younger generation and causes excessive spending. So it takes direction and limits from parents for children to use gadgets. To overcome gadget addiction can be done psychologically and non-psychologically. Non-psychological actions can be done through pastoral counseling to addicts. Here the congregation is trained to be able to testify (not just fellowship) about God's work in his life. The pastoral witness is the answer to human needs regarding warmth, care and support, so pastoral care is aimed at the ability of the congregation to preach the gospel which is basically the priesthood of all believers. The results of the study found that preventing the bad influence of technology on youth, it has been explained that the most important thing is to invite young people to see technology based on God's Word then guide them and teach them to be responsible for the use of technology through pastoral counseling. There exists some cognitive bias in the study on the court tea utensils of the early Ming Dynasty, due to the influence of connoisseurship books and tea books in late Ming Dynasty. Description on the court tea utensils of the early Ming Dynasty in those connoisseurship books and tea books reflect the selective preference for the literati’s aesthetics of that time, which can not reveal the historical facts of the court tea ware in early Ming Dynasty. On the basis of reflecting on the late Ming literati's discourse, combined with documentary records and archaeological excavations related to the court, it is believed that the high footed cup is one of the types of tea ware, used with the teapot with almond-shaped body and teapot with the shape of monk’s hat. Combined with large teapots, tea cups of the same proportion as the high-footed cups, around 15 cm in diameter, may also be one of the types of tea ware used in the court of early Ming Dynasty. This Editors' Introduction defines the theme of 'affective technotouch' as referring to multidimensional embodied encounters with technologies which can trigger emotional and affective responses, while also being concerned with social, political, cultural and ethical dimensions of technological touch. With reference to neuroscience and developmental studies, we outline how touch is foundational in human experience. We then discuss contemporary technologies, such as haptic gadgets and care/companion robots, which illustrate the complexities of affective technotouch. The residential kitchen is often heavily colonized by microbes originating from different sources, including food and human contact. Although a few studies have reported the bacterial composition in cleaning utensils and surface samples there is limited knowledge of the bacterial diversity across different sample types, households, and countries. As part of a large European study, we have identified the microbiota of 302 samples from cleaning utensils (sponges and cloths), kitchen surfaces (sinks, cutting boards, countertops, tap handles, and a pooled sample of other handles) in 74 households across 5 countries (France, Hungary, Norway, Portugal, and Romania). In total, 31 bacterial phyla were identified, with Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Bacteroidota, and Actinobacteria being the most abundant. Despite large variations in households with respect to kitchen standards, kitchen practices, cleaning regimes, and diet and considerable differences in bacterial diversity between samples, eight bacterial genera/families commonly associated with environmental sources were identified in most samples and defined as a core microbiota: Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas, Enhydrobacter, Enterobacteriaceae, Psychrobacter, Chryseobacterium, Bacillus, and Staphylococcus. These genera/families were also among the bacteria with the highest relative abundance across all samples, in addition to Yersiniaceae, Kocuria, Pantoea, and Streptococcus. Taxa associated with potential pathogens and fecal indicators were low in abundance but broadly distributed throughout the households. The microbial composition of surface samples indicated that the microbial composition on kitchen surfaces is more characteristic for the particular country than the object type, while the microbiota of cleaning utensils was similar across countries but differed between types (sponge or cloth). IMPORTANCE There is limited knowledge of the characteristics, differences, and similarities of the bacterial composition in residential kitchens. Here, we report the microbiota of cleaning utensils (sponges and cloths) and five different surface samples in 74 households across five European countries. In addition to increasing the knowledge of the kitchen microbiota from many geographical areas, this study identified a core microbiota in European residential kitchens despite large variations in kitchen practices and kitchen design and standards across countries and households. Due to the widespread usage of electronic gadgets, electromagnetic interference and radiation pollution have become urgent problems. To reduce or eliminate electromagnetic pollution and interference, microwave absorption materials (MAMs) are urgently needed. Here, a solvothermal fabrication technique has been used to create a MoSe 2 structure that resembles a flower and a MnFe 2 O 4 @MnO 2 architecture that resembles a rod. To evaluate the properties of microwave absorption, single-layer and bilayer samples have been preapred with loading ratios of 15, 35 and 45 wt percent. When it comes to single-layer samples, a flower-shaped MoSe 2 structured sample with a 35-wt percent loading performs better in terms of microwave absorption. In bilayer absorbing samples, the top layer of the flower-like MoSe 2 structure exhibits high absorption capability. Moreover, samples with a higher loading ratio showed better absorption ability. Findings reveal that the primary reasons for the improvement in microwave absorption performance of bilayer samples are the layered structures are the higher electrical conductivity of Se in M o S e 2 , multiple reflections in the layered structure, and a higher polarization loss. Moreover, in bilayer samples, the thickness of both layers was regulated to tune the microwave absorption properties. China is the birthplace of tea culture with a long history, having a profound influence on the tea culture in East Asia and even the world. The Japanese tea ceremony originated from China, and the tea utensils from China are collectively called "Karamono Utensils". In the Middle Ages of Japan, the Karamono Utensils were introduced to Japan together with teawhisking method of the Song Dynasty. This paper examines the influence of Karamono Utensils in the formation and development of tea drinking spatial structure, style classification, tea people’s appreciation ability and Japanese utensils, thus maintaining that Karamono Utensils played the following roles in promoting the innovation of tea drinking spatial structure, providing the basis for various classifications of the Japanese tea ceremony, cultivating the aesthetic ability of Japanese tea people, and providing specifications and models for Japanese tea utensils. The crucial role played by Karamono Utensils in the formation of the Japanese tea ceremony profoundly proves the fact that the Japanese tea ceremony is formed by learning from the Chinese tea ceremony, which is another example of the unique charm of Chinese tea culture. Due to the lack of research on the embroidery types and needle techniques of the Gaoshan nationality of Taiwan, China, we used the two-dimensional verification method of literature and image analysis, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to illustrate their stitching techniques and to summarize the basic application rules of Gaoshan embroidery stitch. The results show that the Gaoshan nationality in Taiwan is closely related to the Han nationality. Since the Qing Dynasty, after the Gaoshan nationality traded with the Han nationality in Chinese mainland, the embroidery utensils of the Gaoshan nationality have been gradually improved. According to the degree of communication with the Han nationality, the embroidery of the Gaoshan nationality is divided into primitive ecological embroidery and immigrated embroidery. The primitive ecological embroidery has a strong primitive and religious atmosphere. The immigrated embroidery has been developed from the integration of Han and Gaoshan ethnic characteristics. A dual‐port, tapered‐fed fractal antenna with a partial ground is proposed for effective implementation in portable ultra‐wideband–multiple‐input multiple‐output devices. The array is modeled on a 41 × 71 × 1.57 mm3 dielectric FR4 substrate. Each circular radiator defected with a modified Koch–Snowflake fractal (4th iteration) provides 46.7% size miniaturization. The array yields 14.7 GHz bandwidth (3.3–18 GHz, 138%) by defecting the partial ground and offsetting the tapered feedlines. By embedding an H‐shaped decoupler and plus‐shaped slots in the ground, significant isolation (S21/S12 ≤ −16 dB) is accomplished. Various diversity metrics are investigated and are found to follow their permissible standards. To justify the simulated results, the fabricated array is tested where a favorable match between the results makes it a suitable candidate for high data‐rate wireless applications. The comparison of Sogdian images in China and Central Asia has become a hot topic in academic circles in recent years. However, there is no specific comparison of Sogdian images on burial utensils in the existing studies. Accordingly, the author proposes to compare the images on burial utensils by collecting together the remaining materials as much as possible and making corresponding data tables. First and foremost, this paper focuses on the actual quantity of the remains and gives a table, "Statistics of the Sogdian Burial Utensils with Images", to show this quantity for the first time: there are 30 remains of Sogdian burial utensils in China (26 sarcophagi and four ossuaries) and 23 Sogdian burial utensils in Central Asia (all are ossuaries). Secondly, there are several tables based on remaining materials in this paper, including "Distribution of the Shapes of Sogdian Sarcophagi in China", "Historical Period and Shape of Sogdian Ossuaries in Central Asia", "Religious Images Table of Sogdian Sarcophagi in China", "Table of Religious Image Types of the Sogdian Ossuaries in Central Asia" and "Common Religious Images of the Burial Utensils in China and Central Asia". Thirdly, further analysis shows that there are two image systems. Grounded in the above analysis, this paper comes to conclusions at three levels. Firstly, there are two shapes of burial utensils. Sarcophagi are widely seen in China whilst ossuaries are commonly discovered in Central Asia. As a result, the images on the sarcophagi in China are large in size and wide in narrative themes, whereas those on the ossuaries in Central Asia are small in size, emphasizing important content and narrative themes. All are rich in image representation. Secondly, there are three types of religious images on the burial utensils. The comparison results of image types show the common images in three categories: gods, funeral ceremonies and sacred fire sacrifice. Thirdly, the images on burial utensils have different characteristics regarding religious transmission. Zoroastrianism is dominant in Central Asia, while Zoroastrianism, Chinese mythology and Buddhist images are primary in China and images of tomb owners embodying secularity are also widespread in China. In this paper, an experimental investigation of heat transfer and fluid flow analysis of rectangular mini channel array under steady flow condition is carried out. The channel dimensions are selected in such a way that, flow within the channel is maintained hydro dynamically developed and thermally developing. This type of flow gives enhancement in heat transfer with considerably reduced frictional pressure loss. This study indicates that with a mini channel array maximum heat flux dissipation is extended up to 1.5 MW/m2 at a pressure drop of 8.671kPa. In addition to this, enhancement of heat transfer per unit pumping power (Q/Pp) is also increased by three fold for average heat flux dissipation of 1.25 MW/m2 as against 0.6 MW/m2 at Re = 191. Total minimum thermal resistance reported in this experimentation is 0.128K/W, which is less than the maximum estimated thermal resistance of 0.132K/W for processor having predicted thermal design power (TDP) value of 303. Increase of average heat flux dissipation and reduction in thermal resistance at higher Re (Re > 400) result in substantially reduction in junction temperature Tj(<338K). This results into increase in reliability and sustainability of high heat flux generating electronic gadgets with increase in speed of performing arithmetic computational capabilities. The study focused on Market Women Use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Gadgets in Nigeria. This is a survey study with a descriptive design. The population of the study consist of all the market women of the various markets in Nigeria, studied. From the target population, a sample size of 300 was drawn through the convenient sampling technique. The study employed the questionnaire method of data collection. The responses generated from 224 filled, returned and found usable questionnaires were collated and analysed for the purpose of matching the research objectives and answering the research questions. The statistical analysis method used in analysing the descriptive data was frequency count and simple percentages. The findings are: most market women own Smartphones; market women use their smartphones of mostly buying and selling and making and receiving payments online; challenges of erratic power supply, illiteracy and high cost of smartphone, were inherent. The study recommended among others that, the Federal, State and Local Governments should encourage the use of ICT gadgets by market women, by giving on-the-spot free lectures in form of training to market women in their market places. Polymer blends and nanocomposites are advanced class of materials with superior EM absorbing characteristics. Polymer-based materials can be tailored with nanoparticles to obtain resulting systems with high electrical conductivity, dielectric, and magnetic properties. This review focuses on bringing together efficient EMI shields prepared from a combination of polymer blends, suitable nanoparticles, and polymer composites. The main target is to perform material separation manually and via android program using a 5-axis movable robot arm. In this generated environment, there is information about the electrical circuits, mechanical structures and software of a robot arm that can be used in automation systems. There is a growing appetite for the inclusion of outcomes of empirical research into philosophical aesthetics. At the same time, evolutionary aesthetics remains in the margins with little mutual discussion with the various strands of philosophical aesthetics. This is surprising, because the evolutionary framework has the power to bring these two approaches together. This article demonstrates that the evolutionary approach builds a biocultural bridge between our philosophical and empirical understanding of humans as aesthetic agents who share the preconditions for aesthetic experience, but are not determined by them. Sometimes, philosophers are wary of the evolutionary framework. Does the research program of evolutionary aesthetics presuppose an intrinsic aesthetic instinct that would determine the way we form aesthetic judgments, regardless of the environment with which we interact? I argue that it does not. Imitation and mindreading are considered to be central features of the aesthetic module. Recently, and contrary to the prior view, it has been shown that imitation and mindreading are not likely to be innate instincts but socially learned, yet evolved patterns of behavior. Hence, I offer grounds for the idea that the cognitive aesthetic module(s) is socially learned, too. Access to mobile gadgets has increased exponentially, altering social and educational conditions in Africa. This also applies to the reading habits of rural learners in secondary schools. This paper investigates how mobile gadgets could be embraced to nurture the reading habits of rural secondary school learners in Southern Africa. This qualitative study employed a multiple case study design in five rural secondary schools in Beitbridge District, Matabeleland South, Zimbabwe, and five rural secondary schools in Vhembe District, Limpopo, South Africa. Focus group interviews were adopted as a data collection tool for this study. Data was then analysed thematically according to the objectives of the study. The findings reveal the benefits of mobile reading, which include sharing reading materials, easy access, and use by rural learners. The barriers to mobile gadget reading include a strong emphasis on academic, as opposed to leisure, reading and internet connectivity problems. The findings further reveal that some rural learners in Beitbridge did not have access to mobile gadgets. In addition, we found that some rural learners in Limpopo were using their mobile gadgets to read e-news and e-novels. Some of them spend five or more hours accessing social media for entertainment purposes only, and this has a negative effect on their reading. The study concludes that some rural learners in Southern Africa use their mobile gadgets to nurture their reading habits, although some challenges were identified. Readout of multiparametric environmental signals typically uses discrete sensing formats that individually require unique signal conditioning circuitry and/or processing pathways. Here, adaptable sensor networks composed exclusively of passive material architectures that enable spectrometric comonitoring of chemical or physical environmental signals are proposed. Herein, a single radio frequency (RF) reader wirelessly interacts first with an intermediate wireless relay coil—this is tunable in length and can be designed to conform around surfaces. This relay (that is fused on textiles or surfaces) is then wirelessly coupled to arrays of passive RF sensors with individually programmable flexibility/reactivity to environmental signals. Multiple chemical and physical signals can then be monitored within the single spectral readout of a wearable reader. This technique can probe over tunable length scales, and is robust to mechanical disturbances that limit present techniques. As a proof of concept, this approach is used to comonitor chemophysical metrics such as nutrients, temperature, pressure, pH, and more on the skin or in utensils with a single readout. Motivation Epistasis may play an etiologic role in complex diseases, but research has been hindered because identification of interactions among sets of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) requires exploration of immense search spaces. Current approaches using nuclear families accommodate at most several hundred candidate SNPs. Results GADGETS detects epistatic SNP-sets by applying a genetic algorithm to case-parent or case-sibling data. To allow for multiple epistatic sets, island subpopulations of SNP-sets evolve separately under selection for evident joint relevance to disease risk. The software evaluates the identified SNP-sets via permutation testing and provides graphical visualization. GADGETS correctly identified epistatic SNP-sets in realistically simulated case-parent triads with 10 000 candidate SNPs, far more SNPs than competitors can handle, and it outperformed competitors in simulations with many fewer SNPs. Applying GADGETS to family-based oral-clefting data from dbGaP identified SNP-sets with possible epistatic effects on risk. Dexiosis, which basically defines a simple handshake scene, is a gesture that has periodic differences in content or at least includes many different emotional meanings apart from this basic meaning over time. This gesture, as far as it is known iconographically in ancient times, was assimilated by different regions and societies from the Assyrian Kingdom to Late Antiquity. This gesture, which has found a meaning for itself in every society, appears as a reflection of situations such as agreement (marriage, support, etc.) and separation in general. Scenes on handshaking in ancient times draw attention as an intermediary motif that expresses the depiction of many feelings and thoughts accompanied by iconographic works. In the historical process, dexiosis scenes are especially seen in works containing iconographic depictions such as embossed blocks, ceramics, grave steles, wall paintings, sarcophagi, urns, metal utensils, bulla, mosaic, and numismatics. The Dexiosis scene is the representative of an understanding that prioritizes different emotions through such works. Within the scope of this study, some iconographic data selected from works with dexiosis scenes will be evaluated by considering their use on different archaeological materials with their semantic features. Incontrovertibly, COVID-19 has overwhelmed institutions of learning in a big way with various institutions in South Africa endeavoring to surmount the challenges in different ways. This article has reviewed various sources of secondary literature from mainly journals. Findings established that institutions of higher learning need to strengthen their institutional modus operandi of communicating coronavirus messages; to change the staff and students' mindset to strengthen response; advocacy to relay message to staff and students; infrastructural support to mitigate the effects of staff and students; and to avail requisite psychosocial support. The article also established the following hurdles: teaching adjustments and gadget deficits; disruption of school curriculum and academic calendar; and pitfalls of working from home. The article has recognized the need for institutions to enlist the support of social service professionals such as social workers in availing the requisite psychosocial support to both students and the staff. Nôth, Berger, Dubois, among others, show in their thesis the decadence due to the use of virtual reality and augmented reality devices, innovative gadgets with a fusion of illustrations, frames, audio, interactions, and reactions in an enriched element. The thesis supports three times: moments of its emergence, technological advances, and replacement of traditional media by immersive media. The monographic methodology enables conceptual alignment, concluding that technological advances lead us to a personal representation that is defined by alterations of physical reality, building new experiences.
