Kadın merkezli tartışmalar her zaman güncelliğinikorumaktadır. İslamcı camiada kadınla ilgili tartışmaların Osmanlı Devleti'ninson döneminde, kadının toplumsal hayata daha fazla girmesiyle arttığıgörülmektedir. Bu tartışmalarda; kadının çalışması, eğitimi, tesettürü ilekadının görev, hak ve sorumluluklarıyla ilgili konuların öne çıktığıgörülmektedir. Bu konular süreli yayınlarda da tartışılmaya devam etmektedir.Bu makalede, Altınoluk Dergisi'nin kadınlara yönelik eki olan ŞebnemDergisi'nin kadın tartışmalarına nasıl yaklaştığı, okuyucu kitlesine nasıl birperspektif sunduğu incelenecektir.Öncelikle süreli yayınlarda dergiciliğin önemine kısaca değinilecek, ardındankadın merkezli tartışmaların tarihçesine ve günümüzdeki tartışmalara yerverilecektir. Sonra Şebnem Dergisi tanıtılacak, derginin bu tartışmalara nasılyaklaştığı ele alınacaktır.

Bu tartışmalarda; kadının çalışması, eğitimi, tesettürü ile kadının hak, görev ve sorumluluklarıyla ilgili konular öne çıkmaktadır. Bu konular süreli yayınlarda da tartışılmaya devam etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Altınoluk Dergisi'nin kadınlara yönelik eki olan Şebnem Dergisi'nin kadın tartışmalarına nasıl yaklaştığı, okuyucu kitlesine nasıl bir perspektif sunduğu incelenecektir. Öncelikle süreli yayınlarda dergiciliğin önemine kısaca değinilecek, ardından kadın merkezli tartışmaların tarihçesine ve günümüzdeki tartışmalara yer verilecektir. Sonra Şebnem Dergisi tanıtılacak, derginin bu tartışmalara nasıl yaklaştığı ele alınacaktır. Women centered discussions are updated. Debate about women in Islamic society seems to increase in last period of Ottoman State,when women have more in social life. In discussions it is seen that issues related to women's work,education,headscarf, and duty, rights and responsibilities of women come to forefront. Issues are being discussed inperiodicals.In this work, it will be examined how Şebnem magazine which is additional of Altınoluk magazine approaches women's debate and put perspective on mass of readers. Importance of magazine business will be mentioned in periodicals. Then, history of women centered and contemporary debates will be presented. Şebnem magazine will be introduced and how magazine approached debates will be discussed. 232

By happenstance, we found ourselves in Istanbul, Turkey in early June 2013 only days after a mass anti-government protest developed in and around Gezi Park. In addition to informal discussions and interviews with academics and others, we visited the protest site and traveled throughout Istanbul to directly experience the atmosphere and events. We also conducted two studies of Turks’ participation in, and views of, the protests. This paper recounts the events in Istanbul that summer and reviews our own, and other, social science research on the protests and the protestors. We focus on who the protestors were and why they protested, as opposed to the less engaged actions of visiting the protests or following them in the media.

Bu çalışmanın amacı Bursa'nın üç merkez ilçesindeki kamu ortaöğretim kurumlarında çalışan öğretmenlerde işle ilgili olabilecek sağlık sorunlarını belirlemek, odyometre ile işitme durumlarını değerlendirmek ve gürültü ölçümü yaparak okulların gürültü seviyelerini saptamaktır.Okulların seçiminde ilçelere göre tabakalandırılmış, öğretmen sayılarına göre ağırlıklandırılmış, rastgele örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada örnekleme çıkan, Nilüfer'de 2, Osmangazi'de 5 ve Yıldırım'da 3 olmak üzere toplam 10 lisede 462 öğretmene (%80,2) ulaşılmıştır.Araştırmamız okullarda gürültü ölçümü, anket formu ve Genel Sağlık Anketi-12'nin (GSA-12) uygulanması, otoskopla kulak muayenesi ve odyometri ile işitme testi yapılması şeklinde dört basamakta uygulanmıştır.Çalışmamızda öğretmenlerin %89,8'inin çalışma koşullarından kaynaklandığını düşündüğü en az bir yakınması vardır. Öğretmenlerde en fazla baş ağrısı, boğazla ilgili ve kas iskelet sistemi ile ilgili yakınmalar vardır. Baş ağrısı meslek liselerinde ve 40 yaşın üzerindekilerde sık görülürken boğazla ilgili yakınmalar 10 yıl ve daha az çalışanlarda sık görülmektedir. Bu yakınmaları olanların işe devamsızlıkları daha fazladır.Öğretmenlerin %27,1'i GSA-12 puanına göre ruhsal hastalıklar için risk altındadır.Sınıflarda ölçülen gürültü düzeylerinin hepsi standartların üzerinde bulunmuştur. Öğretmenlerin %37,4'ü çalıştıkları ortamın gürültülü olduğunu düşünmekte, %53,0'ü zamanının yaklaşık olarak yarısında ve daha fazlasında sözel iletişimi bozacak kadar gürültüye maruz kaldığını düşünmektedir.Öğretmenlerin %29,0'unun saf ses odyometrisi sonucu normal değildir. Erkeklerde, 40 yaşın üzerindekilerde ve sık kulak çınlaması olanlarda işitme kaybı daha fazladır.Öğretmenlerde işle ilgili olduğu düşünülen yakınmaları azaltmak için okullardaki ve sınıflardaki öğrenci sayıları azaltılmalı, öğretmenlerde işle ilgili strese neden olabilecek iş yükü azaltılmalıdır.Ruhsal hastalıklar açısından öğretmenlere okullarda psikolojik danışmanlık hizmetleri verilmelidir.Öğretmenlere işitme taraması yapılması uygun olur.Çınlama varlığı işitme kaybı açısından ön bulgu olabilir. Bu nedenle çınlaması olan öğretmenler bu konuda bilgilendirilmeli, bu öğretmenlerin işçi sağlığı hizmetleri alması sağlanmalıdır. The aim of this study was the determine of possible work related health problems of teachers who work at public high schools that located in Bursa's three main district are defined, evaluate their hearing levels by audiometer and detect the noise level of schools with noise measurement.Randomize sampling method has been used to determine the schools and it's been stratified for districts and weighted for the number of teachers. In total 462 teachers in 10 high-schools (80,2%) which are 2 in Nilufer, 5 in Osmangazi and 3 in Yildirim were involved. This study have been conducted in four phase: measuring noise in schools, applying questionnaire form and the General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12), examining ear with otoscope and making hearing test with audiometer.89,8% of teachers have at least one complaint which is most possibly related to work environment. The most common complaints are headache, throat and musculoskeletal system. Headache is most seen in vocational high-schools and above the age of 40. Throat related complaints are seen among teachers who work under 10 years and less. The teachers who have these complaints have more absentee rates than the other teachers.27,1% of teachers are under risk of psychiatric disorders according to General Health Questionnaire -12 (GHQ-12).The results of noise measurements in classrooms are confirmed as higher than standart levels. 37,4% of teachers consider their work environment as noisy and 53,0% consider that they are exposed to noise that adversely affect the communication between them approximately at the half or more of their time.The pure tone audiometer results among 29,0% of teachers are not considered as normal. Hearing loss is revealed more among males and people who is younger than 40 years and have frequent tinnitus.The number of students in schools and classrooms should be reduced and also the work load of teachers should be optimised in order to mitigate their complaints that are most related to work environment.Teachers should be given psychologic counseling service to prevent psychiatric diseases.Hearing screening should be performe to teachers would be appropriate.Tinnitus may be a preliminary finding for hearing loss. Therefore, theachers who have tinnitus should be informed about this issue and also receive occupational health services to these teachers should provided. 145

At the invitation of the Turkish government, the Representative of the UN Secretary General on Internally Displaced Persons Francis Deng undertook a fact finding mission to Turkey in 2002. Deng summed up his findings and recommendations in a report submitted to the UN Commission on Human Rights. This report, co-published by the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) and the Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundations (TESEV) provides a comprehensive assessment of the Turkish government's implementation of Deng's recommendations on the basis of empirical data derived from field research conducted in provinces populated with Kurdish displaced. The report concludes that while some progress has been made in the official recognition of the problem of conflict-induced displacement, the adoption of a law to partially compensate the material losses of the displaced, there are significant outstanding issues concerning the right to return, property rights (including the right to restitution or compensation), the social and economic integration of the displaced, and finally the establishment of truth and justice concerning the gross human rights abuses committed by security forces against the Kurdish displaced in the 1990s.

Guatemala and Turkey are both examples of countries that have experienced violent conflicts in the past two decades. Turkey’s ongoing Kurdish Question, which took place primarily between PKK (Partiya Karkerên Kurdistan - Kurdistan Workers’ Party) combatants and the Turkish military, occurred between 1984 and 1999, involved a short-lived period of negative peace between 1999 and 2004, and has sparked again in recent years. In Guatemala a brutal ethnic conflict resulting in the death of 200,000 people was fought for 36 years between the military regime and the URNG (Unidad Revolucionaria Nacional Guatemalteca); it peaked between 1981 and 1984, yet persisted until the Peace Accords were signed in December of 1996. Although occurring in two different political and cultural settings, both of these conflicts had lasting consequences on individuals who continue to suffer from memories of disappearances and murders, as well as communities subsumed in collective trauma resulting from the ongoing effects of violence. In this paper, we will comparatively study individual and communal understandings of justice, acknowledgment of past mistakes, forgiveness, and trauma. The data for the Guatemalan case come from Riva Kantowitz’s fieldwork in Guatemala from 2003 to 2005, and the data for the Turkish case come from A. Betul Celik’s fieldwork in the southeast Turkey during this same period. In the following sections, we will briefly present relevant literature on forgiveness and reconciliation and discuss personal reflections from victims regarding their readiness (or not) to forgive the perpetrators, as well as the way in which a lack of forgiveness and reconciliation affect communities and society, and the comparative nature of these cases (i.e., is there any relevant transfer of learning from one case to another?) In the last section, we will discuss the comparative results and use these to make an argument for a multiple-level conceptual understanding of forgiveness. The paper focuses not on the process of trauma but its affects on the victims’ understanding of justice and forgiveness.
