In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the effects of beta vinasse obtained as a by-product of molasses added to egg quail rations on performance and egg quality. In the experimental study, 180 8-week-old Japanese quails were equally divided into three groups (5 subgroups, 12 quails in each group), 60 in each group. Trial groups, respectively; The control group without additives to the basal ration based on corn and soybeans was formed as 15 g / kg (1,5%) beta vinasse addition - Trial Group I, 30 g / kg (3%) beta vinasse addition - Trial Group II. At the end of the study, there were no statistically significant differences in the values of performance related parameters such as feed consumption, egg yield, egg weight and feed utilization rate (P> 0,05). When looking at egg quality parameters, significant differences (P 0,05). Egg shell thickness and eggshell breaking strength were measured at higher values in experimental group egg samples. As a result, we can say that the addition of beta vinasse to egg quail diets has an improving effect on egg shell quality., Bu çalışmada, melastan elde edilen bir fermantasyon ürünü olan beta Vinasın yumurtacı bıldırcın rasyonlarında kullanımının performans ve yumurta kalitesi üzerine olan etkilerini değerlendirmek amaçlandı. Araştırmada, 180 adet 8 haftalık yaşta Japon bıldırcını, her grupta 60 adet hayvan olacak şekilde üç gruba ayrıldı (5 alt grup her grupta 12 bıldırcın). Deneme grupları sırasıyla; mısır ve soya temeline dayalı bazal rasyona sırasıyla %0 (Kontrol), % 1,5 (15 g/kg) (Deneme I) ve % 3 (30 g/kg) (Deneme II) beta vinas eklenen gruplardan oluşturuldu. Araştırma sonunda, yem tüketimi, yumurta verimi, yumurta ağırlığı ve yemden yararlanma oranı gibi performansa ilişkin parametre değerlerinde istatistiki açıdan önemli farklılıklar tespit edilmedi (P>0,05). Kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırıldığında rasyona beta vinas katkısı yumurta kabuk kalınlığı ve yumurta kabuk direncini önemli düzeyde iyileştirdi (P0,05). Sonuç olarak beta vinasın her iki dozunun da yumurtacı bıldırcınların yumurta kabuk kalitesinde iyileştirici etkiye sahip olduğu belirlendi.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, çevrimiçi akademik kaynak kullanımında göz hareketlerini incelemektir. Bu kapsamda ülkemizde en yaygın kullanıma sahip çevrimiçi akademik kaynaklardan olan Web of Science, Google Akademik (Google Scholar) ve YÖK Tez Merkezi web sitelerinin kullanılabilirlik testi esnasında en çok problem yaşanan görevler belirlenmiş ve kullanıcıların bu görevleri gerçekleştirirken sergilediği göz hareketleri analiz edilmiştir. En çok problem yaşanan görevler, görevlerin tamamlanması gereken süre ile tamamlanma süreleri arasındaki farkın yüksek olmasına, görevlerin tamamlanma durumlarına, fare tıklama sayılarına, sabit bakış sayılarına, sabit bakış sürelerine, sabit bakış yerlerine ve kullanıcı yorumlarına bakılarak belirlenmiştir. Bu işlemler için Tobii Studio 3.4.2 programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma, çevrimiçi akademik kaynakları kullanma konusunda en az 2 yıl tecrübesi olan 21 akademisyen ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada geçerlilik için veri çeşitlemesi sağlanarak nicel ve nitel veriler birlikte kullanılmıştır. Bulgular sonucunda ara yüz tasarımındaki sıkıntılardan dolayı kullanıcıların yanlış yerlerde ve daha yoğun sabit bakış sergilediği, bu durumun da sabit bakış süreleri, fare tıklama sayıları ve görev tamamlama sürelerini olumsuz etkilediği ve memnuniyetlerini düşürdüğü belirlenmiştir. Bu problemlerin sebepleri incelenmiş ve çözüm için önerilerde bulunulmuştur., The aim of this study is to investigate the eye movements of participants during academic searching tasks. Since the Web of Science, Google Scholar, and Council of Higher Education Thesis Center are among the popular academic search platforms in Turkey, we focused on the usability of them. During the preliminary analysis, we explored the most problematic tasks, and then analyzed the eye movements. The problematic tasks were detected with respect to the unexpected differences of completion duration; the failure of completion status; unexpected number of clicks; high number of fixations; high fixation duration; unrelated fixation areas; and think aloud data. Tobii Studio 3.4.2 was utilized for both the collection and analysis of eye-tracking data. 21 academicians participated to the study. The results of the analysis indicated that due to interface design, the eye movements of participants tended to focus on unrelated parts of the screen. As a result, certain parameters of eye tracking demonstrated how participants’ eye movements tended to generate intense fixations, increased amount spent for unrelated areas, intense mouse clicks, and increased total amount spent for tasks. In addition to those parameters, users’ satisfaction levels showed a decrease as a result of unexpected experiences.

Striped hyena one of the rapidly declining numbers of carnivore in Turkey, field studies have been carried out since 2013 in order to determine the current status and ecology of Hatay and Şanlıurfa provinces. During the our field surveys, four skulls and mandibulae of striped hyena were found. The muscles and skin parts were cleaned in the laboratory and the skulls were kept in 1% sodium hypochlorite solution for 24 hours and then washed with water. Examination and measurements were made on the skulls and photographs were taken. Fascial length, Cranial length, Skull width, Cranial width, Skull base and Palatal length measurements of skulls; total length, total height, candular height and length of the dental series were measured on the mandible, respectively. The anatomical structures of the skulls were photographed from the top, bottom and side. Because of there was a lack of information about the anatomical measurements and structure of the skull of the striped hyena, this study was needed. In addition to the study, the biggest threat elements in Hatay and Şanlıurfa countryside of striped hyenas are briefly given. If we look at the purpose of this study after the detailed information given about the striped hyena, it should give priority to the skull that has not been study so far. In addition, the striped hyena is declining rapidly in Turkey, by the work we would like to take attention of the researchers to these creatures.

Buçalışmanın amacı, problem çözme öğretimi için tasarlanmış bir uyarlanabilirzeki öğretim sistemi olan ArtiBos’un kullanılabilirlik değerlendirmesi süreciniincelemek ve benzer sistemlerin kullanılabilirlik değerlendirmesi süreçlerineyönelik öneriler sunmaktır. Çalışmaya, 3 farklı ortaöğretim kurumundan seçilen90 öğrenci ile Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi-Matematik Eğitimialanlarından 30 uzman katılmıştır. ArtiBos’un kullanılabilirliği, UluslararasıStandartlar Enstitüsü (International Standards Organization – ISO) tarafındanyapılan kullanılabilirlik tanımında yer alan etkililik, verimlilik vememnuniyet kriterlerine göre değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada veri çeşitlemesisağlanarak nicel ve nitel veriler birlikte kullanılmıştır. Elde edilensonuçların benzer sistemlerin kullanılabilirlik çalışmasını yapmayı planlayanaraştırmacılar için yol gösterici olması hedeflenmektedir., Thisstudy aims at examining the usability evaluation process of ArtiBos, anadaptive intelligent tutoring system specifically designed for teaching ofproblem solving, and proposing usability evaluation recommendationsaccordingly. The study group consists of 90 students selected from 3 different secondaryeducation institutions and 30 experts from the fields of Computer Education andInstructional Technology and Mathematics Teaching. The usability of ArtiBos isevaluated according to the criteria of effectiveness, efficiency, andsatisfaction included in the definition of usability by the InternationalStandards Organization (ISO). In this study, quantitative and qualitative datawere used for triangulation. Study data included users’ screenshots duringperformance of the instructed tasks in ArtiBos, sound recordings taken from thethink aloud technique, interviews with students, and opinions of experts. Thestudy elaborates the procedure of usability tests of ArtiBos and makessuggestions for usability evaluation processes of similar systems. The objective of this trial was to determine the effect of exogenous amylase during the transition period in dairy cows on dry matter intake and lactation performance. The effect of exogenous amylase supplementation on lactation diets with low starch concentration (19.5% of dry matter) and dry period diets with moderate starch concentration (15.5% of dry matter) was evaluated. A total of 30 multiparus Holstein cows were randomly assigned to two groups fed diets with (n=15) or without amylase (n=15). Treatments were granular amylase (0.5 g of Ronozyme RumiStar per kg of total mixed ration dry matter) or control. The research was conducted starting at 21 d prepartum until 84 d postpartum. Starch and neutral detergent fiber concentrations averaged 15.5±0.5% and 15.7±0.9%, 42.6±1.1% and 43.4±1.2% in close up diets and 19.8±2.9% and 19.4±0.5%, 33.6±0.8% and 34.2±0.6% in lactation diets for control and amylase, respectively. Dry matter intake, milk yield and composition were evaluated for differences between treatments. Postpartum intakes of dry matter (DMI) and organic matter (OM), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), crude protein (CP), and starch intake were unaffected by treatment. Milk yield was not influenced by treatment, but numerically greater by 2.0 kg/d for cows fed amylase compared with control diet. The percentages of milk fat, protein and lactose were not impressed by treatment, however fat-, solid-, and energy-corrected milk were 2 kg/d greater for cows fed amylase diet than for cows fed control diet. Developing countries privatizeports with several expectations such as shifting the vast amount of investment responsibility to private parties andincreasing the efficiency of the port.Turkey is one of the countries where port privatization practices have beensignificantly experienced in recent years. Themajority of large ports in Turkey operated by the government weresuccessfully privatized through transfer of the operational rights andconcessionaires made considerable investments at these ports. However,privatization of Port of İzmir was interrupted after an extended period, andthe port has not received a significant investment in infrastructure andsuperstructure. This paper investigates the case of Port of İzmir to discussthe effects of lengthy port privatization process on users as well as on thecompetitiveness of the port by examining cargo handling statistics and conductingsemi-structured interviews with port users and related practitioners. The caseof Port of İzmir Alsancak suggests that although the benefit of port privatization to the public is controversial in port literature, prolonged processof port privatization is detrimental to port users, competitiveness of ports,and to the public., Gelişmekte olan ülkeler, büyük miktardaki yatırımsorumluluklarını özel sektöre sevk etmek ve limanların verimliliğini arttırmakgibi beklentilerle limanları özelleştirmektedir. Bu çalışma istatistikiveriler ile liman kullanıcıları ve sektör uzmanlarıyla yapılan mülakatlarıinceleyerek, uzun süren liman özelleştirme sürecinin liman kullanıcılarına velimanın rekabetçiliğine olan etkilerini tartışmak için İzmir Limanı vakasınıincelemektedir. Liman özelleştirilmesinin kamuya faydalı olup olmadığıkonusunda liman yazınında fikir birliğine varılamasa da İzmir Limanı vakası,uzun süren liman özelleştirme sürecinin liman kullanıcılarına, limanrekabetçiliğine ve kamuya zarar verdiğini göstermektedir.

Bu çalışma, geçiş dönemindeki süt sığırlarının rasyonlarına korunmuş kolin ve metiyonin ilavesinin, kuru madde tüketimi, süt verimi ve bileşimi, vücut kondisyon skoru, kan metabolik profili ve sağlık durumu ile bazı reprodüktif parametreler üzerine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada hayvan materyali olarak en az bir doğum yapmış 32 baş Holstein ırkı yüksek verimli süt sığırı kullanılmıştır. Süt sığırları 4 farklı gruba ayrılarak, Kontrol (KON) grubunda yer alan süt sığırlarının rasyonlarına deneme süresince herhangi bir katkı yapılmazken, Kolin Klorid (KOL) grubundaki süt sığırlarının rasyonlarına doğum öncesi 3 hafta ve doğum sonrası 3 hafta boyunca 75 gr/gün dozunda korunmuş formda kolin klorid((CholiPEARLTM, Kemin Industries), Metiyonin (MET) grubundaki süt sığırlarının rasyonlarına ise 42 gr/gün dozunda korunmuş formda metiyonin(MetasmartR, Kemin Industries), Metiyonin ve Kolin Klorid (Met + KOL) grubunda yer alan ineklerede 75 gr/gün dozunda korunmuş formda kolin klorid ve 42 gr/gün dozunda korunmuş formda metiyonin ilave edilmiştir. Hayvanların süt verimleri ve yem tüketimleri araştırma boyunca günlük olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın 8. günden başlayarak laktasyonun 70. gününe kadar her hafta art arda iki gün tüm sağımlardan süt numunesi toplanarak, süt analizleri yapılmıştır. Kan metabolik profil testleri için kan örnekleri araştırma boyunca haftalık olarak alınmış ve ticari kitlerle analiz edilmiştir.
