Introduction: Skin findings such as acne, hypertrichosis, and hyperpigmentation may be a clue for the diagnosis of eating disorders. There are studies on skin findings in eating disorders, but there is no study evaluating eating disorders in acne patients. We aimed to investigate eating disorders in acne patients and evaluate the effect of acne severity, quality of life, and body mass index (BMI) on eating disorders. Methods: Two hundred thirty‐two acne patients and 314 healthy controls were enrolled. Acne severity was detected according to Grading Acne Severity Scale (GAGS) by the dermatologists. Eating Attitude Test‐40 (EAT) and Acne Quality of Life Scale (AQLS) were filled out by patients. The controls filled out EAT. Individuals scoring EAT≥30 points were considered at risk for eating disorders. Results: The median EAT score (15 vs. 13) and the number of patients scoring EAT ≥30 (14.2% vs. 2.2%) were found to be significantly higher in the patients' group compared with control group (p: 0.005, p < 0.001). There was a significant positive correlation between EAT score and AQLS score but no significant relationship between acne severity and EAT score. A significant positive correlation was found between EAT scores and BMI. Conclusion: Eating disorders and acne are mostly seen in adolescence, and both have high biopsychosocial morbidity. It has also been said that Herpesvirus 6 and 7 reactivation is associated with pityriasis rosea-like eruption.[6] Our cases of herpes simplex and pityriasis rosea-like eruption occurred in male patients following the first dose of BioNTech, whereas one female patient suffered herpes zoster following the third dose of CoronaVac. The earliest finding was localized erythema diagnosed with fixed drug eruption on the anterior side of the trunk that started 3-4 h after the first dose of BioNTech in a 19-year-old male patient and gradually increased (Figure 1). Background/aim: Vitamins and minerals are thought to play an essential but not entirely clear role in developing, preventing, and treating nonscarring alopecia. Telogen effluvium, androgenetic alopecia, and alopecia areata are the most common forms of nonscarring alopecias. We would like to present a different perspective on laboratory abnormalities in patients with nonscarring alopecia. Materials and methods: A total of 467 patients (287 females, 180 males) were included retrospectively: One hundred and sixty patients in the telogen effluvium group, 101 patients in the androgenetic alopecia group, 99 patients in the alopecia areata group, and 107 patients in the hair loss group (patients who could not be diagnosed with any nonscarring alopecia and wanted to have an analysis due to the complaint of hair loss). Sociodemographic data, diagnostic distribution, and laboratory findings (hemoglobin, ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D, and TSH) were evaluated and compared. Results: The most common diagnosis was telogen effluvium in females and androgenetic alopecia in males. In women, hemoglobin (12.2% vs. 1.1%) and ferritin deficiencies (22.3% vs. 8.9%) were significantly higher than in men (p < 0.001, p < 0.001) Ferritin, hemoglobin, and vitamin B12 levels were significantly lower, and the number of patients with vitamin D, ferritin, hemoglobin and vitamin B12 deficiencies were significantly higher in the telogen effluvium group compared to the other groups. Laboratory abnormalities were detected least in the hair loss group. Conclusion: The number of patients with the highest abnormalities in all parameters was observed in the telogen effluvium group and females; therefore, we mainly suggest examining female patients with telogen effluvium first. Introduction: Henna, has been applied in eastern cultures for many years, as a hair dye and tattoo. Paraphenylenediamine (PPD) is a kind of aromatic amine added to henna. The formulation formed when PPD added known to be highly toxic. Case report: Here, a 16-year-old patient admitted to an emergency clinic with severe angioedema, rhabdomyolysis, and acute renal failure caused by PPD after henna ingestion for suicidal purposes, was presented. An emergency tracheotomy was performed to the patient because of severe respiratory distress, and the patient was followed up by connecting to the mechanical ventilator in intensive care. Conclusion: PPD poisoning is a life-threatening condition, and there is no specific antidote for PPD intoxication. Early intervention to the patient is essential because it is life-saving. Herbal medicines are widely used for dermatological and rheumatic complaints especially by elderly patients. Although the effects and side effects of the products are not known exactly, the tendency towards alternative medicine methods is increasing. A 66-yearold male patient was admitted to our clinic with redness and wounds on the knees after covering pennyroyal (Mentha pulegium) due to pain. The patient was diagnosed as irritant phytocontact dermatitis was given antiseptic dressings and antibiotic cream, systemically methylprednisolone, antihistaminic and antibiotic treatments. All lesions were treated with postinflammatory hyperpigmentation. We wanted to present our case because of the common use of such traditional therapies in our country as well as the first case of irritant phytocontact dermatitis due to M. pulegium in the literature. In some dermatological diseases, especially psoriasis, the appearance of specific lesions in the skin after trauma is called Koebner phenomenon. Psoriasis, vitiligo and lichen are the most related diseases with the phenomenon. The reverse Koebner phenomenon is the nonappearance or disappearance of the lesions of particular dermatoses at the site of injury. While the Koebner phenomenon is frequently encountered, very few reverse Koebner phenomenon have been reported in the literature. Post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN) is the most common chronic complication of herpes zoster and the most common pain syndrome associated with infections. There are medical and interventional treatment options in PHN, and some patients may be resistant to the preferred medical treatments. This situation negatively affects the quality of life of the patient. Interventional treatments come to the fore, especially in patients in whom medical treatments are not sufficient, and systemic side effects such as hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity occur. Erector spinal plane block (ESPB) is a recently described ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia technique. It is especially used to prevent post-operative pain due to trunk surgeries. In this study, ESPB was administered with methylprednisolone and bupivacaine in five patients who developed PHN after thoracic herpes zoster and did not have an expected response to three-month medical treatments. Pain severity was assessed using the Numerical Pain Rating Scale. We want to emphasize that ESPB, which is applied with steroids and anesthetics, is a speedy and longacting treatment option that increases the quality of life of the patient, has low side effects, and is a cost-effective treatment option.
