Aizanoi, Kütahya İli’nin 48 km güneybatısında yer alan Çavdarhisar ilçesi sınırlarında konumlanmaktadır. Günümüzde antik ve kırsal dokunun birlikte olması, kültürel miras ögeleri ile Unesco Dünya Kültürel Mirası Geçici Listesi’nde yer alması ile özel bir yere sahiptir. Tüm bu özellikleri ile Kütahya’nın önemli turizm merkezlerinden birisi olan Aizanoi erken dönemlerden itibaren yerleşim görmüş ve sahip olduğu doku ile 18.-19. yüzyıldan itibaren arkeoloji literatüründe yer almaya başlamıştır. Çalışmanın temel konusu olan Penkalas (Kocaçay) Çayı bölge yerleşimi ve tarımı için önemlidir. Penkalas’ta kapsamlı ilk çalışmalar 2011 yılında başlatılmıştır. Bölge turizminin geliştirilmesi, yerel kalkınmanın sağlanması ve kültürel mirasın gelecek kuşaklara aktarılması amacıyla Aizanoi Kazı Başkanlığı tarafından “Penkalas/Kocaçay Deresi 2 ve 4 Numaralı Köprüler Arası Islah Projesi”, hazırlanarak 2017 yılında Kütahya Kültür Varlıklarını Koruma Bölge Kurulu Müdürlüğü’nce onaylanmış ve uygulama süreci başlamıştır. Bu çalışmada, Penkalas Çayı’nda gerçekleştirilen kazı, araştırma ve restorasyon çalışmaları ile bu çalışmaların sonuçları değerlendirilecektir., Aizanoi is located within the borders of the Çavdarhisar district, 48 km southwest of Kütahya Province. Today, it has a special place with its ancient and rural texture together, its cultural heritage items and its inclusion in the Unesco World Cultural Heritage Tentative List. Aizanoi, one of the important tourist centers of Kütahya with all these features, has been inhabited since the early periods and has started to take place in the archaeological literatüre in the 18th-19th century with its texture. Penkalas (Kocaçay) Stream, which is the main subject of the study, is important for the settlement and agriculture of the region. The first comprehensive studies in Penkalas were started in 2011. To develop regional tourism, ensure local development and transfer cultural heritage to future generations, the “Penkalas/Kocaçay Stream No. 2 and 4 Bridge Improvement Project” was prepared by the Aizanoi Excavation Department and approved by the Kütahya Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board Directorate in 2017 and the implementation process has started. In this study, excavation, research and restoration works carried out in Penkalas Stream and the results of these studies will be evaluated.

In this study, the performance of cross-linked microbeads prepared through suspension polymerization was investigated for removal of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (4-HBA) from aqueous solution. Adsorption studies were conducted at different pHs (2.0–8.0), temperatures (282–308 K) and initial 4-HBA concentrations (1–500 mg/L). The maximum 4-HBA adsorption was 49.05 ± 2.89 mg/g at pH 2.0 (282 K). The adsorption data obeyed to the Langmuir isotherm model. The modified Ritchie second-order and the pseudo second-order kinetic model fitted the adsorption data. The 4-HBA adsorption capacity did not significantly change after 10 consecutive usages. Gibbs free energy changes of the adsorption were calculated as −24.372, −28.431 and −29.093 kJ/mol for 282, 298 and 308 K, respectively. The microbeads were also used for the removal of 4-HBA from spiked river water samples. The removal efficiencies of 43.2% to 68.8% and RSDs of 0.49% to 4.78% demonstrated the usability of the microbeads in application.

Son yıllarda hızla gelişen medikal turizm, kişinin tıbbi tedavi almak amacıyla kendi ülkesinden farklı bir ülkeye seyahat etmesidir. Sağlığın küreselleşmesi, teknoloji, ulaşım, bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin gelişimi medikal turizmin hızla ilerlemesine öncülük etmiştir. Bu ilerlemeyle birlikte medikal turizm alanında hizmet veren ülkeler hasta tercihini olumlu etkileyecek faktörlerin geliştirilmesine, yurt dışından hasta çekmeye veya tatile gelen turistlere sağlık hizmeti sunmaya önem vermişlerdir. Bu noktada son yıllarda önemi artan kritik unsur aracı kurumlardır. Aracı kurumlar tıbbi tedavi almak isteyen kişilerle sağlık kuruluşları arasında köprü görevi görmektedir. Tıbbi tedavi almak isteyen kişilere tedavi hizmetlerinin yanı sıra turizm ve seyahat hizmetleri de sunmaktadır. İnternet teknolojilerinin gelişmesi, kişilerin daha kısa sürede daha kaliteli tedavi arayışları, sağlık kuruluşu arayışında karar vermenin zor olması, aracı kurumların ince ayrıntısına kadar tedavi ve seyahat planı hazırlaması ve aracı kurumların tek bir maliyet ortaya koyarak daha hesaplı olması aracı kurumların medikal turizmdeki önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Dolayısıyla medikal turizmde aracı kurumların önemi göz ardı edilmemelidir. Bu kapsamda bu çalışmada medikal turizm ve medikal turizmdeki aracı kurumların rolü ele alınmıştır.

In Türkiye, postgraduate students are required to take the "Ph.D. proficiency exam" to pass the thesis stage and complete their education after completing their doctoral course period. The "proficiency process," which manifests itself as a long, difficult and stressful process, seems like a "steep mountain to cross" in the lives of doctoral students. This research examines the Ph.D. proficiency process from doctoral students' perspectives and determines the results. The interpretative phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used; with the criterion sampling method, which is one of the purposive sampling methods, interviews were conducted with 9 participants and 55 pages of data were obtained, and the data were analyzed with thematic analysis. When the proficiency exam is evaluated as a whole, it has been determined that it has some positive and negative results. At the end of this whole process, the proficiency exam has gained meaning as a "compelling process," "learning and development process," "great exam," "understanding of inadequacy," and "an indescribable process." The information obtained from the research is a guide for students who will take the exam in the future. In addition, based on the research results, suggestions for students and suggestions for the exam are presented.

Aizanoi is located on the Orencik Plain Plateau, within the borders of Cavdarhisar district, 48 km southwest of the Kutahya Province. In ancient times, the city was in the Phrygian Epictetus region. Although the earliest data of Aizanoi are the findings dated to the Paleolithic period, the earliest archaeological data belonging to the settlement are obtained from the mound on which the temple of Zeus is located and they are dated to the Early Bronze Age. During the Roman Imperial period, the city experienced its brightest era. Especially during the reign of emperor Hadrianus and Antoninus, the increasing development in construction activities and transformation of Aizanoi to a city that received intense migration, her a cosmopolitan structure. Until the middle of the 3rd century AD, Aizanoi continued to hold her leading political and religious position in the region. At the beginning of the 4th century AD, Aizanoi became a part of the Phrygia Prima province, which constituted by combining Phrygia and Caria. The city has an ancient texture with examples of public and religious architecture. In addition, it is an example of cultural heritage with its pastoral structure, which includes examples of local civil architecture from the Turkish period. With these features, it was accepted into the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Tentative List on 12 April 2012. Excavations were carried out in the area defined as the northern necropolis between 2012 and 2017. The Northern necropolis is located at the rear side of the theater in the northern part of Aizanoi and 1020 m above sea level. The depth of the graves is generally around 40-60 cm, which is not a very deep dug for burial; on the contrary, burial was carried out close to the surface of the soil. Determination of similar depth of graves throughout the north necropolis indicates that was a conscious preference. According to the data, the burial in the Northern Necropolis began in the late 2nd century BC and intensified in the 1st century BC and 1st century AD. Although it was rare, burial activities continued during the 3rd century AD. The common form of burial was cremation in from the 2nd century BC to the midst of the 1st century AD and then inhumation appeared in the early 1st century AD. Dorsal laying is popular in the inhumation burials. The types of the graves are simple earth, simple earth with plaque lid, shaft grave, chamber tomb and ostothece. The first two of these are the commonest type of graves in the Northern Necropolis. Both single and multiple burials were found during the excavations. Grave good are divided into two as outside and inside of the grave which includes terracotta figurines, pottery, glass, metal, bone, stone objects, and coins. The Aizanoi mask was found in a simple earthen grave of two young adults with destroyed skeletons in the Northern Necropolis in 2012. It has been observed that the first person was a young woman and the second also a young person. Since the bones were scattered, the lying direction or positions of the person is not clear. The grave goods are 5 iron nails, a bronze coin, a terracotta mask, a few pots, a lamp, the fragment of unguentarium and 2 thymeitarion bases, which were put outside of the grave an as offering. The terracotta mask was found in two pieces under the leg bones of the person. Broken and missing parts of hair and face were restored and completed. The terracotta mask found as a grave good should portray one of the characters of the Dionysiac world with two lines of band above the forehead and small horns on the forehead. In this study, the mask is examined in terms of iconography and in this context, its meaning and whom it portrayed are discussed. Then, the reasons for placing the mask into the grave are emphasized. The grave goods found inside and outside the tomb are also examined and the mask and tomb are dated.

Amaç: Ani Sensörinöral İşitme Kaybı (ASNIK) otolojik bir acil durumdur. Kalıcı ASNIK, çocuk hastaların sosyal yaşamını, psikolojisini ve dil gelişimini ciddi şekilde etkileyebilir. ASNIK tedavisi konusunda fikir birliği yoktur. ASNIK tanısı ile sistemik steroid tedavisine ek olarak hiperbarik oksijen tedavisi (HBOT) alan çocuk hastalarda etiyoloji, prognostik faktörler ve tedavi sonuçları karşılaştırıldı.Gereç ve Yöntemler: ASNIK tanısı ile HBOT uygulanan 8-18 yaşları arasında en az üç ay takip edilen 15 çocuğun dosyaları geriye dönük olarak incelendi.Bulgular: ASNIK’li hastaların yaşları 8 ile 18 yaş arasındaydı (ortalama 14.47±3.31 yıl). Yedi (% 46.7) hastada tam iyileşme, iki (%13.3) hastada kısmi iyileşme, iki (% 13.3) hastada hafif iyileşme, dört (% 26.7) hastada düzelme olmadı. Hastaların tedavi öncesi Saf Ses Ortalamaları (SSO) 28 ile 109 dB HL (ortalama±ss; 57.3±26.2 dB HL) arasında değişirken, tedavi sonrası PTA’ları 6 ile 88 dB HL (38±27.3 dB HL), (p=0.002 ). Yaş, cinsiyet, HBOT seans sayısı ve tedaviye yanıt arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmadı (sırasıyla p = 0.581, p = 0.904, p = 0.357, p = 0.184).Sonuç: Hiperbarik oksijen tedavisi, pediatrik SSNHL hastaları için güvenli ve iyi tolere edilen bir tedavi yöntemidir. Etik ve yasal sorunlara yol açmamak için ASNIK tanısı alan çocuk hastaların ailelerinin onayı ile tedaviye başlanması gerektiğini düşünüyoruz., Objective: Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSNHL) is an otological emergency. Permanent SSNHL can seriously affect the social life, psychology, and language development of pediatric patients. There is no consensus the treatment of SSNHL. We compared the etiology, prognostic factors, and treatment results in pediatric patients who received hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in addition to systemic steroid therapy with a diagnosis of SSNHL.Material and Methods: The files of 15 children were received HBOT with the diagnosis of SSNHL, between the ages of 8-18 years, and followed-up at least three months were retrospectively analyzed.Results: The ages of patients with SSNHL ranged from 8 to 18 years of age (mean 14.47±3.31 years). Seven (46.7%) patients had complete recovery, and two (13.3%) patients had partial recovery, two (13.3%) patients had slight recovery, four (26.7%) patients had no improvement. While pre-treatment PTAs of the patients were ranged between 28 to 109 dB HL (mean±sd; 57.3±26.2 dB HL), post-treatment PTAs were 6 to 88 dB HL (38±27.3 dB HL), (p=0.002). No significant difference was found between age, gender, number of HBOT sessions and response to treatment (p = 0.581, p = 0.904, p = 0.357, p = 0.184, respectively).Conclusion: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a safe and well-tolerated treatment modality for pediatric SSNHL patients. To avoid ethical and legal problems, we think that pediatric patients with a diagnosis of SSNHL should be initiated with the consent of the patient’s parents.
