This study examines the effect of different doses of hesperidin added to quail diets on growth performance of birds as well as on lipid peroxidation, some microbiological and physicochemical properties, and fatty acid profile of thigh tissue. In total 300 (male and female) Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) were divided into three groups: control (C) group fed only a basal ration, HES1 and HES2 groups fed basal diet with the addition of 1 and 2 g/kg hesperidin, respectively. It was observed that hesperidin addition to quail diets had no effect on the growth performance parameters, such as live weight, feed consumption and feed conversion ratio, regardless of examined dose. It was determined that hesperidin dose did not affect meat water activity (P> 0.05) but influenced pH or colour parameters [brightness (L*), redness (a*), yellowness (b*)] of meat (P< 0.05). Furthermore, the antibacterial effect of hesperidin supplementation was observed as counts of total mesophilic bacteria,Enterobacteriaceae,Lactobacillusspp.,Lactococcusspp.,Micrococcus/Staphylococcusand total psychrophilic aerobic bacteria were limited and variable (P< 0.05). It was determined that hesperidin had a statistically significant effect on lipid peroxidation in meat on day 1 and 4 of storage. In addition, it was observed that the added hesperidin had a positive effect on n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA; such as α-linolenic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid) in terms of the lipid profile in thigh tissue (P< 0.05). So, it can be concluded that the hesperidin addition to quail diets exerted influence on microbiological properties and lipid peroxidation of meat, which can influence shelf life quality of quail meat; but also hesperidin addition had a health-promoting effect on the fatty acid profile of thigh meat increasing n-3 PUFA content.

Bu araştırmada konsantre yem ağırlıklı klasik besi ile korunga kuru otu ağırlıklı besi karşılaştırılması amacıyla Kan-gal Akkaraman ırkı erkek kuzu besi performansları, yem tüketim ve yemden yararlanma özellikleri incelendi. Araştırma-da toplam 48 baş Akkaraman erkek kuzu kullanılmış ve besi 56 gün sürdürüldü. Deneme grupları Kontrol, % 10 çiçek-lenme (10Ç), %50 çiçeklenme (50Ç) ve tohum bağlama (MB) döneminde biçilen korunga ile yapılmış olup; besi başı ve besi sonu canlı ağırlıkları belirlendi. Besi sonu ve başı canlı ağırlıkları bakımından gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark oluşmadı (P>0.05). Günlük canlı ağırlık artışları gruplar (Kontrol, 10Ç, 50Ç ve MB) en yüksek grup 10Ç bulundu. Ancak, günlük canlı ağırlık artışı bakımından gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark oluştu (P, In this study, fattening performances, feed consumption and feed efficiency characteristics of Kangal Akka-raman male lambs were investigated in order to compare the classical fattening with concentrated feed and the fatten-ing with sainfoin roughage. In the study, a total of 48 Akkaraman male lambs were used and the fattening lasted 56 days. Experimental groups were made with sainfoin harvested at the control, 10% flowering (10Ç), 50% flowering (50Ç) and seedpod (MB) periods; Live weights at the beginning and end of fattening were determined. Bozkır otu Türkiye’nin florasında doğal olarak yetişen çalı türlerinden biridir. Bu çalışmaya konu alınan üç bozkır otu genotipi Konya ilindeki meralardan toplanmıştır. Kırmızı, yeşil ve geçit tipi olarak adlandırılan üç bozkır otu genotipinin çiçeklenme (Temmuz), tohum bağlama (Eylül) ve tohum olgunluğu (Kasım) büyüme dönemlerindeki yem değeri incelenmiştir. 2018 yılında yapılan bu çalışma tesadüf bloklarında bölünmüş parseller deneme desenine göre 3 tekerrürlü olarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada kuru madde, kül, ham yağ, ham protein, NDF, ADF ve ADL oranları belirlenmiş ve NDF ve ADF değerleri kullanılarak Göreceli Yem Değeri (GYD) hesaplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucuna göre, bozkır otunun biçim dönemine ait kuru madde oranı %55.07 ve %61.78 arasında, ham protein oranı %9.22 ve %9.75 arasında değişmektedir. En yüksek NDF oranı ortalama olarak %64.35 ile tohum olgunluğu döneminde elde edilmiş iken en yüksek ADF değeri ortalama olarak %44.28 ile çiçeklenme döneminden elde edilmiştir. Temmuz (14.56%) ve Kasım (13.16%) aylarında elde edilen ADL, en yüksek ADL değeridir ve bu değerler istatistiki olarak aynı grupta yer almaktadırlar. Eylül ayında (tohum bağlama döneminde) bozkır otunun göreceli yem değerinin (92.2) diğer aylardaki yem kalitesinden yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Geçit tipi, Temmuz ayındaki kuru yem periyodu döneminde diğer tiplerden daha yüksek kaliteli yem sunduğu ifade edilebilir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre Orta Anadolu için kuru yem periyodu içerisinde yer alan Temmuz ayında bozkır otu hayvanlara 4. kalite sınıfında yem sağlaması sebebiyle kurak alanlardaki meralardan yem elde etmede bozkır otunun ön plana çıktığını göstermektedir., Forage kochia is one of the shrub species naturally growing in the flora of Turkey. The three kochia genotypes included in this study were collected from the pastures of Konya province. We investigated the feeding values of three kochia genotypes namely; red, green and intermediate forms at various growth stages; flowering (July), seed setting (September) and seed ripening (November). The research was designed in Split Plots in Randomized Block Design with three replications in 2018. We analyzed the Dry Matter, Ash, Ether Extract, Crude Protein, NDF, ADF, and ADL. Out of the figures we derived from the laboratory analyses we figured out the Relative Feed Value (RFV) using NDF and ADF. According to the result DM percentage ranged between 55.07% and 61.78%, crude protein percentage between 9.22% and 9.75% depending on the cutting periods. Maximum NDF value was obtained in seed ripening stage with an average of 64.35% while the maximum ADF value was obtained in bloom stage with an average of 44.28%. The ADL received from July (i.e., 14.56%) and November (i.e., 13.16%) was the maximum ADL value, and these values were statically in the same group. The RFV of forage kochia in September (Seed Settings) is higher quality (i.e., 92.2) than other periods. We can express that the Intermediate phenotype during the dry feed period in July provides higher feed quality than the two phenotypes. The research results show that forage kochia stands out by obtaining feed from rangelands in drought areas because of delivering the 4th quality standard to livestock in July, which is in the dry feed period for Central Anatolian.

In theexperiment, 480 slow-growing male Hubbard Isa Red-J broiler chicks with 28thdays age were divided into 4 main groups and 4 subgroups in each main group. Inthe experiment, feed was given ad libitum to the control group (group 1). 2th,3th and 4th groups were fed %75, %50, %25 of food consumed by control group. Thechicks in the experimental groups were released to the pasture between at 7:00- 19:00. Chicks in the experimental groups were fed with alfalfa, unbranchedbromine and thyme grass on free range area. At 42 and 84th days, 128 chickstaken randomly and equally from each group were slaughtered to examine carcasstraits. In terms of most of carcass traits; even though similar results wereseen between %75 restricted groups and control group in 42th, significantdifferences were sharpened among control and treatment groups in 84th day. Bu çalışma kaba yem kaynağı olarak, Sivas ilinde 4 farklı ilçe ve 7 farklı köyde yetiştirilen korunga bitkisinin 4 farklı biçim döneminde biçilmesinin, yeşil ve kuru ot verimi, besin maddeleri ve enerji düzeyleri, kondanse tanen içerikleri üzerine etkileri ile kuru yonca yerine farklı oranlarda korunga kuru otu kullanımının süt ineklerinde süt verim ve kompozisyonu üzerine etkilerini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu kapsamda korunga bitkisinin numuneleri toplanıp besin madde ve kondanse tanen analizileri yapılmıştır. Ayrıca in vitro gaz üretimi, in vitro gerçek sindirilebilirlik, NH3-N ve uçucu yağ asiti analizleri yapılmış ve korunga ile yonca değişen oranlarda süt ineklerinin rasyonuna katılıp süt verimi belirlenmiş; sütte protein, yag ve üre azotu analizleri yapılmıştır. Deneme 1 kapsamında tomurcuklanma başlangıcı, %10 çiçeklenme, %50 çiçeklenme ve meyve bağlama olmak üzere 4 farklı biçim döneminde 7 farklı deneme tarlasından 4'er paralel numuneler toplanıp yeşil ve kuru ot verimi belirlenmiştir. Daha sonra bu numunelerde besin madde ve kondanse tanen analizleri yapılmıştır. Yeşil ve kuru ot verimi bakımından dönemler arasında önemli bir farklılık oluşmamıştır. Biçim dönemine bağlı olarak ham protein içeriği giderek azalırken; kondanse tanen miktarında artış gözlenmiştir. Deneme 2 kapsamında ise farklı dönemlerde biçilen numunelerde in vitro analizler yapılmıştır. İn vitro gerçek sindirilebilirlik, tomurcuklanma başlangıcında (%79,8) en yüksek düzeyde bulunmuştur. Deneme 3 kapsamında ise kuru yonca yerine %0, %33, %67 ve %100 oranında korunga kuru otu kullanılmasının süt verimi, sütte protein ve süt yağı gibi verim parametreleri ile rasyonların sindirilme dereceleri ve kanda bazı metabolitler üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Yonca yerine korunga kuru otu kullanımının yem tüketimi, süt verimi, sütte protein ve yağ içeriğinde bir değişime yol açmamıştır. Sütte üre azotu korunga kullanımı ile azalmıştır., In this study, it was investigated effects of four different harvest stage in sainfoin herbage on green and dry herbage yields, feed ingredients, condensed tannin content in four different district and seven distinct village on Sivas. Also, the effects of different amounts of sainfoin instead of used replace dry alfalfa herbage on milk yield and composition of dairy cows were evaulated. With this aim, samples of sainfoin were collected and condensed tannin analysis were conducted. Beside these, in vitro gas production, in vitro digestibility, NH3-N and volatile fatty acid contents were analysed, sainfoin were added to alfalfa with divergent ratios in dairy cattle ration and milk yield, milk protein, milk fat and urea nitrogen contents were analysis. In the first experiment, green and dry herbage yields were evaluated of four parallel samples collected from four distinct harvest period consisting of budding stage, 10% flowering, 50% flowering and seedpod, in seven different experimental fields. Later, condensed tannin and feed ingredients were analysed on these samples. Between stages, it was detected that green and dry herbage yields were not significant. Based on harvest stage, it was detected that crude protein content was decreased, condensed tannin amounts were increased. Within the second experiment, in vitro analyses were implemented of samples collected on four discrete harvest stages. In vitro digestibility was found to be 79.8% with highest level on budding stage. In the third experiment, sainfoin dry herbage were used instead of alfalfa as variable parameter. Parameters such as milk yield, milk protein, milk fat as well as ration digestibility degree and some blood metabolits were evaulated in sainfoin dry herbage usage in ratio of 0%, 33%, 67% and 100% instead of dry alfalfa herbage on dairy cattle. It was concluded that use of sainfoin instead of dry alfalfa had no effect on feed consumption, milk yield, milk protein and fat, milk urea nitrogen levels were decreased with sainfoin usage.
