Abstract

To determine individual characteristics (i.e. sociodemographic and medical, obstetric and gynecological, and musculoskeletal and anthropometric parameters) for greater pelvic floor distress (PFD). A cross-sectional study was performed in 253 women with pelvic floor dysfunction. PFD was assessed using the Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20 (PFDI-20). The score of Urogenital Distress Inventory-6 (UDI-6) was used to perform secondary analyses. Sociodemographic, medical, and obstetric & gynecological parameters were recorded. Waist and hip circumferences and pelvic diameters were measured as anthropometric parameters. Pearson test, t-test, and linear regression analyses were conducted with a significance level of 0.05. Education level (r = −0.23, p <.001; r = −0.24, p <.001), number of vaginal births (r = 0.15, p =.012; r = 0.12, p =.048), total vaginal birth weight (r = 0.15, p =.021; r = 0.16, p =.019), and Body Mass Index (r = 0.12, p =.043; r = 0.16, p =.007) were significantly correlated with the higher PFDI-20 and UDI-6 scores. The maternal age at the first vaginal birth (r = −0.13, p =.049) and pelvic antero-posterior diameter (r = 0.17, p =.013) were also significantly correlated with higher UDI-6 score. Linear regression analyses revealed that younger age (Beta coefficient (β) = −1.10, p =.005), greater symptom duration (β = 2.28, p =.001), the presence of chronic cough/constipation (β = 25.72, p =.001), and increased total vaginal birth weight (β = 2.38, p =.030) were associated with the greater PFDI-20 score. Increased pelvic antero-posterior diameter (β = 0.88, p =.049) was a contributory factor for the greater UDI-6 score. This study showed that younger age, chronic cough/constipation, higher total vaginal birth weight, greater symptom duration, and pelvic antero-posterior diameter can be contributors of greater PFD. Abstract

Background: Evaluation of physical activity by condition-specific surveys provides more accurate results than generic physical activity questionnaires. The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Kaiser Physical Activity Survey (KPAS) in Turkish pregnant women. Methods: In the translation and cultural adaptation of the KPAS, the 6-phase guidelines recommended in the literature were followed. The study included a total of 151 pregnant women who were assessed using the Turkish version of KPAS, the Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire, and the SenseWear Pro3 Armband. To determine the test-retest reliability, the KPAS was reapplied after 7 days. The psychometric properties of KPAS were analyzed with respect to internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and concurrent validity. Results: Cronbach α coefficient indicating the internal consistency of the Turkish KPAS was found to be .60 to .80, showing moderate reliability. The intraclass correlation coefficient for test-retest reliability was very strong (intraclass correlation coefficient: .96-.98). The total KPAS scores were found to be moderately correlated with the total Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire score and the total energy expenditure value on the SenseWear Pro3 Armband. Conclusions: This study showed that KPAS is a valid and reliable instrument for evaluating physical activity in Turkish pregnant women in different aspects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Urinary incontinence (UI) is a common pelvic floor dysfunction in pregnancy. The relationship between biomechanical changes and pregnancy-related UI has not been fully elucidated. To investigate the association of various musculoskeletal and anthropometric changes in pregnancy that affect gestational UI. The study was conducted with 275 pregnant women. Ninety-three, 110 and 72 women were in first, second and third trimesters, respectively. Incontinence Impact Questionnaire for UI, Urogenital Distress Inventory-Short Form and Incontinence Severity Index were applied. Lumbar lordosis measurement was performed by Baseline Bubble Inclinometer while diastasis recti abdominis (DRA) measurement was carried out by finger-width method. Manual muscle test for rectus abdominis and right and left external oblique abdominal muscles, and Benign joint hypermobility test with Beighton scoring method were also applied as musculoskeletal measurements. Tape measurement at the waist, umbilical and hip levels, caliper with bi-iliac and bi-trochanteric diameters were also recorded as anthropometric measurements. Significant associated factors for UI were: umbilical DRA (OR = 1.57; p =.012); rectus abdominis muscle strength (values of 3 and below, OR = 1.2; p =.014); umbilical environment (OR = 1.1; p =.029); bi-iliac diameter (OR = 1.1; p =.05;) and bi-trochanteric diameter (OR = 1.3; p =.05), respectively. Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı meme kanseri cerrahisi sonrası Aksillar Web Sendromu (AWS) ve Herpes Zoster enfeksiyonuna bağlılenfödem gelişen erkek bir olguda fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyonun etkinliğini araştırmaktı. 79 yaşındaki olgunun üstekstremitesinin mezura ile çevre ölçümü gerçekleştirildi ve bu ölçümden elde edilen veriler FRUSTUM model ile volumetrikveriye dönüştürüldü. Lokal doku sıvı oranı, MoistureMeterD Compact (MMDc, Delfin Technologies, Kuopio, Finland) cihazı iledeğerlendirildi. Lenfödemle ilişkili ağırlık ve gerginlik algısı, üst ekstremite fonksiyonları, omuz eklem hareket açıklığı ve yaşamkalitesi sırasıyla Görsel Analog Skalası (GAS), Kol, Omuz ve El Soruları Anketi Kısa Formu (Quick-Dash), universal gonyometreve Lenfödem Yaşam Etki Skalası (LYES) ile değerlendirildi. Hastaya, kompleks boşaltıcı fizyoterapi (KBF), kinezyo bantlama,manuel tedavi, proprioseptif nöromuskuler fasilitasyon egzersizleri ve nöromusküler eğitim uygulandı. Tedavi fazı haftada 3 gün,7 hafta olmak üzere toplamda 21 seans olarak uygulandı. Tedavi sonrası ev programı olarak, KBF’nin koruma fazı kapsamındaself-drenaj, kompresyon giysisi, cilt bakımı ve egzersiz verildi. Tedavi sonrası sonuçlarına göre etkilenen ve etkilenmeyenekstremite hacimleri arasındaki fark 828,96 cm3’ten 206,69 cm3’e ve etkilenen ekstremitedeki lokal doku sıvı oranı kol için1,97’den 1,33’e, önkol için 1,82’den 1,34’e azaldı. Buna ek olarak, üst ekstremite fonksiyonu ve yaşam kalitesinde olumluyönde iyileşme gözlendi. Bu olgu sunumu, erkek bir olguda fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyonun meme kanseri cerrahisi sonrasıgelişen AWS ve herpes zoster enfeksiyonu ile ilişkili lenfödemde etkili olduğunu göstermiştir.

Abstract

Aim: The aim of the present study was tocompare the quality of life, the functional status of upper extremity, and physicalactivity level among women with mild, moderate, or severe breast cancertreatment related lymphedema. Materialsand Methods: Eighty-three women with a diagnosis of lymphedema (24%mild, 41% moderate, and 35% severe) participated in the present study. The presenceand severity of lymphedema were evaluated by circumferential measurement. TheTurkish versions of the Lymphedema Quality of Life (LYMQOL), Quick Disabilityof Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH), International Physical ActivityQuestionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF) were used to assess quality of life, thefunctional status of upper extremity, and physical activity level, respectively.Results: There weresignificant differences in qualityof life and functional status of upper extremity among patients with mild, moderate,and severe lymphedema (p0.05). Abstract

Aletli dalışlarda basınç altında nitrojen gazının solunması sebebiyle uzun ve derin dalışlarda ortaya çıkan rahatsızlık Dekompresyon Hastalığı olarak isimlendirilmektedir. Bu rahatsızlığın önlenmesi için sportif amaçlı dalışlarda dalış tabloları kullanılmaktadır. Ancak profesyonel amaçlı dalışlarda bu risk dalış tablolarıyla engellenebilecek boyutta değildir. Son zamanlarda yapılan bilimsel çalışmalarda dalış öncesinde akut olarak uygulanan sub-maksimal aerobik egzersizin ve akut olarak uygulanan 30-40 Hz'lik tüm vücut titreşiminin venöz gaz kabarcıklarını küçültmede etkili olduğu gözlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada dalış öncesinde uygulanan egzersiz ve titreşim uygulamalarının venöz gaz kabarcıkları üzerine olan etkisini incelemek amaçlanmaktadır. Dalış öncesinde uygulanan egzersiz ve titreşimin dalış öncesi ve sonrasındaki kan akımı değerleri ve kanın ultrasonik yansıtıcılığa bağlı parlaklık değeri üzerine olan etkisi de bu çalışma kapsamında incelenmiştir. Abstract

Objective The aim of this case report was to describe the use of complete decongestive therapy (CDT) with a new approach in the management of a male with facial edema related to Morbus Morbihan Syndrome (MMS). Methods An 18-year-old male with MMS after acne treatment was the subject of this case report. Volume assessment was performed with distance measurements of the facial area using standard reference points, the overflow method, and the measurement of the percentage of subdermal fluid. Participant-reported symptoms of lymphedema (feeling of swelling and tightness) and body image perception were evaluated with the visual analogue scale, and the severity of anxiety was evaluated with the State and Trait Anxiety Inventory. In addition, the participant's perception of improvement was determined using a Likert-type scale. Evaluations were performed at baseline, week 4 (during the treatment), and week 8 (immediately after treatment). CDT was applied to the participant in a total of 24 sessions, 3 d/wk for 8 weeks. Results Compared with the baseline measurement, the facial distances (tragus-mental cavity, tragus-mouth corner, mandibula-nasal canal, mandibula-internal orbita, mandibula-external orbita, mental cavity-internal orbita, mental cavity-mandibula, right–left tragus, and hairline in the forehead-mental cavity), the volume, and the percentage of subdermal fluid of facial area were decreased at the week 4 and 8 measurements. The anxiety score, participant reports of feelings of swelling and tightness, and body image perception improved after the 8 weeks of treatment compared with baseline. Conclusion This case report described the use of CDT in treating edema and participant symptoms in an individual with facial lymphedema related to MMS. Body image and level of anxiety improved. Matematik ve sanat her ne kadar birbirinden farklı olarak bilinse de yüzyıllar boyunca matematik, sanatı ve sanatçıları etkilemiştir. İlerleyen zamanla matematiğin bütün dalları daha genel ve soyut bir bilim dalı haline gelmiş olup `Zaman` kavramı uzayın 4. boyutu olarak ele alınmaya başlamıştır. Möbius Şeridi'nden bahsetmeden önce, yeni bir bilim dalı olarak karşımıza çıkan, Uzay'ın 4. boyutu olan uzaklık ve ölçü kavramından da bahsetmemiz gerekmektedir. Topoloji bir bakıma köşeleri olmayan şekillerin geometrisidir. Möbius Şeridi; tek yüzlü, süreklilik gösteren, devingen bir formdur. Möbius şeridi sadece matematikçilerin değil aynı zamanda bilim, fen, edebiyat ve sanat alanlarının da ilgisini çekmiştir. Bu doğrultuda iki ayrı disiplin olan Möbius Şeridi ve Seramik Sanatı arasındaki ilişkinin aktarılması amaçlanmıştır.Möbius şeridi ilk olarak Seramik Sanatına M.Ö 600-640 yıllarında Oryantalizan Döneminde yapılmış olunan Orta Yaban Keçisi Uslub'unda oinokhoe, stomnosu formaların da solgun ve kremsi astarlar üzerine geometrik bezemeler ile yapılmıştır.* Vazo ressamları boşluk bırakmama korkusu nedeni ile hayvan figürleri arasında kalan kısımlara bitkisel motifler ve soyut geometrik motifler ile doldurmuştur. Kullanılan bazı soyut geometrik şekillerin isimleri bilinmemesiyle beraber tam olarak Möbius şerididir. Bu tez çalışmasında, Möbius Şeridi tanımı, tarihçesi ve uygulama alanları incelenmiş olup sadece matematiksel olarak değil aynı zamanda plastik sanatlar dalları arasındaki yeri ve önemi de araştırılmıştır. Seramik sanatı içerisinde Möbius Şeridi'nin değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Möbius şeridinin formdan önce bir bezeme örneği olduğuna yer verilmiştir. Möbius Şeridi'nin Seramik Sanatı üzerindeki etkisi ve konumu incelenir iken seramik sanatçılarından da örnekler verilmiştir. Tüm bu bilgiler doğrultusunda kişisel uygulamalar yapılmıştır. Vase painters are filled with plant motifs and abstract geometric motifs between the grounds of fear of not leaving a space and animal figures. It is precisely the Mobius Strip with some unknown abstract geometric shapes being used.In this thesis study, the definition, history and application areas of Mobius Strip have been examined and not only mathematically but also the place and importance among the branches of plastic arts. The evaluation of the Mobius Strip in the Ceramic Art was made. It is mentioned that the Mobius Strip in an example of a figure before the form. Çalışmanın amacı, internal anal sfinkter yetmezliğine bağlı fekal inkontinansı (Fİ) olan erkek hastada Pelvik Taban Kas Eğitimi(PTKE) ile kombine Ekstrakorporeal Manyetik Stimülasyonnun (ExMS) Fİ semptomları üzerine etkilerini araştırmaktı. Fİ’si olan26 yaşında erkek hasta çalışmaya dâhil edildi. Subjektif iyileşme algısı Likert-tip skala ile, inkontinans şiddeti Wexnerİnkontinans Derecelendirme Skalası ile; yaşam kalitesi Görsel Analog Skalası (VAS) ile değerlendirildi. Pelvik taban kaskuvveti ve enduransının değerlendirilmesi için anal perineometrik ölçüm yapıldı. Tüm sonuç ölçümleri başlangıç, 8 haftalıktedavi sonrası ve 6. ayda değerlendirildi. PTKE, ilk hafta günde 5 set egzersiz ile başladı. Her hafta 5 set artırılarak 4. haftada20 sete çıkarıldı ve 6 ay boyunca günde 20 set ev programı şeklinde uygulandı. ExMS ise, her bir seans 20 dk (10dk 10Hz,10dk 50Hz) olmak üzere haftada 3 seans, 8 hafta süresince uygulandı. 8. hafta ve 6. ayda subjektif iyileşme algısı,başlangıçtaki durum ile karşılaştırıldığında “daha iyi” olarak bildirildi. Pelvik taban kas kuvveti ve enduransı, başlangıç,tedaviden hemen sonra ve 6. ay takipte sırasıyla; 2,06-4,2-4,1 kPa ve 1-3,7-3.5 sn olarak bulundu. Wexner ve VAS skorlarısırasıyla 7-3-3 ve 3,7-0,5-0,6 olacak şekilde iyileşti. Hastanın 8. hafta ve 6. aydaki egzersiz uyumu VAS iledeğerlendirildiğinde 5,9-4,7 cm olarak bulundu. Bu vaka raporu, PTKE ve ExMS’nin Fİ’si olan bu hastada etkin bir tedaviolduğunu göstermiştir. Abstract

Aletli dalışlarda basınç etkisi ile ortaya çıkan azot narkozunun (derinlik sarhoşluğunun) metal performans üzerine etkisi olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada vücut yağ oranı farklı bireylerin basınç altındaki mental performansları incelenmiştir.21?38 yaşlarındaki balık adamlardan oluşan 20 kişilik örneklem grubu, 1 yıl arayla, C. Raven tarafından geliştirilen Progresif Matrisler Testinin S4 formu kullanılarak 4 atm ve 1 atm basınç altında, mental performansları ölçülmüştür.
