Kadının toplumsal, tarihsel ve sosyolojik alanlardaki yerinin pek çok farklı disipline konu olduğu görülmektedir. Özellikle sosyoloji alanında kadın ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalar kadının gerek özel gerek toplumsal alanlardaki durumunu aydınlatmaktadır. Sosyolojinin bir alt dalı olarak görülen beden sosyolojisi hem Türkiye sınırları içerisinde hem de dışında kalan coğrafyalarda, özellikle Batı’da çeşitli araştırmalara konu olmaktadır. Yaklaşık olarak yirminci yüzyılın sonlarından itibaren sistemli bir şekilde araştırmaya başlanan beden sosyolojisi bedenin tarihsel ve sosyal süreçler içerisinde oluşumunu incelemekte ve spor, tıp, edebiyat ve benzeri gibi farklı alanlarda da kullanılmaktadır. Edebiyat eserlerinde kurgulanan dünyaların ve karakterlerin analizlerine ilişkin sıklıkla başvurulan sosyolojik eleştiri kuramının altında değerlendirilecek olan beden sosyolojisi bu çalışmanın yöntemini oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmaya milattan önce beşinci yüzyılda kaleme alınan Aristofanes’in Lisistrata adlı tiyatro eseri ile bu eserden hareketle uyarlanan ve Kartal Tibet’in yönetmenliğini yaptığı 1983 yılında çekilen Şalvar Davası adlı sinema filmi konu olmaktadır. Eserlerde kurgulanan kadın karakterlerin içinde bulundukları durumların ve motivasyonlarının incelenmesi hedeflenmektedir. Her iki eserde yer alan kadın karakterlerin politik ve kamusal alana dâhil olmak adına bedenleri üzerinden yürüttükleri mücadele incelenecektir. İki farklı sanat alanı arasındaki benzerlikleri karşılaştırmalı bir çalışma yürüterek saptamaya çalışmak ve eserlerde yer alan kadın karakterlerin yürüttükleri mücadelenin sonunda sınırlarını zorladıkları ataerkil kültürü nasıl pekiştirdiklerini yansıtabilmek bu çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır.

Immunotherapy involving the programmed death-1 (PD-1)/the programmed death-ligand (PD-1/PD-L) blockade is an understudied tumor therapy approach in cases of adenosarcoma. PD-L1 and PD-L2, and tumor protein p53 (p53) were examined in 20 uterine adenosarcoma cases, and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and tumor-associated macrophages were counted in tumor tissue using immunohistochemistry. While CPS PD-L1 positivity with 1% and 10% cut-off values was observed in 40% and 10% of tumors, respectively, CPS PD-L2 positivity with 1%, 10% and 50% cut-off values was observed in 100%, 85% and 50% of the tumors, respectively. The CPS PD-L2 positivity with a 50% cut-off value was positively correlated with tumor grade and the presence of sarcomatous overgrowth and lymphovascular invasion (LVI) (p = 0.025, p = 0.025, and p = 0.025, respectively). Nine of 11 high-grade adenosarcomas and none of the low-grade adenosarcomas showed mutant type p53 expression (p = 0.000). However, PD-L1 expression and tumor-infiltrating immune cells did not correlate with clinicopathological parameters. The CPS PD-L2 positivity with a 50% cut-off value was also positively correlated with mutant type p53 expression (p = 0.024) and tumor-associated macrophages density (p = 0.024). Bu araştırmada ortaokula devam eden ergenlerin bilinçli farkındalık ve psikolojik iyi oluş düzeylerinin cinsiyete ve sınıf düzeyine göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı ve bilinçli farkındalık puanlarının psikolojik iyi oluş düzeylerini yordayıp yordamadığı araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca bilinçli farkındalık ile psikolojik iyi oluş arasındaki ilişki ve bu ilişkide cinsiyetin düzenleyici etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılında Ankara’nın Çankaya ilçesindeki bir devlet okulunun beşinci, altıncı, yedinci ve sekizinci sınıfına devam eden 149’u kadın ve 184’ü erkek olmak üzere toplam 333 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Araştırmada bilinçli farkındalık düzeyini belirlemek için Çocuk ve Ergenler için Bilinçli Farkındalık Ölçeği (ÇEBFÖ), psikolojik iyi oluş düzeylerini belirlemek için de Stirling Çocuklar İçin Duygusal ve Psikolojik İyi Oluş Ölçeği (SÇDPİOÖ) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada ölçek puanlarının normallik varsayımı basıklık ve çarpıklık katsayıları incelenerek değerlendirilmiştir. Normallik varsayımının sağlanması nedeniyle verilerin analizinde t testi, ANOVA, regresyon analizi ve Pearson Korelasyon Katsayısı kullanılmıştır. Ölçeklerin yapı geçerliğinin test edilmesinde doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) kullanılmıştır. ÇEBFÖ’nün Cronbach alfa değeri .70, SÇDPİOÖ’nin ise .90 olarak bulunmuştur. Araştırmada kadın ve erkek öğrencilerin bilinçli farkındalık puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark gözlenmiştir. Bilinçli farkındalık ve psikolojik iyi oluş puanları sınıf düzeyine göre anlamlı farklılık göstermemiştir. Bilinçli farkındalığın psikolojik iyi oluşun anlamlı bir yordayıcısı olduğu bulunmuştur. Kız öğrencilerde bilinçli farkındalığın psikolojik iyi oluşu yordama etkisi erkek öğrencilerde daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Bulgular literatür çerçevesinde tartışılmış ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

“Amerika” gezi gözlemlerine dayalı Avrupa ve ABD kültürünün hesaplaşmasına radikal bir boyut kazandıran edebi bir eserdir. Okuyucuya sunulan/yansıtılan gerçekliğin yazar tarafından eserde nasıl yansıtıldığının incelenmesi önem arz etmektedir. Bu nedenle çalışmanın temel amacı, Amerikan yaşam biçimi ve kültürüne farklı bir perspektifle bakan Baudrillard’ın kendi kavram repertuvarları olan “Hipergerçeklik” ve “Simulasyon” çerçevesinde eserde geçen kavramları yorumlamak ve değerlendirmektir. Bu çalışmada, Baudrillard’ın sosyal ve kültürel öğelerin dışında “Yıldızsal Amerika” tanımlaması ve betimleme yaklaşımları ele alınarak göndermelerde bulunduğu ve okuyucuda oluşturmak istediği yeni anlam ve bakış açısı tartışılmaktadır. Aynı zamanda yeni düzen ve özgür yaşamı niteleyen hipergerçek Amerika ile başarısız Avrupa’nın modern Batı anlayışı üzerine sorgulama, inceleme ve araştırılmasını kapsamaktadır. Nitekim Avrupa belli bir feodalite, aristokrasi, burjuvazi, ideoloji ve devrim gibi tipleri icat ederek ütopya konusunda başarısız taraf iken Amerika ütopyanın gerçekleştiği yer olmuştur., "America" is a literary work bringing a radical dimension to the reckoning of European and US culture based on travel observations. How the author conveys the reality presented / reflected to the reader is esential. Therefore, the overall aim of this study is to interpret and evaluate the concepts in “America” such as Hyperreality and Simulation with different and broad perspective of Baudrillard on the American lifestyle and culture. In this study, Baudrillard's definition of "Astral America", apart from social and cultural elements, and the new meaning and perspective he wants to create in the reader are discussed. It also includes the investigation, questioning, and research of the modern Western understanding of the failed Europe and hyperreal America, characterizingthe new order and free life. Whilst Europe is the unsuccessful party of utopia by creating a certain type of feudalism, aristocracy, bourgeoisie, ideology and revolution, America is where utopia is achieved.

J. M. Barrie’s Peter Pan (1904) tells the story of a flying boy named Peter Pan who persuades Wendy and her siblings to take them to Neverland. Peter is a boy abandoned by his mother. He gathers orphans to Neverland and fights with his group called the Lost Boys, his nemesis Captain Hook, and other children. In this story, Peter is seen as a little cute boy, but also has a dark side. The desire to make a little girl Wendy a mother to herself and the Lost Children, and Wendy's acting like a mother are some signs of psychological instability in children. In the context of child psychology, the relationship between mother and child has been discussed by many authors and psychoanalysts. In Jung's work, which was first published in 1938 as Die Psychologischen Aspekte des Mutterarchetypus, it is remarkable that the cause of child neurosis is largely due to the “mother”. The absence of a mother figure in the child's life or the mother's failure to comply with the “holy mother” archetype can lead to behavioral disorders in the child. The Child Thief is a rewrite of Gerald Brom’s novel, inspired by the Peter Pan story. Brom creates a gothic atmosphere, choosing to tell “his own world” and “dark stories behind fairy tales” instead of Barrie's Peter Pan. He interpreted the mother complex seen in the Peter Pan story in his own style and reflected it on his characters. In this study, Jung's archetypal criticism theory will be the fundamental theoretical source, and the “mother complex” in Peter Pan and The Child Thief will be examined and compared., J. M. The current study highlighted the ARID1A and SALL4 expression and described histopathologic and immunohistochemical features of ovarian seromucinous tumors (SMTs) including borderline tumors (SMBTs) and seromucinous carcinomas (SMC; namely as endometrioid carcinoma with mucinous differentiation according to WHO 2020 classification). The clinicopathological and immunohistochemical features of 38 SMTs were analyzed, including ARID1A, SALL4, estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), TP53, keratin 7, keratin 20, CEA, CDX2, WT1, PAX2, and PAX8. SMCs and SMBTs comprised 68.4% (n = 26) and 31.6% (n = 12) of all SMTs, respectively, studied. The mean age of diagnosis was 47.4 years and 41.4 years, and the mean size was 9 cm and 7.45 cm for SMC and SMBT, respectively. There was endometriosis or endometriotic cyst in 61.5% of SMCs and 50% of SMBTs. Immunohistochemically, loss of ARID1A staining was observed in 15 (65.2%) of 26 SMCs, and 3 (33.3%) of the 12 SMBTs. Only one SMC showed focal SALL4 positivity. All SMTs were positive for ER, PR, PAX8, and keratin 7. SMTs were negative for WT1, keratin 20, CDX2, and CEA (negative in 66.7% to 92.3% of the cases). While all SMBTs and 24 (92.3%) of 26 SMCs exhibited “wild-type” TP53 staining, 2 (7.7%) SMCs, both were stage III, showed mutant type TP53 overexpression. We indicate there is a similarity between SMC and SMBT according to the immunohistochemical features. SMBTs are keratin 7, ER, PR positive tumors, and some of them have loss of ARID1A expression and are likely to develop in the background of endometriosis similar to SMC.

Aim: We previously synthesized a polyethylene glycol-based norepinephrine transporter-targeted agent, BG-P-TAT, which has a benzylguanidine and a triazolyl-tetrac group. This targeted conjugate showed suppression of neuroblastoma tumor progression. In this study we aimed to synthesize nanoparticles to encapsulate the chemotherapeutic agent paclitaxel for targeting neuroblastoma tumors by using benzylguanidine so that it can compete with norepinephrine for uptake by neuroendocrine cells. Methods: Biocompatible poly(lactide-co-glycolic acid)-polyethylene glycol was chosen to prepare targeted nanoparticles for safe delivery of the chemotherapy agent paclitaxel. Result: Paclitaxel concentration was 60% higher in neuroblastoma tumors of mice treated with paclitaxel encapsulated in targeted nanoparticles than with non-targeted nanoparticles. Conclusion: These findings support the targeted delivery of paclitaxel as a chemotherapeutic agent for neuroblastoma.

We have previously reported that the αvβ3 inhibitor P-bi-TAT, a bifunctional version of the thyroid hormone metabolite tetraiodothyroacetic acid (tetrac) conjugated to polyethylene glycol (PEG) MW 4000, has excellent efficacy in a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) mouse model. However, bioanalysis problems due to PEG polydispersity and large-scale synthesis issues led to a search for new molecules, culminating in the discovery of fb-PMT, a conjugate of tetrac and monodisperse PEG36, with a lipophilic 4-fluorobenzyl group at the opposite end of the PEG chain. fb-PMT reduces GBM tumor growth and viability by up to 98%, is suitable for large-scale synthesis, and is amenable to bioanalysis using mass spectrometry-based detection. We also showed that changes in lipophilicity at the opposite end of the PEG chain from the active tetrac component affected the proton NMR chemical shift of the tetrac moiety in D20 and brain levels of the compound after subcutaneous dosing.

Therapeutic targeting of the norepinephrine transporter (NET) function with benzylguanidine (BG), conjugated with the high-affinity thyrointegrin αvβ3 antagonist triazole tetraiodothyroacetic acid, TAT, via noncleavable bonding to poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG400) (P) might allow for effective treatment options in neuroblastoma. BG-P-TAT is a dual-targeting agent, targeting the NET function and the thyrointegrin αvβ3 receptors that are overexpressed in neuroblastoma and other neuroendocrine tumors. Various cancer cells and actively dividing tumor-endothelial cells express the thyrointegrin αvβ3 receptors. In this work, the novel compound BG-P-TAT was synthesized and evaluated in the neuroblastoma SK-N-FI cell line for improved targeting and to offer a new strategy for patients with neuroblastoma. BG-P-TAT demonstrated significant suppression of neuroblastoma tumor progression, growth, and viability in a dose-dependent manner. In conclusion, BG-P-TAT represents a potential lead candidate for the treatment of neuroblastoma and other neuroendocrine tumors.

Background: Ischemic heart disease is the main cause of death globally. Cardioprotection is the process whereby mechanisms that reduce myocardial damage, and activate protective factors, contribute to the preservation of the heart. Targeting these processes could be a new strategy in the treatment of post-ischemic heart failure (HF). Triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4), which have multiple effects on the heart, prevent myocardial damage. Results: This study describes the formulation, and characterization, of chemically modified polymeric nanoparticles incorporating T3, to target the thyroid hormone receptors. Modified T3 was conjugated to polylactide-co-glycolide (PLGA) to facilitate the active targeting of PLGA-T3. Modified T3 and PLGA-T3 was characterized with 1H-NMR. Protective role of synthesized Phosphocreatine (PCr) encapsulated PLGA-T3 nanoparticles (PLGA-T3/PCr NPs) and PLGA-T3 nanoparticles (PLGA-T3 NPs) in hypoxia-mediated cardiac cell insults were investigated. Conclusions: Data demonstrated that PLGA-T3/PCr NPs represent a potentially new therapeutic for the control of tissue damage in cardiac ischemia and resuscitation.

Ürün çeşitlendirme ve uluslararası çeşitlendirme gelişmekte olan ve gelişmiş ekonomilerdeki firmalar tarafından uygulanan stratejilerdendir. Bu stratejiler firma performansı üzerinde olumlu veya olumsuz etkiler yapmakta ve bu etki firmaların içinde bulundukları bağlama göre değişebilmektedir. Ürün çeşitlendirme, uluslararası çeşitlendirme ve firma performansı arasındaki ilişkileri etkileyen faktörlerden birisi işletme gruplarıdır. İşletme grupları kendilerine bağlı firmalara bu stratejileri sürdürmede kaynak ve bilgi sağlamaktadır. Yazındaki çalışmalar, farklı ekonomilerde çeşitlendirme stratejileri ve firma performansı arasındaki ilişkileri ve bu ilişkideki aracı faktörleri incelemişlerdir; ancak, işletme grubuna bağlılığın rolüne daha az değinilmiştir. Bu nedenle bu çalışma, ürün çeşitlendirme, uluslararası çeşitlendirme ve firma performansı arasındaki ilişkileri işletme grubuna bağlılığı dikkate alarak tartışmaktadır. Bu çalışma ayrıca ilgili yazın çerçevesinde araştırma gerektiren önermeler sunmaktadır. Önermeler, firmaların ürün ve uluslararası çeşitlendirmeden faydalanabileceğini; ancak, bu stratejilerin diğer yandan firma performansına zarar verebileceğini ileri sürmektedir. Ayrıca, işletme grubuna bağlılık bu ilişkilerde olumlu veya olumsuz aracı etki yapabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, çeşitlendirme stratejileri, firma performansı ve işletme grubuna bağlılık arasındaki ilişkiler üzerine ileride yapılabilecek araştırmalar için temel oluşturulması amaçlanmaktadır.

José Saramago’nun Körlük romanı, unutması zor çeşitli sahneleriyle insan tabiatını anlamak için mükemmel bir örnek sunar. Romanda ani gelen körlüğün sebep olduğu gerçek olamayacak kadar distopik olan ortam insanlığın karanlık taraflarının ortaya çıkmasının tetikleyicisi olmuştur. Zaten vahşi bir düzende yaşayan, tarihi sömürüler, açlık ve savaşlarla dolu olan insanlık, medeniyeti hala içselleştirememiş fakat öyle görünmeyi başarabilmiştir. Mecbur kaldığında medeniyeti bir kenara bırakarak bencilleşir çünkü artık önemli olan medeni görünmek değil, hayatta kalmaktır. Bütün tedbirsizliği, umursamazlığı ve otoriterliğiyle devletin, kolektif hareket etmeyi unutmasıyla gittikçe yalnızlaşan, umarsızlaşan modern bireyin de bu ortamın oluşmasında büyük bir payının olduğu okuyucunun gözlerinin önüne serilmekte olan roman bu açıdan çok başarılı bir toplumsal eleştiri ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışmada ele alınacak olan konu; Büyük Öteki diye adlandıracağımız, Sembolik düzende yer alan ve yardım talep edilen devlet ve din gibi kurumlar, karakterlerin Gerçek düzleme geçmesiyle anlamlarını yitirecek, körler bu kurumlardan umutlarını keseceklerdir. Bunun sonucunda, hayatta kalmanın tek yolunun birlikte hareket etmek olduğunu ve çıkış yolunu bulmanın sadece kendi ellerinde olduğunu kabulleneceklerdir. Bu kabulleniş süreci Gerçek düzlemde başlamıştır. Dolayısıyla makalede Körlük’te distopik bir anlatımla insanlığın ani gelişen körlükle birlikte Gerçek düzleme geçip kendi benliklerini tanımaları ve bu farkındalığa ulaşmadaki süreç Lacan’ın Gerçek (Réel) kavramı bağlamında incelenecektir., José Saramago’s Blindness is a perfect example to understand human nature since it presents us with the scenes that is hardly forgettable. In the novel, an unimaginable dystopia of which the reason is a sudden, unexpected epidemic of blindness, triggers people’s dark side to come out. Humanity, who already live in savage circumstances, of whom the history is full of wars and hunger, could not internalize the civilization but succeed to pretend to look civilized. However, when compelled, humans, putting aside civilization, become selfish since the only important thing is to survive not to pretend. Readers are presented to which both the government who are incautious, careless, authoritarian, and modern individuals who are forgetful about resisting together as they get lonely, have an equal share in creating this dystopia. With transition to the Real order, such notions as government and religion lose their meanings, Blinds give their hope up on these establishments from whom help is claimed and that are called as Big Other in the article. As a result, they give into the idea that the way of survive is to move together and they should count on themselves only in order to find a way out. This process of acknowledgement begins in the Real order. Consequently, in the article, it will be analyzed that the dystopic narration of Blindness, that the people’s realization of their inner nature when they pass into the Real order leads to a realization process in the context of Lacan’s concept of Real (Réel).

Receptor-mediated cancer therapy has received much attention in the last few decades. Neuroblastoma and other cancers of the sympathetic nervous system highly express norepinephrine transporter (NET) and cell plasma membrane integrin αvβ3. Dual targeting of the NET and integrin αvβ3 receptors using a Drug-Drug Conjugate (DDC) might provide effective treatment strategy in the fight against neuroblastoma and other neuroendocrine tumors. In this work, we synthesized three dual-targeting BG-P400-TAT derivatives, dI-BG-P400-TAT, dM-BG-P400-TAT, and BG-P400-PAT containing di-iodobenzene, di-methoxybenzene, and piperazine groups, respectively. These derivatives utilize to norepinephrine transporter (NET) and the integrin αvβ3 receptor to simultaneously modulate both targets based on evaluation in a neuroblastoma animal model using the neuroblastoma SK-N-F1 cell line. Among the three synthesized agents, the piperazine substituted BG-P400-PAT exhibited potent integrin αvβ3 antagonism and reduced neuroblastoma tumor growth and cancer cell viability by >90%. In conclusion, BG-P400-PAT and derivatives represent a potential therapeutic approach in the management of neuroblastoma.

İkinci Dünya Savaşı’nın ardından gerçeklik kavramı sorgulanmaya başlanmış, gelişen teknoloji ve yeni yaşam düzeniyle birlikte edebiyatta ve birçok alanda postmodernizm kavramı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bilindiği gibi, postmodernizm, modernizme karşı bir eleştiri getirmiş ve onu sorgulamıştır. Katı ve kesin kuralları ortadan kaldıran Postmodernizm edebiyat eserinin sınırlarını da sorgulamış ve yeni yaklaşımları tartışmaya açmıştır. Edebi eserde yeni tarihselcilik, parodi, pastiş, üstkurmaca ve anti-kahraman gibi kavramlardan söz edilmeye başlanmıştır. Böylece postmodern bir yaklaşımla eserde bütünlük ve düzen ortadan kalkmış, bir parçalanmışlıktan söz edilmeye başlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada Michel Foucault’un XIX. Yüzyılda Bir Aile Cinayeti/ Annemi, kız kardeşimi, erkek kardeşimi katleden ben, Pierre Riviere adlı eseri, okurmerkezlilik temel alınarak, postmodernist bir yaklaşımla eleştirilmeye çalışılacaktır. Bu eser, postmodern bir eser niteliği taşıdığı için postmodernizm kavramına ve eserin yapısına kısaca değinilecektir. İncelenen eser, raporlardan bir bütün ortaya koyacak şekilde oluşturulmuştur. Bu nedenle modernist eserdeki normal bir kurgu düzeni yerine postmodern bir özellik taşımaktadır. Foucault iktidar, beden, özne ve özgürlük gibi kavramları tartışmaya açmıştır; dolayısıyla eserlerinde bahsedilen kavramları iktidarın yaşamın her alanında bir gözlemci niteliğinde yer aldığı görüşü ile ortaya koymuştur. Foucault ve onun iktidar kavramına değinilerek bu çalışmada amaçlanan, iktidar, beden, , özne, özgürlük gibi kavramlara yaklaşımını ortaya koyarak bir anti-kahraman eleştirisi yapmaktır.

This new approach, known as new historicism, is closely related to history and literature. Unlike previous historical theories which think that a literary text reflects the period in which it was written, the new historicism emphasizes how much a literary text is affected by the historical conditions in which it was produced. At the same time, this theory takes into account the social atmosphere of that period and the psychological state of the author. In short, unlike the methods of criticism that evaluate the texts by isolating them from the culture and geography they belong to, the discourse also took into account the social, cultural, political and literary atmosphere in which the texts were formed. Literature in New Historicism is a proof that can be a source of history. New Historicism has basically emerged as a reaction to traditional historical understandings that emphasized the importance of literary works and ignored the non-literary. We see that the New Historicism offers rich examples in terms of perspective. While the new Historicalist critic aims to reveal the contradictions set up by the historian, on the other hand, he reveals an understanding of history that is against traditional history-centered interpretation in the evaluation of the work in question. In this study, New Historicism, which has an important place in literary studies, will be explained through the work "Giorgi Saakadze: The Great Warrior" in terms of the view whether he is a traitor or patriot. The author of the book, translated into Turkish by İbrahim Goradze, draws attention to the fact that the book may be historical fiction, while highlighting history with all its nakedness. Edebi bir metnin yazıldığı dönemi yansıttığını düşünen önceki tarihsel teorilerin aksine yeni Tarihselcilik edebi bir metnin üretildiği tarihsel koşullardan ne kadar etkilendiği üzerinde durur. Yeni Tarihselciliğin perspektif açısından zengin örnekler sunduğunu da görmekteyiz. Yeni Tarihselci eleştirmen, tarihçi tarafından kurgulanan çelişkileri ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlarken diğer yandan da söz konusu eserin değerlendirilmesinde geleneksel tarih merkezli yoruma karşıt bir tarih anlayışını ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışmada edebiyat incelemelerinde önemli bir yeri olan Yeni Tarihselcilik, ele alacağımız Gürcü yazar Simon Kvariani’nin adlı post modern romanı “Giorgi Saakadze: Büyük Savaşçı” eseri üzerinden vatan haini mi yoksa gerçek bir vatanperver mi olduğu ele alınmaya çalışılacaktır. Türkçe’ye İbrahim Goradze tarafından tercüme edilen kitabın yazarı tarihi bütün çıplaklığıyla ön plana çıkartırken, kitabın tarihi kurmaca olabileceği gerçeğine dikkat çekmektedir. Bu bağlamda kitap, Gürcü komutanı günümüz bakış açısıyla tekrardan inceleme fırsatı sağlamaktadır.

Gelismekte olan ekonomilerde bilgi paylasiminin yenilikteki rolunu etkileyebilecek olasi unsurlardan birisi de isletme gruplaridir. Gecmis calismalar, cesitli olusumlari ve duzenleyici faktorleri dikkate alarak, bilgi paylasimi ve yenilik arasindaki iliskiyi incelemis olmalarina ragmen, bu calismalarin azi isletme gruplarinin rolune deginmistir. Bu nedenle bu calisma, ilgili yazin cercevesinde, kesfedici ve somurucu bilgi paylasiminin yenilik uzerindeki etkilerini tartismakta ve isletme grubuna bagliligin bu iliskideki rolunu irdelemektedir. Bu dogrultuda, ileri arastirma gerektiren onermeler sunmaktadir. Onermeler, yenilik yonunden firmalarin kesfedici ve somurucu bilgi paylasimindan faydalandiklarini; ancak, isletme grubuna bagliligin bu iliskide pozitif veya negatif duzenleyici rolu olabilecegini ileri surmektedir.

Ischemic heart disease is the main cause of death globally. Cardioprotection is the process whereby mechanisms that reduce myocardial damage, and activate protective factors, contribute to the preservation of the heart. Targeting these processes could be a new strategy in the treatment of post-ischemic heart failure (HF). Triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4), which have multiple effects on the heart, prevent myocardial damage. This study describes the formulation, and characterization, of chemically modified polymeric nanoparticles incorporating T3, to target the thyroid hormone receptors. Modified T3 was conjugated to polylactide-co-glycolide (PLGA) to facilitate T3 delivery and restrict its nuclear translocation. Modified T3 and PLGA-T3 was characterized with 1H-NMR. The protective role of synthesized phosphocreatine (PCr) encapsulated PLGA-T3 nanoparticles (PLGA-T3/PCr NPs) and PLGA-T3 nanoparticles (PLGA-T3 NPs) in hypoxia-mediated cardiac cell insults was investigated. The results showed that PLGA-T3/PCr NPs represent a potentially new therapeutic agent for the control of tissue damage in cardiac ischemia and resuscitation.

1970’li yıllarda İkinci Dalga Fransız Feminizminin önde gelen isimleri Hélène Cixous, Luce Irigaray ve Julia Kristeva dil çözümlemesi, dişil dil ve dişil yazı yöntemleriyle fallus merkezli batı düşüncesini yapısöküme uğratmışlardır. Bu düşünürler, felsefi ve edebi metinlerde dişil seslerin ikinci plana atılmasını eleştirmek için dişil yazı ve dişil eleştiri pratiğini harekete geçirmişlerdir. Bu çalışmada, Margaret Atwood’un Odysseia Destanı’ndan yola çıkarak yeniden yazdığı Penelope mitinin Jacques Derrida’nın da fikirlerinden yararlanılarak dişil yazı okuması yapılacaktır. Derrida, fallus’un aşkın gösterilen olmasına ve dil hâkimiyetine différance (ayıram) ve deconstruction (yapısöküm) kavramları ile karşı çıkar. Geliştirdiği bu stratejilerle, ilkini ikincisi üzerinde üstün kılarak kendi “öteki”sini yaratmaya iten ikili karşıtlıkların yapısını bozarak, bu karşıtlıkların kaynağı olan “sözmerkezcilik” ve “fallus-merkezciliği” düşüncelerini kökten sarsmaya girişir. Derrida’nın düşünceleriyle ortaya çıkan ve feminist düşünürler ile değişen ve dönüşen dişil yazının Atwood tarafından nasıl kusursuzca mit yıkımında kullanıldığının cevabı aranacaktır., In the 1970s Hélène Cixous, Luce Irigaray ve Julia Kristeva, the leading names of the Second Wave French Feminism, deconstructed the phallus-centered western thought with the methods of language analysis, feminine language and feminine writing. These philosophers, developed the practice of feminine writing and feminine critique to criticize the negligence of female voices in philosophical and literary texts. In this study, the Penelope myth, rewritten by Margaret Atwood from Odysseia, will be read by using the ideas of Jacques Derrida. Derrida opposes the phallus and language dominance by the concepts of différance and deconstruction. With these strategies, he attempted to shake the ideas of “logocentrism” and “phallocentrism” that are the sources of binary oppositions, pushing the former over the latter to create its own “other”. In this respect, Derrida, aiming to create a new language that will not allow the exclusion of the “other”, raised also feminist theory and methodology with his ideas about woman’s position as a subject. Post-structuralist feminists place the emphasis on a similar problem with Derrida. Hélène Cixous developed a feminine writing practice that would deconstruct western philosophy surrounded by masculine language. This writing practice aims to question how male and female oppositions are produced by language and how woman become a negative or complementary term. Cixous desires that women should struggle to write themselves so that they can go out of the hegomonic world of men. In order to go beyond masculine discourse, a woman must write her own body and sexuality. The aim of the study is to analyze The Penelopiad novel by deconstructing dichotomies such as male/female, self/other, gender issues and feminine writing. It will be answered how Atwood used perfectly the deconstruction of myth in feminine writing that emerged from Derrida’s thoughts and changed and transformed with feminist thinkers.

Polymer-drug conjugates are growing in interest as novel anticancer agents for targeted cancer therapy. The aim of this study was to synthesize a poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) conjugated anticancer drug for neuroblastoma, which is the most common extracranial solid tumor of childhood and the deadliest tumor of infancy. In our previous studies, we designed and synthesized a dual targeting agent using benzylguanidine (BG) conjugated with the high affinity thyrointegrin αvβ3 antagonist TriAzole Tetraiodothyroacetic acid (TAT) via non-cleavable bonding to PEG400 to make BG-P400-TAT and its derivatives as agents against neuroblastoma. Here, we improved the pharmacodynamic properties and increased the solubility by changing the polymer length to 1600 molecular weight. The TAT group, which acts as an integrin αvβ3 antagonist, and the BG group, which can be taken up by neuroblastoma cells through the norepinephrine transporter (NET) system, are conjugated to PEG1600 to make BG-PEG1600-TAT. The binding affinity of BG-PEG1600-TAT was 40-fold higher to integrin αvβ3 versus BG-P400-TAT and was associated with greater anticancer activities against neuroblastoma cells (SK-N-F1 and SKNAS) implanted in SCID mice along with broad spectrum anti-angiogenesis activities versus the FDA approved anti-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) monoclonal antibody Avastin (bevacizumab). In conclusion, our novel dual targeting of NET and αvβ3 receptor antagonist, BG-P1600-TAT demonstrated broad spectrum anti-angiogenesis and anti-cancer activities in suppressing neuroblastoma tumor progression and metastasis. Thus, BG-PEG1600-TAT represents a potential clinical candidate for targeted therapy in neuroblastoma management.

Firms’ knowledge sharing activities include utilization of existing knowledge and creation of new knowledge with other firms. These knowledge flows refer to the exploitation and exploration of knowledge, which are defined as the different modes of organizational learning. Both types of knowledge sharing enhance existing innovations and allow for the development of new products or processes. However, explorative and exploitative knowledge sharing may have different impacts on innovation in various organizational settings. In developing economies, one of the important factors that may condition the role of knowledge sharing in innovation is the business group. Previous studies have investigated the knowledge sharing and innovation relations considering various settings and moderating factors; however, few have addressed the role of business groups. Therefore, this study discusses the effects of explorative, exploitative knowledge sharing on innovation and the role of business group affiliation in this relationship within the framework of the relevant literature. Accordingly, this study puts forward propositions which require further investigation. The propositions suggest that firms benefit from explorative and exploitative knowledge sharing in terms of innovation; however, business group affiliation might have positive or negative moderating role in this relationship

A macrocyclic azocalix[4]arene (1) based ester derivative was synthesized. The single crystals of azocalix[4]arene were produced by slow evaporation of concentrated ethyl acetate solutions. These single crystals were exposed to 60Co gamma rays with a dose rate of 0.980 kGy h-1 for 48 and 72 h to produce a stable free radical. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements were performed in three mutually perpendicular planes of the single crystal in the magnetic field, in addition, temperature dependence of the EPR signal was studied between 120 K and 450 K. The spectra were found to be temperature and angular dependent. Analysis based on the spectra recorded showed that a free radical was formed by fission of a C–H bond. This radical is described as •CaHCbH3 The averages of the principal values of the hyperfine parameters and g-factor are: g = 2.0034, AHa = 1.28 mT, AH1=H2 = 1.00 mT, and AH3 = 0.49 mT. A highly selective and sensitive fluorescent sensor for mercury ion has been obtained from a combination of Bodipy and Calix[4]arene derived by click chemistry. The structural characterization of all compounds had been carried out by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS, elemental analysis or melting point. Calix[4]-B including a calix[4]arene and two Bodipy units is a good fluorescent sensor for Hg(II). It can be explained by the coordination between mercury and the triazole rings. In a co-solvent of methanol and water, the complexation ratio for Calix[4]-B/Hg(II) was determined as 1:1 and the binding constant was found to be 3.42 × 10 7 M−1. The detection of Hg(II) by Calix[4]-B works selectively in aqueous methanol mixture. © 2017 Elsevier B.V.
