Biological systems are hierarchically self-organized complex structures characterized by nonlinear interactions. Biochemical energy is transformed into work of physical forces required for various biological functions. We postulate that energy transduction depends on endogenous electrodynamic fields generated by microtubules. Microtubules and mitochondria colocalize in cells with microtubules providing tracks for mitochondrial movement. Besides energy transformation, mitochondria form a spatially distributed proton charge layer and a resultant strong static electric field, which causes water ordering in the surrounding cytosol. These effects create conditions for generation of coherent electrodynamic field. The metabolic energy transduction pathways are strongly affected in cancers. Mitochondrial dysfunction in cancer cells (Warburg effect) or in fibroblasts associated with cancer cells (reverse Warburg effect) results in decreased or increased power of the generated electromagnetic field, respectively, and shifted and rebuilt frequency spectra. Disturbed electrodynamic interaction forces between cancer and healthy cells may favor local invasion and metastasis. A therapeutic strategy of targeting dysfunctional mitochondria for restoration of their physiological functions makes it possible to switch on the natural apoptotic pathway blocked in cancer transformed cells. Experience with dichloroacetate in cancer treatment and reestablishment of the healthy state may help in the development of novel effective drugs aimed at the mitochondrial function.

We know from research conducted to date that magnetic field of low-induction power frequency (50 Hz) increases the in vitro adherence capacity of T lymphocytes in patients with squamous cell larynx/pharynx cancer as well as that of T lymphocytes of voluntary blood donors (control group), towards the surface. The objective of this thesis was to find out if there is a difference between the impacts of low induction values, and to confirm or disconfirm the literary assumption that lower induction values have more pronounced influence on biological systems. At first, we carried out comparative tests of T lymphocyte adherence inhibition in the absence of magnetic field and in the presence of a field with a single set induction value (10mT (n=30), 1 mT ( n=30), 0.5 mT ( n=76), 0.1 mT (n=60), 0.05mT (n=69)). Blood samples from 265 patients were investigated in this way. The control group consisted of T lymphocytes of voluntary blood donors (n=316). As the next stage, T lymphocyte inhibition adherence tests were simultaneously carried out without the presence of magnetic field and with the presence of a field of comparable inductions so as to compare the T lymphocyte ability of one and the same patient (i.e. comparing the adherence capacity without field with that in the presence of a field of 0.1 mT, 0.05...

Risk factors for head and neck cancer MUDr. Kateřina Licková, MBA We focused on the research of risk factors for head and neck cancer (HNC) and the aim of our study was to confirm the influence of known external risk factors (alcohol and smoking) and further correlate the overall clinical and socio-economic status of the patient with HNC. In contrast to previous studies, we confirmed the results of the study with a control group of patients with other heterogeneous oncological diagnoses (OOD). The research was carried out in the years 2015 to 2019 at the Radiotherapy and Oncology Clinic of the Royal Vinohrady University Hospital (FNKV) in Prague. The study included 200 patients with ZNHK and 200 patients with OOD. For the research of risk factors, we used a non-standardized questionnaire focused on socio-economic and behavioral risk factors. We used the Czech reading test (CRT) to measure premorbid intellect, the visual analog scale VAS (from 0 to 10 cm) to determine the quality of life, the GAD-7 questionnaire to detect anxiety, the BDI-II self-assessment questionnaire to detect depression and and clinical data were obtained retrospectively from medical records and from the UNIS database of the hospital system. (AJ) Tinnitus is not seen as a separate disease, but in terms of symptoms accompanying various diseases. The emergence of tinnitus is involved in a variety of risk factors. Relationship between tinnitus and blood flow of the ear is described in a relation to impaired microcirculation, which plays a key role in the proper function of the inner ear and therefore we evaluated the relationship prothrombogenic factors for tinnitus. From the original group of 853 patients we excluded patients with organic cause problems. We excluded patients with hearing impairment, cardiovascular and other comorbidities and also patients taking ototoxic drugs or patients with laboratory abnormalities. Then we have a homogenous group of 40 patients without the evidence of an organic cause of tinnitus and without associated diseases and the effect of ototoxic medications. On this basis there has been created a control group matched by the age and sex. In our group as the main marker of protrombogenic state was used a level of 11- dehydrotromboxan B2. Patients with tinnitus have significantly higher values of 11- dehydrotromboxane-B2. The incidence of malignant tumors of head and neck is rising worldwide and the incidence of subsequent neoplasms in this area is increasing as well. Diagnosis can be difficult. Most patients underestimate symptoms and a large proportion of disease is diagnosed at a late stage. The common feature of head and neck tumors is their histological composition (90-95% are squamous cell carcinomas with varying degrees of differentiation) and a tendency to locally spread with the early emergence of locoregional metastases. The group most at risk is men over 45 years old, especially cigarette smokers and drinkers - especially spirits. Other risk factors include infection of HPV and HSV viruses, occupational pollution, poor nutrition, poor oral hygiene and inadequate dental prosthesis and so on. The role of prevention seems to be essential in case of head and neck cancer. According to the American Cancer Society 85-90% of head and neck tumors is caused by tobacco products. This is one of the reasons why the fight against smoking has become a major global prevention effort. The crucial role in the treatment of these tumors has a surgical treatment and radiotherapy, but chemotherapy has just a limited effect. The topic of this thesis "Duplicate malignant tumors in patients carcinomas of the head and neck "I chose based on my interest of oncological problems. Cancer diseases represent and probably even long period of time will constitute the second most common cause of death. Worldwide incidence exceeds an average of five hundred thousand cases. Tumors of the head and neck are among the most aggressive malignancies with a high incidence of formation metastases. Carcinomas of the head and neck collectively represent about 5% of all malignant tumors and their number is increasing annually.
