Aim: Scalp hairs are mainly innervated by sensitive fibers of trigeminal nerves. Ischemic neurodegeneration of trigeminal ganglion can cause denervation injury of scalp hairs. We investigated if there is a relationship between the degenerated neuron densities of trigeminal ganglion neuron densities and the numbers of degenerated hair follicles numbers following subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Material and Method: Five normal (n=5), five SHAM (n=5), and ten (n=10) male rabbits were chosen from formerly experimental SAH created by cisternal homologous blood injection (0.75cc) group, which followed for three weeks. Degenerated neuron numbers of trigeminal ganglion and atrophic hair follicles numbers in the frontal areas of the scalp were examined by stereological methods. Degenerated neuron densities of trigeminal ganglions and atrophic hair follicles numbers were analyzed by the Mann-Whitney U test. Results: The mean degenerated neuron densities trigeminal ganglions (n/mm3) and atrophic hair follicles (n/mm2) were determined as 5±2/m3 and12±4/mm2 in control; 12±3/m3 and 41±8/mm2 in Sham and, 168±23/m3 and 79±14/mm2 in the study group (p>0.001). In the post-hoc analysis, all groups differed significantly from each other. A linear association was observed between the degenerated neuron densities of trigeminal ganglions and atrophic hair follicles (r: 0.343, p: 0.007). Conclusion: Trigeminal ganglion neurodegeneration may be an essential factor in hair follicles atrophy after SAH, which has not been mentioned in the literature so far.

Giriş: Kaudat çekirdek lateral ventriküllerin en yakın komşusu olmasına rağmen subaraknoid kanamalar sonrası gelişen pek çok psikomotor bozukluğun nedeni bilinmeyene yol açabilmektedir. Bu konu henüz yeterince çalışılmamıştır. Bu çalışma, subaraknoid kanama sonrası kaudat çekirdekte meydana gelen histopatolojik değişiklikleri incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır.Gereç ve Yöntemler: 25 adet yabani erkek sağlıklı tavşan kullanıldı. Ağırlıkları, kalp ve solunum hızları, tansiyon değerleri kaydedildi. Hayvanlar kontrol grubuna ayrıldı (GI, n=5); SHAM (1,2 cc salin enjekte edildi (GII, n=5) ve çalışma grubuna (GIII, n=15) Çalışma grubunda hayvanların sisterna magnalarına 1,2 cc otolog kan enjekte edildi.Hayvanlar takibe alındı. kaudat çekirdeğin dejenere nöron yoğunlukları stereolojik yöntemlerle tahmin edildi ve Mann-Witney U testi ile analiz edildi.Bulgular: Bir çalışma grubunda üç tavşan öldü. P değerleri: GI/GII'de p, Background: Although the caudate nucleus is the closest neighbor of the lateral ventricles, it can lead to the unknown cause of many psychomotor disorders that develop after subarachnoid hemorrhages. This subject has not been adequately studied yet. The study aims to examine the histopathological changes in the caudate nucleus after subarachnoid hemorrhage.Material and Methods: Twenty-five wild male healthy rabbits were used. Their weights, heart and respiration rates, and blood pressure values were recorded. Animals were divided into the control (GI, n=5); SHAM (1.2 ccs of saline injected (GII, n=5), and study group (GIII, n=15). N the study group, 1.2 ccs of autologous blood was injected into the cisterna magna of animals. The animals were followed up for three weeks and sacrificed under general anesthesia. Degenerated neuron densities of the caudate nucleus were estimated by the stereological methods and analyzed by the Mann-Witney U test.Results: Three rabbits dead in a study group. Meningeal irritation signs and unconsciousness were noted in those animals. Prolonged QT intervals, ST depressions, and low voltage QRSs were observed in GIII animals. Objective: Although the neurophysical mechanism of subthalamic nucleus (STN) stimulation is still unclear, STN with decreasing electric field strength may be re-charged by battery. According to the law defined by Einstein, the unified electromagnetic field (UF) energy formed by the electrically charged Auerbach ganglia co-oscillating with bowel movements, can be transported by afferent nerves to charge the brain, like as battery. This study examines the rationality of the current theory.Methods: In this study, 18 rats with 360±20 gr weighted were divided into 3 groups according to their intestinal pulsation ranges as: 10±3/GI; 7±2/GII and 3±1/GIII. Auerbach's ganglia density (n/AG/mm3), Auerbach ganglia neuron density (n/AGN/mm3) were estimated by taking 0.5 mm sections at 10 mm intervals from 5 different distances from the midline of the ascending colon; and STN neuron densities (n/STN/mm3) were estimated. Amaç: Bu çalışmada Necrostatin-1(NEC-1)' in ratlarda oluşturulan deneysel subaraknoid kanama (SAK) modelinde vazospazm üzerine etkileri incelendi.Gereç ve Yöntem: 56 adet erkek Wistar cinsi albino rat, altı gruba ayrıldı. Grup 1 (kontrol), grup 2 (sham), grup 3 (SAK sonrası birinci saatte dekapitasyon), grup 4 (SAK sonrası 48.saatte dekapitasyon), grup 5 (SAK oluşturulmadan önce NEC-1 verilip, 15 dakika sonrasında SAK oluşturulup bundan 1 saat sonra ise sakrifiye edilen grup) ve grup 6 (SAK oluşturulup 24 saat sonra NEC-1 verilip 2.günde sakrifiye edilen grup) olarak tanzim edildi. NEC-1, 1 uq dimetil sülfoksit(DMSO) içerisinde çözülmüş 2.6 uq dozunda intrasisternal yolla verildi. Dekapitasyon işlemi sonrasında baziler arterlerin lümen alanları ve duvar kalınlıkları stereolojik yöntemle histopatolojik olarak incelendi.Bulgular: SAK oluşturulmadan önce uygulanan NEC-1'in SAK sonrası gelişen vazospazmı istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde önlediği gözlemlendi. Arter duvar kalınlıklarının ise sadece SAK yapılan gruplarda istatistiksel olarak arttığı, normal grup, sham grubu ve NEC-1 verilen gruplarda istatistiksel olarak anlamlı artışlar olmadığı tespit edildi.Sonuç: Bu çalışmada elde edilen bulgular, NEC-1'in ratlarda SAK sonrası vazospazmı önleyici olabileceğini göstermektedir. Klinik uygulamaya geçilebilmesi için daha ileri çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır. Objective: In this study, we investigated the effects of necrostatin-1(NEC-1) on subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) induced vasospasm in a rat model.Material and Method: 56, male Wistar albino rats were randomly divided into six groups. Group 1 (control), group 2 (sham), group 3 (decapitation one hour after SAH), group 4 (decapitation 48 hours after SAH), group 5 (NEC-1 given 15 minutes before SAH and decapitation one hour after SAH), group 6 (NEC-1 24th hours after SAH and decapitation after 48th hour). NEC-1 was applied intrasisternal with a 1 uq in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is resolved at a dose of 2.6 uq. After decapitation, basilar arteries cross sectional areas and wall thicknesses were determined histopathologically by stereological methods.Results: NEC-1 which was applied before SAH was found statistically significant to be preventive on vasospasm following SAH. Arterial wall thicknesses were found to be statistically increased only in the SAH group, but not statistically significant in the normal group, the sham group and the NEC-1 treated groups.Conclusion: The findings which are obtained from this study demonstrates that NEC-1 may be preventive in vasospasm after SAH in rats. Further studies are needed for clinical use of this agent. 96
