Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia tarda with progressive arthropathy (SEDT-PA) is a rare autosomal recessive hereditary skeletal disease, and mutations in WISP3 are responsible for its onset. WISP3 is essential for maintaining cartilage integrity mainly by regulating the expression of collagen II, and mutations of WISP3 linked to SEDT-PA can compromise this function and lead to cartilage loss, which is frequently misdiagnosed as juvenile idiopathic arthritis. It is characterized by arthralgia, joint contractures, bony swelling of metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joints and platyspondyly. Clinical and laboratory signs of joint inflammation such as synovitis, a high erythrocyte sedimentation rate and an elevated C-reactive protein level are usually absent. Although the disease begins early in life (usually between 3 and 8 years of age), the diagnosis may be delayed. In the present case report, we describe a female patient diagnosed with SEDT-PA at the age of 40 years, although she had been exhibiting the typical radiological and clinical features of the disease since the age of 8 years. Genetic disorders like SEDT-PA may also have rheumatological involvement, and thus should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of inflammatory joint diseases.

Purpose: The study aims to determine risk factors related to stress due to pandemic, the burnout levels of the physiotherapist, the relationship between these parameters. Methods: One hundred two physiotherapists, whose sociodemographic information was obtained, were divided into two groups according to disease exposure (CoV and non-CoV group). Pandemic-Associated Stress Factors of the participants were analyzed and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) was used to measure burnout. The independent sample t test was used to detect the difference between the groups. Pearson's correlation analysis was used to find relations in parameters. Results: 96% of respondents were concerned about getting infected and 98% concerned about infecting their families. Most of the participants were physically and mentally tired (74.5%, 58.8%). The CoV group consisted of 45 (44.11%) physiotherapists who had a history of COVID-19, had patient contact, or worked with coronavirus patients. Background Trunk stabilization, which is a factor that directly afects the performance of afected upper-limb movements in stroke patients, is of critical importance in the performance of selective motor control. Aims This study aimed to investigate the efects on upper-limb motor function of the addition of robotic rehabilitation (RR) and conventional rehabilitation (CR) to intensive trunk rehabilitation (ITR). Methods A total of 41 subacute stroke patients were randomly allocated to two groups: RR and CR. Both groups received the same ITR procedure. Following ITR, a robot-assisted rehabilitation program of 60 min, 5 days a week, for 6 weeks, was applied to the RR group, and an individualized upper-limb rehabilitation to the CR group. Assessments were made at baseline and after 6 weeks using the Trunk Impairment Scale (TIS), Fugl-Meyer Upper Extremity Motor Evaluation Scale (FMA-UE), and Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT). Results Improvements were obtained in the TIS, FMA-UE, and WMFT scores for both groups (p0.05). The RR group scores were relatively high, but not to a statistically signifcant. Conclusions When added to intensive trunk rehabilitation, the robot-assisted systems, which are recommended as a standalone therapy method, produced similar results to conventional therapies. This technology can be used as an alternative to conventional methods under appropriate conditions of clinical opportunity, access, time management, and staf limitations. However, when RR is combined with traditional interventions such as intensive trunk rehabilitation, it is essential to investigate if the real efect is due to the robotic rehabilitation or the accumulation of positive efects of excessive movement or force spread associated with trained muscles. Objective: Subacromial Impingement Syndrome (SIS) is one of the most common shoulder pathologies that cause a reduction in pain and functional ability. This study aimed to compare the effects of kinesiological taping and traditional treatment modalities on pain, functionality, and disability in SIS patients. Materials and Methods: The study was completed with 54 patients aged 18-60 years. By randomization, the participants were divided into two groups: the Intervention Group (IG) and the Control Group (CG). While the conventional physiotherapy program (CPP) was performed for ten sessions, kinesiological taping was repeated every three days for the IG. The CG was taken to only ten sessions of CPP. The CPP protocol was applied for 60x5x2 minutes/day/week. Pain severity, function, and disability were assessed before and after the treatment. Results: There was no difference between the groups in pain severity (p=0.074), function (p=0.565), and disability (p=0.315) scores. On the other hand, there were significant improvements in pain (p=0.001), function (p=0.001), and disability (p=0.005) scores of IG according to intra-group analysis. Similar results were obtained in the CG. However, when the effect sizes of these treatment methods were examined, they did not create a clinically significant superiority compared to each other. Conclusion: In recent years, kinesiological taping has been widely used in patients with orthopedic problems. According to our results, kinesiological taping, performed in early period of physiotherapy program, did not have a clinical effect in reducing pain and improving functional status and disability when applied in addition to conventional treatment compared to conventional techniques alone. In patients with SIS, kinesiological taping alone may not be sufficient as an alternative treatment to traditional methods in the early term. However, we think the effects of different treatment combinations should be evaluated.

Objective: The quarantine precautions implemented during the new type of coronavirus epidemic caused some changes in the daily lives of geriatric individuals. This study aimed to examine whether living in rural or urban areas affects physical activity, depression, and quality of life (QoL) in Turkish geriatrics during pandemic.Method: One hundred three geriatrics were assessed with the videoconferencing method, which was performed once. Participants were divided into two groups according to the area where they lived as rural (n:41) or urban (n:62). In addition, physical activity, presence of depression, and QoL of individuals were assessed with the Physical Activity Scale for the Elderly (PASE), Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), and Short Form-36 (SF-36), respectively.Results: According to the results, PASE (p=0.677), GDS (p=0.742), and all sub-dimensions of SF-36 (p>0.05 for all) except pain (p=0.033) of geriatrics were similar in both groups. Also, while there is a low-level relationship between the GDS scores of those living in rural areas and the sub-dimensions of SF-36 physical function (r=-0.381), mental health (r=-0.381), and social functionality (r=-0.395), there was a moderate correlation between the vitality (r=-0.529) and pain (r=-0.536) sub-dimensions. In addition, a strong correlation was found between GDS and the general health perception sub-dimension of SF-36 (r=-0.611).Conclusion: The pandemic-induced quarantine precautions, which were put into effect throughout Turkey, negatively affected the daily life of all people, especially elderly individuals. Bu çalışma, pandemi süresince kırsal veya kentsel alanlarda yaşamanın Türkiye’deki yaşlı bireylerin fiziksel aktivite, depresyon ve yaşam kalitesini etkileyip etkilemediğini incelemeyi amaçlamıştır.Yöntem: Yüz üç yaşlı birey, bir kez yapılan video konferans yöntemiyle değerlendirildi. Katılımcılar yaşadıkları bölgeye göre kırsal (n:41) ve kentsel (n:62) olarak iki gruba ayrıldı. Bireylerin fiziksel aktivite, depresyon varlığı ve yaşam kaliteleri sırasıyla Yaşlılar İçin Fiziksel Aktivite Ölçeği (YFAÖ), Geriatrik Depresyon Ölçeği (GDÖ) ve Kısa Form-36 (KF-36) ile değerlendirildi.Bulgular: Sonuçlara göre yaşlıların YFAÖ (p=0.677), GDÖ (p=0.742) ve KF-36'nın ağrı (p=0.033) dışındaki tüm alt boyutları (tümü için p>0.05) her iki grupta benzerdi. Ayrıca kırsal kesimde yaşayanların GDÖ puanları ile KF-36 fiziksel işlev (r=-0.381), ruh sağlığı (r=-0.381) ve sosyal işlevsellik alt boyutları (r=-0.395) arasında düşük düzeyde bir ilişki varken, canlılık (r=-0.529) ve ağrı (r=-0.536) alt boyutları arasında orta düzeyde bir ilişki vardı. Ek olarak, KF-36'nın genel sağlık algısı alt boyutu ile GDÖ arasında güçlü bir ilişki bulundu (r=-0.611).Sonuç: Türkiye genelinde uygulamaya konulan pandemi kaynaklı karantina önlemleri başta yaşlılar olmak üzere tüm insanların günlük yaşamını olumsuz etkiledi. Bu önlemler nedeniyle kırsal ve kentsel alanlarda yaşayan yaşlıların günlük yaşam aktivitelerinin benzerliği, benzer fiziksel aktivite, depresyon ve yaşam kalitesi skorlarının oluşmasına neden olmuş olabilir.

However, the evaluation of refractive error such as myopia has always been neglected in balance studies. This paper aimed to examine the differences in balance and proprioception measurements between individuals with myopia and their healthy peers. Materials and Methods: Fifteen subjects with myopic eye defects and 15 healthy peers were included in the study. Balance evaluations consisted of the tandem walk test (TWT), the limits of stability test (LOS), and the modified clinical test of sensory interaction and balance (mCTSIB). These evaluations were performed with a computer-aided NeuroCom Balance Master device. Additionally, proprioception was measured with the Biodex System 3 isokinetic dynamometer. Results: Individuals with myopic defects had higher step widths (P= .001), and end-sway (P = .007) than their healthy peers. The reaction time, maximum excursion, and directional control values of the myopia group were lower than those of the healthy peer group, but there was no difference between the results of the LOS and the m-CTSIB tests (P > .05 for all parameters). Moreover, the 60° proprioception evaluation deviation was higher in the myopia group for both dominant and non-dominant extremities. However, this deviation was not statistically significant (P > .05). Conclusion: This study showed some differences in the measured values for balance in myopic individuals compared to healthy peers. We think that the evaluation of the participants with the orthoses they use will provide more accurate results from the measurements in future studies evaluating balance and proprioception.

Amaç: Serebral Palsili (SP) bir çocuğa bakım veren ebeveynlerin bakım yüklerinin sağlıklı bir çocuğa bakım veren ebeveynlerden fazla olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu çalışma ile birincil bakım veren ebeveynlerin bakım yükü (BY) ile psikolojik durumları (PD) ve yaşam kaliteleri (YK) arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir.Araçlar ve Yöntem: Çalışma, SP'li çocuğa sahip 101 ebeveyn ile prospektif olarak gerçekleştirilen bir kesitsel çalışmadır. Bu çalışmada ebeveynlerin BY, PD ve YK sırasıyla Zarit Bakım Verme Yükü Ölçeği, Beck Depresyon Envanteri ve Kısa Form-36 ile ölçüldü. Ayrıca SP'li çocukların YK’sı Katz Günlük Yaşam Aktiviteleri Ölçeği ile fonksiyonellikleri ise Pediatrik Fonksiyonel Bağımsızlık Ölçümü ile değerlendirildi.Bulgular: Analiz sonuçlarına göre bakım verenlerin büyük çoğunluğu annelerden oluşmaktaydı (%90.09). Değerlendirmeler sonrasında çocukların günlük yaşam aktiviteleri (GYA) ve fonksiyonellik seviyeleri orta düzeyde bulundu. Ebeveynlerin BY ile PD arasında orta düzey (r=0.472, p, Purpose: It is known that the care burden of parents who care child diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP) is higher than that of the parents who care for a healthy child. The study aim was to examine the relationship between this caregiving burden (CB) and parents' psychological state (PS) and quality of life (QoL).Materials and Methods: The study is a prospective cross-sectional study completed with 101 parents of children with CP. The CB, PS, and QoL of parents were measured with Zarit Caregiver Burden Scale, Beck Depression Inventory, and Short Form-36, respectively. In addition, the QoL of CP was assessed with the Katz Activities of Daily Living Scale and functionality was meas-ured with the Pediatric Functional Independence Measure.Results: The majority of caregivers were mothers (90.09%).
