The thesis deals with the means of using cloud computing in business. The aim is to present the selected cloud services currently available on the market and then compare and evaluate them according to certain criteria. After the characteristics of the technology have been listed, including its advantages and disadvantages, a detailed description of the chosen products follows. Specifically, these are Microsoft Office 365, G Suite (formerly also known as Google Apps) and Dropbox Business. In the next section of the thesis, the services are evaluated in each of the selected criteria using the Kepner-Tregoe decision analysis. The list of the criteria includes, among others, the usability of the user interface, security, or deployment in a company.

DECENTRALIZATION in government ,ECONOMIC policy ,LIBERALISM ,ECONOMIC conditions in Eastern Europe - Abstract
This paper critically examines Ludwig von Mises' plan for political centralization of Eastern Europe. We argue that while Mises is known for suggesting many practical short-term proposals to influence economic policy of the day in the name of classical liberal order, forming a heavily centralized state in Eastern Europe would not bring about the much desired goal of ending clashes between the nations of this region. - Abstract
The article describes the nature and importance of the concept of private property. It traces back the logical necessity of the respect for property as a safeguard of both peace and prosperity. Then, it surveys arguments in favor of intellectual property that allegedly coincide with those of the tangible property. It shows, however, that after careful research into the origin of patents and copyrights many problems arise. The analysis shows that there are no parallels between private property in tangible goods and property in intangible goods (ownership of ideal objects). Intellectual ‘property’ fails in bringing about both peace and prosperity. The last part of the article suggests how a truly free market—a system that does not recognized intellectual property—might function. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
THEOLOGY AND ECONOMICS: A THEOLOGICAL REFLECTION OF THE PRINCIPLES OF CLASSICAL LIBERALISM Disertační práce. Mgr. Věra Vaníčková Abstract This dissertation presents the basic knowledge of the Austrian school and puts it in contexts with both biblical images of the world and man and with the theological basis of biblical personalism which forms the basis of the so-called Hussite theology. Representatives of the Austrian school, classical economists, and the philosophers of law, carry the ideas of classical liberalism that has no ambition to substitute either religion (it is empty of dogma) or worldview (it does not interpret the cosmos from a single principle) but possesses valuable knowledge of human behavior in social affairs and principles, to which all the societies of the compound individuals are subject, the Church included. Simply put: We can act in any way, but we cannot choose the consequences of our actions. By this the Austrian school indirectly reminds Christian theology of the need to take more seriously the message of the Old Testament, which by its prescientific means (by the speech of myth), reaches the same conclusions. The Old Testament, with its true relationship to earthly affairs, is the root of a tree whose crown is the New Testament with a message about the redemptive work of Jesus...

Author: Pavel Ryska Doctoral thesis: The Empirics of Deflation and Economic Growth Abstract This doctoral thesis deals with the relationship between deflation and economic growth. Existing empirical research has focused on the simple link between price growth and GDP growth or introduced narrower price measures as control variables. The goal of the present work is to account for shifts in both demand and supply, so that the effect of price inflation on growth as such could be separated from effects of changes in certain elements of nominal demand and supply. The work takes two general approaches. First, I use a large macroeconomic panel data set of 20 countries over approximately 140 years to explore long-run and short-run effects of inflation on output growth, after controlling for money supply growth as a demand shifter and oil price growth as a proxy for shifts in supply. In doing so, I use a range of methods such as the vector error-correction model, autoregressive distributed lag model and the fixed effects panel model. Second, I propose a new approach that uses disaggregated sector data from national accounts on output, prices and other variables to explore the link between quantity produced and sector inflation rates. The advantage of the data set is that it is rich in modern-day observations of...

If we consider various improving concepts of governance, we can distinguish two main trends in public choice economics. Neoclassical analysis provides a static view of competitive government, where the main idea is free choice and so-called vote with feet. Dynamic view adds understanding of competition as knowledge generating process and product differentiation. The aim of the work is to evaluate Charter Cities project from the perspective of static and dynamic competition in the government industry, and its potential for rules diffusion to the host country. Seasteading may seem utopian, but the realization would significantly address the problems of decision-making costs and differentiation of governments. Since concepts vary at first sight, purpose of the work is also to compare charter cities and sea cities in terms of their nature, risks, and final applicability in practice. Third, a closer form of activism is the decentralization of government and the transfer of responsibilities to the private communities. Since the government market is 30% of world GDP and is extremely closed and resistant to change, it must compare the three forms of institutional changes, identify under what conditions and in what timeframe are feasible and to determine their significance with regard to their specific nature.

The master's thesis discusses an alternative concept of development aid in the form of charter cities created by Paul Romer, American economist. It describes this mechanism, institutional framework and analyzes its potential to work in practice. Besides the first attempts to put model cities into practice, the thesis also points to a number of myths that have appeared around the project and which are the subject of study. Due to absence of direct charter cities the concept is compared (based on ex-post analysis) with cities and economic zones that were established with goal to achieve economic growth. Similar procedure is applied even in testing of basic assumptions of this model to find out whether this is a viable project.

This study is aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of state intervention in the form of pharmaceutical external price referencing (EPR) in selected EU countries, as well as the description of drug policy and EPR in the analyzed countries. Among the analyzed countries, the United Kingdom and Sweden have been selected as representatives who don't use EPR regulation. On the other hand, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Spain and the Netherlands are countries that regulate using EPR. The prices of selected pharmaceutical products in all of those states are converted into producer prices, on which most countries concentrate EPR. Prices are analyzed after the conversion of nominal and real exchange rates. The lowest prices are found in the Netherlands and the UK. This proves that EPR doesn't bring lower prices for medicine in the countries which use it. Further rankings vary based on the exchange rates used. The paper also analyzes the achievement of price ceilings in the Czech Republic, where the maximum prices set by regulators of EPR (including VAT) are compared with the average prices in pharmacies. All analyzed medicinal product prices are below the ceilings, which also proves the ineffectiveness of this intervention.

This diploma thesis deals with the sustainability and stability of anarchy in the long run. Theories of Robert Nozick, Tyler Cowen and Randall G. Holcombe, which point to inevitable emergence of the state from the state of nature, are evaluated and compared with empirical observations of stateless societies. Proposals for the potential avoidance of state emergence despite the possible tendency of anarchy toward monopolization in the form of vertically integrated proprietary communities, remedial state and ideology are also introduced and analyzed. As result, the diploma thesis challenges the theories describing the inevitable emergence of the state and the first two proposals, which were designed to solve this problem. The role of ideology is highlighted in the conclusion as a crucial factor in achieving and maintaining anarchy in the long run.

Smoking is considered as the single greatest preventable cause of morbidity and mortality. Therefore government is trying to reduce smoking by its interventions. The subject of this work is to examine the effects of governmental interventions in terms of their proclaimed and actual consequences. The criterions for our evaluations will be the impact of the intervention on the public health, state budget and social redistribution. In order to outline the situation more comprehensively we will include also uninteded consequences of governmental activities. This will serve as an additional criterion for governmental intervention evaluation. We have no ambition to find the clearly best method for reduction of smoking behavior. We will attempt to point out that there are several contradictions among proclaimed and actual consequences of governmental interventions.

The fact that public goods exist is often taken as a rationale for government provision of such goods, mostly because of the free rider phenomenon. In the given paper the author challenges this view through theoretical discussion of alternative views on public goods and empirical evidence of private provision of public goods, such as zoning, rule creation and infrastructure development. Private property rights and contracting with communities based on these institutional tools are the main focal point in the research of private provision. Author examines proprietary communities in USA and Czech Republic and shows that private provision of public goods is subject to market demand and this demand is met with supply, given the appropriate institutional context.

This diploma thesis is focused on comparison of two political approaches to a quite new e-commerce industry -- internet gambling. These approaches are prohibition on the one hand and regulation, free market environment, on the other hand. Internet gambling became the worldwide phenomenon. However, American legislators had passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act 2006 in 2006 which outlawed an internet gambling. The declared purpose of this Act is protection of families against ill effects, such money laundering, underage gambling and problem gambling on society. This paper argues that regulation and free market environment established in Great Britain is much more effective way how to solve these key issues. There is demonstrated in the paper that free market stands for economically preferable option and contains better instruments for solving the issues at the same time.

It shows that sport federations have enough instruments to be able to face doping and that the newly adopted legal ragulation has a negative impact on human health, which is inconsistent with the reasons for which it was adopted.

Public financing of those two sports in Czech Republic is done through Czech squash association and Czech badminton association. Both those organizations are full members of Czech association of sports and also require money from Ministry of education. Those two organizations stand as main sources of finances from the public sources. I will focus on comparison of these two sports. Squash and badminton are very similar considering material, or financial side. Also the expansion of those sports in our country is more or less the same. From this point of wiew, they should also receive similar financial aid for the government. By detailed financial analyses I will try to confront both sports, differ their specifics and find out if the personal question is also playing a role. Probably the only difference between those two sports is the fact, that badminton is olympic sport, which gives it a chance to participate in programs, which are offered especially for sports that take part of the olympics. How much has this fact differ their evolution? I will find out, if badminton took advantage of this to benefit. Ministry of education and Czech sports association assign finance on behalf of certain conditions. The question is, how much these conditions influence the behavior of these associations. Must they adjust to them, or they work with them in complete synthesis and reach their goals. Only from the settings of the individual programs run by Ministry of education and Czech sports association is obvious, that it is almost impossible to satisfy both subjects.

The thesis deals with a monetary phenomenon of price deflation. In modern monetary theories, causes are sometimes confused with consequences. As to price deflation, consequences of causes of this phenomenon are often attributed to it while it is not a cause but a mere consequence. That's why we have identified causes of price deflation and their true consequences in the thesis. According to quantity theory of money, there are three main sources of price deflation as follows: decline in money supply, decline in velocity of circulation of money, and productivity growth. These causes are analyzed in detail, each of them in a single chapter. Price deflation is often associated with depressions while in some cases it might be a mere consequence of depression, not a cause. On the other hand, price deflation might also be a consequence of productivity growth (unless accommodated by increase in money supply) which makes it perfectly compatible with a healthy and growing economy.

The subject of this work is to compare debt collection effectiveness via judicial proceedings and private entities. Exercise of judicial power is one of the basic functions of the State; however, given the knowledge of the low success of the recovery procedure, it is extended to alternative methods of dispute resolution. Private executors focusing on exercising judicial power, debt collection agencies dealing primarily with extrajudicial debt collection and arbitration facilitating extrajudicial dispute resolution by means of independent arbitrators all provide other means of law enforcement. This work focuses on and analysis of the above mentioned systems and comparison of their effectiveness with regard to their efficiency and success when attempting to protect creditors' rights. The aim of the mentioned comparison is to prove a debt collection efficiency increase caused by an entry of private entities into the market (alternative ways of dispute resolution).

Thesis "Economics and Information" advances a consistent theoretic concept of information as part of economic theory. In contrast of contemporary semantic confusions about information in economics this thesis tries to build a meaningful theory based on classical economic studies and conception of information in system theory. The first part is concerned with methodological foundation and contemporary methodological problems of information in economic theory. These issues are crucial for presenting methodological individualism and subjectivism as fundamental approach to understanding role of information in social sciences. This leads to human action as basic framework for studying information. Next part of the thesis describes few basic approaches to information in economics. In comparison with neoclassical views like information asymmetry this thesis propose own praxeology based concept of information. This concept shows information in its duality as a resource of human activities, but also as objective of human action. This duality as resource and objective connect information to concepts of interpretation, knowledge and dynamic processes. The final part of the thesis applies theoretical concepts to economic policy issues and institutional problems.
