In the post-COVID era, there has been a growing emphasis on the significance of disinfecting objects individuals come into contact with. Mobile disinfection robots have emerged as a definitive solution to meet this demand. However, inherent issues in their current design may pose challenges leading to: continuous virus contamination (there is a risk that mobile UV robots may fail to reach all areas or fully eliminate pathogens, which could allow viruses to survive and subsequently spread infections); increase in the number of disease cases (incomplete disinfection may lead to the persistence of viruses in the environment, thereby increasing the likelihood of disease transmission and the emergence of a greater number of infection cases); illness among medical staff (if the environment in which medical staff operate is not fully disinfected, they may be exposed to the risk of infection with various pathogens, jeopardizing their health and ability to provide adequate medical care); the loss of human lives (inefficiency in disinfection can contribute to the spread of infectious diseases, leading to a higher number of deaths among the population, underscoring the need to address and resolve these issues). This scientific endeavor aims to outline the primary challenges associated with conventional mobile disinfection robots and introduce a solution through the implementation of an Autonomous Mobile Platform equipped with a UV Ray Disinfection System. A critical issue identified in conventional mobile disinfection robots pertains to their inability to ensure maximum efficiency in preventing the spread of viruses. This limitation is often linked to their static structure and the incapacity to efficiently cover the entire space. Furthermore, the risk of continuous athe introduction of an Autonomous Mobile Platform integrated with a UV Ray Disinfhumection System. This innovative approach effectively addresses existing limitations in conventional robots. The autonomous mobile platform enables comprehensive spatial coverage, eliminating the risk of blind spots and ensuring uniform disinfection. The UV Ray Disinfection System adds an additional layer of efficacy by molecularly destroying viruses and bacteria, thereby reducing the risk of contamination. In summary, this research introduces a technologically advanced and innovative solution to the challenges encountered with conventional mobile disinfection robots. This paper introduces an environmental data collection application that takes a comprehensive approach, including both hardware and software components. The software application is built on the platform BIOComProP_ECU (Basic Input Output Communication Protocol Platform for Electronic Control Units), which is a fast prototyping platform designed for electronic control units. The study presents a novel approach to developing a cost-efficient Internet of Things (IoT) system. This system takes advantage of the ESP32 microcontroller, which is equipped with WiFi capabilities, as its primary feature. The system collects indoor environmental data, such as air quality, temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, through dedicated sensors. This data is then stored in cloud storage for future analysis. The final section of the paper examines all of the results of the measurements collected over a one-year period and presents the resulting conclusions derived from this particular case study. This paper represents a detailed analysis of the synergy between unconventional electrical discharge machining (EDM) technology and collaborative robots. The authors have adopted a technological approach in this research, focusing on communication using the MODBUS TCP protocol between a collaborative robot and two electrical discharge machining (EDM) machines. By integrating the collaborative robot and EDM machines into the local network or organizational infrastructure, it has been demonstrated that these technologies can harmoniously function, efficiently communicating through a simple Ethernet cable. Intriguingly, the research illustrates how EDM machines can dynamically modify the values of registers within the collaborative robot, which acts as a server in this context. A conclusive case study has outlined the process of establishing communication infrastructure within the collaborative robot and showcased how it can implement and manage the necessary conditions for the manufacturing workflow. Through the use of existing industrial protocols, this research opens up fascinating possibilities regarding communication between collaborative robots and EDM machines. This could significantly reduce the complexity and costs associated with electrical I/O connections, enabling efficient transmission of multiple types of information between equipment using a single Ethernet cable. This study explores the potential benefits of incorporating descriptive geometry into the field of product design. Descriptive geometry, a mathematical technique for representing three-dimensional objects in two-dimensional space, plays a critical role in engineering and product design. The primary focus of this research is to emphasize the importance of descriptive geometry in creating practical, scalable, and customer-oriented product designs. This article aims to assess the potential value of descriptive geometry for optimization while illuminating its various applications in the realm of product design. The study covers areas such as manufacturing, assembly, performance improvement, the advancement of orthographic projections, the generation of 3D models, product design analysis, and product dimensioning. The primary finding of this study suggests that descriptive geometry proves to be a valuable tool for creating exceptional and recognizable products, enabling the exploration of geometric relationships, the construction of precise and comprehensive product representations, and the optimization of product design in terms of performance, assembly, and manufacturing. The research methodology involves a thorough review of relevant literature combined with case studies and illustrative examples showcasing the utilization of descriptive geometry in the context of product design. According to the findings presented here, product designers are encouraged to embrace descriptive geometry as an asset for crafting precise designs and enhancing product, assembly, and manufacturing performance. This paper presents an original contribution regarding the improvement of the automatic EOL (End of Line) parallel testing process of electronic control units (ECU) in the automotive industry, by implementing an interwoven parallel testing algorithm to increase the testing quality. The new interwoven parallel test algorithm groups the tests into parallel test groups through which the defect of the pins in the connector is detected and at the same time allows the tests to be performed through the parallel test algorithm of all inputs and outputs. It combines the advantages of reduced test time with the detection of defects on the pins. The last part of the paper highlights the results obtained through the modeling of the interwoven testing algorithm and presents our conclusions that emerge from this case study. Research and innovation infrastructures are facilities that provide resources and services to the research community to conduct research and stimulate innovation. Science, technology, and innovation are essential components of the national development plan and have been recognized as a driver of socio-economic progress in Romania. Finding novel and innovative solutions to socioeconomic challenges that we are currently facing requires a better understanding of the concrete managerial needs within the Romanian research infrastructures. This scientific paper presents some aspects related to the management of the optimization of processing operations by electrical erosion with contact breaking. The introductory part contains a series of theoretical considerations on the approached field, highlighting the importance and role of optimizing such a process. The criteria for achieving an optimization process in this way, in the industry, as well as the restrictions imposed by them in optimizing the cutting are also analyzed. In the last part of the research are presented the own points of view and the conclusions derived from this study that point out the need to correlate the technological, mechanical and working parameters in the electrical erosion process. The way in which the activation of dimensional processing is performed is effectively a cumulative result of erosion processes of an elementary and temporary nature and which is spatially concentrated. This concentration takes place between a transfer object and a processing object. In this context, this scientific paper highlights an experimental statistical analysis whose experimental set refers to the processing of sintered hard alloys of type P30. The transfer objects that were used were made of specific materials: electrolytic copper, steel and graphite. In this experimental study was examined the modeling and statistical optimization of some objective functions. These objective functions aim at the process productivity, the transfer objects volume and last but not least the quality of the surface that was processed, measured by the Ra [µm] parameter. In the realm of mechanical engineering, where efficiency is paramount, understanding and quantifying these coefficients play a crucial role in designing and optimizing mechanical systems. The research objectives encompass the development and testing of the experimental device, rigorous analysis of the results, and an assessment of its practicality and accuracy in discerning friction coefficients within advancing mechanisms. Originating from the practical necessity of designing a mechanism for advancing composite rods in manufacturing lines, this research delves into the importance of characterizing friction coefficients in bar element mechanisms. The methodology involves the implementation and testing of the experimental device under controlled conditions, data collection, and the application of analytical techniques to evaluate friction coefficients. The obtained results provide a nuanced understanding of friction coefficients in bar feed mechanisms, with implications for the design and optimization of mechanical systems. The scientific paper presents practical research carried out by a mixed team of Romanian researchers from universities and the business environment. The research consists in applying the process of cutting metallic materials through electrical discharge machining with contact breaking using a metal band as a transfer object. The research was implemented with the help of a specially designed installation in the laboratory and subsequently all the necessary steps were taken to obtain the patent for it. Various metallic materials were cut using this process, but first of all, high alloy steels. In the global research conducted by the authors, active experimental programs and classic experimental programs were used. The composite central factorial experiment was the method that led to the most effective results in terms of interpretations and conclusions. The research as a whole includes unique elements from an engineering point of view and here we can highlight the use of a metal band as a transfer object for this type of process as well as the designed, realized, and subsequently patented installation. These factors are critical in ensuring the dependability and safety of aircraft components. Surface treatment is necessary to ensure that paint and coatings adhere to the substrate, while acid pickling is used to treat surfaces and remove impurities, increasing surface roughness. The paper discusses the factors that affect paint adhesion and the procedures used to assess it. FMEA is a systematic approach used in the aerospace industry to identify potential failure modes and evaluate their severity, probability, detectability, and countermeasures. The authors highlight the importance of each of these criteria and emphasize that significant attention must be given to ensure the reliability and safety of aviation components. Careful regulation of acid application is necessary to prevent surface deterioration. Proper preparation of the surface, coating technique, and application circumstances significantly influence paint adhesion. In summary, the aircraft industry places significant emphasis on dependability and quality, and these essential elements must be considered in the design and production of aviation components.
