In order to complete the application of space syntax on the road network and to improve the planning indexes of the road network system in small towns, based on the space syntax, this paper quantitatively analyzed the function level of external traffic nodes, the rationality of connecting layout between channels and the influence of road network structure on land use function by choice, integration and the coupling relationship between the integrator and the population thermal distribution map. Yanghe Town was taken as a case under this method. It was found that the choice of corridors which were in east and west sides were low, which was not conducive to ensuring the connection between the town and the main city. Though the integration was enough high, the corridors which lied in north region were lack of coherence, meanwhile, the grades and integration of the road in south region did not very match. It was also found that the density of people activities around the integrator was consistent with the road’s integration and the function of the land type was affected by the integrator significantly.
