In the JAXA 2 m x 2 m Transonic Wind Tunnel, there have been more needs of wind tunnel users for high measurement accuracy to develop aircraft and launch vehicles with high performance. To achieve higher accuracy, more elaborate calibration tests to calculate freestream flow conditions have been conducted in this wind tunnel. To obtain test section Mach numbers exactly, test section static pressures must be measured precisely. However, the measurement of test section static pressure is difficult for transonic flows, especially high subsonic flows because of probe nose effects, blockage effects, support interference, and so on. これまで主に低速風洞において整備を進めてきた可搬型PIVシステムに対して、遷音速風洞での適用を目的とした改良を加えた遷音速風洞用ステレオPIVシステムの開発を行った。計測システムの開発では、遷音速風洞において実用化を困難としている、プレナム室による制約、シード投入方法ならびにセッティング時間の制約に対して、PIV機器の遠隔操作システムを構築し、遷音速風洞でのPIV計測を可能とするための改良を行った。開発された計測システムを用い、JAXA2m×2m遷音速風洞(TWT1)におけるステレオPIV計測の実用化を目的とした予備試験を実施した。予備試験では、遷音速風洞における計測可能性の確認および技術的問題点の把握に必要なデータを取得した。試験はSSTジェット実験機圧力模型を対象とし、フロースルーナセル周りの流れを中心に計測を行った。PIV計測結果は、シュリーレン可視化画像ともよく一致し、TWT1におけるステレオPIV計測の妥当性が示された。, Stereoscopic PIV technique was applied to the JAXA next-generation supersonic transport (SST) jet experimental airplane model. The measurements have been performed in the JAXA 2 m x 2 m Transonic Wind Tunnel. Application of PIV measurement techniques to transonic wind tunnels has particular difficulties associated with complex flows with shock waves. Due to these difficulties, practical experiments of PIV measurements in transonic wind tunnels are limited. In the present study, a fully remote-controlled stereoscopic PIV system is developed for velocity measurement of transonic complex flows, and preliminary results using the system are reported to evaluate the system capabilities. The tests were conducted at a freestream Mach number from 0.4 to 1.4. An example of raw PIV images was captured by the camera around the flow-through nacelle intake. Location and shape of shock waves observed in the PIV results are in good agreement with schlieren results for identical test condition. A series of wind tunnel tests were conducted to develop a boundary-layer tripping technique and also a detection technique for the boundary-layer state in transonic wind tunnels in ISTA/JAXA. A commonly used disk-type roughness element was used in the test and the conventional criterion for the effective roughness height was confirmed valid in the present case, also. A detection methodology for the boundary-layer state based on the quantitative measurement of the aerodynamic heating was applied to this experiment in a blow-down transonic facility, using both the Temperature Sensitive Paint (TSP) technique and the Infra-Red Thermograpy (IR) technique. The results indicate the methods are both useful in transonic experiments. Pressure-Sensitive Paint (PSP) is an image base pressure measurement technique and its data has much larger pressure information than the conventional pressure tap measurement. It produces quantitative pressure data. The PSP was estimated its performance as a CFD validation tool in this paper. At first, overview of PSP and PSP development at JAXA were described. PSP and CFD data of ONERA M5 model, which is a standard model of transonic wind tunnels, were used to compare with each other. The PSP test of ONERA M5 was conducted at JAXA 2 m x 2 m Transonic Wind Tunnel. Its test condition used in PSP/CFD comparison was M = 0.84, Alpha = 0 deg, P0 = 100 kPa. The PSP results were quantitatively in good agreement with pressure tap data and also good agreement with CFD data globally. There were 3 different regions between PSP and CFD data. Those regions were graphed and their possible reasons were considered. PSP and CFD data comparison on several arbitrary lines on test model were also demonstrated. It could be clear up the discrepancies between PSP and CFD data and the difference between PSP and pressure tap measurement. Then the superiority of PSP data was estimated comparing with pressure tap measurement. In a design of the Non-powered Supersonic Experimental Airplane, three kinds of flutter modes were focused; aileron with one degree of freedom, a first bending mode of a main wing and a rocket fin first torsion mode coupled with control surface motion. Computational analysis of High Speed Flight Demonstrator (HSFD) Phase 2 Vehicle are presented. HSFD Phase 2 is the flight experiment to reduce uncertainties in the HOPE-X transonic aerodynamics. HSFD vehicle is 25 percent scale model of HOPE-X. The phase 2 flight experiment will be scheduled at the Swedish Space Corporation's Esrange site in Sweden in 2003 and conducted in collaboration with Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) of France. In this paper, multi-block Navier-Stokes simulations have been performed for the HSFD model and total aerodynamic performance including base regions has been investigated. 20-21 May 1999 (62nd). 25-26 Nov. 1999 (63rd), STOL(短距離着陸機)実験機「飛鳥」の開発を契機に航技研の遷音速風洞に、TPS(タービン動力模擬エンジン)の推力検定装置を作った。この装置では、TPSの推力を天秤で、またファン流量を音速流量計で精度良く測定する。また、風洞試験時のマッハ数に相当する圧力比を得るために全体が気密容器になっている。本報では、装置の概要、機能と特性、および低速模擬推力検定について説明を行った。本装置の特徴は次の通りである。(1)装置内に音速圧力比、模擬マッハ数に相当する圧力比を設定できる。(2)差圧補償ベローズ機構、6自由度配管干渉除去機構などの採用により天秤への影響をかなり少なくできる。(3)遷音速圧力比の設定には遷音速風洞の排風機かそれと同様の排風能力を持つ機器を使用する必要がある。, Taking the opportunity of the development of STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) experimental aircraft 'Asuka', the thrust calibration tank for a TPS (Turbine Powered Simulator) was built in the transonic wind tunnel at National Aerospace Laboratory. In this tank, the thrust and fan flow are measured with great accuracy by using a balance and a sonic venturi meter, respectively. Also, the tank itself is made of an airtight container in order to get the pressure ratio equivalent to the Mach number at a wind tunnel test. This paper describes the outline, functions and characteristics of the tank, and also the thrust calibration at the low speed simulation. The characteristics of the tank are as follows. (1) The sonic pressure ratio, and the pressure ratio equivalent to the simulating Mach number can be set up in the tank. 20-21 May 1999 (62nd). 25-26 Nov. 1999 (63rd), 有翼宇宙往還機打ち上げ形態において、ロケットおよびアダプタの影響をヨー/ロールモードとして模擬し、この自由度を有する特殊な支持装置を製作した。チップフィン翼全機模型をこの支持装置に搭載し、航技研の遷音速風洞でフラッタ実験を行った。その結果、振動特性によってはヨーモードが連成するフラッタの発生が確認され、クリティカルになる可能性があることがわかった。また一部数値解析を行ったので併せて報告する。, The effect of the rocket and adapter for the launch condition of a winged re-entry space vehicle was simulated as the yaw or roll mode, and the specific supporting apparatus with this degree of freedom was manufactured. As a result, it was confirmed that the flutter coupled by the yawing mode was generated depending on some vibration properties and that the flutter could become critical. 自然層流翼型に組み込んだ前縁吸い込みシステムを持つハイブリッド(HLFC)層流制御翼模型の、主に遷音速マッハ数における抵抗低減効果を確認するために、風洞試験を行った。その結果、本システムは設計、非設計条件の如何にかかわらず、きわめてわずかな吸い込みにより、大きなウエーク抵抗の減少を与えることが確認された。この抵抗低減効果のほかに本試験では、かなり広いマッハ数領域において、ある範囲の吸い込み量に対して揚力が吸い込み無しの時より増加することが見いだされた。この揚力の増加は、抵抗の低減だけから期待されるよりはるかに大きな揚抗比の増加をもたらす。, A transonic wind tunnel test of an HLFC (Hybrid Laminar Flow Control) wing model with a new leading edge suction system incorporated with a natural laminar flow airfoil was conducted to check mainly the drag reducing effect of the suction system in the transonic Mach number range. The test confirmed that the system works well in both design and off-design conditions, resulting in significant drag reduction in a wake drag with even a small amount of suction. Besides the drag reducing effect, it was found that the system produces considerable lift increase for some suction quantity ranges in a wide range of test Mach number. Using PSP, pressure field on model surfaces can be evaluated from luminescence intensity of the paint emission. In order to use PSP in production wind tunnel testing, the measurement system called Pressure field Imaging Camera System (PICS) has been developed. The hardware of PICS consists of an excitation light, light delivery system, a filter wheel, a high resolution CCD (Charge Coupled Device) camera, computer system, a sample calibration chamber, etc. The whole processes, including data acquisition, image processing, and paint calibration are handled by a set of dedicated software. Simple image processing is made on site in an interactive manner and data is stored for more sophisticated post processing. 可視化法(感温液晶法および油膜法)を用いて一様流中におかれた円柱模型表面の境界層および剥離流れの様子をレイノルズ数5×10(exp 5)から30×10(exp 5)の範囲でマッハ数0.5を中心に調べた。その結果、臨界レイノルズ数付近では円柱模型表面の境界層に層流剥離泡(バブル)が形成され、スパン方向に細胞室状のcell渦構造が確認された。この結果、円柱模型表面上の剥離線の2次元性は臨界レイノルズ数領域で悪くなり複雑さが増すことが明らかとなった。さらにレイノルズ数が増加するにつれ、層流剥離泡は消滅し、剥離線の隣合う渦間の距離は、cell渦構造を含めて模型直径の約1.3〜0.3倍程度になる。円柱模型上の境界層が3次元剥離を起こしていることが流れの可視化法により観測され、後流に影響が及んでいることが判明した。また通風時間が比較的短く気流温度制御をしていない吹き出し式風洞(航空宇宙技術研究所・2次元遷音風洞)において、感温液晶法を用いた境界層流れの可視化を試み、その技術を確立した。, Flow visualization tests have been conducted in the NAL (National Aerospace Laboratory) two-dimensional transonic wind tunnel to investigate the boundary layer separation over circular-cylinder models at Reynolds number range of 5 x 10(exp 5) to 30 x 10(exp 5) and a Mach number of around 0.5. The laminar separation bubbles are observed on the surface around the critical Reynolds number and the cell-like structures are seen along the span. As Reynolds number increases, the laminar bubbles disappear and the flow field becomes more complicated. The ratio of the average cell length to the cylinder diameter is about 0.3 to 1.3 at Reynolds number of 20 x 10(exp 5). 現在JAXA2m×2m遷音速風洞においては、試験目的に応じて使い分けられる3つの測定部カートがあり、同じカートを使う試験が続かないように試験スケジュールを計画して運用し、ひとつの測定部カートを用いた試験中に別の測定部カートで試験準備を行うことで風洞試験を効率的に行うように工夫している。しかしながら近年、第1カートと呼ばれる全機模型用カートの利用希望が集中し、これを用いた試験が続かざるを得ない状況となっている。これにより通風試験が完全に終了しないと次の試験準備に取り掛かることができないため、設備生産性の低下が見受けられるようになった。そこで、第1カートと同じ形状のカート(第4カート)を増設することとし、併せていくつか新機能を持たせることとした。これら新機能のうち「模型支持装置を洞外でも単独で制御できる制御システム」および「天秤、圧力センサなどの計測機器の出力を取込み、処理できる計測システムを搭載する」ことは、センサなどの計測機器の設置を含めた模型のセットアップやキャリブレーションなど、従来より広範囲の計測準備作業を行うことを可能としている。本書では、その新しい計測システムの概要について紹介するものである。, 資料番号: AA0063330006, レポート番号: JAXA-SP-06-020

The results of comparing tests on the 06 and 07HOPE model showed that the peak of difference of Cn(sub beta) of 07HOPE model is three times as large as that of 06, but other differences were roughly in the same level and tendency. Elastic pitching modes may be involved in the dynamic characteristics in case of the launching configuration for this vehicle, which will be mounted atop to the booster rocket. This kind of modes should be taken into consideration in the flutter analysis since the flutter can be critical at the launching phase. A sting-support-system with controllable pitching rigidity was innovated and tested in a transonic wind tunnel. As the results, a pitching mode flutter occurred. 航空宇宙技術研究所遷音速風洞の複合荷重式自動天秤較正装置を用いて内挿式6分力天秤の剛性の決定を試みた。供試天秤として、φ50mm〜φ60mmクラスの、製作会社の異なる3体の一体化天秤を選び、剛性の大きさを比較した。またその違いと別途求まる天秤の干渉特性との関係について考察した。この結果天秤感度低下が実用上問題にならない範囲で天秤剛性を高めることで干渉量をかなり小さく押さえられることが判明し、干渉の小さい天秤を設計できる可能性を示した。一方天秤エレメントの剛性が低い場合には干渉量が大きくこの場合にはその量を正しく評価し天秤精度を確保する事が最も重要となる。通常干渉特性は非線型性を有し従って天秤特性も非線型多項式で表現しなくてはならず、複合荷重による天秤較正が必要であることも示した。, The relation between balance characteristics and its stiffness is discussed, emphasizing the evaluation of first and second order interference terms of the balance. Three kinds of internal balances are used for this purpose. Balance characteristics are determined with the automatic balance calibration system of the NAL-TWT (Transonic Wind Tunnel). During balance calibration, the strokes of six electric actuators for repositioning are stored as a data file. The balance deflections like capital delta X, capital delta Y, capital delta Z, capital delta phi, capital delta theta and capital delta psi at full loading are calculated with this data file. 逆対称モードフラッタの特性を把握するために特殊な支持装置を開発した。この支持装置はロール方向に自由度を有しており、その自由度をサーボモータによりコントロールできる機構を持ち、対称モードフラッタとの限界動圧の差を利用したフラッタ停止装置の機能も併せ持つ。航空宇宙技術研究所の遷音速風洞でダミーの全機模型を用いて風洞実験を行った結果、逆対称モードフラッタをクリティカルなモードとして捕らえることができ、さらにフラッタの停止を図ることができ機構の有効性が確認された。また、DPM(Doublet Point Method)を用いて胴体面をも含めて非定常空気力を解析し、逆対称モードフラッタ特性を求めた。, To address the wing flutter problem, it is important to take into consideration the anti-symmetric mode since it sometimes becomes the most critical mode. For wind tunnel experiments, a peculiar supporting system is made, which allows motion of the model about its roll axis. This system also has a function that can constrain rolling motion to stop anti-symmetric mode flutter. Flutter experiments were conducted in TWT (Transonic Wind Tunnel) at NAL. It was confirmed that anti-symmetric mode flutter occurred at the flutter boundary and that the supporting system worked successfully. Wind tunnel tests were performed using the same HOPE 2.5 percent scale model using the same balance and sting as the first step in developing wind tunnel uncertainties for HOPE. NAL 2 m x 2 m transonic wind tunnel and KHI 1 m x 1 m transonic wind tunnel which belongs to Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd., were used in the transonic speed range. Wind tunnel uncertainties which are estimated as root mean square values calculated from differences between two wind tunnel test results, are called tolerances in this report. Tolerances are compared with force measurement accuracy of the sting type balance and turn out to be almost the same order of balance error except in the about Mach number one speed range. 航空宇宙技術研究所2m×2m遷音速風洞用排風機設備は、風洞の内部圧力制御および内部空気置換を行うために設置され、30年間以上運転されて来たが、老朽化による性能低下が著しく、新排風機設備に更新される事となった。新排風機設備用圧縮機は、ルーツブロアー、往復動圧縮機、スクリュ圧縮機ウェットタイプ、スクリュ圧縮機ドライタイプのそれぞれの特徴を調査し、据え付け面積という基本的な条件を満たすものとして、再びスクリュ圧縮機ドライタイプを採用する事とした。基本的な考えとして、公称排気容量10,000立方メートル/hの同じ圧縮機2台で構成して省力化および高効率化を狙い、それぞれを375kwの極数変換電動機と組合わせて2段変速を行い、合計容量を5,000立方メートル/h、10,000立方メートル/h、15,000立方メートル/h、20,000立方メートル/hの4段階に調節可能なものとした。制御方式は、風洞内部圧力の設定値と測定値との差を常に計測し、その大きさにより4段階の容量のそれぞれを自動的に割り付けて、有効な運転を行わせるものとした。また、制御室側の制御操作盤を全廃し、1987年5月に完成した主送風機制御監視システム(操作指令用計算機および制御用計算機などで構成)とオンライン化することで、現場制御操作盤と同等の監視が行え、主送風機運転員による操作が可能となり、省力化が実現した。, An exhaust system is used to control the tunnel pressure and to exchange air in the NAL 2 m x 2 m transonic wind tunnel. Due to deterioration, the exhaust system was replaced, as well as other equipment, in 1988. This paper summarizes the replacement of this system. The new system consists of two exhausters, a piping system, valves, a control system, etc. The pole change induction motor is used to drive each screw type compressor, and the total capacity of evacuation is changed in four steps. During the replacement, efforts were made to increase its energy efficiency, to simplify the total system, and to accomplish the automatic control of Mach number. 航技研遷音速風洞では1993年度に複合荷重式自動天秤較正装置を導入し調整運転を行ってきた。同装置のシステムの詳細(構造や機能)は文献1に述べた。本報告は複合荷重式自動天秤較正装置の評価を行う目的で、調整運転中に収集した2体の一体加工式内挿天秤の較正試験結果を解析評価したものである。供試天秤は国産天秤1体と外国天秤1体で、いずれも航技研遷音速風洞の標準天秤である。本研究の目的は、従来の成分荷重方式による天秤較正係数決定と複合荷重による係数決定との精度の比較、繰返して試験を行った場合の天秤較正係数の再現性検討、異なった較正装置で決定した天秤較正係数の比較検討、複合負荷形態の天秤較正係数への影響、複合荷重式自動天秤較正装置の運転計測上の問題点の洗いだし、などである。一連の調整運転で得た試験データを解析した結果、求まる天秤較正係数の再現性は比較的優れており、またそれら係数マトリックスも実際の風洞試験に適用できるものと判断している。しかしM(sub x)成分の精度向上など改善すべき事項も残されており引き続きシステムの精度向上を図る努力も必要である。, The shakedown operation of the new automatic balance calibration system has been conducted since 1993 with two typical internal balances for the NAL-TWT (Transonic Wind Tunnel). The calibration system including hardware and software has already been described in detail. In this paper, the balance calibration results during shakedown operation are analyzed for evaluation of the new system. Emphasis is placed on the following items: comparison of the calibration results between the component loading method and the combination loading method in balance calibration, repeatability of the coefficient matrices of two balances in the operation, comparison of the calibration results obtained with several balance calibration systems, effects of combination loading profiles on the coefficient matrices of balances, and findings of the problems concerning the system operation. It is concluded that repeatability of the coefficient matrices of the balances is excellent and that they are applicable to data treatment of transonic wind tunnel tests. This paper describes the content of the new mechanisms together with an outline of the replacement process. The driving mechanism, which is used to set the nozzle wall contour through positioning all ten jacks attached to the wall, is changed from a hydraulic-based system to an electric-based one taking advantage of the recent development in the power range of electric servo-motors. The choice of the electric system was made based on the standpoint of the maintainability and controllability. The control mechanism is changed from a mechanical analog system to a computer-controlled digital system. In the former system, a set of cams, one for each of ten jacks, was employed to determine the jack positions in a coordinated manner. In the new system, each jack motion is ruled independently from the others by the instruction from the computer. 集合胴における温度分布とスロット壁に沿った試験部分の静圧分布を測定した。集合胴における温度分布は手で互に交差した2つの熱電対で測定した。集合胴における温度の変化は集合胴の壁に沿った熱的な境界層を除いてプラスマイナス1K以内であった。熱的な境界層の厚さは50ミリ以下であったが、脚部のどの部分よりも厚かった。試験部分の静圧の測定結果は、浮力効果が7.5ミリのAGARD-Bモデルの6カウント分の抗力上昇を引き起こす圧力傾斜を明らかにした。, Temperature distributions at the settling chamber and test section static pressure distributions along the slotted wall are dealt with. Temperature distributions at the settling chamber were measured by two thermocouple probes which were traversed by hand alternately. The variation in temperature at the settling chamber was within +/- 1 K except for the thermal boundary layer along the settling chamber wall. The thermal boundary layer thickness was less than 50 mm, but was more than any other station near the leg. 数値計算の信頼性を調べる目的で、航空宇宙技術研究所遷音速風洞内のONERA-M5全機形状模型のまわりの流れを数値的に解析する試みを続けている。この試みでは、複雑な形状のまわりの流れの計算を行うために領域分割法を用い、各部分領域でChakravathy-OsherのTVDスキームにより薄層近似ナビエ･ストークス方程式を解いている。今回は、航空宇宙技術研究所並列ベクトル計算機NWT上におけるこの領域分割法の単純ベクトル並列アルゴリズムを示し、それによるシミュレーションを行う。計算された圧力、揚力および抵抗は実験値とよく一致した。並列処理の性能に関しては、計算時間が最大の格子点数をもつ部分領域上の計算時間にまで短縮され、要素プロセッサ間の交信所要時間は無視し得るほどに小さい。, It has been tried continuously to numerically analyze NAL (National Aerospace Laboratory) transonic wind-tunnel flows about a fully configured model of aircraft, ONERA-M5, to investigate the reliability of numerical computations; in these trials a multi-domain technique is used to realize the computations of flows about a complicated configuration, and in each domain thin-layer Navier-Stokes equations are solved by the Chakravarthy-Osher TVD (Total Variation Diminishing) scheme. In this time the simple vector-parallel algorithm of this multi-domain technique on NAL's Numerical Wind Tunnel (NWT) system is presented and simulations have been performed. Consequently the computed pressure, lift and drag coefficients have agreed well with experimental ones. 遷音速風洞計測装置改修の一環として天秤較正装置の更新を行うこととした。本資料は実荷重による天秤較正法、データ処理法、較正結果等遷音速風洞での内装式天秤較正の現状を述べたものであり、この作業を通して新しく導入される装置の評価の目安を得ようとするものである。本較正作業では遷音速風洞で使用頻度の高い天秤2体(国産天秤と外国製天秤)を選び、3種類の天秤特性表示式を適用した。較正データ処理結果による両天秤ともその特性を線形表示した場合明らかに精度不足であった。特に複合負荷でその傾向が顕著であった。一方天秤特性を非線形表示することで精度は力測定試験で許容できる範囲に十分収まっていること、また天秤特性を2次式で評価した場合と3次式で評価した場合の精度の違いおよび2本の天秤の精度の違いは小さいこと等を示した。また較正マトリックスをデルタ翼模型の遷音速風試結果に適用し、天秤特性表示式の違いによる計測結果への影響を示した。, NAL (National Aerospace Laboratory) decided to renew the balance calibration rig as a part of the revision program of the instrumentation system for the NAL-TWT (Transonic Wind Tunnel). In this paper, the method of the balance calibration using dead weight, data processing method and calibration results are presented. In the data reduction, three analytical formulae to describe the balance characteristics are applied. The linear expression is poor in accuracy compared with the non-linear formulae including second and third order terms. In the case of non-linear expressions, standard deviations for six balance components are small enough to be acceptable in wind tunnel force tests. The difference in the accuracy between second and third order formulae is small.
