The anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects of a cream containing extracts of African geranium (Pelargonium sidoides DC.), black elderberry (Sambucus nigra L.) and St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum L.) in colloidal nanosilver (AgNPs) at a concentration of 30 ppm, denoted as SILVER STOP® cream (SS® cream) was examined In vitro. The research was performed with Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC-6538 and two clinical strains). Suspension tests for determination the time of antimicrobial action of SS® cream were used. SS® cream showed significant antimicrobial activity. In suspension with a density of 104 cells.mL-1S. aureus died after 60 minutes of exposure to SS® cream. In suspension with concentration of 106 cells.mL-1, after 2 h only single cells remained viable. The anti-inflammatory effect was evaluated using human epithelial cell line HT-29, incubated with a type strain of S. aureus. After treatment with SS® cream, results have shown a statistically significant reduction of the levels of the pro-inflammatory cytokinesIL-6, IL-8, IP-10 and IL-1β.

Introduction. The local decompression therapy (including local abdominal decompression) is known to contribute to the intensity of capillary blood flow and improve the functional state of the microvasculature. We have proposed a development could be used for intravital investigation of changes in microcirculation directly under local negative pressure conditions.Purpose. Investigation of microcirculatory changes under the conditions of local negative pressure in the rat intestine and mesentery combined with pharmacological effects.Materials and methods. Unit for vital microscopy under local negative pressure was used for this work. The specific of the unit is the ability of continuous record the field of view of the microscope before, during and after the decompression session. In the experiment there were used Wistar rat males weighing 300–450 g, distributed into 5 groups of 5 animals. The animals were divided into groups depending on the pharmacological impact: atropine, pilocarpinum, drotaverine and chloropyramine and the control group.Results. It has been shown that dynamics of vascular constriction and dilatation after decompression session varies in response of certain agents suggested the involvement of certain receptor fields. The changing vessel number within the video recording frames by groups of animals was analyzed at different stages of exposure: before decompression, during decompression, within 1 minute after exposure, as well as in the interval from 1 to 5 minutes and from 5 to 19 minutes after exposure. In all groups vasoconstriction preceded decompression (i. e., reduced number of vessels in the frame), but in all of them vasodilation (increased number of vessels in the frame) occurred in the first minute after decompression. Interestingly, in the «drotaverine» group, the dynamics of changes was most pronounced: unlike other groups, vasoconstriction (0,24±0,177 %) continued during decompression, and expansion right after exposure was also highly expressed (1.034±0.997 %).Conclusion. hyperemic changes and the severity of prolongation of these changes was shown to be different depending on the type of pharmacological effect and could be recorded by the experimental unit developed by the authors.

The article provides a theoretical analysis of the causes of arterial hypertension, describes a three-month observation of the initial stage of the development of hypertension and experiments on non-drug normalization of blood pressure on a group of volunteers. It has been shown that arterial hypertension is associated with spastic conditions of the intervertebral muscles in the lower thoracic spine, which lead to compression of the sympathetic nerves that control the transport of water through the kidneys and disturb the balance of fluid circulation through the circulatory system. The possibility of prevention of arterial hypertension and non-drug rehabilitation of patients with this disease has been shown.

The possibility of prevention of arterial hypertension and non-drug rehabilitation of patients with this disease has been shown.

In connection with the constantly increasing use of monoclonal antibodies labeled with 89Zr, in clinical practice, it is urgent to study their pharmacokinetics with the determination, based on the data obtained, of absorbed doses in tumor foci, as well as intact organs and tissues, and effective doses of patients. To date, there are a limited number of studies that provide patient doses for diagnostic examinations using 89Zr-labeled monoclonal antibodies. In this regard, the purpose of this work was to assess the biodistribution of various monoclonal antibodies (ramucirumab, trastuzumab, atezolizumab) labeled with 89Zr, based on published data, with subsequent calculation of absorbed doses in radiosensitive organs and tissues and effective doses of patients. Based on the analysis of experimental data on the biodistribution of monoclonal antibodies labeled with 89Zr for the diagnosis of oncological diseases from the available literature sources and our own assessments, it has been concluded that the results of the determination of absorbed in organs and tissues and effective doses are inconsistent. The absorbed doses in organs, according to different literature sources, vary up to an order of magnitude within one organ and reach 440 mGy per examination, the effective dose varies from 3 to 112 mSv per examination. This may be due to differences in study design, radiometry and dose assessment methods. Comparison with doses obtained on the basis of a general model of biodistribution of monoclonal antibodies demonstrates the possibility of using this model for a rough estimate of internal doses of patients. However, for a more accurate assessment, it is necessary to standardize approaches to the determination of internal radiation doses using the most effective methodological solutions and software products.

The wide use of cobalt (Co) due to anthropogenic and industrial activities has increased its concentration in the environment in the last years. Cobalt chloride (CoCl2) is the most commonly used agent in experimental models for inducing chemical hypoxia. The present study was designed to elucidate the effect of chronic CoCl2 exposure on transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1) in various organs of immature mice in relation to iron (Fe) metabolism. Pregnant ICR mice were subjected to daily dose of 75 mg/kg body weight CoCl2x6H2O 2–3 days before they gave birth and treatment continued until days 18 and 25 after deliver. The compound was dissolved and administrated with drinking tap water. Age-matched mice obtaining regular tap water were used as a control group. On days 18 and 25 pups were sacrificed, spleens, livers, kidneys, testes and brains were excised and processed for immunohistochemical analysis. The results show altered tissue-specific TfR expression in the studied organs of CoCl2-treated immature mice. Our data on the effects of chronic CoCl2 exposure on TfR expression contribute for the elucidation of the complex regulatory machinery of iron homeostasis.

Lead (Pb) directly targets testicular spermatogenesis and also the sperms in the epididymis inducing reproductive toxicity. In our study we compare the effects of meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) and tetraethylammonium salt of salinomycinic acid on Pb content and the endogenous levels of calcium, copper, zinc and iron in testis of mice, subjected to Pb intoxication. We present new data on the effect of both chelating agents on testis morphology and sperm count of mice, subjected to subacute Pb intoxication. Adult male ICR mice were orally subjected to Pb intoxication for 14 days (average daily dose 80 mg/kg b.w. Pb(NO3)2) followed by treatment with 20 mg/kg b.w. DMSA or tetraethylammonium salts of salinomycinic acid for another 2 weeks. Testes were used for histological and atomic absorption spectrometry analysis. Spermatozoa were isolated from both ductus deferens and counted. Both chelating agents considerably reduced Pb content in the testis compared to the toxic control. The administration of tetraethylammonium salt of salinomycinic acid ameliorated Pb induced alterations in Cu and Zn homeostasis and significantly restored endogenous Ca levels unlike DMSA. Testicular morphology of Pb intoxicated mice recovered to control after salinomycin treatment but sperm count remains 21% lower compared to the untreated mice. These results suggest the potential application of salinomycin as antidote for treatment of lead intoxications.

The research was performed with Esherichia coli (ATCC and two clinical isolates), Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC and two clinical strains), and Candida albicans (ATCC and two clinical isolates). The colloidal nanosilver at a concentration of 30 ppm was from EVODROP AG, Switzerland. The agar-gel diffusion method and suspension tests for determination the time of antimicrobial ac-tion of SILVER STOP® cream were used. SILVER STOP® cream showed significant antimicrobial activity. The Gram-negative microorganisms tested died in a much shorter time than the Gram-positive ones. The highest sensitivity was found in E. coli. The oval fungus C. albicans showed lowest sensitivity. The curative effect of SILVER STOP® cream was also examined in vivo in dogs with different skin diseases. The results showed successful healing of the diseases and very god effect of the cream. It can be used successfully as a harmless herbal medicine for external treat-ment of skin diseases including bacterial and fungal infections.

The problem of negative heat capacity, discussed in a number of theoretical and experimental works dealing with weak itinerant magnets, is studied. A detailed analysis of the heat capacity of helicoidal itinerant magnet MnSi apparently demonstrates that the negative heat capacity in this case is a false effect because the interaction of the spin subsystem with other degrees of freedom is ignored in the analysis of the partial contributions to the heat capacity of the system. The negative heat capacity obtained by subtracting the electron and phonon components from the total heat capacity of the system is obviously an effective magnetic contribution, including the effects of spin–phonon coupling.

The article justifies the advantages of using the additional criterion of “respectable precedence” for an objective assessment of the linguistic form used in the media discourse, according to the parameter “decent / indecent”. The authors, referring to the data of modern research, notice the lack of a common understanding and unambiguous definition of indecent vocabulary, highlight the objective and subjective factors that complicate the solution of this problem, emphasize those features of the media text that make the concept of “(not) decent” linguistic form very relative. The criterion proposed by the authors takes into account the practice of using a controversial linguistic unit in respectable public communication and relies on representative data of electronic text corpora, which makes it possible to verify the results of linguistic analysis. The article presents the outcomes of expert assessment of vocabulary with negative connotation using the above-mentioned criterion.

The Russian Federation's State Policy in the field of land and property relations is aimed at the land resources rational use as the most important component of the country's national wealth. In accordance with the policy papers and special-purpose projects of the international and regional level adopted in the Russian Federation in recent decades, environmental protection as one of the priority areas includes the formation and ensuring the sustainable functioning of specially protected nature conservation areas system of different levels and categories. According to the legislation, boundaries of specially protected nature conservation areas data and their protected zones must be entered in the Unified State Register of Real Estate, which ensures timely informing of concerned parties about exist restrictions in the land use mode. An analytical work being conducted review on the cadastral registration of specially protected nature conservation areas and their protected zones showed the absence or incorrect reflection of relevant information in the real estate cadastre, which is the reason for the environmental regime violation and numerous proceedings.

The transverse and longitudinal magnetoresistance (MR) of two samples of the topological chiral semimetal CoSi with different RRR was studied. It is shown that the Kohler rule works for the transverse MR. The Kohler rule is also fulfilled in the case of longitudinal MR at a low reduced magnetic field. A sharp deviation of longitudinal MR curve for sample with low RRR from the Kohler prediction at high fields reveals its tendency to a sign change at higher magnetic fields. The Shubnikov de Haas quantum oscillations were observed and analyzed in both perpendicular and parallel configurations of the current and magnetic field in sample CoSi 1 with RRR 9.33 at low temperatures., 5 pages, 9 figures

Transcriptomic studies have revealed a large number of uncharacterized genes that are differentially expressed in biofilms, which may be important in regulating biofilm phenotypes such as resistance to antimicrobial agents. To identify biofilm genes of unknown function in P. aeruginosa, we made use of RNA-seq and selected 27 uncharacterized genes that were induced upon biofilm growth. Biofilms by respective mutants were subsequently analyzed for two biofilm characteristics, the biofilm architecture and drug susceptibility. The screen revealed 12 out of 27 genes to contribute to biofilm formation and 13 drug susceptibility, with 8 genes affecting both biofilm phenotypes. Amongst the genes affecting both biofilm phenotypes was PA2146, encoding a small hypothetical protein that exhibited some of the most substantial increases in transcript abundance during biofilm growth by P. aeruginosa PAO1 and clinical isolates. PA2146 is highly conserved in ɣ-proteobacteria. Inactivation of PA2146 affected both biofilm phenotypes in P. aeruginosa PAO1, with inactivation of homologs in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli having similar effects. Heterologous expression of PA2146 homologs complemented the P. aeruginosa ∆PA2146, suggesting that PA2146 homologs substitute for and play a similar role as PA2146 in P. aeruginosa.

Context. Accurate detections of frequent small-scale extreme ultraviolet (EUV) brightenings are essential to the investigation of the physical processes heating the corona. Aims. We detected small-scale brightenings, termed campfires, using their morphological and intensity structures as observed in coronal EUV imaging observations for statistical analysis. Methods. We applied a method based on Zernike moments and a support vector machine (SVM) classifier to automatically identify and track campfires observed by Solar Orbiter/Extreme Ultraviolet Imager (EUI) and Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO)/Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA). Results. This method detected 8678 campfires (with length scales between 400 km and 4000 km) from a sequence of 50 High Resolution EUV telescope (HRIEUV) 174 Å images. From 21 near co-temporal AIA images covering the same field of view as EUI, we found 1131 campfires, 58% of which were also detected in HRIEUV images. In contrast, about 16% of campfires recognized in HRIEUV were detected by AIA. We obtain a campfire birthrate of 2 × 10−16 m−2 s−1. About 40% of campfires show a duration longer than 5 s, having been observed in at least two HRIEUV images. We find that 27% of campfires were found in coronal bright points and the remaining 73% have occurred out of coronal bright points. We detected 23 EUI campfires with a duration greater than 245 s. We found that about 80% of campfires are formed at supergranular boundaries, and the features with the highest total intensities are generated at network junctions and intense H I Lyman-α emission regions observed by EUI/HRILya. The probability distribution functions for the total intensity, peak intensity, and projected area of campfires follow a power law behavior with absolute indices between 2 and 3. This self-similar behavior is a possible signature of self-organization, or even self-organized criticality, in the campfire formation process.

The aim of the research is to provide a comprehensive linguocultural characteristic of a folk tale. The research is based on the material of the Irish Fairy and Folk Tales tale anthology, compiled and edited by W. B. Yeats. The research results allow for a suggestion that linguocultural markers are to be found on both ideologic-compositional and speech levels of a text. Thus, the motives of Christian morality form the basis for reciprocal altruism which is the conceptual entity of Irish folk tales. The tale structure is often linear and consists of a short introduction, the main part and the climax turning into a short sharp denouement. Irish folk tales are often a metaphor for the rite of passage. The didactic function of tales consists in demonstrating the possibilities of sin purge through their recognition and repentance. Tales also set social rules and norms. Culture-specific language units encountered in the texts of Irish folk tales belong to different levels of the English language system. The phonetic level reveals such features as metathesis, final consonant reduction, imitation of aspiration, alliteration, wordplay based on homophony, etc. They imitate a peculiar Irish accent and exert some vernacular effect. The lexical level is represented by culture-bound vocabulary including ethnographical terms, anthroponyms and geographical names, both real and invented, various kinds of borrowings from Irish Gaeilge,quotations etc. Some cultural features are exhibited in grammar and text rhythm, chiefly through the use of specific verb forms of Irish English as well as certain correlations of repetition-based rhythmic devices – polysyndeton, diacope, anaphora, epizeuxis, symploce etc. The study of linguocultural text markers gives a comprehensive idea of intra- and extralinguistic characteristics of the tale.

Various critical phenomena and critical points appearing in many-particle systems under the variation of external conditions (fields), including the temperature, pressure, and magnetic and electric fields are described. Laws of statistical physics are universal for any particular nature of particles and the considered phenomena can be observed in systems of macroparticles (colloids), atoms, molecules, and subnuclear particles (nucleons and quarks).

The article considers the procedure for identification of unused agricultural land for its involvement in economic turnover. The object of study is the Yaroslavl and Smolensk regions of the Russian Federation, where the share of unused agricultural land is from 12 to 50%. This identification is based on the methods of planned land inventory, the main purpose of which is to assess the reasons for land disposal, the cultural and technical conditions of land and preparation of recommendations for introduction of lands into agricultural circulation. This work includes the proposals to establish the order of involvement of land plots into economic turnover.

The article is devoted to the semantic structure of the verb “prisnat’sya” (to confess). The work was carried out in line with the integral description of vocabulary and linguoaxiology. Particular attention is paid to the axiological component of the semantics of the investigated verb. The lexicographic portrayal of the lexeme is applied according to the principles of integral description. It is shown that the verb “prisnat’sya” (to confess) can serve as a metalanguage means of revealing the value components of linguistic units and the realities indicated by them. The material of the study was Russian texts, primarily from the National Corps of the Russian Language, and contexts constructed by the author that are linguistically relevant for solving the problems posed in the article. Interpretations of the verb “prisnat’sya” (to confess) in authoritative dictionaries of the Russian language of the 20th - 21st centuries are critically examined, and its semantic specificity is defined. An explanation of the verb “prisnat’sya” (to confess) in a clichéd expression “prisnat’sya v lyubvi” (to confess one’s love to someone) is offered. The semantic-pragmatic, morphological, syntactic, communicative-prosodic difference between the three groups of uses of the analyzed verb is demonstrated. The first two groups of uses are covered by an axiologically labeled token confess1 , against which the concept of an axiological homonym “prisnat’sya” (to confess)2 is introduced. As a result of the analysis, our own analytical interpretations are proposed “prisnat’sya” (to confess)1 and “prisnat’sya” (to confess)2 . It is concluded that the presuppositional component of its semantics is a semantic factor that ensures the ability of a token “prisnat’sya” (to confess)1 to be a metalinguistic indicator of values.

A brief overview of the results of experimental studies of the magnetic phase transition in the chiral MnSi magnet is given. Evidence for the fluctuational nature of the first-order phase transition in the magnet under study is provided. The nature of the secondary maximum in the curves describing the behavior of the specific heat, the thermal expansion coefficient, the temperature derivative of the electrical resistivity, and the sound absorption is discussed. The situation related to the manifestation of quantum critical behavior in MnSi and (MnFe)Si at low temperatures is analyzed.

Сerium(IV) oxide, copper(II) oxide and their composite (CeO2/CuO) were successfully synthesized via a simple method—solution combustion synthesis (SCS). The obtained samples were tested as a catalyst for the conversion of n-hexane, which could become the first step to further the synthesis of new simple catalysts constituted from oxide or composite in order to replace traditional ones and maintain a steady level of activity, which is urgently needed in petroleum refineries. The characteristics of the synthesized catalysts were achieved by various methods based on the analysis of TG/DSC, XRD, SEM, N2 adsorption−desorption and determination of acid−base centers. Through analysis of thermochemical aspects revealed that the SCS process can be divided into 3 stages: evaporation of water to form a viscous mixture, combustion complex compounds and removal of residual substances. The ignition temperature touched 205, 226, and 233°C for the synthesis of CeO2/CuO, CeO2, and CuO catalysts, respectively. The combustion mode took place at different rates, therein the synthesis of composite combusted earlier and weaker than its oxides. Here, the relationship between particle size, morphology, surface area, and catalytic activity is also discussed. It was shown that among catalysts mentioned above, the CeO2 sample exhibited the highest activity in the isomerization reactions of n-hexane conversion (68.7%), which was explained by the highest specific surface area (85.8 m2/g), and concentration of Lewis base centers (276.1 µmol/g). These findings are worth considering because of some of its advantages compared to commercial catalysts.

The article provides an assessment of the fixed assets of a furniture enterprise. The main directions and tools for analyzing the fixed assets of the enterprise are disclosed, the structure of the fixed assets of the enterprise and their movement over the annual period of time are considered. The article provides quantitative indicators of the movement of fixed assets of the enterprise for the studied period of time. Based on the results obtained, the main activities aimed at increasing the efficiency of using the fixed assets of a furniture enterprise were formed.

The resistance of bacteria to β-lactam antibiotics is primarily caused by the production of β-lactamases. Here, novel crystal structures of the native β-lactamase TEM-171 and two complexes with the widely used inhibitor tazobactam are presented, alongside complementary data from UV spectroscopy and fluorescence quenching. The six chemically identical β-lactamase molecules in the crystallographic asymmetric unit displayed different degrees of disorder. The tazobactam intermediate was covalently bound to the catalytic Ser70 in the trans-enamine configuration. While the conformation of tazobactam in the first complex resembled that in published β-lactamase–tazobactam structures, in the second complex, which was obtained after longer soaking of the native crystals in the inhibitor solution, a new and previously unreported tazobactam conformation was observed. It is proposed that the two complexes correspond to different stages along the deacylation path of the acyl-enzyme intermediate. The results provide a novel structural basis for the rational design of new β-lactamase inhibitors.

The samples of (Mn$_{1-x}$Co$_x$)Si with $x=0.15$ and $x=0.17$ were grown and their physical properties: magnetization and magnetic susceptibility, resistivity and heat capacity were studied. The data analysis included also the previous results at $x=0.057, 0.063, 0.09$. The indicated doping MnSi with Co completely destroys the helical phase transition whereas basically saves the helical fluctuation area normally situated slightly above the phase transition temperature. This area spreading from $\sim$5 to 0 K is not changed much with doping and forms some sort of helical fluctuation cloud revealing the quantum critical properties: $C_p/T\rightarrow\infty$ at $T\rightarrow0$., Comment: 5 pages, 13 figures
