BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: This study investigates the impact of demographic factors and skill enhancements on salary increments at Guangzhou Wangming Water Joy Design Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese company in the water park equipment sector using Light-Resin Transfer Molding technology. It aims to propose targeted strategies for boosting employee welfare and enhancing the company's competitive edge and organizational success.METHODS: Employing a quantitative descriptive research approach, the study collected data through survey questionnaires from 224 employees, including 196 teachers and 28 supervisors. The analysis involved calculating percentages and frequencies to describe respondent demographics and using weighted means to assess factors influencing salary increments and employee welfare.FINDINGS: Founded in 2006 and now operating in over 30 countries, the company demonstrates a significant global presence. Workforce analysis revealed a predominantly male demographic (63.33%) and a significant concentration of employees aged 36-45 years (83.33%), indicative of a mature and experienced employee base. Crucially, skill enhancement correlated strongly with salary progression, and structured professional development was linked to high employee satisfaction. Key measures included a mean satisfaction rating of 4.15 for work-life balance initiatives and a mean effectiveness rating of 4.20 for training programs.CONCLUSION: Based on the findings, it is recommended that the company integrate historical narratives into employee training programs to foster organizational pride and loyalty. Furthermore, expanding diversity and inclusion efforts, emphasizing continuous learning, enhancing welfare programs, and instituting adaptive feedback mechanisms are essential for addressing the complexities of employee demographics and improving salary increment practices. These strategies are vital for promoting employee welfare and reinforcing the company's competitive stance in the global market.

The results of studies of long-term effects of population exposure in the South Urals in the 1950s were based for a long time on studies of the effects of exposure in the Techa River cohort and later in the East Urals Radioactive Trace cohort. After the creation of the South Urals Population Exposed to Radiation cohort, combining all persons exposed in the South Urals in the period from January 1, 1950, to December 31, 1960 the size of the cohort doubled, follow-up period reached 71 years, and the number of person-years at risk increased to 1,964,333. The objective of the study is to analyze solid cancer mortality and estimate the risk value of solid cancer mortality in the offspring of parents irradiated in the Southern Urals, depending on the dose to the parents' gonads as well as to conduct a preliminary assessment of the mortality risk from cancer of individual locations depending on the gonadal dose. The issue of the transgenerational effects of the human gonad exposure is still very important. There exists conclusive evidence of the presence of such effects in experimental animals. However, there is no proof of the existence of these effects in humans despite a great number of research on this subject. International scientific community and international organizations, UNSCEAR and ICRP being among them, regard this issue as the one that has not been solved yet and requires further studies. Urals Cohort of offspring of the population exposed on the Techa River and on the territory of the East Ural radioactive trace was established in the Urals research Center for Radiation medicine in 2022. The key feature of the cohort is the exclusion of the offspring with postnatal exposure. The size of the cohort as of September 2023 is 31,154 persons. The number of person-years over the whole follow-up period from 1950 through 2020 is 1 226 380. Mean dose to the gonads of mothers of all the cohort members is 41 mGy, to those of the fathers' — 35 mGy, mean combined gonad dose is 76 mGy. Over the whole follow-up period 3,774 deaths from all causes including 284 deaths from solid cancers were registered in the cohort. The mean age of the cohort members at the end of the follow-up period was 42 years. The risk of death was analyzed using Poisson regression by the programs of the EPICURE statistical software package. Three models of dose dependence were tested: linear, quadratic, and linear-quadratic models of paternal gonadal dose, maternal gonadal dose, and total gonadal dose. Mortality risk analysis of all solid cancers in the offspring cohort showed no statistically significant effect with parental gonadal dose (we have obtained positive although statistically insignificant values of solid cancers mortality risk) which is consistent with the results of other studies in human populations. At the same time, the analysis for the first time obtained a statistically significant linear dependence of the solid cancer mortality risk in offspring with father's age over 45 years depending on the dose to the father's gonads. The excess relative risk of death was 8.09/Gy, (0.51-22.93), p < 0.05. Also, for the first time, evidence of dose dependence of the mortality risk of lung cancer in male offspring on maternal gonadal dose, paternal gonadal dose, and combined gonadal dose was obtained. The values of excess relative risk of lung cancer and 95% confidence intervals according to the linear model were 5.39/Gy (0.46; 15.56) from paternal gonad dose, 4.36/Gy (0.15; 13.48) from maternal gonad dose, and - 3.95/Gy (0.55; 12.14) from combined gonad dose. Point risk estimates of lung cancer at this stage are characterized by wide confidence intervals and require additional studies to assess the influence of possible effect modifiers, but with a high degree of probability indicate the presence of dose dependence of this effect. Increasing the follow-up period and attained age, will increase the number of cancers in the future and will reduce dose response uncertainties and provide more accurate estimates of the risk of death in the offspring cohort.

The results of a review of the epizootiological and epidemiological situation on anthrax around the world in 2023 and the forecast of morbidity in the Russian Federation in 2024 are presented. In 2023, a complication of the epizootiological and epidemiological situation on this infection was recorded in Russia. Seven outbreaks of anthrax with infection of 14 farm animals and 19 humans were registered in five constituent entities of three federal districts (Volga, Siberian, and Central Federal Districts). Epizootiological and epidemiological instability due to the anthrax was detected in four neighboring countries: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Anthrax among farm and wild animals was recorded in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Cases of human disease were reported in Africa, Asia and Europe. Human infections occurred during contact with infected animals, products of animal origin, consumption of meat from sick/fallen livestock and wild animals. The incidence rate of anthrax in animals and humans in Russia in 2024 will correlate with the completeness of registration and specific immunization coverage of susceptible animals and persons from groups with high occupational risk of infection. With proper implementation of all preventive measures and effective surveillance of infection, anthrax incidence in the entities of the Russian Federation will amount to isolated cases.

Introduction. Determination of strength and deformation characteristics of soils composing the soil mass is the key process of calculation and design of structures of all types. High accuracy in determining mechanical characteristics plays a huge role at every stage of project development. Triaxial compression units are one of the most popular and widely used devices for laboratory research, as this type of testing allows you to reproduce the stress-strain state of the soil mass and determine its mechanical characteristics most accurately.Materials and methods. Experimental studies were performed on clay soil specimens (sandy loam, loam, clay) in a triaxial compression device in a consolidated-drained mode in order to study the effect of the coefficient of non-uniformity of expansion of the soil specimen on its mechanical properties.Results. Analyzing the data of experimental studies, it was found that the coefficient of non-uniformity of expansion of specimen b has a significant effect on the obtained values of the mechanical characteristics of clay soil, namely: the values of the angle of internal friction in the medium increased by 5 %; the values of specific adhesion increased by 4.4 % on average. However, it should be noted that despite the increase in the strength characteristics of the tested soil specimens, the exclusion of the coefficient b from the treatment process led to a decrease in the values of the secant deformation modulus at 50 % strength E50 by an average of 4.5 %.Conclusions. The obtained overestimated values of strength characteristics φ, c and underestimated values of deformation characteristics E50 are not critical, however, to increase the accuracy of calculations performed based on the results obtained as a result of in-house processing of laboratory test specimens, the coefficient of uneven expansion b of the specimen should be taken into account.

Tungsten (W) is one of the preferred plasma-facing materials for future fusion reactors because of the advantages of high melting point, low physical sputtering rate and low fuel retention. The lifetime and service performance of W materials are limited by erosion processes. In recent years, tungsten deuteride molecular (WD) sputtering has been discovered in tokamak. Studying WD sputtering helps to better understand the erosion of tungsten materials in tokamak. EAST adopts the method of injecting impurity gas in the divertor to alleviate the particle flux and heat flux bombarding the tungsten divertor, and CD4 is one of the impurities used. CD4 injection experiments on EAST show that after CD4 is injected from the upper outer (UO) divertor target, despite that the electron temperature (Te) around the strike point on the UO divertor target drops to about 8 eV, strong WD sputtering occurs in the far scrape-off layer (SOL) region. The divertor probe data shows that after CD4 injection, the particle flux from the upstream plasma onto the divertor split into two bands, creating a new particle flux strike point in the far SOL region. The energy of incident particles at the original strike point is significantly reduced, while the energy of incident particles at the far SOL region is enhanced. The edge electron density profile at mid-plane indicates that CD4 injection causes an increase of density in the SOL, which could improve the coupling of Lower-Hybrid Wave (LHW) with the edge plasma as evidenced by the decreasing reflected power of LHW. The increase in absorbed power of LHW could change the particle and energy transport in the edge plasma, thus plays an important role in the enhanced WD sputtering in the far SOL region after CD4 injection.
