The aim of the study was to summarize and systematize the literature data, as well as the results of the carried out research in the field of medicinal plants used as diuretics in the Russian Federation and abroad.Materials and methods. During the search for this review article materials, the abstract databases of PubMed, Google Scholar, as well as the ResearchGate and elibrary.ru were used. The search was carried out according to the publications for the period from 2005 to 2023. The keywords were as follows: herbal diuretics, diuretic drugs, kidney diseases, types of medicinal plant raw materials. The data from the authors’ previous scientific research on the analysis of the diuretic properties of certain types of medicinal plant raw materials, as well as individual substances of a phenolic nature isolated from them (simple phenols, flavonoids), were also reviewed.Results. It was determined that the diuretic activity of most of the medicinal plants used, is due to such groups of biologically active compounds as terpenoids (essential oils and saponins), simple phenols, flavonoids and anthracene derivatives related to the secondary metabolites. It has been shown that, despite the fact that many herbal diuretics have concomitant anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, antihistamine and other properties relevant from the point of view of etiology and pathogenesis of the disease, it is reasonable to use them as part of collections of medicinal plants and other combined medicinal herbal preparations, as this is in accordance with the global trend. The types of medicinal plant raw materials that can be a promising source of new diuretic herbal medicines, have been examined in this review.Conclusion. It has been determined that terpenoids and phenolic compounds make the greatest contribution to the manifestation of the diuretic activity of medicinal herbal preparations, among which the greatest structural diversity is noted for flavonoids. It has been established that in the composition of any drug, taking into account the peculiarities of etiology and pathogenesis of the disease, herbal diuretics can be both the main drug and an auxiliary component. The expediency of using medicinal plant raw materials with a diuretic effect as part of collections of medicinal plants and other combined preparations used in the treatment of kidney and urinary tract diseases has been also substantiated.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) ranks first among chronic joint diseases. The disease often affects people at their working age, being accompanied by significant decrease in the life quality of patients and their early disability. Rheumatoid arthritis is an immunoinflammatory rheumatic disease. Therefore, the immune system provides evolving focus of primary damage, its persistence and periodic exacerbation. Elucidation of intercellular relationships mediated by cytokines at various stages of the chronic inflammatory process is required in order to develop immunotherapeutic approaches, aimed for both recovery from exacerbations and maintenance of remission state. Purpose of our study was to evaluate cellular composition and cytokine profile of synovial fluid in the patients with rheumatoid arthritis at acute phase and in remission state.We have studied the samples of synovial fluid taken in 60 patients with rheumatoid arthritis, with 30 subjects being at acute stage of the disease, and 30 patients in remission. Cellular composition and cytokine profile were assessed in the clinical samples. There were 21 women and 9 men at the acute stage (57.0±15.4 years old), with the disease duration of 8.55±6.9 years. The average age of 19 women and 11 men examined in remission state was 53.5±10.9 years, with comparable duration of illness (6.9±5.8 years). The leukocyte phenotyping was performed with a CytoFLEX flow cytometer (Beckman Coulter, USA). The cytokine contents were measured by enzyme immunoassay using a standard set of reagents from the “Proteinovy Contour” LLC (Russia). The results were registered by a Multiscan photometer (Labsystems, Finland).During the disease exacerbation, the leukocyte contents in synovial fluid increased 2.4-fold, as compared to the remission values. The cellular infiltrate was represented by neutrophils, whereas the contents of lymphocytes and monocytes did not change. Increased migration of neutrophils was accompanied by an 8-fold increase in TNFα levels, compared with remission state, and IL-1β levels were increased by 6.3 times. The absolute number of CD3+T lymphocytes, CD16+CD56+B cells, and CD3-CD19+NK during exacerbation was similar to the remission levels. However, the number of T cell subpopulations was changed, i.e., the number of CD4+ lymphocytes was decreased, and CD8+ cell counts were increased, like as numbers of Treg lymphocytes and NKT cells which showed a significant increase. A 4.3-fold increase in the IL-4 concentration during the RA exacerbation suggested the predominance of Th2 immune response. During remission, the concentrations of IL-6 and IFNγ in synovial fluid were increased, respectively, by 1.5 times and by 2.5 times, which is typical for activated Th1 response.

Background. Early identification of risk factors (RF) associated with cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is essential for the prevention of CVDs and their complications. CVD risk factors can be identified using Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems, which are capable of learning, analyzing and drawing conclusions. The advantage of AI systems consists in their capacity to process large amounts of data over a short period of time and produce ready-made information. Objectives. Evaluation of the efficiency of implementing an AI software application by a general practitioner for identifying CVD risk factors.Methods. The study included data from 1778 electronic medical histories of patients aged over 18, assigned to an outpatient and polyclinic department of Muravlenkovskaya Gorodskaya Bolnitsa (Muravlenko municipal hospital), Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (Russia). The study was conducted in four stages. The first stage involved a preliminary training of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) system under study using numerous CVD risk assessment scales. The Webiomed predictive analytics and risk management software by K-SkAI, Russia, was selected as a platform for this purpose. The second stage included an analysis of medical data to identify CVD risk factors according to the relative risk scale for patients under 40 and the SCORE scale for patients over 40. At the third stage, a specialist analyzed the previous and new information received about each patient. According to the results of the third stage, four risk groups for CVD (low, medium, high and very high) were formed. At the fourth stage, newly diagnosed patients with a high risk of CVD, who had not been previously subject to regular medical check-up, were directed for additional clinical, laboratory and instrumental follow-up examination and consultations of relevant specialists. Statistical data in absolute terms and as a percentage were obtained. Statistical processing of the results was carried out by a computer program aimed at medical decision support. Content visualization was performed in spreadsheets and charts.Results. Based on the data obtained, the AI system under study divided all patients into CVD risk groups and identified uncounted factors. The AI system confirmed a high and very high risk of CVD according to SCORE (Systematic COronary Risk Evaluation) in 623 people, who were already receiving appropriate cardiological assistance. The RFs that had not previously been taken into account in the diagnosis were recorded in 41 (11.5%) patients from the very highrisk group and in 37 (12.7%) high-risk patients. The AI system identified a high risk of CVD in 29 people who had not been previously under care of a general practitioner or other specialists due to their infrequent visits to health care facilities. These patients were detected by the AI system following periodic and preliminary medical check-ups (35%), full in-patient treatment for other diseases (31%), when seeking help of other specialists (17%), as well as when obtaining a medical certificate for a driving license (12%), admission to a swimming pool (3%) or possessing a weapon (2%). In a group with the newly diagnosed patients at a high risk of CVD, men dominated (24 persons, 82%) and women comprised only 8% (5 persons). All these people were of working age between 40 and 50. In order to confirm the information received, the supervising physician subsequently referred patients for a follow-up examination, as a result of which only 1 person (3%) was not diagnosed with a somatic pathology.Conclusion. The efficiency of the AI system under study comprised 97%. Permanent monitoring of all parameters of electronic medical histories and outpatient records is an efficient method for timely identification of RF at any visit of a person to a health care facility (preventive and periodic medical examinations, regular check-ups, specialist consultations, etc.) and their assignment to respective CVD risk groups. Such monitoring ensures an effective medical supervision of able-bodied populations.

Liquid erythrocyte diagnostic preparations have a practical disadvantage; i.e., long-distance transportation involving possible non-compliance with cold-chain requirements may result in a complete loss of biological activity. A lyophilisation technology is necessary to ensure that the preparations retain their original properties for a long time. The aim of the work was to develop a protective medium and conditions for lyophilisation to stabilise the erythrocyte diagnostic preparation of tularaemia immunoglobulin. Materials and methods: Gelatin, thiourea, trehalose, sucrose, dextran, and Tween 80 were used as excipients for protective media. The authors used nine strains of homologous and heterologous microorganisms of different genera and species to control the lyophilised diagnostic preparation sensitivity and specificity. Evaluation of the main stability-related quality attributes (appearance of the dried preparation, loss on drying, solubility, appearance after reconstitution, appearance after settling, sensitivity, specificity) considered the temperatures specific to the climatic zones where the in vitro diagnostics is intended to be marketed and used. Results: The authors developed protective stabilising media with different compositions, used them in freeze-drying of the preparation and carried out control testing. The most promising was the lyophilisation medium containing a smaller amount of ingredients —6% of dextran, 0.06% of Tween 80 and up to 0.01% of sodium azide—as it was the simplest one to prepare and ensured complete preservation of the quality attributes. The authors carried out practical evaluation of lyophilisation procedures, and the 12–14-hour procedure proved to be the most cost-effective. Conclusions: The results of long-term, or real time, and accelerated stability testing of the lyophilised diagnostic preparation demonstrated the possibility of two-year storage at a labelled temperature of 2–8 °C, as well as at elevated and low temperatures of 30±2 °С and –18 °С, respectively. The tests showed no negative effects of the temperatures on the controlled quality attributes.

This article focuses on a theoretical study into the dependence of the quantum yield of the donor phosphorescence isolated donor-acceptor pairs on the excitation power. An increase in the quantum yield of phosphorescence was detected as accompanied with an increase in the excitation power. The authors dwell on the reasons behind such an effect.

There is a view on the specters and kinetics of acenaphthene phosphorescence in glass-like toluene under 77 к for solution concentrations ranging from 10-3 М. As for the concentrations above 5×10-2 М there has been detected a long wave shift in the specter, which can not be explained through directed migration of triplet excitation. Certain reasons for the effect have been discussed.

Background. According to the currently existing hypothesis, epicutaneous sensitization is one of the leading mechanisms in the development of food allergy.The aim of this review was to analyze immune mechanisms in epicutaneous sensitization and the role of skin barrier impairment.We performed a literature search using PubMed, UpToDate, Web of Science, and Scopus databases by the key words: epicutaneous sensitization, atopic dermatitis, skin barrier impairment, food allergy. Articles were to be in open access and present the most relevant information on the topic. Studies were selected by the largest sample size and the highest citation index. Once publications were identified, they were reviewed by all the authors to select the studies that specifically addressed the theme of the review. A total of 101 publications from 1998–2000 were included in the study.This review article discusses the data of experimental studies, sets out modern ideas about the hypothesis of a double exposure to an allergen, and presents research data proving the clinical significance of epicutaneous sensitization in relation to food allergy. Knowledge about the mechanisms of epicutaneous sensitization development is necessary to elaborate strategies for prevention of food allergy. One of the modern trends in prevention is the use of emollients, which are supposed to restore the skin response. However, studies on preventive intake of emollients do not present a similar viewpoint.There is not enough evidence for or against the mechanism of epicutaneous sensitization as an indispensable condition for the formation of food allergies. Further research in this area is required.

Tularemia is a zoonotic disease with a wide geographical dissemination, and its causative agent Francisella tularensis can be used as a bioterrorism agent. The aim of the study was to evaluate the use of a set of reagents “Erythrocytic immunoglobulin dry tularemia diagnosticum” (“DET-Ig”) with the help of control test strains and field material from natural tularemia foci. Materials and methods. Using the introduced erythrocyte diagnosticum, we studied the decontaminated cultures of test strains (F. tularensis Miura, F. tularensis 55, F. tularensis Schu, F. tularensis 15 NIIEG, Brucella abortus 544, B. melitensis 16-M, B. suis 1330, and Yersinia enterocolitica 64, Y. enterocolitica 178, Y. enterocolitica 383) and environmental samples suspected of containing F. tularensis. Results and discussion. It has been proven that the developed diagnosticum is specific, sensitive, and easy to use for routine diagnostics of tularemia. In the course of laboratory tests of the experimental series of the DET-Ig reagent kit, the possibility of qualitative determination of the tularemia agent in bacterial cultures, biological material and environmental samples in the reaction of indirect hemagglutination was demonstrated. Comparison of the results of use of erythrocyte diagnosticum in liquid and lyophilized forms showed the advantages of drugs after lyophilization: the possibility of transportation and long-term storage at any temperature conditions in various climatic conditions; the setting of the reaction is possible without the use of special diluents. The guaranteed storage term is set for two years (observation period). The results obtained indicate the prospects of introducing the developed drug into healthcare practice.

Well-recognized tactic for the management of formula-fed children with cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA) is exclusion of whole cow milk protein and its replacement with extensively hydrolyzed or amino acid formula. One of the most topical issue is the choice of therapeutic formula for a child with CMPA. This article presents information about the clinical manifestations of CMPA and describes the principles of nutrition therapy. All the stages of preparation of adapted therapeutic formula are discussed in detail. It has been shown that the choice of therapeutic formula for a child with CMPA depends on the disease clinical manifestations, their severity, and the presence of comorbid conditions. Current requirements for extensively hydrolyzed formula are reduced to limitations in the size of peptides with immunoreactive properties and indicate the need for evidence of the clinical efficacy of such formula in double-blind placebo-controlled studies.

Introduction. The article considers biological resources of the Arctic, which is expedient to use in the production of fish meal for feeding farm animals. The aim of the research is to prove the usefulness of a continuously operating two-chamber line for sublimation drying of fish products using natural freezing of fish catch and a cheap source of thermal energy for drying: ethane, propane, butane (waste when cleaning natural gas and petroleum products of local enterprises), as well as microwave energy. Materials and Methods. A continuously operating two-chamber sublimation line is proposed, the chambers of which work alternately: one for the process of sublimation drying, and the other for loading and unloading processed products. The natural freezing of fish and thermal energy for the process of sublimation (drying) from the burning of waste gas are used whenever possible. When there is cheap electricity, it is advisable to use microwave energy for drying that makes it possible to shorten the drying cycle, ensure uniformity and simultaneity of drying the material up to 3–5% humidity without rearranging the trays along the height of the cart. Results. We propose the construction of a two-chamber sublimation line for large lump products and a sublimation unit based on microwave energy, which allows regulating the sublimation drying temperature within specified limits. Discussion and Conclusion. The presented design solutions of a large lump product sublimation drying line and sublimation unit using microwave energy are necessary for designing equipment based on digital technology.

The true prevalence of pollinosis in general and of weed susceptibility to pollen in particular (mainly wormwood and ragweed) in Russia and worldwide has not been studied enough. The ragweed is a quarantine weed, which is a native species in Russia. Wormwood is a large genus of herbaceous plants, in Russia the most common bitter and common wormwood. The aim of the study was to study the level of sensitization to ragweed pollen and wormwood in Samara region for 5 years. In the city of Samara revealed the growth of sensitization to ragweed pollen and wormwood from 2012 to 2017, which is consistent with the data on the leading role of ragweed pollen and wormwood as a risk factor for the development of pollinose in the region. Taking into account the data on ragweed distribution in the region is three separate, to avoid cross-reactions between allergens of different types of ragweed and wormwood, and to identify the truth of sensitization in these patients should be conducted component allergy diagnostics.

This work presents new data on human endonuclease VIII-like 2 protein (hNEIL2), a part of DNA glycosylases of the helix–two-turn–helix structural superfamily. While X-ray structure of oNEIL2 (opossum Monodelphis) was resolved partially [1], the structure of hNEIL2 has not yet been determined. This data article describes a powerful combination of hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry, homology modeling, and molecular dynamics simulations for protein conformational dynamics analysis.The data supplied in this work are related to the research article entitled “Dynamics and Conformational Changes in Human NEIL2 DNA Glycosylase Analyzed by Hydrogen/Deuterium Exchange Mass Spectrometry”.

Abstract Objective F-spondin is part of a group of evolutionarily conserved extracellular matrix proteins in vertebrates. It is highly expressed in the embryonic floor plate, and it can bind to the ECM and promote neuronal outgrowth. A characterization of F-spondin expression patterns in the adult zebrafish brain was previously reported by our group. However, given its importance during development, we aimed to obtain a detailed description of green fluorescent protein (GFP) expression driven by the spon1b promotor, in the developing zebrafish brain of the transgenic Tg(spon1b:GFP) line, using light sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM). Results Images obtained in live embryos from 22 to 96 h post fertilization confirmed our earlier reports on the presence of spon1b:GFP expressing cells in the telencephalon and diencephalon (olfactory bulbs, habenula, optic tectum, nuclei of the medial longitudinal fasciculus), and revealed new spon1b:GFP populations in the pituitary anlage, dorso-rostral cluster, and ventro-rostral cluster. LSFM made it possible to follow the dynamics of cellular migration patterns during development. Conclusions spon1b:GFP larval expression patterns starts in early development in specific neuronal structures of the developing brain associated with sensory-motor modulation. LSFM evaluation of the transgenic Tg(spon1b:GFP) line provides an effective approach to characterize GFP expression patterns in vivo.

The aim of the research is to justify in the non-linear statement the overlay principle of fraction creep deformation, known in the linear creep theory as Bolzmann’s principle of superposition. Methods. In contrast to the traditional approach the material of constructive elements is considered as an union of its links with statistical disturbed strength. The model of structural strength allows the deduction of rheological equations. In loading process so called structural stresses of capable to resist links are considered. Results. The modification Bolzmann’s principle of superposition for fraction creep deformations is proposed. This permits its applicability also under non-linearly dependence of deformations on stresses. In according to concept of the statistical distribution of the strengths of links and linear dependence of determinations on structural stresses the rheological of mechanical statement is reduced. This equation implies the suitable on relation problems the linear integral equation. The relation of structural strength of material with its energy of entirety and with the experimentally known independency of specific to strength deformation on age of concrete is showed. The correct interpretations of certain known mechanical state equations for concrete are represented.

The results of a large number of studies indicate the relationship of obesity and bronchial asthma in children. The review highlights the mechanisms of development of the so-called obese asthma: morphological changes in the respiratory tract, systemic inflammation, adipokine production, impaired glucose and insulin metabolism, genetic and epigenetic factors, changes in the microbiome of the respiratory tract and(or) intestines. The relationship of asthma and obesity can have both a genetic basis and can occur under the influence of a complex of pathogenic factors, and they can be especially important at the “early programming” stage. Obesity increases the risk of asthma development, and in patients with existing asthma due to a number of mechanisms it increases the severity or makes it difficult to achieve control of asthma. Studies showed that patients with obese asthma are distinguished by a more severe course of the disease, poor quality of life and a decreased response to therapy for asthma. Weight loss in children with asthma can lead to an improved well-being of patients, but data on the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions in these children is limited. Comorbidity of asthma and obesity is a complex multifactorial phenotype in children, which requires further study. Being overweight or obese needs to be taken into account as part of asthma treatment in this category of patients.

Introduction. The article substantiates the need for high-temperature processing of feed ingredients. Principles of operation and design features of the applied methods and equipment for feed production are considered. Phase transitions, along with advantages and energy, technological, and technical drawbacks are highlighted. The aim of the study is to justify a possibility of creating high-efficiency production lines using heat treatment of feeds by application of heat valves ensuring continuous loading of raw materials into a reactor and discharge of the treated feed at high pressures and temperatures. Materials and Methods. It is proposed to transfer the process of barothermal processing to a higher zone of the phase diagram of the system p,t (pressure and temperature). This is a section of the superheated steam zone with temperature 300–374 °C, pressure 12–21 MPa and treatment exposure 30–60 seconds, which replaces costly processes of normalizing, expansion, extrusion and granulation. The change in enthalpy in the pressure range 0–21 MPa and temperature range 0–600 °C is shown. Thermal modes are presented as formulas which is the basic condition for the use of digital technologies. Results. The design of the reactor with a thermal gate for loading and unloading, being the main unit of the production line of the feed heat treatment, was proposed. The results of the study are fundamental for the development of the sample flow low-capacity line. Discussion and Conclusion. The transfer of the process of barothermic processing of feed into the zone of superheated steam allows for the transfer of poorly digestible elements of grain and legumes in easily digestible, pathogen-free feed. Advantages of the reactor and line include the user-friendly design, energy saving and possibility of implementation of advanced digital technologies.

Розглянуто односторонні процеси із моделями у формі варіаційних нерівностей. Односторонні властивості процесів задаються у вигляді негладких функціоналів, які входять у модель та породжують багатозначні функції відповідності. Для задач цих типів виконано наближене розв'язання за допомогою розвитку методу функціональної параметризації.

The article is devoted to results of applying computer-based system of verification of graduation qualification theses at Tver State University for the detection of plagiarism. We used a system «Antiplagiat.VUZ» as software. Statistical analysis of data was conducted for all directions of training in the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 academic years. Features of the application of such systems were studied.

Abstract. At present time, the main therapeutic goal in bronchial asthma treatment is to achieve complete control of the disease. Appropriate medical evaluation involves a complex system of clinical criteria and functional parameters obtained by instrumental and laboratory techniques. Wide application of inhalatory glucocorticosteroids (IGCS) in childhood bronchial asthma treatment, requirements for a long-term therapy, and common IGCS dose-escalation regimens determine an importance of searching novel objective criteria to predict efficiency of the therapy preformed. In present work, we propose a method aimed to identify glucocorticosteroid-resistant lymphocytes in peripheral blood of the patients with bronchial asthma undergoing IGCS therapy. The results of this study have shown that clinical efficiency of such treatment of bronchial asthma patients, independently on the IGCS dosage, may be evaluated by the degree of steroid-induced suppression of in vitro lymphocyte proliferation caused by a domestic dust antigen. The data obtained may be used in clinical settings to predict efficiency of IGCS therapy and adjust treatment regimens in bronchial asthma patients. (Med. Immunol., 2011, vol. 13, N 2-3, pp 157-166)

The research is dedicated to the study of characteristics of health of children, whose relatives of 1st and 2nd lines suffered thrombosis of vessels of different caliber and localizations before the age of 50. We examined 28 children of 13,5 ± 4,9 years. The results showed that 43 % of children suffered hypoxia in utero caused by chronic fetoplacental insufficiency. Up to 64 % of children have abnormalities in the state of their health, causing the risk of thrombosis in the future: hypertension, obesity, cardiac valve disease. 7 children have already suffered thrombosis in vessels of different caliber and localization by the moment of the study. The combination of inherited genes was correlated with the development of thrombosis in children (r = 0,24, p = 0,05).

The results of studies of anthropogenic tolerance of corvids were performed in Zhytomyr from September 2009 to August 2012. We have chosen the Rook (Corvus frugilegus L.), Western Jackdaw (Corvus monedula L.), and Hooded Crow (Corvus cornix L.) as model species. The take-off was basic locomotory reaction of bird species towards human disturbance. The back track or jamp-off from human trajectory were observed for 22.9% of Hooded Crows, 26.8% of Western Jackdaws, and 29.7% of Rooks. We registered that the average flight initiation distance and back track distance were not significant (p>0.05) for Rooks (p = 0.72, Mann-Whitney U = 16882), Hooded Crows (p = 0.90, U = 2521.5) and Western Jackdaws (p = 0.57; U = 21). We tested that flight initiation distance of Rooks varied from 0.5 to 21.5 m, Western Jackdaws – from 0.8 to 19 m, Hooded Crows – from 0.5 to 16.3 m. We suggested that degree of bird tolerance to anthropogenic disturbance in urban habitats depends on the intensity of anthropogenic pressure. We found the inverse correlation between flight initiation distance and degree of anthropogenic transformation of the landscape. The main factors which determine the flight initiation distance, were the type of habitat (the most significant factor), the number of birds in the group, direction and parameters of human impact, and year season.
