1. Molecular imprinted polymer based sensor for recognition and determination of profenofos organophosphorous insecticide

Abstract

A selective and sensitive electrochemical sensor for recognition of profenofos (PFF) was fabricated based on the drop coating of synthesized molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP) and graphene oxide (GO) on the surface of glassy carbon (GCE). The imprinted layer was systematically characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Electro chemical studies were conducted with cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) through a “gate-controlled” effect using [Fe (CN)6] 3-/4- as a probe. Under optimal condition, the modified GCE exhibited linear calibration curve for PFF over a concentration range from 5 × 10−8 to 35 × 10−4 M with a detection limit of 5 nM. The proposed procedure has many advantages such as; high precision, long-term stability and enhanced sensitivity towards PFF compared other pesticide family members. As an application, the proposed sensor has been applied for determination of PFF in real vegetables and spiked water samples with satisfactory results.

Abstract

The electrochemical behavior of rivaroxaban (RIV), a direct Factor Xa inhibitor, was investigated using a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) based on molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP). The MIP was developed by co-polymerization of different monomers (acrylamide and methacrylic acid) with the cross-linker (ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA)) in the presence of initiator (potassium persulphate) and RIV as a template. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), atomic force microscopy (AFM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used for the characterization of the fabricated polymers. To prepare the potentiometric sensor, the MIP was incorporated in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in the presence of a plasticizer and coated on the GCE as one layer. While the voltammetric sensor was prepared by drop coating technique, in which the graphene oxide and MIP were deposited on the bare GCE, respectively. Abstract

This paper presents 3D shape modeling using surface parameterization by spherical harmonics and the combination of superquadric and spherical harmonics . Although, the results obtained with the two representation schemes are comparable, we opt for the spherical harmonics model. Our approach is divided into two parts. The first consists in extracting set of 3D points which corresponds to epicardium and endocardium wall respectively. For this purpose, we have segmented the original SPECT myocardium data. The second part consists in fitting the surface on this set of unstructured 3D points using the both methods: a parametric surface description using (SH) and a combination of two models (SQ-SH).

Abstract

In this paper, we define the relationship between the location and the degree of the stenosis in coronary arteries and the observed perfusion on the myocardiac scintigraphy. This allows us to model the impact evolution of these stenoses in order to justify a coronarography or to avoid it for patients suspected being in the gray zone. Our approach is decomposed in two steps. The first step consists in modelling a coronary artery bed and stenoses of different location and degree. The second step consists in evaluating the badly perfused volume using only myocardial scintigraphic data.
