—The paper considers present-day rock temperature distribution in the top of the Tyumen and Malyshevka Formations throughout the West Siberian sedimentary basin. A temperature variations map based on earlier and newly obtained data has been compiled for regional hydrocarbon reservoir Yu2. A forecast of the temperature variations in the Malyshevka Formation top has been made for the Arctic regions that have not been well studied with deep drilling. Analysis of hydrocarbon pools distribution within the Bathonian reservoir is presented.

Summary The seismogeological characteristics of the Paleozoic, Triassic, Jurassic and Neocomian formations are presented. On the basis of 3D seismic survey in the section of each complex, promising hydrocarbon traps are identified for conducting search and evaluation work

Summary Thus, based on the analysis of 3D seismic materials, it can be said that, along with biogenic naphthydogenesis, fluid-dynamic processes widely participated in the formation of hydrocarbon deposits within the studied territory.

Summary The paper presents analysis of geo-temperature, hydrodynamic and hydrogeochemical data in comparison with the complex results of geological, geophysical, paleontological, geochemical and other studies in assessment of the petroleum potential of Mesozoic sediments in the Karabash zone. The results obtained indicate a low efficiency of the traditional hydrogeological criteria application for the zone under consideration, due to the unevenness of the deposits study, small ranges of changes in hydrogeological indicators and the use of many different criteria. Under these conditions, the task of developing methods for a comprehensive analysis of all hydrogeological data becomes urgent.

The article describes the recent distribution of temperatures of rocks in the roof of Tyumen and Malyshev suites for the whole territory of the West Siberian sedimentary basin. A map of temperature changes in the regional oil and gas bearing horizon U2 was built. The prognosis of the temperatures distribution in the roof of Malyshev suite on the understudied by deep drilling in Arctic areas is made. The analysis of placement of the deposits in the Bath with different phase state of the hydrocarbons is presented.

Summary A comparative analysis of the hydrogeochemical tests data obtained in the process of prospecting and exploration and at the stage of industrial exploitation of groundwater is carried out. The analysis indicates the closeness of the variations in the total mineralization and the content of water-dissolved components in these data groups, both within the oil and gas regions, and on individual local structural elements. The heterogeneity of the groundwater chemical composition is confirmed even in relatively small well drainage zones operating under slight change conditions. The conclusion is substantiated that the spatial variability of the hydrogeochemical appearance of groundwater in the Apt-Alb-Cenomanian complex is determined mainly by natural processes, moreover, actively occurring at the present stage of the basin development.

Summary The paper presents a method and software for three-dimensional modeling of the groundwater chemical composition, constructing cross-sections and maps of groundwater chemical parameters detailed up to individual aquifers with functionality for assessing the results’ reliability. The developed software module provides efficient processing of large volumes of hydrogeochemical information and automated calculations for a complex of groundwater components.

The discussed spline approximation in spatial data modeling for geosciences implies formulation of the variational problem in terms of functional minimization and allows simultaneous inversion for several surfaces. This modeling employs the following basic elements: stabilizers to define the common properties of unknown surfaces; differential operators to describe the unknown surfaces and their relation with the known fields; data specified locally at test points; partial differential equations similar to equations of mathematical physics for the properties of the surfaces of interest; elements of regression analysis, with the regression coefficients being calculated while solving the principal modeling problem; arbitrary amounts of direct or indirect information which is incorporated additionally into the functional on the basis of approximate conditions using weight coefficients as control parameters. The suggested generalized formulation includes the concepts of global and local equations, and strict and nonstrict relationships. This formulation, realized in the GST software, may apply to many surface modeling problems to be solved using second-order partial differential equations, with multiple criteria optimization of results and with the use of different auxiliary datasets.

Division of sedimentary strata according to groundwater chemistry is discussed with implications for petroleum reservoir potential. It is suggested to process multiparametric water chemistry data from West Siberia using formalized clustering techniques. The efficiency of this approach has been tested for Neocomian clinoform reservoirs with reference to regional-scale appraisal and subregional petroleum division.

Considered features of exploration and commercial development of the West Siberian basin. Substantiates increasing relevance of the development and implementation of methods for analyzing chemistry data in conjunction with detailed data on the structure and properties of the deposits, which include the widest possible range of geological data - geophysical, geodynamic, geochemical, lithological and many others. The results indicate the reliability of the developed methods of analysis data on multi-scale research facilities, providing highly detailed and effective construction of the solution of theoretical and applied problems of hydrogeology in Western Siberia
