The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) approved its Guidelines for Professional Library and Information Science (LIS) Education Programs in April 2022 (Chu et al., 2022). These Guidelines establish both the Fundamental Knowledge Areas (FKA) and the elements that should make up, from a global perspective, the library staff training program. As stated in the document, one of its possible uses is to serve as a basis and impulse for the development of new training programs, as well as for the review and adaptation of existing ones. Therefore, they are of interest to academic staff, but also to students and organizations and entities involved with the quality of LIS training. In this communication, a reading of the eight FKA is made from the perspective of the commitment that school libraries assume with their community, the work they carry out and their development possibilities: FKA 1. Information in Society. FKA 2. Foundations of the LIS profession. FKA 3. Information and Communication Technologies. FKA 4. Research and Innovation. FKA 5. Information Resources Management. FKA 6. Management for Information Professionals. FKA 7. Information Needs and User Services. FKA 8. Literacies and Learning. Thus the FKA serve as a guide and encouragement to deepen both the central role that the school library should play, as well as the essential initial and ongoing training of those responsible for managing and animating them.

AA. Library and information science as a field. - Abstract
Librarians are among the key actors in the process of cultivating and implementing the principles of open science in higher education. Their professional contribution goes beyond information management and generates a core set of values - access, preservation, and ethics - that the scientific community translates into their work. The activities of librarians involve responsibility for building potential in the field of open access, preserving research data, academic integrity, and creating open educational resources for educators, students, researchers, and government officials. Therefore, the preparation of librarians with a deep understanding of open science practices has strategic significance for the development of the country's scientific research sphere.

This communication deals with the university library of arts and its relationship with cultural sustainability. I will deal with a bibliographic collection belonging to the Museum of Contemporary Art MAC USP and how informational resources can be participants in the process of building cultural sustainability. The work deals with the donation of Walter Zanini's private library and its role as an informational resource insofar as it is willing to be a public resource for research. Secondly, the text also proposes the question of inserting a new bibliographic collection in a public and university space. The third question seeks to understand in which situation this resource can be the new potential for the transformation of this university and cultural institution into a reference center for research in the field of the arts. The fourth issue is that the new collection can be the link and connection in the interrelationship of sustainable development, combining socio-economic as well as organizational aspects in a process of building cultural sustainability. Fifth, there is the question of the collection as a participant in the cycle that includes the three main actions of heritage: collect, preserve and research, in a planning of actions aimed at making the bibliographic collection available. Access to the bibliographic collection will be the central action in the search for the construction of a conscious space for research focusing on the various subjects of the donated collection.

In this research, the task of demonstrating that the library (as an institution) and the librarian (as a professional) are facilitating agents of democratic processes, which must be directed towards achieving the autonomy of citizenship, thanks to social circulation, was undertaken. of the information. In Chapter 1, discusses the way in which Mexican democracy —founded on a constitutional rule of law— faces the challenge of guaranteeing access to information in a transparent manner, by supporting activities in the matter to increase citizen participation. In Chapter 2, the mechanisms through which the right to information is constituted as an essential element that allows generating conditions of equality in multicultural environments immersed in a globalized regime were specified. This right must advance according to the development of the informational society, especially in its relationship with the myriad of digital technologies, on which it is materially supported. Informational self-determination is not limited solely to official decision-making processes, but also contemplates the strengthening of the conditions of social justice. As a corollary, in Chapter 3 the routes, paths and challenges that a documentary information professional must undertake so that they can materialize their social dedications, under the protection of the right to information, as a fundamental human right and as a constitutional prerogative, were specified. The task that librarians and archivists have before them is of the utmost importance for the procurement and defense of the right to information. As part of their mission, they must recognize that information needs are legitimate basic needs, in addition to mitigating injustices and information asymmetries, for which they will have to devise inclusion strategies (both in the space of flows and in the space of places).

The Colloquia were held from September 13 to 15, 2022. This year, the biggest challenge for Brazilians was to rescue democracy, which would restore dignity, recognize citizenship, reduce inequalities and guarantee social well-being. It is a practical task to which critical thinking can contribute a lot. The central theme of the Colloquia was “Solidarity, public policies and democracy”. The Covid-19 pandemic and the global health emergency situation proclaimed by the World Health Organization since the beginning of 2020 have aggravated and exacerbated chronic problems of unemployment, extreme poverty and hunger, while at the same time bringing enormous pressure on health systems. . The school system suffered a strong setback, with the suspension of classes as a strategy to prevent the incidence of cases. All of this took on the appearance of a tragedy because it happened when the Brazilian government was in the hands of the extreme right. The execution of its neoliberal agenda attacked and reduced the social security system, with disregard for human and social rights. The pandemic found the health system in full dismantling of its primary care network. The end of the Mais Médicos program was just a visible part of this process. What happened to the Brazilian school system from the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic was terrible. Millions of children and adolescents were left without face-to-face classes, and most of them did not have effective conditions to seek distance learning. Education implies socialization and two years of reduced interactions certainly have strong consequences for learning and sociocultural development.

This article presents the advances of the macro stage of the ongoing Curricular Innovation Project of the undergraduate programs of the Escuela Interamericana de Bibliotecologíaat the Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia. This project aims to build a curricular proposal that articulates in differ-ent dimensions, epistemological-theoretical, pedagogical, didactic, curricular, and administrative, the undergraduate programs in Archiving and Library Science, based on the par-ticipation of its key actors, the analysis of the context, and the institutional stamp. Methodologically, tension analysis was used, seeking to make a critical, situated, and histori-cal reading of the theoretical, epistemological, and trend approaches, in order to maintain a balance between labor and social requirements with respect to vocations and in-stitutional traditions. The advances are presented in terms of statements that guide the conception and institutional curricular action, and account for four central issues: the agreements of the articulating and specific objects of study, the identification and analysis of contemporary trends, the definition of graduation profiles, and the configuration of the pedagogical horizon. In the end, some recommendations are put forward to continue encouraging the journey, which can be synthesized into three issues: achieving articulation with the meso and micro curricular stages, advancing in the consolidation of the methodological memory of the project, and proposing administrative alternatives to face curricular innovation processes

The mastery of reading and understanding scientific texts, research techniques and systematization for the production of new knowledge must be aspects inherent to graduates of higher education. These graduates are starting out in the world of scientific research, acquiring experience and wisdom. The work arises from an impossibility of being approved in the presentation of a thesis project. The intention of the work is to analyze various paradigm positions, based on the thought of Thomas Kuhn. We will address both the contexts of justification and discovery, focusing on the different disciplines that are related to Information Science. The 20th century has been a prolific century in the approach to scientificity in various disciplinary fields, giving rise to a growing demand to question various branches of knowledge, especially in the Social and Human Sciences. Our proposal is to present paradigms and philosophical foundations that can support library and information science.

The work presents the results of the first stage of the research on the insertion of competence in Information in the curricula of two courses of Library Science in Brazil and Mexico. Therefore, it is adopted as a methodological approach to exploratory research of a bibliographic nature. The empirical material examined was the curricular flows, the elements and, in some cases, the programmatic contents of the disciplines of two Library Science courses and similar ones existing in Brazil and Mexico. Collect and analyze two due dice by means of the content analysis of the items and discipline programs. The results reveal that Competência em Informação is more and more present in the format of disciplines in the curricula of two courses of Library Science in Brazil and Mexico, well as contained as a programmatic content of some discipline of the curriculum. Furthermore, the analysis reveals that the curricula do not have a standardization of the use of the term "competence in Information" in both countries. I conclude that competence in Information is a content that is presented in both a disciplinary and transversal way in some curricula, but that still no two curricula are found in most of Brazil, differently from Mexico.

Student mobility carried out through international internships is, in the academic context, an opportunity to strengthen disciplinary knowledge, explore a particular territory and learn about cultural diversity. These formative experiences, considered through an intercultural analytical framework, are an opportunity to think about strengthening work networks and global citizenship. The Escuela Interamericana de Bibliotecología, after 65 years of existence and an inter-American character, has been a pioneer in mobility processes in its discipline; It has received professionals and students from different latitudes. This reflective article recovers the experience and gains that some of the international internships that the School has hosted have meant in recent years, which have allowed it to position itself in tune with its inter-American identity, as well as strengthen work networks in the region.

Exam records are sensitive pieces of data that tell a story of the academic life of an individual while in the University. The study investigates how digital exam records are being preserved for long-term accessibility and use in the Federal University Lokoja. Qualitative research methodology, a case study design alongside a structured interview guide was used to examine the strategies in place to manage and preserve digital exams record for long-term accessibility and utilization. Findings of the study revealed that currently, the SQL backups and hard drives were the present means of storing exam records for long-term preservation. A major gap in the preservation of records at the Federal University Lokoja was the lack of a preservation policy thereof The study, therefore, recommended that a preservation policy be implemented capturing the long-term preservation of records at the University alongside other recommendations.

The objective was to trace the profile of the participants in the Library Economy courses in Brazil, prioritizing the following variables: geographical region, race, sex, age group, modality of teaching, interruption of the course, type of institution of secondary education (public or private school) and linkage in graduation. The profile was traced from the Microdata of the Census of Higher Education, published in 2020 by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira. Students enrolled in the library economics courses offered by public and private higher education institutions were considered in the period 2015 to 2019 – the last year covered by the census. The main results pointed out that the board of enrollers in the Library Economy courses of Brazil is composed mostly of white, female, between the ages of 20 and 29. These students have completed their secondary education in public schools. In terms of color, there are variations between geographical regions. The rate of interruption of the course is higher among students of the white and indigenous colours and in the EaD mode. Women enrolled in the EaD have a higher percentage of interruption of the course. In the presencial mode, men are more likely to interrupt their studies. The public institutions of higher education gather a good part of these members, with the preponderance of teaching in the presencial mode

This paper deals with Mario Zanini's art library, donated to the MAC USP in 1971,, and intends to deal with the formation of this artist's library between the 1930s. and 1970. The hypothesis proposes that the library was directly correlated with the art work produced, with a clipping of influences from its books. We realize from the books and the artist's performance that the library stands as an engine that leads him to think, and that shows us that his artistic production has different values from that previously produced by brazilian modernist artists of the 1920s. This library makes possible a path that expresses a new poetics in the scenario of an urbanization that was taking place in the landscape environment of the city. In the context of the Brazilian Library Congress 2019, with regard to issues such as democracy and diminishing inequality, libraries can be an informational locus of extroversion of these collections, in the promotion of the documentary artistic heritage, which we understand to be the primordial step for the implementation of action policies that can deal with art documents, the history of art and the history of São Paulo modernity itself, so that they can be known and available to any reader, any citizen.

There is currently an obvious concern about the dilemmas, perplexities and fatigue of ethics, which are predominantly assumed in the field of philosophical research, and from there to other disciplines. This text proposes to raise an ethical proposal of an ontocentric and hermeneutic (macroethical) cut, and the purpose is to apply it to Library Science. This proposal would not only serve to give a turn to the construction of deontological codes of professional library associations but also to explore the values and principles that support them, which implies inquiring into the librarian's personal socio-framework (mission, evolution, self-understanding). The proposal will be in line with Luciano Floridi's philosophy of information and various theorists from other latitudes, since it is a plural and integrative discourse. Human beings do not discover or invent the world, we just design it. We understand it only to the extent that we understand their models and their representations. This is a symptom that occurs in deontological ethics: we try to enclose moral actions in ethical models and systems. Philosophy of information represents a new way of conceiving the world of information and, therefore, its ethical dimension.

In these works we see Habermas in discussions with other authors of Philosophy and Sociology. We come across questions, we see answers. We perceive problems, try solutions; all based on the work of teams in libraries. There is the question of truth in the selection of libraries and lies discovered in works in which the power of selection is incapable of acting through complex institutional determinations; there is the issue of discursive and cooperative construction of norms, a tradition of librarianship, both for digital repositories and for Digital Libraries; there is the issue of discourse ethics in all informational work, and finally, communicative competence as one of the skills for the effective librarian.

The research on discursive administration gathered in the collection that the reader has in hand develops against this background in which stands out the emergence of a society of communication and information in response to disruptions and technological impacts. They start from the observation that current models of management based exclusively on the systemic model can no longer cover the demands of training and information. This is because the communication and participation between managers and teams, between the libraries and their members is incipient. It is interesting to note that the texts are not confined to describing or regretting the new scenarios; instead, they concentrate on formulating interesting proposals to address the new challenges that arise in the area of administration in general and libraries in particular. They result from the conviction that in the disruptive threats that accompany the present era of transformations are embedded new opportunities to be harnessed by creating a communicative and discursive, innovative and open environment.

The evolution of recent years in the profession has shown that our capacities and competences require a radical adaptation for insertion in the transition from industrial society to the information and knowledge society. This poses, from our point of view, a greater number of opportunities than threats; We hold this position based on the idea of promoting and re-categorizing the profession by incorporating new technologies, within a framework of transdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity. The role that we must assume is undoubtedly a leading one in which, through our professional expertise, we provide work teams with robustness in the search and information retrieval processes, but at the same time, we share with the users around us In this new paradigm, the same needs for that information and the interest to produce with those results, the transformation into knowledge of it. Taking as a premise that digital information is ubiquitous, we propose that he and the librarian be so in turn, or at least as some have already come to call, homeless librarians. It is in this sense, that transcending the physical limits of libraries and through the application of tools typical of library science, now ordered within a structured, iterative and sustained over time system such as Surveillance and Strategic Intelligence, some INTI information professionals are promoting this new integration model.

The conceptual structure of the journal El Profesional de la Información (EPI) is analyzed in 2013-2018, through the evaluation of the publications corresponding to this period with the science map software SciMAT. The scientific maps developed with SciMAT allow to visualize in a clear way the structure of a journal, delimiting the areas of research and time, capturing its conceptual and cognitive structure. As a result we obtain a set of groups of keywords and their interconnections, called themes, which are classified into four categories: Motor, peripheral, emerging or declining and basic or transversal topics. The main topics of the EPI journal in 2013-2018 are shown, grouped by the indicated categories, as well as their interconnections.

Within the scope of the organization and representation of information, the conceptual models of the bibliographic universe are theoretical positions in the sense of directing the gaze of the cataloguer to the object to be described, with a view to the elaboration of bibliographic records and their functionality in catalogs using uniformity, despite cultural and linguistic differences, types of content and formats of their informational supports. Much has been discussed about the theoretical models of bibliographic information, a perspective that combines historically practical aspects with the theory and epistemology of cataloging. It was in this context of theoretical cataloging needs that IFLA proposed the conceptual models FRBR, FRAD and FRSAD, which undoubtedly impacted the guidelines, codes and standards used in bibliographic description, such as the RDA. As a result of the models having been elaborated by different groups, with different perspectives for some concepts, a unified model of the bibliographic universe was proposed, the Library Reference Model (LRM). Thus, the purpose of this research is to discuss the conceptual models of IFLA and their influence on RDA, in particular to discuss the initial conceptual models and the future dimension, with the LRM proposal, and the redesign of RDA with Project RDA 3R. The research is justified in order to bring up discussions proposed by the professional universe, the involvement of IFLA, and its adherence to the theoretical-conceptual aspects debated academically.

Identifying entities has been one of the concerns of libraries since ancient times. As the volume of data has increased considerably and the online environment has turned into a huge information world, identifiers have become key elements in the correct and clear location of digital objects and their interconnection. We note, thus, that libraries are becoming increasingly interested in the use of interrelated data (Linked Data), aimed at creating links for navigation between data sets from diferent sources. Identifying institutions and resource creators has become a necessity, and setting standards in this regard has been quickly embraced by the GLAMA sector (art galleries, libraries, archives, museums, academic institutions ). Thus, the most used identifiers are briefly presented at an international level, in the information sector (ISIL, ISNI, ISBN, ISSN, DOI, Handle), to highlight their role in improving access to data and streamlining their interconnection in a standardized and persistent way.

Objective and method: The complete and detailed reporting of the search process in systematic reviews is vital for their reproducibility and to evaluate the rigor and reliability of the results. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the transparency and reproducibility of search strategies in systematic reviews published in spanish Library and Information Science journals. For this purpose, the databases Web of Science and Scopus were searched for articles published in these journals identified as systematic or systematized literature reviews. Thirty-five reviews were finally selected and the presence of elements related to the search for information recommended in the PRISMA-S guide was evaluated: complete search strategy, keywords and search terms, time period searched, number of studies retrieved, names of databases searched and limits or filters applied. Results and conclusions: There is a very deficient reporting of the elements related to the search for information. The majority of the reviews do not provide a complete search strategy and 25% do not provide keywords either, with the name of the databases searched being the most frequently described element (91,4%). No differences were found in the information provided in the reviews published by librarians or information professionals and those from other disciplines. Authors using the term systematic or systematized review should describe in a transparent and rigorous manner all the elements essential for its reproducibility and evaluation.

Although there is no legal obstacle within the organization, the invisible barriers that prevent women from coming to senior management positions are called glass ceiling syndrome; in the literature. The main reason for choosing gender discrimination as the subject of this study is that this issue can be encountered at all levels of business life as well as for women working in libraries, information center, etc. and it puts them at a disadvantage. The starting point of this assumption has been that the students who preferred the Information and Records Management Departments, which provide undergraduate education in universities from the past to the present, were predominantly female students, then this weight continued in their professional life, but the situation was reversed in the management levels. Despite this, it is interesting to see that this important subject has not been explored in the librarianship literature until now. The aim of the study is to investigate whether the glass ceiling syndrome has an effect on the promotion of female information professionals to managerial positions. In this study, the data about the information professionals studying and working in this field were turned into statistical tables and an evaluation was made based on these results by considering the reasons for bringing men to the managerial positions in a female-dominated profession. As a result of the evaluation of the data, the assumption that the initial glass ceiling syndrome was an obstacle in the professional careers of female information professionals was also confirmed.

The Documentation Movement was formed in Europe in the late nineteenth century by the leadership of Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine, with the primary goal of establishing international mechanisms for organizing information and knowledge through which all kinds of documents could be collected, organized, and accessible. One of the characteristics of this historical event was the increasingly theoretical treatment of the concept of document as a discourse concept in the field of information. This approach has been revived in recent years under the name of neo-documentation. The purpose of this work is to analyze the conceptual dimensions of "document" from the perspective of the documentation literature and especially neo-documentation. In the field of documentaion literature, the theories of Paul Otlet and Suzanne Briet are emphasized, and in the field of neo-documentation literature, the theories of Lund, Buckland, Irvine-Smith, and Hjorland are emphasized. The research is basic in terms of purpose and conceptual analysis in terms of method and data collection. Also in this research, conceptual analysis has been used with the aim of "concept interpretation" and as far as possible to gain a more accurate understanding of the studied concept. The results showed that former review research on the subject had recognized two general approaches to conceptualizing document, namely, the "document-as-object approach" (inspired by positivism and with emphasis on the objectivity component) and "document-as-medium approach" (inspired by the hermeneutic tradition). The present study identifies three other approaches and adds to this categorization which include: the "integrated approach" (with a comprehensive emphasis on the physical, mental, and social aspects of the document), the " document-as-agent approach" (with emphasis on the concept of agency), and the "Hjorland's intradisciplinary approach" (with emphasis on the concept of context, reference to the tradition of documentation, and the bibliographic paradigm). In addition, researchers have proposed adding a new dimension to the integrated approach. Researchers believe that because of the importance of the "power" and "discourse" components in relation to knowledge, information, and documents, adding a "power relations dimension" to Lund's integrated approach could lead to a more comprehensive understanding of the document from a variety of technical, Social, intellectual-content, as well as discourse perspective.

The phrase "digital divide" refers to the disparity between those who have access to information and computing technology and those who do not. A few facts about the digital divide are presented in the article, concentrating on the regional and national outlooks, including the Indian scenario, its definitions and types, factors widening the digital divide, types of digital divide, reasons for the digital divide, as well as programmes for digital inclusion. It emphasises the digital divide in the Indian context by addressing its infrastructure constraints, which comprise energy, IT penetration, teledensity, and the online business, as well as its supporting policies. It also highlights projects that have contributed to narrowing the digital divide in India, such as Akashganga, Passenger Reservation System, Bhoomi, Gyandoot, Warana wired villages, Village Knowledge Centre, Information Village Research, Akshaya e-centres, E-Chaupal, the Simputer Project, and others. Due to the digital divide, developing countries are unable to fully utilize the internet's potential to eradicate poverty and boost economic growth.
