Bu çalışma Bituminoria bituminosa (L.) (Bb) genotiplerinin tomurcuklanma ve çiçeklenme dönemlerinde bazı kalite özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Çalışmanın bitkisel materyalini Samsun, Kastamonu ve Sinop illerinden toplanan 85 genotip arasından üstün hat olarak seçilen 56 numaralı (41° 18' 39.0'' N ve 36° 20' 02.5' E, Samsun/Merkez) genotip ve İspanya’dan getirilen genotipler arasından üstün hat olarak seçilen A1 ve A3 numaralı 2 edet hat oluşturmuştur. Bb’da sert tohum kabuğu bulunaktadır. Bu nedenle tohumlar zımparalandıktan sonra ilk önce viyollere daha sonra da sıra aralığı 70x70 cm olacak şekilde araziye şaşırtılmıştır. Çalışmada ham protein, asit deterjanda çözünmeyen lif (ADF), nötr deterjanda çözünmeyen lif (NDF), potasyum (K), fosfor (P), kalsiyum, (Ca), magnezyum (Mg), toplam fenolik, toplam flavonoid, radikal kovucu aktivite (DPPH) ve kondanse tanen içerikleri belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, ham protein oranı %12.97-23.14, ADF oranı %20.42-32.49, NDF oranı %31.11-44.25, K oranı %1.80-2.99, P oranı %0.31-0.41, Ca oranı %1.23-1.40, Mg oranı %0.31-0.44, toplam fenolik içeriği 5.22-10.22 mg GA/g, toplam flavonoid içeriği 0.40-0.70 mg QE/g, DPPH içeriği %69.26-86.96 ve kondanse tanen içeriği ise %0.54-1.01 arasında değişmiştir. Sonuç olarak, genotipler arasında 56 numara, hasat zamanları arasında ise tomurcuklanma dönemi diğer işlemlere göre daha üstün olmuştur. Ayrıca ülkemiz doğal florasında oldukça yaygın bulunan Bituminaria bituminosa genotiplerinde belirlenen bu bileşikler hayvan sağlığı ve beslenmesi açısından yeterli olup, ileride yapılacak çalışmalara ışık tutacak niteliktedir.

Bu çalışmada, Siirt’e özgü Zivzik narından elde edilen kabuk tozunun bazı fizikokimyasal özellikleri ve gıda patojenleri olarak bilinen S. aureus, E. coli ve B. cereus bakterilerine karşı antibakteriyel etkileri araştırılmıştır. Denemelerde farklı oranlarda (%2.5, 5, 10 ve 20) distile su ile seyreltilen kabuk tozu kullanılmıştır. Bu bakterilerin standart antibiyotiklere karşı duyarlılıkları belirlenerek, kabuk tozunun antibakteriyel etkisi ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Çözeltilerin pH aralığı 3.68-3.91, O/R aralığı 187.52-199.30 mV ve EC aralığı ise 0.39-0.48 µScm-1 olarak belirlenirken, antibiyotiklerin ve kabuk tozu konsantrasyonunun bakteriler üzerinde etkili oldukları gözlenmiştir. Bakterilere karşı en etkili konsantrasyonun %20 olduğu belirlenirken, kabuğun B. cereus ve E. coli üzerine penicillinden, B. cereus üzerine ise amoxycillin/clavulanic asit᾿ten daha etkili olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, nar kabuğunun gıda patojenlerine karşı antibakteriyel madde olarak kullanılabileceği ve halk sağlığına katkı sunabileceği anlaşılmıştır., In this study, some physicochemical properties of the peel powder obtained from the Zivzik pomegranate native to Siirt and its antibacterial effects against S. aureus, E. coli and B. cereus bacteria, which are known as food pathogens, were investigated. Peel powder diluted with distilled water at different rates (2.5%, 5, 10 and 20%) was used in the experiments. The susceptibilities of these bacteria to standard antibiotics were determined and compared with the antibacterial effect of peel powder. The pH range of the solutions was 3.68-3.91, the O/R range was 187.52-199.30 mV, and the EC range was 0.39-0.48 µScm-1, while it was observed that antibiotics and peel powder concentration were effective on bacteria. While the most effective concentration was determined to be 20% against bacteria, it was determined that the peel was more effective than penicillin on B. cereus and E. coli, and amoxycillin/clavulanic acid on B. cereus. As a result, it has been understood that pomegranate peel can be used as an antibacterial agent against food pathogens and can contribute to public health.

These metabolites and their amounts vary depending upon various factors. Here, we studied the antimicrobial effect of secondary metabolites of Bituminaria sp. genotypes and explored whether this effect changes with different growing stages of the plant. The results show that extracts obtained from 12 B. bituminosa genotypes were not significantly effective on Gram-negative bacteria but highly effective on Gram-positive bacteria and eukaryotic yeast. Of these genotypes, 9 and 12 genotype were more effective than the rest. Observations suggest that the extracts from the plants are more effective during the beginning of flowering stage than the growth and budding stages for the bacteria studied. In Turkey, farmers have started to give importance to silage production of solve the roughage problem. Although corn is generally preferred for silage production, there has been an increase in the silage production of mixtures of different plants in recent years. The aim of the current study was to determine the silage quality of mixtures (100:0, 80:20, 60:40, 40:60 and 20:80%) of chicory (Cichorium intybus L.) “C” white clover (Trifolium repens L) “WC”, and orchard grass (Dactylis glomerata L.) “OG”. Plants were harvested and chopped in size of 2 cm in size. Then, they were filled in vacuum bags and stored at 25 ± 2 oC for 45 days. End of the 45th. day, silo samples were investigated for dry matter ratio, pH, crude protein ratio, lactic acid, acetic acid, butyric acid ratios with potassium, phosphor, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, manganese, zinc, copper, and molybdenum contents. The Flieg score of the silages ranged from 75.60 to 99.62, and the silages were good and very good in the quality class. The highest crude protein content was determined in sole white clover (19.11%), 40C+60 WC% (18.26%), and 20C+80WC% (18.39%), while the lowest was 12.11% (100 OG %). Acetic and butyric acid ranged between 0.048-0.224% and 0.002-0.015%, respectively. The highest lactic acid was determined 3.088% (100 OG %), 2.925% (20C+80OG %), 2.739% (20C+80WC %), and 2.811% (40C+60WC %). Chicory and white clover mixtures showed superior performance in terms of mineral contents. Accordingly, when all silage quality properties are evaluated together; it was found that silages obtained from the mixture of 40:60 and 20:80 of chicory and white clover are better than the others., Türkiye de kaliteli kaba yem üretimini artırmanın yanında, üretilen yemi hayvanların tüketeceği zamana kadar en az kalite kaybı ile muhafaza etmek çok önemlidir. Bu noktada ülkemizde hem üretilen yem bitkisi türlerinin arttırılması, hem de yeni türlerin silaj yapım tekniklerinin ortaya konulması gereklidir. Bu çalışmada hindibanın (Cichorium intybus L.) “H” ak üçgül (Trifolium repens L) “AÜ” veya domuz ayrığı (Dactylis glomerata L.) “DA” ile karışımlarının (% 100:0, 80:20, 60:40, 40:60 ve 20:80) silaj kalite özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bitkiler silaj amacıyla hasat edildikten sonra 2 cm boyutunda parçalanmıştır. Daha sonra vakum poşetlerine doldurularak 25±2 oC’de 45 gün süre ile silolanmıştır. Silo örneklerinde 45. gün sonunda kuru madde oranı, pH, ham protein oranı, laktik asit, asetik asit, bütürik asit oranı ile potasyum, fosfor, kalsiyum, magnezyum, sodyum, demir, mangan, çinko, bakır ve molibden içerikleri belirlenmiştir. Silajların Flieg puanı 75.60 ile 99.62 arasında değişmiş ve silajlar iyi ve pekiyi kalite sınıfında yer almıştır. En yüksek ham protein oranı yalın ak üçgül (% 19.11), % 40H+60AÜ (% 18.26) ve % 20H+80AÜ (% 18.39), en düşük ise % 12.11 ile yalın domuz ayrığı silajında belirlenmiştir. Silajlarda asetik ve bütürik asit sırasıyla % 0.048-0.224 ve % 0.002-0.015 arasında değişmiştir. En yüksek laktik asit oranı % 3.088 (yalın domuz ayrığı), % 2.925 (% 20H+80DA), % 2.739 (% 20H+80AÜ) ve % 2.811 (% 40H+60AÜ) olmuştur. Mineral içerikler bakımından hindiba ile ak üçgül karışımları daha üstün performans göstermiştir. Buna göre tüm silaj kalite özellikleri birlikte değerlendirildiğinde; hindibanın ak üçgül ile 40:60 ve 20:80 karışımlarından elde edilen silajların daha iyi olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

WOS: 000509426700021 This study was conducted with the aim of determining the nutritive values of silages made from forage rape (FR), forage pea (FP) and oat (O) by using some additives (molasses (M; 5 and 10%) and tea wastes (TW; 10 and 20%)). While the FR was harvested at pre-flowering stage, the FP and O were harvested at flowering stage. The forages were wilted for one day, chopped and ensilaged for 62 days in laboratory type silos. Organik ruminant yetiştiriciliğinde, organik tarımda üretilmiş kaliteli kaba yemlere çok büyük ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.Kaliteli kaba yem üretimini olumsuz etkileyen faktörlerden birisi de yabancı otlardır. Bu çalışma, organik kaba yem üretimindeyabancı ot mücadelesi hakkında bilgi sunmak amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Organik tarımda kimyasal kullanımına izinverilmediğinden, yabancı otlarla mücadelede herbisit kullanma şansı kalmamaktadır. Bu nedenle yabancı otlar farklıyöntemlerle baskılanmalıdır. Bilindiği üzere, kaliteli kaba yemler çayır mera alanlarından ve yem bitkileri tarımından eldeedilmektedir. Yem bitkileri tarımında ilk olarak yabancı otlardan arındırılmış tarlaya ekim yapmak ve kaliteli tohumlukkullanmak gerekmektedir. Ön bitki olarak tahıl veya çapa bitkisi yetiştirilmiş tarlalarda yem bitkisi ekildiğinde, yabancı otlardaha az problem olmaktadır. In organic ruminant product system, high quality hay, produced in organic agriculture, is a great need. One of thefactors that negatively affect quality of roughage production is weeds. This study was prepared to provide information aboutthe weed control in organic roughage production. Because chemical herbicide use in organic farming is not allowed, there isno chance to use herbicide to control weeds. Therefore, weeds should be suppressed by different methods. As known qualityroughage is obtained from meadow-pasture lands and forage crops grown in field. In the forage crops agriculture, first of all,it is necessary to sow to the field free of weeds and to use high quality seed. When forage plants were sown at the field wherecereal or hoe plants was grown as previous crop, weeds are less problem. In the perennial species, planting with a companioncrop is also effective in weed control. In pasture lands, weeds can be controlled with following grazing management principlesand grazing planning. In addition, some pasture improvement methods can be effective in combating weeds.

The aim of this study wasto determine the effect of Bituminaria bituminosa (L.) C.H. Stirt. leaf extracts obtained at beginning of growth,budding and beginning of flowering on germination and seedling growthcharacteristics of wheat (Triticumaestivum L.). In the study, 12 B.bituminosa genotypes leaf extracts (G) were used, and the control group wasconsisted of distilled water. In the study, germination percentage, root andshoot length, root and shoot fresh-dry weight, root and shoot biomass andseedling vigor index were investigated. The highest germination percentage wasfound in G1 as 99.55%, and the lowest was found in G2 with 93.93%. The root andshoot length ranged from 6.49-16.28 and 7.58-12.67 cm, respectively. Thehighest seedling vigor index was found in G5 (2813.50), G9 (2619.74), G11(2657.05) and G12 (2657.71), while it was lowest control group (1343.74). As aresult, the G9, G10, and G11 showed higher performance in terms of investigatedtraits. Besides, the B. bituminosagenotypes leaf extracts obtained at the budding stage were higher and hadpositive allelopathy effect compared to the other growth stages., Bu çalışmada, büyümebaşlangıcı, tomurcuklanma ve çiçeklenme dönemlerinde elde edilen Bituminaria bituminosa (L.) C.H. Stirtyaprak ekstraktlarının buğdayın (Triticumaestivum L.) çimlenme ve fide gelişimi üzerine etkilerinin belirlenmesiamaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada 12 adet B.bituminosa genotipinin yaprak ekstraktı kullanılmış, kontrol grubunu isesaf su oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada çimlenme oranı, kök-gövde uzunlukları, kök-gövdeyaş ve kuru ağırlıkları, kök ve göde biyokütlesi ve fide canlılık indeksiincelenmiştir. En yüksek çimlenme oranı 1 numaralı (% 99.55), en düşük ise 2numaralı (% 93.93) genotipten elde edilmiştir. Çalışmada kök ve gövdeuzunlukları sırasıyla 6.49-16.28 ve 7.58-12.67 arasında değişmiştir. En yüksekfide canlılık indeksi G5 (2813.50), G9 (2619.74), G11 (2657.05) and G12(2657.71), en düşük ise kontrol uygulamasından (1343.74). elde edilmiştir. Sonuçolarak çalışmada 9, 10 ve 11 numaralı genotipler incelenen özelliklerbakımından diğer genotiplere oranla daha üstün performens göstermiştir. Ayrıcatomurcuklanma döneminde alınan B.bituminosa yaprak ekstraktları diğer gelişme dönemlerine göre buğdayıngelişimi üzerinde daha yüksek ve olumlu allelopatik özelik göstermiştir.

In thisstudy the seeds were germinated at 20 ± 1 ° C in the petri dishes, which wasaimed to determine the effect of different salt doses to germination andseedling growth in a Sorghum×Sudangrass (Sorghumbicolor×Sorghum sudanense)cultivar called ‘‘greengo’’.Sixteen different salt doses (0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200,220, 240, 260, 280, 300 mM NaCl) were applied to the petri dishes. Theexperiment was established in randomized plots experimental design with 10 replications.In the study, germination rate (%), number of days of germination (days),length of radicle and plumula (cm), fresh and dry weights (g) of radicle andplumula were determined. Since the germination rate data were not homogeneous,they were analyzed with Kruskal-Wallis and for comparison the Dunn test wasused. Other parameters showing homogeneity were analyzed in randomized plotdesign and the means were compared by Tukey multiple comparison test. It wasdetermined that all of the parameters examined in the statistical analysis wereeffected significantly by salt application. When all of the examined parameterswere evaluated together, it was concluded that the greengo cultivar whichbelong to Sorghum×Sudangrass can tolerate salt application up to a dose of 220mM NaCl (between 0-200 mM) interms of germination and seedling growth., Sorgum×Sudanotu (Sorghumbicolor×Sorghum sudanense) greengo çeşidinde farklı tuz dozlarının çimlenme ve fide gelişimineetkisini belirlemek amacıyla yürütülen bu araştırmada, tohumlar petrikabında, karanlık ortamda 20±1°C’de çimlendirilmiştir.Çalışmada petri kaplarına 16 farklı tuz (NaCl) dozu (0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100,120, 140, 160, 180, 200, 220, 240, 260, 280, 300 mM NaCl) uygulanmıştır. Denemetesadüf parselleri deneme desenine göre 10 tekrarlı olarak kurulmuştur. Çalışmada, çimlenme oranı (%), ortalama çimlenme gün sayısı (gün),radikula (kökçük) ve plumula (sapçık) uzunluğu (cm), radikula ve plumulanın yaşve kuru ağırlıkları (g) belirlenmiştir. Çimlenme oranı verileri homojenolmadıklarından, Kruskal-Wallis ile analiz edilmiş ve karşılaştırma için Dunntesti kullanılmıştır. Homojenlik gösteren diğer özellikler ise tesadüfparselleri deneme deseninde analiz edilmiş ve Tukey çoklu karşılaştırma testiile ortalamalar karşılaştırılmıştır. Yapılan istatistik analiz sonucundaincelenen tüm parametrelerin tuz uygulamasından önemli derecede etkilendiğibelirlenmiştir. Araştırmada incelenentüm parametreler birlikte değerlendirildiğinde, Sorgum×Sudanotu melezinin (Sorghum bicolor×Sorghum sudanense)greengo çeşidinin çimlenme ve fide gelişimi bakımından 220 mM NaCl dozuna kadarolan (0-200 mM aralığında) tuz uygulamalarını tolere edebildiği sonucunavarılmıştır.

Nüfus, şehirleşme oranı ve gelir artışı gibi nedenlerle yüksek kaliteli gıdalara (özellikle hayvansal gıdalar)olan talep dünya genelinde artmaktadır. Bu artışın gelecek yıllarda da sürmesi beklenmektedir. Bu durum gıdaüretiminin artırılması ve çevresel yönden sürdürülebilir bir sisteme oturtulması gerekliliğini ortaya çıkarmaktadır.Son yüzyılda, atmosferdeki CO2 düzeyi yaklaşık 100 ppm, dünyanın ortalama ısısı 0.9 oC ve deniz suyu seviyesi 20cm kadar yükselmiştir. Hayvancılık faaliyetleri, tarımsal kimyasallar, çeltik tarımı, tarımda kullanılan makinalar veanız yakma gibi bazı tarımsal faaliyetler önemli düzeyde sera gazı salınımına neden olmaktadır. Yürütülen birçokaraştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, ekim nöbeti sistemlerinde ve hayvan beslemede yemlik baklagillerin kullanılması,sera gazı salınımı ve çevresel kirliliği önemli oranda azaltmaktadır. Bitkisel üretimde en sınırlayıcı elementazottur ve tarımda kullanılan azotlu gübrelerin üretiminde çok yüksek oranda sera gazı salınımına neden olanfosil yakıtlar kullanılmaktadır. Azotlu gübrelerin yerine, simbiyotik yolla N2 bağlayan baklagillerin tarım sisteminedahil edilmesi, daha çevre dostu ve sürdürülebilir bir uygulamadır. Baklagiller simbiyotik yolla yılda hektara 100-380 kg N bağlayabilme yeteneğindedirler. Hayvancılık, sindirim sistemi fermentasyonu, atık gübreler ve diğerüretim faaliyetleri sırasında ortaya çıkan CO2, CH4 ve N2O nedeniyle, tarımsal kökenli sera gazı salınımının enönemli kaynağıdır. Yemlik baklagillerin hayvan rasyonlarına katılması verimliliği artırırken, aynı zamanda et ve sütüretiminde CH4 ve N2O salınımını azaltmakta ve karbon tutumunu da artırmaktadır. Dünya genelinde antropojenikCH4 salınımının yaklaşık % 21-25’i hayvan sindirim sisteminde üretilmektedir. Bazı yemlik baklagiller bünyelerindetanen ve polifenoloksidaz gibi ikincil metabolitler bulundururlar. Bu maddeler hayvanın sindirim sisteminde metanoluşumunu azaltırlar ve ayrıca sindirilemeyen azotu idrar yerine dışkıya yönlendirirler. İdrardaki N hızlıca N2O’yadönüşüp, sera gazı olarak atmosfere geçerken, dışkıdaki azot organik madde olarak toprakta depolanır. Çayır-meraalanlarının ana bileşenlerinden olan yemlik baklagiller toprak-bitki-hayvan-atmosfer sisteminin farklı aşamalarındaçok önemli katkı sağlarlar., The demand for high quality foods is increasing due to increase of urbanization, population anddisposable income. Thus increased global food production is required and this increase must be achieved throughenvironmentally sustainable production systems. It is a fact that CO2 concentration of atmosphere about 100 ppm,average global temperature about 0.9 oC, and sea level about 20 cm increased in the last century. Some agriculturalactivities such as, enteric fermentation, agricultural chemicals, paddy farm, agricultural machines and burning ofstubble causes highly greenhouse gases (GHG) emission. Regard the results of studies, forage legumes used incrop rotation and livestock feeding decreases GHG emissions and pollute of natural sources. Currant agriculturalproduction is highly N limited, while the provision of industrial N is largely based on fossil energy with its associatedemission of GHG. Thus, substitution of industrial N fertilizer with N derived from legumes’ symbiotic N2 fixationis an important contribution to more environmental friendly and resource efficient agricultural systems. Livestockproduction is a significant source of GHG emissions, generating CO2, CH4 and N2O from enteric fermentation,manure management and other production activities. Inclusion of forage legumes in ruminant diets can potentiallyimprove productivity while at the same time reducing the C footprint of meat and milk production through reducedCH4 and N2O emissions as well as enhanced C sequestration. Several forage legumes possess plant secondarymetabolites that include tannins and polyphenoloxidase. In the rumen, these secondary metabolites protect proteinsfrom degradation and ruminants excrete less urinary N but more fecal N. This is important because the urinary Nis quickly converted to ammonia and N2O which induces environmental problems. There is evidence that foragelegumes, as components of mixed grass-legume swards, can provide multiple benefits to agriculture by acting atdifferent stages in the soil-plant-animal-atmosphere system.

Introduction: 1.5 million ha of Turkey’s land is affected by salinity which is equal to the 7% of agricultural land. The response of plants to the salt may be various depending on the growth period of the plants, the concentration of the salt and the duration that the salt is effective. In studies on salt stress many plant species were used until today. However, there are also plant species which grow easily in many soil structures such as buckwheat. Even though buckwheat plant is grown for grain, it is used as nectar source for bees and fodder crop. Material and Methods: Pot and petri experiment were carried out in this study to determinate the effect of different NaCl concentrations (0, 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150 mM) on germination and plant growth of Fogopyrum esculentum Moench. These experiments were done in the plants chamber with 25°C±1 temperature with 16 hours light/8 hour dark photoperiod. In the petri study, germination rate (%), plant height (cm), root length (cm), root and stem bioamass, and in the pots study, plant height (cm), number of leaves (number/plant), stem diameter (mm), aboveground fresh and dry weight (g), root fresh and dry weight (g), chlorophyll a and b values (mg FW) were determined. Results: Petri experiments: The highest plant height and root length were determined in 0 mM NaCl treatment (11.92 and 5.71 cm respectively), while they were lowest in 150 mM NaCl treatment (0.10-0.56 cm respectively). Stem and root biomass were ranged between 7.67-1965.7 g/ha and 36.08-629.63 g/ha respectively and the highest root and stem biomass values were determined in 25 mM NaCl traetment. Pot experiments: The highest plant height was determined in 0 mM NaCl treatment, while it was the lowest in 150 mM NaCl treatment. Number of leaves and stem diameter were ranged between 5.55-7.77 and 2.50-2.84 mm. The highest chlorophyll a and b were determined in 25 mM NaCl traetment (0.0052 and 0.0025 mg fresh weight respectively). Discussion: In a study which determines the effect of different NaCl doses on germination and plant growth of buckwheat, it is found out that experiments, when salt consantration increased, germination and plant growth were affetc negatively as a result of experiments. In addition, the root and stem biomass with chlorophyll a and b values were promoted by 25 mM NaCl. However, it was found out that 50 mM NaCl and higher consantrations had significant negative effect on the plant.

can, mehmet/0000-0003-0230-6209 WOS: 000439087100061 This study was conducted to determine some morphological, agricultural and quality traits at different growth stage (the beginning of growth, stem elongation, budding, flowering and seed set) of Bituminaria bituminosa (L.) C.H. Stirtion (Bitbit) genotypes collected from 25 different locations in Samsun, Sinop and Kastamonu, the Middle Black Sea Region of Turkey. The experiment was conducted in Samsun ecological conditions and was carried out for two years (2012-2013 and 2013-2014) and the observations were conducted in the second year. Plant height, number of branch, main stem diameter, leaflet width and length and leaf ratio, dry plant weight, crude protein, ADF and NDF ratios, K, P, Ca and Mg contents of Bitbit genotypes were investigated. The highest plant height and dry plant weight were determined at the budding stage (118.65 cm and 205.0 g), while the lowest were determined at the beginning of the growth stage (26.32 cm and 58.4 g). Crude protein, ADF and NDF ratios ranged between 7.28-23.41%, 19.80-47.14% and 27.37-56.38%, respectively. According to the correlation and path analysis regarding the agricultural and quality traits at the flowering stage, plant height, main stem diameter, and number of branch had significant positive effects on yield increase, while ADF and NDF ratios had a negative effect on RFV. The highest crude protein yield was obtained at the flowering stage while it was lowest at the beginning of growth. As a result of, Bitbit genotypes harvesting at flowering stage may be the most appropriate in terms of yield and quality traits in Black Sea region conditions. Bu araştırma Afyonkarahisar ilinin Bolvadin ilçesindeki Avşar Gıda Tarım Hayvancılık A.Ş. arazisinde yürütülmüş ve May Tohumculuk firmasına ait olan İsideadlı yonca (Medicago sativa) çeşidi kullanılmıştır. İkinci yılında olan yonca bitkileri, ikinci gelişmede %10 çiçeklenme dönemine gelince hasat edilmiştir. Karbonhidrat kaynağı ve/veya katkı madesi olarak şeker pancarı melası, arpa ezmesi ve peynir altı suyu tozu kullanılmıştır. Katkı maddelerinin yonca silajının besin içeriği, fermentasyon özellikleri ve kalitesine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Hasat edilen yonca materyali 1.5-2.0 cm boyutlarında doğrandıktan sonra 0 (kontrol), 50 ve 100 g-1kg kuru madde oranlarında katkı maddeleri eklenerek plastik kaplarda silaj yapılmıştır. Oda sıcaklığında 45 gün olgunlaşması beklendikten sonra, silaj kapları açılarak duyusal ve kimyasal analizler yapılmıştır. Katkı maddeleri genel olarak silajın ham protein, nötr deterjan lif, asit deterjan lif içeriğini azaltırken, sindirilebilir kuru madde, kuru madde tüketimi ve nispi yem değerini yükseltmiştir. Aynı şekilde katkı maddeleri silajın asetik asit ve bütirik asit konsantrasyonlarını düşürürken, laktik asit konsantrasyonunu yükseltmistir. Silajların pH içeriği sadece peynir altı suyu tozunda kontrol grubuna göre yüksek çıkmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda şeker pancarı melası, arpa ezmesi ve peynir altı suyu tozunun yonca silajlarında, silajın besin değeri ve kalitesini artırmak için belirlenecek uygun dozlarda kullanılabileceği belirlenmiştir., This research was carried out by using “Iside” cultivar of alfalfa at Avsar Gida Tarim Hayvancilik A.S. in Bolvadin, Afyon, Turkey. Alfalfa plants which were in the second year and the second development were harvested at 10% blooming stage. Sugar beet molasses, crushed barley seeds and whey powder were used as additives. The effects of the additives on nutrient contents, fermentation characteristics and quality of alfalfa silage were studied. After harvesting material chopped 1.5-2.0 cm sizes, the additives rates of 0, 50 and 100 g-1 kg DM were added and processed in plastic bags at room temperature. After waiting 45 days plastic bags were opened for performing sensory and chemical analysis. In general, the additives decreased crude protein, ADF, NDF while increased DDM, DMI and RFV of the alfalfa silage. The additives, also, decreased acetic acid, butyric acid and increased lactic acid concentrations of alfalfa silage. Only whey powder increased pH value of the silage, compare to control. In the lights of the findings, it was concluded that sugar beet molasses, crushed barley seeds and whey powder can be used with appropriate doses to increase nutritional value and quality of alfalfa silage.

High variation was observed among landraces regarding all the studied traits. ȕ-ODAP content was determined by using capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) and extreme levels of ȕ-ODAP were 1.40 and 3.05 mg g-1 in among the landraces (average 1.96 mg g-1). Also the correlations between traits were investigated and, the strongest positive correlations were between main stem number and leaflet length and, between seed yield per plant and pod number per plant. Seed yield significantly (p< 0.01) and positively correlated with most of the investigated traits. Correlations between ȕ-ODAP content and other traits were negative or no significant. Leafed (13) and semi-leafless (U) forage pea (Pisum sativum L.) cultivars and triticale (xTriticosecale Wittmack) were sown as monocrops and in different forage pea:triticale mixture ratios (75:25, 50:50, 25:75) and harvested at booting and milk-dough stage of triticale. Considering the total digestible dry matter and crude protein yields of the treatments together, it was observed that T-75:U-25, T-50:U-50, T-75:U-25 mixtures harvested at milk-dough stage of triticale produced high yields. In addition, leafed forage pea was found to be more aggressive than semi-leafless cv. in all mixtures.
