In this paper we present commutativity results for a general class of Szasz-Mirakjan-Durrmeyer type operators and associated differential operators and investigate their eigenfunctions.

In this paper we introduce a general family of Sz\'asz--Mirakjan--Durrmeyer type operators depending on an integer parameter $j \in \mathbb{Z}$. They can be viewed as a generalization of the Sz\'asz--Mirakjan--Durrmeyer operators [9], Phillips operators [11] and corresponding Kantorovich modifications of higher order. For $j\in {\mathbb{N}}$, these operators possess the exceptional property to preserve constants and the monomial $x^{j}$. It turns out, that an extension of this family covers certain well-known operators studied before, so that the outcoming results could be unified. We present the complete asymptotic expansion for the sequence of these operators. All its coefficients are given in a concise form. In order to prove the expansions for the class of locally integrable functions of exponential growth on the positive half-axis, we derive a localization result which is interesting in itself.

Extending an earlier estimate for the degree of approximation of overiterated univariate Bernstein operators towards the same operator of degree one, it is shown that an analogous result holds in the $d$-variate case. The method employed can be carried over to many other cases and is not restricted to Bernstein-type or similar methods.

We prove a version of a conjecture concerning the asymptotic behavior of the Aldaz-Kounchev-Render operators on the hypercube.

The idea behind Poisson approximation to the binomial distribution was used in [J. de la Cal, F. Luquin, J. Approx. Theory, 68(3), 1992, 322-329] and subsequent papers in order to establish the convergence of suitable sequences of positive linear operators. The proofs in these papers are given using probabilistic methods. We use similar methods, but in analytic terms. In this way we recover some known results and establish several new ones. In particular, we enlarge the list of the limit operators and give characterizations of them.

The Bernstein-type operator of Aldaz, Kounchev and Render (2009) is discussed. New direct results in terms of the classical second order modulus as well as in a modification following Marsden and Schoenberg are given.

We consider some hypergeometric functions and prove that they are elementary functions. Consequently, the second order moments of Meyer-Konig and Zeller type operators are elementary functions. The higher order moments of these operators are expressed in terms of elementary functions and polylogarithms. Other applications are concerned with the expansion of certain Heun functions in series or finite sums of elementary hypergeometric functions.

The main object of this paper is to improve some of the known estimates for classical Kantorovich operators. A quantitative Voronovskaya-type result in terms of second moduli of continuity which improves some previous results is obtained. In order to explain non-multiplicativity of the Kantorovich operators a Chebyshev-Gr\"uss inequality is given. Two Gr\"uss-Voronovskaya theorems for Kantorovich operators are considered as well.

The present paper deals with the estimate of the differences of certain positive linear operators and their derivatives. Our approach involves operators defined on bounded intervals, as Bernstein operators, Kantorovich operators, genuine Bernstein-Durrmeyer operators, Durrmeyer operators with Jacobi weights. The estimates in quantitative form are given in terms of first modulus of continuity. In order to analyze the theoretical results in the last section we consider some numerical examples.

The main object of this paper is to construct new Durrmeyer type operators which have better features than the classical one. Some results concerning the rate of convergence and asymptotic formulas of the new operator are given. Finally, the theoretical results are analyzed by numerical examples.

The main object of this paper is to construct a new genuine Bernstein-Durrmeyer type operators which have better features than the classical one. Some direct estimates for the modified genuine Bernstein-Durrmeyer operator by means of the first and second modulus of continuity are given. An asymptotic formula for the new operator is proved. Finally, some numerical examples with illustrative graphics have been added to validate the theoretical results and also compare the rate of convergence.

The present paper deals with modifications of Bernstein, Kantorovich, Durrmeyer and genuine Bernstein-Durrmeyer operators. Some previous results are improved in this study. Direct estimates for these operators by means of the first and second modulus of continuity are given. Also the asymptotic formulas for the new operators are proved.

We consider a generalized form of certain integral inequalities given by Guessab, Schmeisser and Alomari. The trapezoidal, mid point, Simpson, Newton-Simpson rules are obtained as special cases. Also, inequalities for the generalized Alomari functional in terms of the $n$-th order modulus, $n=\overline{1,4}$, are given and applied to some known quadrature rules.

We consider a sequence of composite bivariate Bernstein operators and the cubature formula associated with them. The upper bounds for the remainder term of the cubature formula are described in terms of moduli of continuity of order two. Also we include some results showing how non-multiplicative the integration functional is.

Several inequalities of Ostrowski-Gruss-type availabe in the literature are generalized by considering the weighted case of them. Involving the least concave majorant of the modulus of continuity we provide upper error bounds of such inequalities.

The estimate in Bullen's inequality will be extended for continuous functions using the second order modulus of smoothness. A different form of this inequality will be given in terms of the least concave majorant. Also, the composite case of Bullen's inequality is considered.
