Our study contributes to the literature pertaining to plagiarism that focuses on the systemic factors underlying academic misconduct. While most such research has been conducted in Western countries, such as the US, UK, Australia, and Canada, we collected data from the academic periphery. On the country level, the incidence of plagiarism is higher in the academic periphery . However, these country level differences can conceal the variance within national academic communities; consequently, we focus on organizational characteristics as a potential source of influence in this context. We find that organizational factors allow us to predict reported academic misconduct better in the context of predatory publishing, while such factors are less relevant for predicting the incidence of academic plagiarism. An exception to this general rule is the possibility of sanctions that an organization would implement in the case of misconduct. A lack of organizational sanctions is positively associated with reported questionable research practices, with respect to both publishing in predatory journals and academic plagiarism. &nbsp

In recent years, BRIC countries have demonstrated high rates of economic growth, rapid increases in GDP per capita and growing capital accumulation, and have been playing an increasingly important role in the global economy. However, as middle-income countries (low-income in the case of India), BRICs still rely on development finance. Multilateral development banks (MDBs) have become an important source of external long-term capital available to BRICs. The objective of this paper is to examine the role of multilateral development banks in BRICs and to take a look at the banks’ operations as well as problems related to MDBs’ performance in BRIC countries.

Regional economic integration in the EurAsEC member countries is increasingly often considered by academics from the point of view of cooperation in trade and investment. Much less attention is paid to the activities of banking intermediaries which fund these operations. The expansion and strengthening of cooperation in the region is accompanied by a growing demand for banking services. In the 1990s, cross-border banking operations were practically the only international system available. In the past few years, financial organisations have set up networks in EurAsEC member countries to service their regular clients, whose economic interests extend beyond national economic boundaries. The development of mutual cooperation between their banking systems includes a commitment by EurAsEC member countries to create an integrated financial market as part of the regional bloc, in line with the EurAsEC member countries’ Blueprint for Monetary Cooperation. Given this situation it becomes expedient to examine the level of banking interaction in the member countries and identify existing preconditions for the creation of a single banking and financial services market.

This paper investigates the role of multilateral development banks in promoting economic integration in different regional blocs. The experience of financing regional public goods by several multilateral development banks is studied (Inter-American Development Bank, Central American Bank for Economic Integration, Andean Development Corporation, Asian Development Bank). Special attention is paid to the perspectives of the multilateral development banks in promoting regional integration in the post-soviet area.

This article is devoted to the analysis of the integration level of the banking markets of CEE countries and EU. First of all we estimate the mutual presence of banking structures, cross-border corporate and retail loans between CEE and EU. Secondly we analyze the level of harmonization of the banking law of CEE countries according to acquis communautaire. The research will be based on the experience of five CEE countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia).
