This article, titled "EP07.70: Thickened nuchal translucency with a normal karyotype: management and prognosis," discusses the prognosis and management of fetuses with a thickened nuchal translucency but a normal karyotype. The study, conducted at the University Hospital Mongi Slim La Marsa in Tunis, examined fifteen cases of thickened nuchal translucency with confirmed normal karyotypes. This article discusses the use of transvesical ultrasound-guided local methotrexate (MTX) injection as a first-line treatment for ectopic Caesarean scar pregnancies (CSP). The study conducted a retrospective analysis of five CSP cases treated with transvesical injection of MTX. The results showed that this technique was successful in treating the patients, with a significant drop in hCG levels and cessation of fetal cardiac activity in four patients, leading to further uncomplicated dilation and curettage. Thick (200 to 500 [micro]m) epitaxial GaAs layers have been grown on two inch wafers by using a chemical reaction technique which is inexpensive, is nonpolluting, and allows very high growth rates. X-ray detectors made of p/i/n structures have been realized using nonintentionally doped layers grown on [n.sup.+] GaAs substrates, with the [p.sup.+] layer at the surface obtained by ion implantation. These detectors have been validated by current and capacitance-voltage measurements, photocurrent induced by X-ray irradiation, and energy resolution measurements. The data obtained demonstrate that these detectors exhibit similar performances as those obtained previously with conventional epigrowth techniques. Under standard conditions of medical examination (anode voltage of 60 kV, current of 75 mA, and distance of 70 cm), up to 1[0.sup.13] charges per second per [mm.sup.2] can be collected. The observed response time is apparently limited by the decay of the X-ray pulse. Index Terms--Epitaxy, GaAs, X-ray detector.

Ben Brahim Influence of the Soret effect on entropy generation in a square cavity filled with a binary gas mixture in double diffusive convection is numerically studied. It was found that entropy generation increases with the increase of thermal diffusion and buoyancy ratios for fixed thermal Grashof number. Total irreversibility takes a minimum value at a special buoyancy ratio ranging between 1 and 0. Soret effect causes the increase of total irreversibility by more than 50% at higher values of thermal Grashof number and buoyancy ratio. More details of the irreversibilities localisation are discussed.

The dimensionless total entropy generation is evaluated as a function of: the buoyancy ratio N, a parameter characterising the solutal buoyancy forces by report to the thermal ones; the Dufour parameter KF, a parameter characterising the influence of the diffusion-thermo effect; the thermal Grashof number. More details of the investigation is focused for the special case when N = −1.

The numerical solutions of complete navier stoke and energy equations and the effects of presence of triangular prism on the flow structure and heat transfer are presented. In the symmetric flow the presence of the triangular prism has local weak effects on the heat transfer and on the flow pattern while in periodic flow the heat transfer is seen to increase strongly with Reynolds number in presence of the triangular prism.

A two-dimensional steady laminar natural convection in rectangular enclosure filled with CuO-water nanofluid is numerically investigated. The horizontal walls are thermally insulated and the left vertical side one is heated by a temporal sinusoidal temperature variation, whereas the right wall is kept at cold temperature. Mass Conservation, momentum, and energy equations are numerically solved by the finite volume element method using the SIMPLER algorithm for pressure-velocity coupling. This study has been carried out for four parameters: the volumetric fraction of nanoparticles φ (0%≤φ≤4%), aspect ratio Ar (0.25≤Ar≤l), amplitude of temperature a (0.2≤a≤0.8) and its period (0.2≤Θ≤0.8). These simulations are performed at constant Rayleigh and Prandtl numbers (Ra=105 and Pr=7.02). Numerical results show that the addition of nanoparticules into the basic fluid has a double role, increasing heat transfer and reducing the response time of the system. The decreasing of aspect ratio shows an increasing trend of the heat transfer and increases the amplitude of Nusselt number. We also see that after a time period the system does not return to its initial state (hysteresis phenomenon) because of the system inertia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
