This study aim to update the health map of anthracnose, one of the main diseases of cashew trees in Côte d’Ivoire. Sanitary surveys were carried out from 22 October to 22 December 2019 in 290 orchards in 19 Regions of the country. In each orchard visited, 10 cashew trees were surveyed. The assessment consisted to determinate the incidence and severity index of anthracnose on the foliage. Leaves symptomatic of anthracnose were sampled for laboratory analysis. During the pre-flowering period of cashew trees, anthracnose manifests itself on the leaves as necrotic spots in the form of dotted lines or a grey patch. The highest average incidence was obtained in the region of Marahoué (100%) and the lowest in the region of Moronou (29.82%). The average severity index at national level was 28.48%. 85 isolates of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides were obtained from all the samples collected. The study revealed that anthracnose is present in all cashew orchards and its incidence varies from one region to another in Côte d’Ivoire. The region of Haut-Sassandra showed the highest severity. Cette étude vise à actualiser la carte sanitaire de l’anthracnose, l’une des principales maladies des anacardiers en Côte d’Ivoire. Des prospections sanitaires ont été effectuées du 22 octobre au 22 décembre 2019 dans 290 vergers répartis dans 19 Régions du pays. Dans chaque verger visité, 10 anacardiers ont été prospectés. L’évaluation a consisté à déterminer l’incidence et l’indice de sévérité de l’anthracnose sur le feuillage. Des feuilles symptomatiques à l’anthracnose ont été échantillonnées pour des analyses au laboratoire. Pendant la période pré-florale des anacardiers, l’anthracnose se manifeste sur les feuilles par des taches nécrotiques sous forme de pointillés ou par une plage grise. L’incidence moyenne la plus élevée a été obtenue dans la Région de la Marahoué (100 %) et la plus faible a été obtenue dans celle du Moronou (29,82 %). L’indice de sévérité moyen au niveau national s’élève à 28,48 %. 85 isolats de Colletotrichum gloeosporioides ont été obtenus sur l’ensemble des échantillons collectés. L’étude a révélé que l’anthracnose est présente dans tous les vergers d’anacardiers et son incidence varie d’une Région à l’autre en Côte d’Ivoire. La Région du Haut- Sassandra a présenté la plus forte sévérité.

Anthracnose is a fungal disease of cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.) caused by Colletotrichum sp. This disease causes several damages in cashew orchards in Côte d’Ivoire. The objective of this study was to isolate presumptive isolates of soil-borne bacteria and to evaluate their effects on the growth of Colletotrichum sp causing cashew anthracnose in Côte d’Ivoire. From soil samples, bacteria were isolated and their antifungal activities were evaluated in vitro. These activities were then evaluated on the mycelial growth of Colletotrichum sp in the presence of bacteria and two synthetic fungicides (Propiconazole and Prochloraz). Bacterial counts on agar showed an average load of 1,3.106 to 2,5.106 CFU/g of soil. The bacterial isolates and the synthetic fungicide Prochloraze showed an in vitro antagonistic activity of more than 50% against Colletotrichum sp compared to the fungicide Propiconazole. Two strains showed the highest average inhibition rates of 86,6±2,7 and 79,95±5,1% respectively. These two strains once determined can be used in the biological control of cashew anthracnose in Côte d’Ivoire. L’anthracnose est une maladie fongique de l’anacardier (Anacardium occidentale L.) causée par Colletotrichum sp. Cette maladie cause plusieurs dégâts dans les vergers d’anacardier en Côte d’Ivoire. L’objectif de cette étude a été d’isoler les isolats de bactéries telluriques de la rhizosphère de l’anacardier et d’évaluer leurs effets sur la croissance de Colletotrichum sp responsable de l’anthracnose de l’anacardier en Côte d’Ivoire. A partir d’échantillons de sols, des bactéries ont été isolés puis leurs activités antifongiques ont été évaluées in vitro. Ces activités ont été par la suite évaluées sur la croissance mycélienne de Colletotrichum sp en présence bactéries et deux fongicides de synthèse (Propiconazole et Prochloraze). Le dénombrement des bactéries sur gélose a présenté une charge moyenne de 1,3.106 à 2,5.106 UFC /g de sol. Les isolats de bactéries et le fongicide de synthèse Prochloraze ont montré une activité antagoniste in vitro supérieur à 50 % contre Colletotrichum sp comparé au fongicide Propiconazole. Deux souches de bactérie ont présenté les taux moyens d’inhibition les plus élevés, respectivement de 86,6±2,7 et 79,95±5,1%. Ces deux souches une fois déterminées peuvent être utilisées dans la lutte biologique contre l’anthracnose de l’anacardier en Côte d’Ivoire.

Bacterial blight is one of the main constraints of cashew trees that can hamper cashew yield. The objective of this study was to update the distribution map of bacterial blight in cashew production areas in Côte d’Ivoire. Surveys conducted in 2019 during all phenological stages of cashew tree in all production regions made it possible to assess the average infection rate and the average severity index of bacterial blight in 358 orchards. A sampling of symptomatic organs were also carried out. Cashew tree bacterial blight is present in all cashew nut producing regions of Côte d’Ivoire. Bacterial blight symptoms have been observed on cashew tree organs. The infection rates and severity index per region revealed a variability from 25.28 % ( Moronou ) to 99.39 % ( Marahoué ) and from 2.15 % ( Indénié-Duablin ) to 48.87 % (Worodougou ), respectively. Bacterial blight is present in all cashew-growing regions, with varying levels of infection. The average rates above 90 % indicate the severity of the disease. La bactériose est l’une des principales contraintes de l’anacardier susceptibles de freiner le rendement de la noix de cajou. L’objectif de cette étude a été d’actualiser la carte de distribution de la bactériose dans les zones de production de l’anacardier en Côte d’Ivoire. Des prospections conduites en 2019 durant tous les stades phénologiques de l’anacardier dans toutes les régions de production ont permis d’évaluer le taux moyen d’infection et l’indice moyen de sévérité de la bactériose dans 358 vergers. Des échantillonnages d’organes symptomatiques ont été également effectués. la bactériose de l’anacardier est présente dans toutes les régions de production de noix de cajou en Côte d’Ivoire. Les symptômes de la bactériose ont été observés sur les organes de l’anacardier. Les taux d’infection et les indices de sévérité par région ont révélé une variabilité respective de 25,28 % ( Moronou ) à 99,39 % ( Marahoué ) et de 2,15 % ( Indénié-Duablin ) à 48,87 % (Worodougou) La bactériose est présente dans toutes les régions productrices de l’anacardier, avec des niveaux d’infection variables. Les taux moyens, au-delà de 90 % dénotent de la gravité de la maladie.

Resistance to pyrethroid and organophosphate insecticides in the malaria vector Anopheles gambiae (s.l.) is conferred by a variety of genetic mutations, including single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and copy number variants (CNVs). Knowledge of the distribution of these mutations in mosquito populations is a prerequisite for establishing better strategies for their management. In this study, a total of 755 Anopheles gambiae (s.l.) from southern Cote d'Ivoire were exposed to deltamethrin or pirimiphos-methyl insecticides and were screened to assess the distribution of SNPs and CNVs known or believed to confer resistance to one or other of the insecticide classes. Most individuals from the An. gambiae (s.l.) complex were identified by molecular tests as Anopheles coluzzii. Survival to deltamethrin (from 94% to 97%) was higher than to pirimiphos-methyl (from 10% to 49%). In An. gambiae (s.s.), the SNP in the Voltage Gated Sodium Channel (Vgsc) at the 995F locus (Vgsc-995F) was fixed, while other target site mutations were rare or absent (Vgsc-402L: 0%; Vgsc-1570Y: 0%, Acetylcholinesterase Acel-280S: 14%). In An. coluzzii, Vgsc-995F was the target site SNP found at highest frequency (65%) followed by other target site mutations (Vgsc-402L: 36%; Vgsc-1570Y: 0.33%; Acel-280S: 45%). The Vgsc-995S SNP was not present. The presence of the Ace1-280S SNP was found to be significantly linked to the presence of the Ace1-CNV, Ace1_AgDup. Significant association was found between the presence of the Ace1_AgDup and pirimiphos-methyl resistance in An. gambiae (s.s.) but not in An. coluzzii. The deletion Ace1_Del97 was found in one specimen of An. gambiae (s.s.). Four CNVs in the Cyp6aa/Cyp6p gene cluster, which contains genes of known importance for resistance, were detected in An. coluzzii, the most frequent being Dup 7 (42%) and Dup 14 (26%). While none of these individual CNV alleles were significantly associated with resistance, copy number in the Cyp6aa gene region in general was associated with increased resistance to deltamethrin. Elevated expression of Cyp6p3 was nearly associated with deltamethrin resistance, although there was no association of resistance with copy number. Use of alternative insecticides and control methods to arrest resistance spread in An. coluzzii populations is merited.

The aim of this study was to assess the impact of a set of variables (agronomic, geographic and climatic) on the spread of the cassava anthracnose disease at a national scale in Côte d’Ivoire. Survey conducted between 2014 and 2017 allowed determining the incidence and the severity of this disease in cassava farms using an infection scoring scale. Farms’ infection was found increasing from clean farms (1 %) to infected grass ones (4 %). Furthermore, high infestation rates and differences were observed in monoculture (10 %) and intercropping (21 %). The magnitude and severity of anthracnose disease was found higher within farms with planting densities of more than 10,000 cassava plants / hectare. Farms situated between parallels of the fifth and ninth degree at latitude North are severely infested.Key words : Cassava, Anthracnose, Agronomic Practices, Climatic Parameters, Côte d’Ivoire. L’objectif de cette étude, était d’évaluer l’impact de certains facteurs agronomiques, géographiques et climatiques sur le développement de l’anthracnose du manioc et la distribution des zones d’infestation en Côte d’Ivoire. Des prospections menées entre 2014 et 2017 ont permis de déterminer l’incidence et la sévérité de l’anthracnose dans des parcelles de manioc. Il en ressort que les infestations des parcelles ont augmenté de 1 à 4 % en passant des parcelles Propres aux parcelles Enherbées. Les proportions des parcelles infectées ont augmenté de 10 à 21 % respectivement pour les parcelles en culture pure et les parcelles en association culturale. Les densités de plantation supérieures à 10 000 pieds/hectare ont exacerbé l’ampleur et la gravité de l’anthracnose du manioc. Les parcelles, situées entre les parallèles du cinquième et du neuvième degré de latitude nord, sont sévèrement infestées. Les températures et humidités relatives élevées qui ont prévalues, dans les différentes localités, ont amplifié la pression parasitaire. La bactériose du manioc causée par Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. manihotis cause de dommages aux cultures de manioc en Côte d’Ivoire. En vue d’avoir une meilleure connaissance de l’agent pathogène, 800 isolats ont été collectés des fragments de feuilles et de tiges de manioc malades dans six des sept zones agroécologiques (ZAE). Les colonies bactériennes de chaque isolat montrant les caractéristiques morphologiques typiques Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. manihotis ont été soumises à une analyse moléculaire. En se basant sur le dénombrement des feuilles attaquées par la maladie, la sensibilité de huit variétés de manioc a été évaluée dans les conditions d’infestation naturelle à Ferkessédougou. Les résultats ont montré après 48 heures d’incubation, des colonies de caractéristiques morphologiques, blanc-ivoire, lisses, brillantes, convexes, avec des contours réguliers, non puantes et d’aspect visqueux. L’amplification par PCR de l’ADN, a montré un profil à une seule bande d’une taille d’environ 900 pb caractéristique de Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. manihotis. Des huit variétés testées, seules les variétés améliorées « Bocou 2 » et « Yavo » ont été les moins attaquées. Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. manihotis est bien sûr l’agent causal des taches, brûlures et dieback observées sur les variétés de manioc en Côte d’Ivoire. En Côte d’Ivoire, l’anthracnose est l’une des maladies les plus répandues dans le verger anacardier et se développe sur tous les organes de la plante. Cette étude a été conduite dans le but d’évaluer et de proposer des fongicides de synthèse et un fongicide biologique efficaces contre Colletotrichum gloeosporioides et Pestalotia heterocornis. L’étude a été réalisée in vitro sur la croissance de ces champignons et en serre sur le contrôle de l’anthracnose par l’aspersion foliaire des fongicides sur des jeunes feuilles préalablement inoculées avec l’agent pathogène. Cette étude a permis de confirmer l’efficacité in vitro du Carbendazime à 1 ppm et du Prochloraze à 10 ppm contre C. gloeosporioides et P. heterocornis, les pathogènes fongiques les plus disséminés dans les vergers d’anacarde de Côte d’Ivoire. Le fongicide biologique NECO s’est également montré efficace in vitro en inhibant totalement la croissance mycélienne de C. gloeosporioides et de P. heterocornis respectivement à la concentration de 300 ppm et de 200 ppm. Le Propiconazole s’est montré le moins efficace. Carbendazime et NECO ont été les meilleurs fongicides contre C. gloeosporioides, en inhibant totalement l’expression des symptômes de l’anthracnose en serre, aux concentrations de 50 et 3000 ppm, respectivement. This study was conducted with the aim of selecting and proposing integrated control methods through the use of synthetic fungicides and an effective biological fungicide against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Pestalotia heterocornis. The study was carried out in vitro and in a greenhouse by foliar spraying of fungicides on young leaves previously inoculated with the pathogenic agent. This study confirmed the in vitro efficacy of Carbendazim at 1 ppm and Prochloraz at 10 ppm against C. gloeosporioides and P. heterocornis, the most common fungal pathogens found in cashew orchards of Côte d’Ivoire. NECO, a Biological Fungicide was also effective by completely inhibiting the in vitro growth of C. gloeosporioides at the concentration of 300 ppm and P. heterocornis at 200 ppm. Propiconazole was less effective than the other fungicides. Carbendazim and NECO were the best fungicides against C. gloeosporioides, completely stopping the expression of symptoms of anthracnose in the greenhouse, at concentrations of 50 and 3000 ppm, respectively. In 2014 and 2015, leaf samples from field-grown pepper (Capsicum annuum L. and C. chinense Jacq.) plants showing different kinds of viral symptoms were collected in Ivory Coast. Samples were dehydrated onto calcium chloride before RNA extraction (Tri Reagent, Molecular Research Center, USA). Two-step RT-PCRs were performed as de- scribed by Knierim et al. (2010) with polyvalent primers for poleroviruses targeting part of the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, coat protein and movement protein genes. Am- plicons of the expected size (ca. 1,100 bp) were obtained from four of 20 analyzed C. chinense samples originating from Arrah and Bongouanou (South-East Ivory Coast). The source plants exhibited leaf yellowing and rolling as well as stunting. PCR products were sequenced directly (GenBank accession Nos KT825996 to KT825999). Sequence analysis with the BLASTN software showed 97 to 98% nucleotide identity with Pepper vein yellows virus (PeVYV) isolates from Mali as closest sequences (Knierim et al., 2013). These se- quences were aligned with additional ones available in Gen- Bank using ClustalW, leading to a 964-nucleotide alignment. Phylogenetic trees obtained with MEGA6 were consistent between neighbor-joining, maximum-likelihood and maxi- mum parsimony methods and showed that the sequences from Ivory Coast isolates clustered with two pepper isolates collected in 2009 in Mali (accession Nos JX427535 and JX427536) in a separate clade (92% bootstrap value). Pepper veinal mottle virus (genus Potyvirus) and Cucumber mosaic virus (genus Cucumovirus) are the two most widespread pep- per viruses in Ivory Coast but PeVYV is an additional threat to pepper production in this area.

Background and Aims: Liver resection can lead to hepatocellular dysfunction. The aim was to evaluate the effect of N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) on liver enzymes (alanine aminotransferase [ALT] and aspartate aminotransferase [AST]), international normalized ratio (INR), C-reactive protein (CRP), and intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM 1) in cirrhotic patients undergoing liver resection. Material and Methods: A randomized controlled trial (RCT), Pan African Clinical Trial registry (PACTR201508001251260). 60 Child A patients were studied. NAC group (n = 30) received intravenous infusion of NAC 10 g/24 h in 250 ml of 5% dextrose during surgery and for 2 days. Controls (C) (n = 30) received a similar volume of 5% dextrose. All above parameter were measured during and after surgery. Results: ALT and AST were significantly elevated after surgery, but to a less extent with NAC versus C (day 3; 118.3 ± 18.6 vs. 145.4 ± 14.0 U/L. P < 0.01) and (121.5 ± 19.5 vs. 146.6 ± 15.1 U/L, P = 0.00), respectively. Lower serum CRP and ICAM 1 with NAC versus C on day 3 (44.2 ± 13.4 vs. 68.7 ± 48.2 mg/l, P = 0.003), (308.8 ± 38.2 vs. 352.8 ± 59.4 ng/ml, P = 0.002), respectively. Hospital stay was shorter with NAC versus C (6.1 ± 0.8 vs. 6.9 ± 1.2 days, P = 0.006). Duration of surgery, INR, and hemodynamics were comparable. Conclusion: Prophylactic NAC in hepatic patients undergoing liver surgery attenuated postoperative increase in transaminases, ICAM 1, and CRP blood levels. The impact of these findings and the cost benefit of reduced hospital stay on enhanced recovery after surgery needs to be evaluated.

In Côte d'Ivoire, Black Sigatoka, caused by Mycosphaerella fijiensis Morelet, is a major constraint in banana plantain production. The use of juglone, a purified toxin of this pathogen, could constitute an alternative in the early selection of new banana genotypes resistant to Black Leaf Streak Disease (BLSD). Local cultivars and hybrids to be vulgarized, were evaluated in order to elucidate the variability of banana varieties and to assess the possibility of using juglone to breed for resistance to BLSD. Necrosis induction bioassays, electrolyte leakage, combined with phenolic compound quantifications were performed on both diploid and triploid reference cultivars, as well as tetraploid hybrids following juglone infiltration. Results show, based on minimal concentrations and intensities of necrosis, that genotypes sensitivity to juglone was generally related to susceptibility to the disease in the field. The tetraploid genotypes exhibited the lowest necrosis intensities when juglone concentration was less than 100 ppm. Forty eight hours after treatment, phenols content of FHIA23 and PITA14 hybrids was at a basal level. These tetraploid banana probably produced antioxidants with high affinity for the active oxygen species (AOS) inducing their tolerance to the disease. This study confirms the use of juglone for simple and rapid screening of banana varieties with resistance to BLSD. Pathological and physiological parameters related to biochemical evaluation, constitute the best strategy for identifying genotype with the greatest resistance to Mycosphaerella fijiensis. However, this great resistance is not systematically related to a higher content in total phenols.Mycosphaerella fijiensis est un parasite nécrotique occasionnant la cercosporiose noire, qui constitue l'une des contraintes majeures à la production de bananes desserts et de plantains en Côte d'Ivoire. L'utilisation de la juglone, un métabolite toxique purifié du pathogène a été envisagée comme une voie de sélection précoce de nouveaux génotypes de bananiers résistants à la maladie des raies noires (MRN). Des cultivars locaux et des hybrides à vulgariser ont été évalués en vue d'élucider la variabilité de réaction entre génotypes et de confirmer la possibilité d'utiliser la juglone pour le criblage de la résistance contre la MRN. Les tests d'induction de nécroses et de perte d'électrolytes associés au dosage quantitatif des composés phénoliques ont été réalisés sur des cultivars diploïdes et triploïdes, ainsi que des hybrides tétraploïdes infiltrés avec la juglone. Les intensités et les concentrations minimales d'induction des nécroses évaluées ont montré que la sensibilité à la juglone des génotypes de bananiers a été globalement identique à leur niveau d'infestation au champ. Pour les génotypes tétraploïdes, les intensités de nécroses ont été plus faibles (< 40 %) lorsque la concentration de juglone a été inférieure à 100 ppm. En outre, 48 h après traitement, les hybrides FHIA23 et PITA14, ont présenté un retour à la teneur initiale en phénols. La forte tolérance de ces hybrides à la maladie serait due à une synthèse d'antioxydants, à forte affinité pour les formes actives d'oxygène (FAO). Ces résultats confirment l'utilisation de la juglone pour le criblage simple et rapide de génotypes de bananiers résistants à la MRN. Une combinaison des paramètres pathologique, physiologique et biochimique constitue une stratégie idéale pour le criblage fiable du génotype le plus résistant à Mycosphaerella fijiensis. Une étude a été menée à la fois in vitro et in vivo afin d’évaluer l’activité antifongique du mancozèbe et de l’huile essentielle d’Ocimum gratissimum L. sur Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici (Forl). Une corrélation positive a été établie entre l’inhibition de la croissance radiale mycélienne du mycopathogène et la concentration de chaque produit. Les concentrations minimales inhibitrices (CMI) ont été significatives à 500 ppm et très significatives à 250 ppm pour le mancozèbe et l’huile essentielle d’Ocimum gratissimum, respectivement. Le produit (huile essentielle) a montré des taux d’inhibition nettement supérieurs au seuil de signification (25 %) pour la plus faible dose. Aucune reprise de la croissance mycélienne n’a été observée durant les 7 j d’évaluation à 500 ppm pour l’huile essentielle et 4000 ppm pour le mancozèbe. Par ailleurs, l’application du mancozèbe ou de l’huile essentielle d’Ocimum gratissimum sur les plants de tomate inoculés a entrainé une inhibition de l’expression de la fusariose 30 j après inoculation. La biomasse des plants de tomate inoculés avec l’huile essentielle a augmenté de plus de 30 % par rapport à la biomasse sèche racinaire et de plus de 40 % pour la biomasse foliaire sèche chez Tropimech, variété la plus sensible à Forl.Mots clés : Activités antifongiques, huiles essentielles, Ocimum gratissimum, mancozèbe, Côte d’IvoireA study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of mancozeb and the essential oil of Ocimum gratissimum in both in vitro and in vivo against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici (Forl). The rates of inhibitions of the essential oil were by far superior to the significant level (25 %) at the lowest rate of the inhibitor. No radial growth was found during the seven days at 500 ppm for the essential oil and 4000 ppm for mancozeb. Furthermore, the application of mancozeb, or the essential oil of Ocimum gratissimum on tomato plants inoculated reduced the severity of the disease caused by Fusarium 30 days after inoculation. Anthracnose is the most important post-harvest disease of mango caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioïdes in Côte d’Ivoire. This study was conducted to evaluate the pathogenicity of 5 isolates (CA1, CA2, CB2, CB3 and CK2) of C. gloeosporioïdes. The isolates were obtained from naturally infected fruits of varieties including Brooks (CB2 and CB3), Kent (CK2) and Amelia (CA1 and CA2). The mycelium plugs of each purified isolate were used for a wound or no wound inoculation of Brooks and Keitt mango fruits. The dates of the first lesions appearance with their sizes were assessed. The inoculation without wounds didn’t produce any lesion on both varieties. On the other hand, with the wounded method, all the isolates caused lesions on the varieties studied. The first lesions were induced on the 6th day after inoculation (DAI) on both varieties by isolate CA2. It also produced the largest lesion size on Keitt (3.19 ± 0.39 cm) and Brooks (2.61 ± 0.34 cm). On the opposite, isolate CA1 induced lesions lately with an average at 10.75 and 8.50 DAI, as well asa lower average size of 0.12 ± 0.07 cm and 0.62 ± 0.21 cm, respectively on Brooks and Keitt varieties. Isolates CA2 was the most virulent on the two varieties.

Les feuilles de Bidens pilosa L. sont largement utilisées dans la pharmacopée traditionnelle. Nous avons cherché à mettre en évidence les effets antihypertensifs de ces feuilles. L'analyse phytochimique révèle que la fraction 2, dénommée BpF2, de l\'extrait aqueux des feuilles de Bidens pilosa L. (Asteraceae), contient des flavonoïdes, des polyphénols et des tanins catéchiques. Pour des doses comprises entre 1 et 25 mg/kg de poids corporel, cette fraction chromatographique induit une hypotension dose-dépendante chez le lapin. Cet effet explique le potentiel antihypertenseur de cette fraction. Ces effets ressemblent à ceux bien connus de l\'acétylcholine (ACh). Toutefois, alors que l\'atropine inhibe totalement l\'hypotension induite par l\'ACh, elle ne reverse que partiellement l\'hypotension provoquée par BpF2. Ces résultats suggèrent fortement la présence de deux types de principes actifs dans cette fraction active BpF2: - les principes actifs cholinomimétiques de type muscarinique, - les principes actifs non cholinomimétiques dont la nature reste à déterminer. La présence de ces substances dans la fraction active pourrait justifier, au moins en partie, l\'utilisation traditionnelle de Bidens pilosa L. contre l\'hypertension artérielle.The fraction 2, called BpF2, of the aqueous extract from Bidens pilosa L. (Asteraceae) leaves, contained flavonoids, polyphenols and catechic tannins. For doses ranging from 1 to 25 mg/kg of body weight, this chromatographic fraction induced a dose-dependent hypotension in the rabbit. This effect explained the antihypertensive potential of the fraction. These effects resembled those well-known of acetylcholine (ACh). However, whereas atropine completely inhibited the effect induced by ACh, its action remained partial on that caused by BpF2. These results suggested the presence of two types of active components in BpF2 fraction. - muscarinic and cholinomimetic activity, - non cholinomimetic activity to be clarified. The study showed at least two hypotensive activities in BpF2 fraction, justifying the traditional use of Bidens pilosa L. against hypertension. Un extrait aqueux des écorces de tronc de Parkia biglobosa (EAPB), à des concentrations comprises entre 1,18 et 18, 93 mg/kg de poids corporel, induit une hypotension dose dépendante sur la pression artérielle de lapin. L'interaction Adrénaline - EAPB a révélé une réduction significative (P
