La intervención aplicada a familiares de menores tutelados, ya tengan estos problemas de salud mental o no, ha sufrido diversos cambios de planteamiento a lo largo de los últimos años. De un enfoque más centrado en el menor y en su rehabilitación dentro de un sistema social, educacional y laboral se ha ido pasando a aproximaciones más centradas en el papel de la familia como agente activador y de mantenimiento de la problemática del menor. Con este trabajo se pretende ejercer un cambio en el rol del familiar, pasando de un agente originario del problema a un agente de cambio en el tratamiento del menor. Mediante un programa de habilidades parentales se pretende identificar las problemáticas principales de los padres o familiares que ejercen el seguimiento, siendo la experiencia de estos el principal foco de atención, desde su propia infancia a su juventud y su paternidad para así observar la influencia que tienen sobre la educación de sus hijos.
