Abstract Controlling the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) can be challenging due to the nonlinearity of its dynamics, which makes it difficult to design control strategies that are both robust and effective. To address this challenge, this paper presents a novel control strategy rooted in the concept of passivity that combines field‐oriented control (FOC). This strategy compels the PMSM to accurately follow velocity and electrical torque trajectories. The approach, known as passivity‐based control (PBC), entails reshaping the inherent system energy while introducing the necessary damping to attain the desired objectives. A crucial aspect involves identifying workless force terms within the process model. Despite their presence, these terms do not impact the energy balance and stability properties. As a result, eliminating these terms is unnecessary. This simplicity in control architecture not only preserves system stability but also bolsters overall robustness. The system's overall stability and the current tracking error's exponential convergence have both been demonstrated analytically. In order to maintain stability, the controller accounts for the nonlinearities of the plant and approximates the unstructured dynamics of the PMSM. The proposed control is designed using the dq model of the PMSM, which avoids the model's structure destruction due to singularities, since the dq model does not depend explicitly on the rotor angular position. Experimental results shown further, illustrate speed and position control with a desired pair calculated by a filter or a proportional‐integral (PI) controller for speed control and a proportional‐integral‐derivative (PID) controller for position control. Also the correlation between practical and theoretical results is given as well as the robustness test in relation to the uncertainties of the PMSM's inertia moment. The results demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed strategy in controlling the PMSM under different operating conditions, highlighting its potential for industrial applications.

Permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) associated with power electronics is a complex object to control due to the existence of nonlinearly coupled variables, and time-varying parameters. This paper presents a new passivity-based current controller (PBCC) design with flux orientation of a conversion system-based variable speed wind with PMSG connected to the grid through PWM converter with DC-Link. This technique is energy based and injects a damping term which ensures the stability and the convergence of the measured signals towards their references which forces the conversion system to operate at an optimal power point, to extract the maximum power produced. The main objectives of this study consist of two main parts: extract the maximum wind power through controlling the rotational of the PMSG and transfer this power to the grid-side converter, for this, a new controller is proposed. The second one is to maintain the DC-link voltage and the generated reactive power at their reference values, despite any possible constraints related to the machine-side converter (MSC), for this, a classical PI controller is investigated, that is to improve performances of the wind system. The use of robotic systems has now become almost necessary in various fields. Of which, the realization of any hard or dangerous place requiring an implication of manipulation and locomotion, is necessarily entrusted to a mobile manipulator. In this work, we present a control approach that ensures the stability of the system, based on feedback linearisation. The mobile platform is controlled in such a way that it always brings the manipulator's terminal organ to the desired position. The control of the platform depends on the information of the measured joint positions of the manipulator to ensure the planning of its own movement. It is shown that the considered strategy solves the problem ensuring the closed-loop stability of the system, thus allowing the convergence of the tracking errors. Summary: Tidal turbine systems‐based permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) has been largely investigated due to their higher efficiency, predictability, and high‐power density. However, parameter uncertainties and external disturbances make the controller design a challenging work. This study suggests a new adaptive fuzzy linear feedback passivity‐based backstepping control to solve the robustness problems faced by the conventional proportional‐integral (PI) controls in the machine‐side converter (MSC). The proposed controller design uses an energy‐based approach; therefore, its dependence on the system parameters is extremely reduced and avoids the cancellation of nonlinearities of the system. Then, the dynamic response is fast and efficient, and the asymptotic stability and the robustness of the conversion system are improved. The main objectives are the extraction of the maximum tidal power, feeding the electrical grid with only the active power, and regulating the DC voltage and the reactive power toward their references, whatever the disturbances caused by the PMSG behavior. The control strategy is tested under parameter variations, and the performances are compared to the conventional PI strategy. Numerical investigation under MATLAB/Simulink environment demonstrates that the proposed control solution provides a higher efficiency and robustness under parameter variations over conventional PI approach. This article present an application of sliding-mode control strategy to track maximum power of photovoltaic pumping system based on an induction generator with direct torque control. With the maximum power point tracking control system, it is necessary to measure the photovoltaic (PV) panel array output power and to change the duty cycle of the DC/DC converter control signal. To test the robustness of this control, we have compared the results with those obtained using the perturb and observe method. To control the stator flux and electromagnetic torque of of induction machines, the direct torque control is applied. The performance of the proposed system is validated in the MATLAB/Simulink environment (The MathWorks, Natick, Massachusetts, USA) and obtained results confirm the effectiveness of this strategy under the parameter variation environments.
